Cody was on Red Alert (with capital letters, even).

The past month his two youngest brothers, the twins, had been oddly quiet and closed off. They'd stepped down from the quidditch comments box, actually taken time for studying (maybe actually for schoolwork), all sorts of weird and out of character things.

All that had been commonplace, and he'd thought the energy waning was just a symptom of them growing older. But it seemed the energy was back in full force, but this time directed inwards, still just the two of them, heads together debating something wildly, jotting notes on a paper. He would go join them at their table, but since it was a school wide special gathering today, he had to stay with the other Ravenclaws.

Headmaster Yoda stood, and then climbed the two steps up to his podium at the front of the room. "Happy Halloween! Cancelled, tomorrow's classes are, but stay up too late you should not! Enjoy the food!"

Headmaster Yoda waved a hand and the tables filled with food. It didn't make Cody forget his worries about his brothers, but it certainly pushed it back a bit. He was a teenager, after all.

As the students all loaded up their plates with food, a second year named Tech leaned across the table to speak with Obi Wan. "What house was the headmaster in when he was at Hogwarts?"

Obi Wan smiled at the boy. "He didn't actually attend here. Much of his past is a mystery but we know that much."

Tech nodded sagely. "Maybe he's part house elf."

Cody almost snorted pumpkin juice out of his nose in surprise, but Tech ignored him and continued speaking. "Large ears, short, a surprising aptitude for wandless magic, that would also explain why he didn't go here, since Hogwarts was much more prejudiced when he would have been the correct age for schooling."

Maybe ten people surrounding the kid all stared at him. He just shrugged. "I thought it was obvious."
