The transition from "above" the multiverse into a single universe is quite easy if you understand how the energy of the souls attracts what you think and feel with your emotions. It is very difficult to have the thinking parts of the mind work with the emotional energy of the soul. It takes acceptance of your feelings instead of repressing or ignoring the signals your soul is trying to use. It can be subtle yet potent and difficult to understand. It is a completely different language but one that can be learned and understood given study. However it is not perfect. I am in a mass effect universe. There are always slight differences.
I am in some kind of park. The energy of my being has reformed into my default physical body. I see people walking around. No one is looking at their phones. A few are wearing strange orange visors. Their clothes look normal to me. I better get up and find out where and when I am.
My hand rests in the… fake grass? I can't feel any life below my palm. It is too structured and slow to be a living thing. I walk to a stone pathway and carefully make note of my surroundings. I am looking for any clues to my current location. I quickly glance at the fountains and statues as I try to exit the park. I follow the path not knowing where it will take me exactly. The sun is at 10 o'clock. I will head south. I need to focus on maintaining my energy to fully synchronize to the universe or risk exit. A spontaneous exit from a universe could be described as painful. My energy form does not really feel pain but a strong undesirable feeling. Do not worry, I was born and raised as a human in my home universe. It has taken many years of study, acceptance, letting go of past traumas, clinged to energies, and training to achieve what I am now.
I can manipulate energy to my will. I am not a god. There are many things I can't do. Either because I do not know how, it is impossible, or because I refuse too. When I achieved this state of being I did what most people would do. I went into the multiverse to explore. I have fun. Visit places I never thought I could as a child. I try to help people. Oh man, that last one was a big mistake. I reach the exit of the park and so does memory lane.
This is definitely a futuristic city. The buildings are very tall. I do not like the cities but know they do not make them this tall without advanced technology. There is a parking lot but no roads as the vehicles travel through the air. I walk through the intersections, making a note of the pollution. Plastic cups, trash bags, and more. There will always be irresponsible people in every universe.
I continue walking and feel out of place. It must be strange for people to see me walking in a messy area when they probably assume I could have flown instead. Well I can fly. I just need to generate more energy to escape gravity but I meant with their flying cars. I do not want to draw attention to myself and should save my energy. Finally confirmation I made it.
"Researchers uncover a prothean device on Eden Prime similar to the one found on mars. Experts claim it will take two more weeks to carefully and thoroughly investigate the area for more relics." A news reporter on a holographic billboard on the side of a skyscraper said.
Ok I made it into the right universe. Now how do I get to the colony? I do not know where it is so I can not alter space-time to be there instantaneously. Think think think. There are colonists at the colony. There must be some kind of infrastructure to transport people and resources there. Maybe I can hitch a ride.
I continue walking and reach an abandoned section. The paint of the building is pale and covered in spots of dirt. It can't be that old, the paint isn't coming off yet… scratch that there are a few areas. I feel like I am not supposed to be here. Soon afterwards two police skycars landed in front of me and the officers asked what I was doing. They looked annoyed at me for some reason.
"I am lost and need to find a way to Eden Prime"
"And you thought you would find your way there in this area?" a younger cop full of energy mockingly asks.
"I am lost ok. Can you tell me where I need to go?"
"A Lot of people want to go to the colony and see the artifact. It is going to be difficult to catch a ride on the next ship." an exhausted older cop resting on the hood of his car said.
"I just need to know where to get to ship."
"The airport. You really are lost if you do not know where it is. Just look up the directions on your omni tool."
"Uh I do not have one."
Both officers give me a confused look.
"How do you not have one?"
"I just do not have one. I have gotten by so far. Could you please give me a ride to the airport?"
"I do not know how much good that will do as the starship leaves in four days and good luck getting a seat."
"That is fine. I am meeting people there so I can get a spot in the ship."
The younger officer looks at me strangely while the older cop is exhausted and gives me a look with his eyes and rolls them. I can understand being tired but he is just being rude. I bite my tongue and express my gratitude for his assistance. He and his partner gave me a ride to the airport. Traveling by flying car across an entire city doesn't even take 5 minutes. It felt unnatural flying through the sky in a vehicle as if it was any other high traffic street. I rarely go futuristic, compared to my original time universes. However I know an airport when I see an airport.
I entered the airport. I'm kinda surprised they don't call it a spaceport or something but I guess people kept the name. I see holographic women like the asari one on the citadel in the games. I asked about ships to Eden Prime and she told me the next ship would depart in three days at 10 am. I thanked her and whilst turning around I shook my head. Why did I just thank a hologram? I walk outside and look for a place to hide. Away from people and cameras. Energy manipulation can do many things. After lots of practice altering the space around me to conceal myself and altering the flow of time so three days felt like fifteen seconds is as easy as breathing. Next it was going back inside to figure out which ship I needed to be in. Once I found out which ship, the enterprise I am not joking, I went invisible, flew towards the belly of the ship and phased through the hull. It is somewhat easy to convert your matter into energy once you know how. It is only traveling to other universes that is the hard part. Most of the universe is empty space and the fluidity of an energy form allows me to flow through the atoms of the metallic hull and into the ship.
I had to stay in my energy form for the duration of the trip. I did not want any sensors to detect my body and realize there is a stowaway. Flesh insulates us from the energies of others and while I normally do not like sensing the thoughts of others, I was far enough away from it not being overwhelming and close enough so I could listen and know when we docked. It took two days to arrive and when we landed, I exited the ship. I need to go away from people so they do not see me. I travel to nearby woods to materialize. I could use some time getting used to my physical body again and the planet's gravity. For how long I existed I rarely stepped foot on other planets. The gravity change was noticeable but not that much.
Fourteen days - five days of waiting gives me nine days until the geth and Saren attack assuming they are not early birds. I will need to keep an eye out for when they attack. I no longer interfere with the stories of other universes, not after what happened. I can help the people but when it comes down to it, the people make their own choices.
To pass the time and get used to my body I set up a small camp. A good rule for survival is threes. Three minutes without air, three hours without shelter, three days without water, and three weeks without food. Of course this no longer applies to me but challenges are fun and it keeps myself entertained. Even immortals need things to motivate them. I built a lean to shelter from discarded branches on the ground. Collected rocks and speared and alien fish for dinner. There were so many fish of amazing colors. I didn't even have to aim. I jabbed a stick randomly into the water and caught a good looking boy. It is a sad thing to see abundant wildlife is only common in areas with no to low populations of sentient life. I do not know if the distant past was better but it had its perks. Anyway, not all of the rocks are for a ring to keep the fire contained. Two were for other purposes. I smashed one to get a sharp edge to remove the inner bark of a tree to make cordage.
The bark took time to dry and be workable and I used that time to carve sticks for making fire. One was to round the edge to increase surface area and increase friction. The other stick I had to carve a small depression about the size of the rubbing stick and a notch for airflow. Kindling was easy to find as there were dead leaves everywhere. Off in the distance I could see those gasbag aliens but they never came real close.
When the bark was dry enough to be strong yet wet enough to be worked, I took two strands into my hands. One strand was twisted away from me then both strands together towards me. This caused each strand to be twisted clockwise but woven together in a counterclockwise fashion. When I had 2 feet of courage I set it to dry and found a stick to tie the ends of the cordage to. When it was time I made a miniature bow and wrapped my fire stick in the cordage so a forwards and backwards motion of the string would rotate the stick. I used a rock to keep downwards pressure on the stick onto my depression stick.
Letting the tools do most of the work, I spun the stick until I saw smoke and made sure a small ember had been birthed. I carefully placed the ember onto a pile of kindling, covered the ember with kindling and gently breathed life into the growing fire until it was self-sustaining. When coals formed, I cooked my fish. I had already gutted and washed the fish. I usually prefer other meats but fishing was easier for me as I barely have any bad feelings about killing a fish compared to a cute animal. I have seen the necessity for hunting overpopulated animals but death is still sad to me despite knowing what happens afterwards. There is only one time in your existence where you do not know what happens afterwards then the mystery is gone and you are still left to exist.
After dinner I meditated in my shelter. I do not need to sleep. It has become a rare treat as dreams are the one place I can go to let go of my inhibitions and just be. The days passed and everything was quiet and peaceful.
OH GOD What the hell! Ahh, it's disrupting my energy. STOP. STOP.
What the heck? There shouldn't be others like me here. What was… sovereign. Indoctrination. I thought it worked on a neural level, I didn't know it could penetrate me. Wait.. do they know what exactly they are doing. Calm yourself. Everything is energy, just deflect it. Ok, ok… ok. That is somewhat better. I will need to be more careful of any surprises.
The geth are here, I need to find a weapon and help.
It is time to fight.
