PART XII

End of a Battle, a Temporary Respite, and a Revelation

With the death of the leader, Lucifer was finally freed from the demon binding circle. He stared at Kagura in stunned amazement. Lucifer's other brothers were also freed when the five figures that imprisoned them disappeared after their leader died. All were staring at Kagura in stunned amazement. Satan, back in human form, and Solomon had the same expressions too.

Kagura stared at the place where the leader had been then stared at her bracelet with the green gem. When she was chanting, Kagura had felt an immense power coming from the gem. The power had flowed into her and Satan before it swirled around them. Kagura was stunned. What was that power? How was she able to wield it? She had no answers. "Umm…can someone explain to me what just happened?"

Solomon was the first to recover as he looked at Kagura in disbelief, "Are you saying that you don't remember what you did?"

"I do remember but I don't know how. The chant suddenly came to my mind before I could process what it was then I just acted."

Everyone looked at each other. They were thinking the same thing. When did Kagura gain so much power? Not to mention that she had managed to cast spells at the Arcane Stage level.

Kagura sighed, "Guys, I know what you're thinking but I have no answers."

The dark haired demon looked at Kagura with a start, "You can read our minds?"

"Sorry sir, but I don't know how to read minds. The look on everyone's faces is enough to tell me that everyone is as surprised as I am."

Lucifer went still, "Sir?"

"What else should I call you? I don't know who you are."

Lucifer's heart felt as if it was about to shatter, "You don't know who I am?"

"Should I know you? All I know is that you're one of Satan's brothers."

Lucifer closed his eyes in pain, his heart breaking. Kagura has amnesia. She doesn't know who I am.

"Are you all right sir? You look pale."

Forcing his pain away, he said quietly, "I'm fine."

Kagura looked at the dark haired demon doubtfully, "If you say so."

Turning to look at the other brothers who also looked pale and drained, Kagura said, "All of you are in bad shape. I'll heal everyone."

Kagura closed her eyes then focused her energy on healing the six demon brothers in the area then said, "Area Heal!" A circle of golden light appeared around Kagura again then surrounded the six demon brothers, healing, reenergizing and returning strength to them. As the light subsided, it was now the six brothers' turn to look stunned.

Kagura sighed, "Can we stop with the stunned amazement? If you want an explanation, I can only tell you that ever since I learned that I had healing magic, it unconsciously evolved."

The blue haired, orange eyed demon looked fascinated. "That's just like the heroes and heroines in my games, anime, and manga. Their powers also evolve just like yours. That's so cool Kagura!"

"Umm…why are we talking about that? That has nothing to do with our current situation. What's more, how come you know me too? Scratch that. I have a feeling that everyone here knows me, but I don't know anyone except Satan. All I know is that all of you are Lilith's brothers and that she had asked me to save all of you in her stead. I had promised her I would, and for some reason I have no explanation of, I personally wanted to protect everyone too. As for Solomon, I only know him by name."

The five other demon brothers was stunned when Kagura revealed to them that she didn't know anyone. A few minutes later, the blue haired demon asked, "Kagura, you have amnesia?!"

Kagura nodded.

"How can you have amnesia? These don't happen in real life. I thought that only happened in anime and manga and stuff. I can't believe you forgot about me." The blue haired demon looked very sad when he said that and Kagura felt horrible.

Then Satan spoke up when he saw Kagura's expression, "Levi…that's enough. I'll explain everything but let's go somewhere else. The danger seemed to be temporarily gone but it's still not safe here."

Turning to Kagura, Satan asked, "Kagura is there a place around here that's safe to talk?"

Kagura shook herself from her thoughts before replying, "The footbridge from the entrance of Tintagel Castle leads to a separate island. We can talk there."

Satan nodded.

Kagura lead Solomon, Satan and his brothers to the footbridge then to the difficult path that led to the island.

"Everyone, watch your step. From here on out it's wild country."

Kagura and company walked carefully down the rocky path toward the island. When they finally arrived, Solomon and the demon brothers all sighed in relief. They've never walked such a difficult path before.

"Okay, we're here. Have a seat."

Everyone sat down. After seating themselves, Solomon and the Brothers raised their heads and stared in stunned amazement at the wild beauty of the island before them.

Satan said in awe, "Kagura, this view is breathtaking. I didn't know that there were places in the human world with such a view."

Kagura looked at Satan and smiled. "There are many. This is one of them."

They looked out toward the scenery for a few minutes before Kagura said, "Satan, I think you need to tell your brothers about what had happened while you were searching for me. I have a feeling they know most of it, especially what happened to you. However, they don't know what happened to me. Most of my memory fragments are what you have told me but there is more that I still can't remember, especially on how I had gained these powers."

Satan nodded. "I plan to."

Turning to Lucifer, Satan said, "First, I want to apologize for what I did to you. I know that Lord Diavolo won't forgive me. When we return to the Devildom, I'll take whatever punishment he has in store for me."

Kagura looked at Satan anxiously. "Satan?"

Satan squeezed Kagura's hand reassuringly, "Don't worry Kagura. I'll be fine."

Lucifer gave Satan a stern look, "Satan, what you did was close to treason. Lord Diavolo had wanted to imprison you. However, my brothers and I managed to persuade him not to. He also gave us a warning that if you ever did something unforgivable again he will imprison you."

Satan bowed his head nodding. "I understand."

Lucifer nodded. "Returning to the problem at hand, how did Kagura end up getting amnesia?"

"I learned of that when I went to the human world to look for Kagura. I tracked her by tracking the last message she had sent to me. It came from her home so using one of the apps on my D.D.D, I found where Kagura lived. However, she wasn't in. Noticing a newspaper box, I read the headline on the strange blackouts that have been happening in the coffee houses in the area. Remembering Kagura's dream of a coffee house in the human world and the blackout that occurred there, I found the name of the coffee house in the article. The coffee house is a famous one. It's called Will's Coffee House. The owner and Kagura's father are old friends. It was also where Kagura was at last before she left for Cornwall so I went to the coffee house to ask after her. There, I talked with the owner and a waitress who knew Kagura, but the owner told me that ever since Kagura left London, he had not heard back from her since. That was when I suspected that Kagura may have gone missing. I then asked the waitress if she knew what had happened to Kagura. She didn't know either. All she remembered was Kagura was speaking with a Detective Inspector of Scotland Yard earlier when the blackout at their coffee house occurred. The Inspector's name was Shirley McPhee. After learning that Kagura spoke with her before she left London, I went to Scotland Yard to talk with the Commissioner. The Commissioner told me where the Inspector lived and gave me her address. After arriving at her home, she told me that she was indeed at the coffee house when the blackout occurred. While in the darkness, the Inspector had heard strange voices floating from the first floor and recognized the language used, it was Latin. When she revealed that, I had a suspicion that these were the Dark Mages that Kagura spoke of but it looks as if that information cannot be confirmed now."

After pausing for a few minutes, Satan continued, "Returning to how Kagura got amnesia. After Inspector McPhee revealed that information, I later asked her about the route from London to Cornwall since Kagura was planning to go to Cornwall. She told me that many people take the train to Cornwall and the routes are different for each train. However, the people who take the trains would often take them from the London-Paddington Station. So the next place I went to was London-Paddington Station. There, I learned of the missing train incidents that happened two days after the coffee house blackouts. All the missing trains were heading toward Cornwall, but none ever reached their destination. Following a suspicion I had about Kagura and the train she was on, I asked the booking clerk to show me a passenger list of all the passengers. When he showed me the list, I asked him to search for Kagura's information. After he pulled up Kagura's name, I learned that her train was indeed one of the missing trains. Pursuing that lead, I then asked the booking clerk to search for Kagura's train number. After finding the train info, the booking clerk told me that not only did the train go missing but the passengers and staff had also gone missing. That confirmed my suspicions of Kagura's disappearance. The next place I went to was the Rail Security Office. I asked one of my acquaintances there to track Kagura's train route. In the control room, he showed me where her train disappeared to. Together, my acquaintance and I went to the location to search for clues to what had happened to the train. While investigating the area, we found out what had happened. The train had been forced to a stop and the railroad telephone wires were cut. As a result of the cut wires, Rail Security never got any emergency calls from the train's staff. Later, my acquaintance and I went our separate ways. He went to report to his superiors while I continued my investigation of the area. While investigating the area, I came upon an area that had a massive amount of Dark energy. Following the trail of Dark energy, I came upon the missing train. When I entered the train, I found a horrifying sight. All the passengers and staff in the train had been massacred and had their souls stripped from them. I then reported to Lord Diavolo. After my report, I continued to search for any signs of Kagura on the train but didn't find anything until I came upon her private compartment. Going inside the compartment, I noticed an open window. Looking out the window, I saw a trail of flattened grass. Following the trail of flattened grass, I came upon a huge rock with a pool of blood next to it. Pulling on my connection to Kagura, I learned that she had jumped out the window and rolled toward the rock before she hit her head on it. That was how Kagura got amnesia. She doesn't remember her time in the Devildom, RAD, or everyone else."

After Satan finished his story and revealed how Kagura got amnesia, Lucifer and his other brothers went pale before looking at Kagura, stunned disbelief etched on their faces.

Solomon then said, "I learned of Kagura's amnesia earlier when she remembered what had happened to her on that train while she was talking to Satan. Kagura only knows me by name and have also forgotten who I am."

Kagura said softly, "I'm sorry everyone. What Satan and Solomon said is all true. I managed to remember Satan and my connection to him. I don't remember much of anything else before the train incident. While helping to regain my memories, Satan had told me about my time in the Devildom and RAD, but I don't remember any of it nor do I remember any of you. What I want to remember now is how my healing powers evolved and how I came to gain Light, Purification and Elemental Magic. The only hint I have is a fragmented memory of me looking at a sealed spell book in an old dusty Library. I somehow unsealed the book before it disappeared. When I glimpsed that memory, I felt something in me awaken as well as a vast amount of magical knowledge that came to me. I don't know how this happened. I need to figure that out before I regain my memories of the Devildom and all of you."

Solomon and the others looked at Kagura in stunned silence. A few minutes later, Solomon asked Kagura in a tense voice, "Do you remember what the spell book looked like or what spell book it was?"

Kagura looked at Solomon with unease. There was something in his voice that told her he knew something she didn't know. "I'm sorry Solomon but I don't remember anything more. As I said, all I remember from that memory was I somehow found a sealed spell book in an old dusty Library. While holding the book, I somehow unsealed it just before the book disappeared from my hands. What happened next is a blank to me, but I have a feeling that if I unlock that memory, everything will become clear. Is there a way to unlock it?"

Solomon gave Kagura a long look before replying, "There is a way but we need to return to the Devildom. I have a feeling that the key to unlocking your lost memories lies within the Devildom."

Lucifer looked at Kagura and said quietly, "Solomon is right. The Devildom will have the answers you seek." It would also answer his question to how Kagura had learned "The Empty Resurrection Spell" that had brought Satan back to life.

Kagura nodded then said, "Okay."

Lucifer nodded. "Then let us return."

Solomon turned to Lucifer and asked, "Is there a specific place you have in mind? I can bring everyone there."

"Thank you, Solomon. Bring us to Lord Diavolo's Castle. The others need to know that Kagura is safe."

Solomon nodded. "Okay, but how will they react when they learn that Kagura has amnesia?"

Lucifer looked at Solomon, "They would have learned about her amnesia sooner or later. It's better to let them know now so they could help her regain more of her memories."

Solomon gave Lucifer a long look before saying, "There's no doubt that the others will help but what I'm worried about are the other residents of the Devildom. They could easily take advantage of Kagura in her current state."

Lucifer's eyes went cold before saying, "If they do anything to her, they will answer to not only me but also Lord Diavolo and my brothers. I intend to make sure of that."

Solomon nodded. "I knew you would say that. I'll entrust Kagura's safety to you and your brothers once more. This time make sure to keep her safe."

Lucifer nodded.

Then Solomon bent down and drew the magic circle around him and everyone else. After finishing the circle, he stood up and chanted, "I am the magician SolomonHeed my words! Open the way forward, and create a path where there was none! Show us the way to the Devildom, to Lord Diavolo's Castle!"

In a blinding flash of light, Kagura and the others returned to the Devildom, landing in Lord Diavolo's Castle.

The dark figure was finally freed from the Light binding spell that was cast on him. Curse that Woman. He had sorely underestimated her powers and had paid a heavy price. He was also furious. How dare she make a Fool out of Him! The next time He sees her, He will make her pay, and pay dearly. Her powers were similar to the Man who had sealed him but how was that possible? That Man was no longer alive, and he had no descendants. He himself was part of that Man's human husk. He had no answers, but He will find out. However, that can come later. What He must do now is to get His hands on the second key. He smiled. His spy was already there lying in wait. Very soon, the second key would be in His hands.

A few minutes later, five figures flickered in front of him and gave him ill news.

"Master, we have failed thee. The Six are still alive and Pride is lost. We await thy punishment."

"What did you say?! Pride is lost?! How can that be?! He is my strongest Creation."

"We do not know, my Master. All we saw was Satan destroying Pride."

"That One is still alive?! That's impossible! Wrath had killed him. I saw him fall in my Mirror."

"My Master, he was dead. We also saw Wrath kill him. However, Satan was resurrected. We do not know how he was resurrected."

The dark figure was even more furious. His plans were slowly falling apart.

He knew that there was only one spell that can resurrect Demons and those cursed Angels, but that spell has been lost for centuries. He holds the key with the spell, but it was never found within its pages. So how did That One get resurrected? He didn't have answers yet but will find out when he puts his other plan into motion.

He smiled as an idea came to him.

"I shall not punish all of you yet. There is something else that needs to be done. I have a plan to get the Second Key. You will make sure that plan succeeds.

Touching the Shadow Ring with the black unicorn, he summoned Wrath. "My Dark Servant, arise once more and do my bidding!"

In a swirl of Dark Mist, Wrath appeared.

"What is thy command my Master?"

"Take with you your Dark Brothers and go to the Place that holds the second key. Create mass Chaos then eliminate the Seven who are together again. Take them with you as well."

The dark figure waved his hands over the Pentagram. Two shadowy silhouettes soon appeared in a swirl of Dark Mist. They flickered and solidified into two shapes, their red eyes glowing with expectation. When the Six Dark Servants saw one of the figures, they bowed deeply.

"Thou hast finally awakened. Welcome back, Your Majesty."
