When he opened his eyes there was a bright white light blaring in his eyes. He winced as he felt a strong migraine. He groaned as he also felt his whole body hurt. Mainly his right arm, he felt like his arm was being stomped on by a sumo wrestler repeatedly.

He opened his eyes finally adjusting to the light to see himself in a hospital. He had a breathing mask on and he was in a hospital gown.

What the hell...

He tried sitting up to feel even more pain shoot through his right arm to his shoulder and his ribs. He hissed in pain and laid back down.

He looked around and saw a remote. He pushed the help button.

Soon a doctor walked in. He looked like he was in his late 40s. He had a black beard and thick black hair with gray streaks flowing down to his shoulders. He had sparkling brown eyes and thick eyebrows.

"Ah, nice to see you're finally awake." His deep velvet voice flooded the room. He had a clipboard in his hand and a blue pen in the other.

"What happened to me?" Trent asked with a Raspy voice.

"You sir are a survivor of a plane crash. Only two people survived out of 87." He informed him to bring a chair up to the hospital bed.

Trent's eyes bulged, an airplane crash? What The hell was he doing on an airplane.

"But I do have a few questions if you don't mind. After you can ask me all the questions you want." The doctor stood up walking to the counter and grabbed a cold cup of water for Trent.

"Do you know you're first and last name ?" The doctor asked him sitting down handing him the water.

Trent quickly gulped it down the water " My name is Trent and... I don't remember."

The doctor nodded writing this on his clipboard " do you remember the plane crash or anything before?"

Trent tried to remember but his mind was blank. "I- I don't remember anything... everything is blank."

The doctor nodded, writing on his clipboard.

"Are you in any pain as of right now?"

"I have a big headache, my ribs, arm, leg, and my shoulder hurts, but my whole body feels kinda sore," Trent told him.

"And last do you know what today's date is?"

"Ummm is it January 21st that's the last date I remember?" Trent guessed.

"It is not it's March 27th, 2021." The doctor informed him.

Trent furrowed his eyebrows shocked at the news "March? I've been out for that long?!" He exclaimed.

"Yes sir. You were in a coma. Don't worry we took care of you, the only downside is that we cannot identify you. All we know is that your name is Trent."

Trent sighed as he tried hard to remember his last name.

"Don't stress or think too hard it can worsen your amnesia. It will come to you." The doctor advised.

Reluctantly he complied. "Now if you have any questions you can ask." The doctor told him.

"Well dr. Um..." Trent trailed off not knowing his name.

"I'm sorry." He chuckled " I'm Dr.Salvian"

"Okay well, Dr.Salvian what's wrong with me, besides the amnesia," Trent questioned.

"Well, you have a fractured skull. It should be mostly healed by now. Now you broke your arm and your shoulder. It is still in the healing process. Also, you did break a few ribs but most of them should be close to being fully healed. Lastly, you broke your leg as well but your leg is completely healed. If you have any pains that means you might've damaged the nerves in your leg, which we do medicate." Doctor Salvian stood up, and moved closer to Trent, observing his injuries.

Trent took a second to process what he just heard. "Okay... so you don't know who I am or anything about me. What's gonna happen until I get my memory back?"

"Well, we're gonna give you some time for you to try to get it on your own. If you don't ever get it we'll get the police involved to get your fingerprint and identify yourself from there. But until then you'll be staying here. How do you feel about that?" Doctor Salvian said writing everything he observed on the clipboard.

"Okay I guess... but what's gonna happen to me. Like where will I live? How will I get food? I don't have a penny to my name." Trent asked worriedly.

"Well since you are in this state, you will be eligible to be enrolled in a program that will pay for your expenses and will give you a temporary Doctor. But you will only have at most 3 months to remember your past. If you don't like I said before we will have the police identify you and help you get back to your normal life." Dr.Salvian says back down in his seat.

"Okay. Um, when will I be able to leave the hospital?" Trent looked at the man with curiosity.

"Good question, we already prepared your application and submitted it and you were approved but we will keep you for at least 3 more days before you're actually are able to be released just cause you just woke up and we want to make sure you are okay and can fully-" he put his clipboard down on his lap.

"Do things on my own?" Trent finished for him.

"Yes sir, you will be able to pick where you want to live but due to your rib and your arm, you probably won't be in the work program until next month. That way we can give your body time to heal, however the job program is optional since you won't be here long."

Trent just nodded.

The doctor sat there for a second not knowing what to say.

"Oh, and may I have some food, please? I'm hungry as hell." Trent chuckled.

————————————

Trent pulled up his pants with his left hand. A few days went by since the conversation with his doctor. They have those days to try to heal and remember his past. But unfortunately, he still didn't remember anything.

Today he was being released from the hospital. The program he was was recently added in, got him a small apartment in the city.

When he was finished he headed outside the hospital. He winced at the bright light.

He hasn't seen sunlight in weeks. The meds they had him on made him sleep all the time.

A cab pulled up that was called for him to take to his destination. He sat in the car and told her the destination.

She was an old lady that had gray hair. Almond skin and brown eyes.

"Hey, how are you?" She asked in a friendly tone as she drove to his destination.

"I'm um okay." He said not knowing what to say. He was sure she couldn't give a damn about his problems. Trent didn't know much about the United States but he heard about how New York people were assholes. But it would've been nice to have someone to talk to.

"Are you really child? I know that face anywhere! A face of a person who's new to New York." She chuckled.

Trent sighed " no not really, and I actually am new here! This is my first time out and exploring and seeing New York." He said shyly.

"What's wrong dear? And what brings you to New York?" She asked.

"I have to find myself again... I really don't know how to explain it better than that. I have no memory of anything, all I remember is that I was flying here? I think but the plane crashed and I survived and now I don't remember anything, ma'am." He explained the best he could. Saying it out loud he realized how ridiculous it sounded.

"Oh no... I can see why you worried, don't worry as the teens these days say this is one "hell" of a place."

Trent almost laughed, it was funny hearing her curse.

"Um, what about you um." He started but didn't continue cause he didn't know her name.

"Gail and I am doing well! My daughter gave birth a few days ago, I visited her this morning before I started my shift." She smiled fondly remembering what he assumed to be the newborn.

"Oh that's amazing, it's good to hear some good things especially being in the hospital for months." He chuckled.

Gail smiled wildly showing her perfect teeth in the review mirror as she turned left " well I'm glad I can refresh your day sir."

"So what's the baby's name?" Trent asked genuinely wanting to hear more.

"Her name is Calianna." She smiled proudly.

Trent smiled but he felt his head throb a bit.

-Flashback-

7-year-old Trent was in his backyard climbing a big tree.

He climbed trying to get to the top, he got about halfway before he came faced with a hole in the tree. He looked inside seeing if anything was in there.

He seen something move and he got excited. This was his chance to be just like the wild kratts.

He was about to reach in but a bird flew out the tree, unfortunately hitting him in the face with its wing making him fall.

Trent fell pretty hard, he felt the wind knocked out of him.

He started crying as the pain hit him. to make things worse he saw his shin bleeding.

"Trent!" A voice called out.

He looked over to see a woman run to him with a concerned look.

He felt slightly better when he saw her "I fell out the tree." He cried.

"Oh it's okay mommy's here," the woman said hugging him trying to calm him down.

"Calianna? What's wrong with Trent." A male voice asked.

"He fell out the and hurt his leg really bad." She explained still hugging her son.

The man crouched down to Trent's Injury.

"Don't worry son you'll be fine but we need to clean it, okay?" He said soothingly to Trent.

"Okay ." Trent sniffled.

"Honey why we're you in the tree?" His mom said standing and Trent did the same, his back and hips felt sore.

"On wildkratts Chris and Martin climb the tree's so I wanted to climb our tree so I can be an explorer too just like them." He said cheering up at the thought of the Kratt brothers.

"Son you need someone with you before you do that, it's very dangerous. We'll take you to climb but for now on, no more trees okay?"

"Okay, dad." He said.

"Alright let's get you cleaned up, your mom made your favorite." His dad said guiding Trent to the back door.

Trent gasped excitedly "Is it brownies mommy!"

"Mmm close its Brussel sprouts." She teased.

"Eww, mom!" Trent exclaimed making both parents laugh

End of Flashback

Trent blinked as he remembered a piece of his childhood.

"You okay dear?" Gail asked.

"Y-yeah I just had a memory, your great daughter's name is my mom's name." He said smiling.

Gail beamed "it's a beautiful name isn't it!"

She pulled into an apartments complex "here you go sir, your total is 13.67."

Trent got the credit card he got from the program he handed it to her and swiped it before she gave it back.

"Thanks for the ride and the talk." He smiled before getting out.

"Wait! Good luck with your problem, don't be afraid to call a cab and ask for Gail, be safe!" She called out the passenger window.

Trent smiled brightly "thank you! And I will! Have fun with Cali."

Gail's smiled before driving off. He turned around heading to the complex. He held up the key.

B-9.

He looked around for B-9 and soon he found it. Trent unlocked the front door before walking in.

He looked around the furnished apartment. Grey, black and blue decor, big tv and a fireplace. It had a nice kitchen a bathroom down the hall. He looked into the bedroom and nodded in approval.

He looked in the fridge and saw it was empty along with the cabinets guess he needed to go food shopping. Trent then realized all he had was today's clothes, no phone, shoes, or anything.

Welp. Time to go get some things.
