"Are you ready for high school Dylan?" Duncan asked in target. They were currently going school shopping the night before school started. Leave it to Duncan to put something like this last minute.

"Um, I guess. I'm not sure what I'm gonna expect though." Dylan said grabbing a big white binder.

"Nothing crazy. Horny people on drugs that can't control their emotions. Heartbreak love relationship fights hormones. Oh and stress about graduating." Duncan said grabbing a shit load of pencils. He needed to buy a lot cause he was a teacher and he needed to supply himself and the classes he'd be teaching.

"Don't forget the rebellious teens, betrayal, the wrong crowd, finding yourself and more drugs." A voice said adding to Duncan's list behind them.

Dylan and Duncan turned around to Gwen.

Duncan remembered her from his staff meeting this morning. He looked her up and down and saw she was wearing a dark mid-thigh skirt with combat boots. She also wore a tight black crop top with fishnet sleeves. Her dark green lipstick glinted in the store's light as she smirked.

"Hey, Do we know you?" Dylan asked confused.

"This is Gwen. She's another teacher on campus you'll be seeing her around." Duncan said before looking at her.

"Nice to meet you. Is this your son?" Gwen asked.

"Nah younger brother. Last minute shopping like me?" Duncan smirked holding up a pack of mechanical pencils.

"Something like that. I'm buying more art supplies." Gwen said amused.

"Hey, I'm gonna go to aisle 8 to get a stapler. I'll be right back." Dylan said pointing to the aisle on the other side of the store.

Duncan nodded at him.

When he was gone Gwen spoke up.

"So this is what you look like outside of teaching huh? I can get used to it." Gwen said nodding her head In approval. Duncan was wearing a tight black shirt with a skull on it dark green cargo pants and red converse.

"Yeah? I definitely think I can uh get used to that." Duncan said with a mischievous smile.

Gwen blushed. "Yeah?"

"You look hot in fishnet." Duncan complimented.

We'll I could give you my number so you can see more of it later on tonight." Gwen said stepping forward to him and licking her lips.

Duncan's smirk got bigger as he gave her his phone to put his number in.

Once it was put in his phone Gwen gave him a flirty smile "see you tonight Duncan." She said and waved before sauntering off.

Duncan watched her walk away biting his lip. He was gonna have fun with this. Little did he know Dylan stood there in the next aisle listening to his conversation.

—————————————

Duncan took his shower and was ready around 2 am. He went to Dylan's room to see if he was awake. And he was.

Dylan was playing his video game.

"Hey, you. Make sure you get some type of sleep. I'm going out I'll be back before 5." Duncan informed his brother.

"Where are you going ?" Dylan asked taking off his headphones.

"Just meeting up with Geoff at the bar." Duncan lied.

"Geoff? I think you're mistaken that for Gwen. I know you're going to her place." Dylan rolled his eyes.

Duncan furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "How did you- you never went over there did you."

"Nope. Gwen seems cool I guess. What happened with Courtney though. You were just whipped these 2 weeks waiting for a call."

Duncan shrugged. "She never called. It's time to move on." He tried to ignore the disappointment when he said it out loud.

"Besides Gwen isn't anything serious. It won't be either. I don't want to have anything serious anyway. I need to focus on work and you. I don't know what I was thinking getting hung up on prin- I mean Courtney." Duncan said with a.

Dylan shook his head. "Wear a condom. That's probably why you were so whipped with Courtney cause you didn't wear one."

Duncan blushed "how did you- I uh. That was only a her thing. She had the implant. Plus we um. Talked and..." Duncan started stuttering to Dylan.

Dylan smirked.

Duncan just glared. "Don't have sex without protection."

Dylan snorted. "Don't worry. I'm not you. I don't plan on being pussywhipped any time soon."

"Shut up" Duncan snapped before walking off. Dylan chuckled silently before turning back to his game.

Suddenly Duncan's head appeared in the door. "And remember it was only for Courtney! She showed that she was clean and I showed her the same. Only her!"

"Yes, I get it. Only her." Dylan said annoyed.

"Good." He said walking off before heading out the door.

Duncan walked through his doors at 5:23 am. He was satisfied with his time with Gwen. She was into some pretty kinky shit.

He went to his bed and collapsed sleeping for the next hour before getting up for school. He was tired. He was definitely taking Dylan to Starbucks.

He got up and took a shower. He washed off the smell of sex of his body and replaced it with his scented body wash making him smell good. He washed his hair making sure to massage his scalp before getting out.

When he finished he stepped out completely clean. He dried off and wrapped the towel around his waist.

He proceeded to get dressed. He put on his white buttoned-up collard shirt with black slacks and red converse.

He left in his eyebrow, nose, and ear piercings. Unfortunately right before summer when he got the job they told him he can keep the green tips but had to change his hairstyle. Which meant no more Mohawk.

Checking his watch he saw he had 30 minutes till Dylan woke up to get ready for school. So he took advantage of this opportunity by sleeping.

When they arrived on campus Duncan and Dylan parted ways. The 14-year-old Went to hang out with his group of friends while Duncan headed to the staff lounge.

Walking in he put his lunch and things in his class. Making a mental note to buy his own mini fridge and microwave to put in his class he turned around to see Gwen.

"Morning had any rude interactions with the brats yet?" Gwen asked making herself a coffee.

"Nope, nothing yet. I just got here. You?" Duncan said leaning against the counter.

"Mmm not with students. Although I just met a teacher and she was a complete bitch. She's new too. Super uptight, bitchy, and a complete Perfectionist ." Gwen said rolling her eyes.

Duncan grimaced, he hated people like that.

"Same. So let's not talk about her right now instead how about what are you doing during your lunch break today? We can do a quickie at my place?" Gwen said flirtatiously. Duncan and she made an agreement that they'd both be each other's Friends with Benefits. Duncan just hoped she wouldn't catch feelings.

"Sure. Hopefully, nothing pops up pasty." He smirked before his watch alarm went off.

"I gotta get to my class. Will you stop by my class?" Duncan asked.

"Yup." She nodded.

————————————————

Duncan wrote his name on the board and stood there observing the teens that walked in.

He sighed he knew this period was going to be trouble.

"Welcome. My name is Mr.sterling. But you can call me Duncan. Today I'm tired so we aren't doing shit besides me telling you rules." Duncan said.

Some of the students were surprised at Duncan's bluntness and language while the others snickered.

"Now rule number 1. No talking while I'm talking. I'll make you write sentences on the chalkboard in front of everyone. Or I'll make you make a presentation about you you should shut up while I'm talking then present it.

Rule number 2. I respect you. You respect me. Meaning high school is about you transitioning to an adult. So act like an adult and I'll treat you like one. With respect. If I don't have your respect then I don't treat you like an adult. I immediately give respect I don't make you earn it.

Rule 3. Food is allowed but no messes. I don't want to clean your shit abs neither does the janitor.

Rule 4: I won't tolerate bullying, or sexual harassment nor will I tolerate homophobia. If you do either of the 3 your life will be a living hell while you're in my class.

Rule 5: if you're acting like a disrespectful, disruptive student. Also known as a duche bag. You will fail this class.

So that's all I can think of for now. Oh, you can have your phones out but when I say put them away put them away." Duncan said before sitting down at his desk.

"Mr.sterling are we allowed to use the bathroom." A blonde girl in the back of the class asked.

"Yeah, not into the first 10 or last 10 minutes though."

Soon the class got into its own thing. Duncan heard sneakily giggles from the back of the class. He looked up and saw them holding up a phone. He rolled his eyes and got back on his own device.

Duncan was on his phone. Apparently, Dylan said something insane happened.

He asked what happened after he told Duncan he wouldn't believe it even if he told him.

But unfortunately, the universe wanted him to see himself.

He heard a ruckus in the next class which made him turn off his phone missing Dylan's text.

A door opened in the back of the class to a woman barged through holding up a phone that looked like the phone the kids were holding up. Duncan can see the heads of the other kids in the other class peaking through. Duncan saw Dylan's head with an amused but surprised look. He also saw worry. He looked at him questioningly when the woman stormed up to Duncan.

"One of your students-" she started pointing a lot before stopping dead in her tracks.

Duncan looked at the woman and his face was filled with shock then became unreadable.

She wore a white tight button-up shirt with high-rise tight slacks that flared at the bottom with black heels. Her shoulder-length hair was now just passed her shoulders.

Courtney looked surprised and happy? Was she happy to see him? She never called him.

He then heard the students start to murmur about them so he cleared his throat and stood up.

"Sorry about the disturbance. I'll take care of the problem Miss.Mallory." Duncan said with a smirk on his face.

Courtney blushed but kept her face stern. "Good." That was all she said before she put the phone on his desk, turned on her heel and walked off into the class, and closed the door.

Duncan couldn't help but watch her ass move as she walked away.

"Mr.sterling do you like her?" A raven-haired girl asked.

Duncan furrowed his eyebrows and looked at the class.

This was going to be a long class.

————————————————————————

Courtney walked back into her class her heartbeat rapid. She thought since she saw Duncan's younger brother in her class that she'd see him. But she didn't know she'd see him so soon.

She went back to telling the beginning of the year packet.

When the bell finally rang she was scared to talk to him so she quickly got out of the room when the class was empty. Just in time too cause she heard the other class door open.

She practically jogged to the bathroom specially made for the teachers. Once inside she sighed. She knew she couldn't run from him forever.

She looked in the mirror trying to keep her cool.

Duncan probably hates her for not calling.

Flashback

When she got in the taxi she put the number in her bag and made her way to the hotel.

She helped Bridgette pack her bags.

"But that guy Thad was the worst sex of my life. I miss Geoff. Do you think I should talk to him? Maybe work things out?" Bridgette asked.

Courtney thought a moment. "I think you should. Every time you find a guy you complain in some way about him. Just face it you miss him."

Bridgette sighed nodding. "So how did last night go?"

Courtney couldn't help the smile that was painted across her face.

"That good? Must be nice."

"I mean it was amazing but then this morning his younger brother walked in out literally just after we finished. But on the other bright side. I got his number and email. So after the flight, I'm gonna text him or something. I put it in my suitcase. Oh and he also got me this outfit." Courtney said smiling.

Bridgette smiled widely for her Bestfriend. "You better call him! See I told you. Just go with the flow If you were worried to take my advice. Now, look at you happy and shit."

She was right. After the 1st night, she told Bridgette about the night she had and Bridgette told her to not think things just go with the flow. She was nervous to take that advice. She already had a man walk out on her and Bridgette was having major men problems lately but Bridgette convinced her. And she was happy for once she wasn't being stubborn.

After the long flight. Courtney eagerly awaited her luggage to realize one of her bags was missing.

She flew off the handle when she realized the bag she lost had Duncan's number in it.

After many days she gave up trying to find the bag and was sad.

She was hoping she'd come to Hawaii next year and she'd see him again.

End of flashback

She called Bridgette and ranted about what just happened.

"What should I do. I know I can't avoid him but I'm not ready. What if he hates me?" Courtney stressed out.

"Courtney. Go talk to him. I'm sure he doesn't if he gave you that reaction. Besides, he'll understand when you tell him. If you wait too long he'll move on." Her Bestfriend advised and warned.

Courtney sighed frustratedly. "Fine. I have to go find him. I'll text you or see you after work." She hung up the phone and headed to his classroom. He wasn't there.

She huffed in annoyance before she thought about the staff room.

She quickly walked over replaying different scenarios in her head.

When she got there she opened the door and walked in the doorway.

"You ready to go? I miss having you inside me." Courtney stopped surprised about the lewd words.

"Ready when you are babe." Duncan's voice said out. No way. That's not him.

Courtney walked in not believing her ears. But when she walked in she saw Duncan with some girl. When they turned to face her Courtney immediately recognized her from this morning. They had gotten into a brief argument and exchanged a hostile set of words to one another before storming off.

Gwen saw her and her face fell in annoyance. Duncan looked surprised.

Courtney felt her stomach hurt as she watched them. Her stomach bubbled with anger, jealousy, and sadness. She should've known better than to try. Men always disappointed her.

"Don't mind me, I'm just leaving," Courtney said hardly before walking out of the room.

Going back to her class she wrote the class work schedule trying to not think of Duncan.

I to try This is exactly why she hasn't talked to men since her stupid fiancé walked out on her nearly a year ago.

Suddenly she heard the door knocking on her class door. She debated on getting up. It could've been a student.

She got up to answer when she heard Duncan's voice.

"Courtney are you in there?" Duncan said. Courtney stopped and stayed still.

Duncan knocked again twice more before the woman from in the staff rooms faint voice called out. She heard retreating footsteps and she's sighed.

She was too late. She wasn't gonna be the one to steal him from any relationship. Especially when she's the one who missed her chance.

She back at her desk making a hard decision to never talk to him. To not give him a chance.
