Chapter 1
Operation: Bloodhound
I stirred to the sound of my alarm clock going off, the repetition of beeps driving into my skull and bringing about a headache. "Fuck me...shut upppppp." I groaned and slammed my fist on top of the clock, shutting it up and bringing a peaceful silence into my room. I was almost happy...till someone started banging on my huts door. Before I could react, the door opens and a Slender White Rabbit girl walks into my home, wearing a pair of Black OCP's and some equipment meant for Reconnaissance. In her right hand she Held a full Face gas mask, the front visor being just two spots for the eyes and on top of the mask is a pair of Thermal goggles which fit snuggly onto the Eye holes. "Get up Carter, its time to get ready. We got a job to do." She spoke
"I know Churipu, Gimme 3 minutes." I said as I sat up in my bed. I complained, sitting up and walking towards my wardrobe, opening the door and pulling out my Dark Urban Camouflaged OCP's and put them on, finishing off with a pair of Wartorn dark grey Combat boots. I look at the top of my wardrobe and spot my Standard Issue Gas mask, its black and styled with a large filter in the front, instead of two visor pieces for the eyes, I get coverage for the top part of my face, the visor is tinted Red and ontop of the mask is also a pair of Thermal Goggles. Beside the mask is my Tac vest, equipped with a Kbar knife on the right shoulder, mag pouches in the lower torso area, a radio on my left shoulder, and a pistol holster on the center of the chest piece. I grab both and don the vest, holding the gas mask in my left hand. "Worlds greatest defender and somehow gets fucking lost somewhere in Robotniks territory." I would scoof and look at Churipu. " you'd think all he'd have to do is run in a straight line."
"Dont give him such a hard time Captain. Im sure he's just sleeping somewhere on a pile of Badniks." Churipu let out a soft giggle, her rabbit ears twitching slightly to the sound of footsteps approaching. I Look over to see a large brown Bulldog wearing the same OCP's I have on, but ontop of that some Heavy body armour meant to take a beating even from the biggest of Badniks. Its equipped with pads for the legs and shoulders and the neck, along with a kbar on the left shoulder and a radio on the right. On the lower torso there is two bandoliers one is filled with Shotgun shells and the other holding rounds for a grenade launcher, on the chest is a couple of grenades and on the back is from what i could see is a grenade launcher. Under his left arm he held a Black Helmet that would cover his entire Face, the Visor is styled like a Gladiators Helmet, on the forehead of the Helm is a pair of Thermal Goggles and on bottom part of the helm is a low profile Gas mask. "Glad you could make it Drey. Now we all can walk together to Headquarters to run through the Plan with Tails." Churipu clapped her hands and strides out the door, I followed close behind and Drey behind me.
"Hey boss...do you think we'll find him." Drey said, his toned you could tell he was worried but tried to hide it, which would work if you didn't know Him, his low gravely voice masked most of his emotions so it was hard to tell sometimes when he was upset, but you could definitely tell when he was mad. "Drey, im sure he is ok and safe." I reassured. Drey was a huge fan of the blue blur, always keeping up on the news of what heroism he's done. Once I caught him with a plushie once sitting on his bed. Teased him about it for weeks. "I don't think robotnik will find him." I gave him a pat on the shoulder as we walked into a Ginormous Green tent, inside was a large table with a huge 3d map of Mobius. Little flags marked every Resistance outpost there was on Mobius along with every discovered Base the notorious Eggman has, on the left side of the tent there was a computer terminal with a couple of researchers doing research I assume, I have no fucking clue but on the right side there was a group of soldiers and a podium, behind the podium was a well Known yellow fox with two Tails. He spotted us and waved us over "Welcome to the Resistance wolfpack." He side with a smile on his face. The group of soldiers turned to face us, each having their own expression but mostly it was expressions of apathy and anger. I rolled my eyes and walked through the crowd, Churipu and Drey following close behind me. Ignoring the small scoffs and whispers behind us.
We make it to the front of the pack and look up at the small fox boy. "Alright we're here. Whats the game plan..?" As I asked nonchalantly, a Silver, Shadow, and Rouge walked up beside Tails, giving him a light smile, I noticed that when he smiled back he looked pained and as he walked away from the podium, I noticed a tear stream down his face. I understood, your buddy goes missing for awhile and you would want to know where he's gone.
Rouge walked in front of the podium and cleared her throat. "As you all know, our dear friend sonic has gone missing. He hasn't returned to his home for a week." As she is saying this, a Researcher comes to the podium and sets up a projector, turning it on reveals a image of one of Robotniks bases, the one near Speedway. "We pinpointed sonics last location to be here." She continued, the researcher handed her a remote and walked off the stage. She then pressed a button and the image changed to one of sonic and what seems to be a metal version of him, just it looks to be spewing flames from its abdomen. "One of our Reconnaissance teams taken this photo about 4 minutes before his disappearance. He have reason to believe he might have been captured by Eggman.They also heard what seems to be a loud slam, as if it was a hovercraft crash." She changes the slide again, this time a top view of the base is shown. "All of you have been chosen for Operation: Blue Blur. All of you will help in participating in causing a distraction so that me, Silver, Shadow, and Tails can infiltrate the base and find our friend." The slide changes again. Showing the names of each team and where they would go.
We would spend the next couple of minutes listened to the plan, and everyone obliged and parted ways to get ready for the mission. "We have 30 minutes till we leave for the bas-" Rouge was interrupted. "I want everyone to be ready by then, if not we are leaving you behind." Shadow said nonchalantly over Rouge. She looked at him with a stern expression. Shadow then scoffed and looked the opposite direction. Rouge sighed and looked over at me and my squad. "You three, im sure you're aware of your mission." She said with a straight face, her attitude turned extremely serious. "Yes Mrs. Rouge" Churipu responded just as serious. "Operation: Blue blur is merely a distraction. Our mission is to infiltrate through the underground sewage system and into the prison system underneath the base." I chimed in. "Robotnik will be focused on the forces you send out looking for sonic while we look for the time stones Robotnik has stolen." I finished. "We need to head out now. Don't keep us waiting." My tone was stern, I wasn't about to be kept waiting for an attack and sitting in a Drainage pipe waiting for the distraction.
While I was saying this, a group of soldiers came up to us and handed us our weapons, each looked to be taken from a G.U.N. shipment crate, Churipu was given a Silenced Submachine gun, it was equipped with a holo sight and armour piercing rounds. She was also given a silence pistol, Drey was given a Heavy shotgun, it looks like it carries slug rounds and it was a very beefy shotgun. It was perfect for him. Me, I was given one of the humans Military Service Rifles, it was a high caliber AR and it had a longer barrel than the standard length, a suppressor, and a holo sight with a 3 magnification flip scope. We were ready for the fight ahead but just before we could leave, Shadow stopped us. "Listen, I dont trust you at all. I have no clue why Rouge decided to have you on our side and bring you into the fight after all that you have done..." he sighed softly but his gaze tightened, his tone remaining serious. "but she trusts you and your team to get the job done...and I expect you to be able to pull through with this. Don't let her be wrong about you..." and with that he went back to paying attention to his friends and we continued on to the vehicle depot.
--3 hours later--
"Wolfpack to command, we are in position. Awaiting signal over." I radioed the headquarters as me and my squad sat in a small dank tunnel, it definitely smelled like sewage, but it also held a smell of decay that seemed to overpower most of the shit and piss smell of the tunnel. "God damn, it smells like something died down here." Drey complained, waving a hand infront of his mask. "Im confused as to how these masks keep alot of contamination out but for some fucking reason we still smell whatever the contaminants are." He adjusted himself, propping his shotgun up on his left leg, and started to perform a check, making sure it was loaded. I watched him perform said check out of borderdom and honestly, it was the most interesting thing going on as of now, it also kept me from focusing on the smell.
Everyone fell silent for a few minutes, mostly focusing on Drey doing his check three times...four...five...six..."Hey guys...do you think this is abit odd...?" Churipu said breaking the silence. "Odd how?" I replied. "Well, you'd think Sonic would have made it back by now, hell maybe even a couple days. But there is nothing, not a word." She replied back before Drey responded. "If thats the case then wouldn't you think that pink hedgehog that follows him around would have said something right about now?" Drey held a point. That Pink hedgehog would have said something by now but there was nothing. Its like she vanished. "Im sure she is busy with her own stuff right now." I replied nonchalantly trying to waving off the conversation, but Drey responded. "For that hedgehog. Being around Sonic is more important than anything else." He finished making some valuable points, then he continued "That pink hedgehog for the time that we had known her, would have already had a restraining order put against her from how many times she's just been so close to him." He looked down the sights of his shotgun, pointing it in a safe direction. " Im surprised Sonic didn't even file one." He joked, placing the gun back on his lap before resting his head against the sewer wall. His helmet giving off a echoing click down the tunnel.
Few seconds later, we heard a large explosion and the sounds of thousands of war cries coming from the other side of the base. "Thats our cue." I said standing up and walking towards the gate. "Radio silence from this point on. Don't need the enemy listening in to our chatter." I say as I turn off my radio, walking deeper into the tunnel, my team following close behind. Finally some action, but I had this wierd feeling in my gut something was wrong...terribly wrong.
