Courtney sat at her house looking out her window. It was the same as every year, snow outside, people having snowball fights outside, and sledding. All of them were happy cause it was Christmas toys were given, and they had their families come from all over to visit and give them love.

But to Courtney that was just something that never happened with her family. They always traveled never having time for her which included the holidays.

Courtney used to it, it happened every year. She was at home while her parents were somewhere together or on business while she stayed at home lonely as always. Then when they get back they'll buy her a gift and act like nothing happened or they'll act like it never happened at all.

She looked at the kids in envy before closing her curtains in disdain. All of her friends had their family and she was by herself. She walked to her bed and lied down scrolling through Instagram.

She saw Heather and her family she also saw Bridgette and Geoff together with both their families. She sighed exasperatedly and threw her phone on the bed.

Duncan rolled his eyes and got off the phone with his mom. Apparently, his mom and dad were stuck in Colorado and wouldn't have an available flight till the 28th. Usually, she is happy he didn't have to deal with his family but he drove to the airport and was sitting in his car in the port parking lot for the last 2 hours.

Duncan sighed irritated before backing off his car and speeding home. Duncan passed by Courtney's house on the way there and didn't see her parent's car. Maybe they went out this Christmas.

He drove into his garage before getting out and going into the house. Duncan took off his boots before walking to the couch and sitting there.

Duncan didn't know what to do he usually was never allowed by himself because he was always causing trouble.

Before he got off the phone his dad's last words were to "not set the house on fire". Duncan rolled his eyes at that, he wasn't dumb enough to do that.

Duncan already took a shower today it was pretty early he had to wake up at 6:30 and sit outside for 2 hours. And it took 30 minutes to drive home. He thought about bringing someone over but realized everyone was with their families.

He got his phone out and went to the group chat that had Geoff, Heather, Bridgette, Trent, Alejandro, Gwen, and Courtney.

Duncan: What y'all fuckers doing

Gwen: watching my little brother open his presents Waiting for Trent.

Heather: I'm in the Bahamas for Christmas and it is better than what all of you are doing.

Bridgette: Geoffs and family and mine are making gingerbread houses. And at least we have snow, Heather.

Courtney: watching movies on my couch

Geoff: are they Christmas?

Courtney: yes Geoff it's home alone 2

Geoff: YES COURTNEY HAS GOOD TASTE IN MOVIES AFTER ALL

Duncan chuckled at that Courtney was always watching documentaries.

Courtney: oh shut up Geoff

Alejandro: I am on a cruise Heather so I'm pretty sure I beat you.

Heather: there's no way you beat me. What I'm doing is better than a stupid cruise.

Duncan: might rob someone

Courtney: typical

Alejandro: just face it you lost I win mi Amor

Heather: don't call me that and you did not win you fuckwad

Trent: Merry Christmas guys

Gwen: merry Christmas babe

Courtney: merry Christmas Trent

Duncan: you guys disgust me

Duncan put his phone down before going upstairs to his dark room.

He lied down thinking about everything. He remembered Courtney's house and how her parents were there and yet she was home watching tv. Well at least he thought she was the only one was to find out.

Duncan: Are you at home?

Princess: why are you trying to rob my house creep

Duncan: ha ha ha don't tempt me

Princess: well too bad cause I'm at home so rob someone else

Duncan didn't reply he was bored so why not go and harass Courtney. He hasn't for a week now cause of school break.

He got up got into his car and went to the store

Duncan picked the lock on Courtney's house before walking in with a present in his hand.

He looked around and the house was quiet. There was a tree with lights but that was it. The outside of the house wasn't even decorated.

He walked around the house admiring it. He saw a baby picture of Courtney smiling with two teeth missing. Duncan smirked at that.

Suddenly someone kicked his back making him fall to the floor.

Duncan dropped his present on the floor Duncan looked up pissed but saw Courtney standing there.

"Who the hell ar- oh it's you. Didn't I tell your barbaric self not to rob my house, you delinquent!" She exclaimed.

Duncan scoffed getting up " I came here to give you this." He said picking the present off the floor and handing it to Courtney.

Courtney looked shocked for a second then her face went back to a glare " how the hell did you get in my house?"

"I picked the lock," he said like it was the most obvious thing in the world before walking upstairs.

"Hey! You can't go up there you jack ass!" She said following him to her room.

Duncan sat on Courtney's bed and looked around her room. Courtney's room was decorated in a Christmas theme unlike the rest of her house.

"Hmm, nice planning to get smooched?" He said pointing to the Mistletoe by her bathroom door.

Courtney blushed before folding her arms to make herself more intimidating " go back to your family!"

"Can't they're in Colorado for a couple of days so I'm all yours babe? At least I got you a present!" He added the last part after seeing her face.

She rolled her eyes and opened the present expecting something to scare her but instead it was a box. She opened it to see a silver necklace that said the princess with a heart over the "i".

Courtney smiled happily then looked at him stunned "you got me this?"

"Yeah yeah yeah don't get too mushy over it." He scoffed.

Courtney's smile just got bigger as she tried to put it on.

Duncan saw she was struggling so he grabbed the necklace from her hand and put it around her neck for her.

Courtney walked to her bathroom and look In the mirror and looked at the necklace he got her. " oh my gosh it's beautiful Duncan!" She exclaimed.

Duncan walked in the doorway of the bathroom looking at her reflection. Courtney faced him and smiled shyly "thank you for the gift." She said.

"No problem it wasn't a big deal." He said moving over a little bit so she could walk by.

Courtney walks by but Duncan grabbed her waist. Courtney was about to yell at him when he gestured upwards. Courtney immediately felt her heart sink as the realization dawned on her.

She had to kiss him.

Duncan however was happy he always wanted to kiss her and it was finally his chance.

"We- we don't have to do this. It's stupid." She said rolling her eyes.

"Nope nope, nope you have to follow Christmas laws so you have to kiss me." He said smirking.

Courtney glared at him and his stupid smirk. Ugh, one day I'm going to rip it off his face.

"Ugh fine." She said she moved her hand behind his neck and planted a kiss on his lips. Duncan immediately kissed back deepening it. Courtney's heart was thudding while Duncan had butterflies in his belly. But neither of them broke the kiss...until Courtney's phone started ringing.

Courtney and Duncan both pulled away. Courtney quickly went to her phone while Duncan scratched his neck shyly.

Courtney pressed the green button on her phone and put it up to her ear " hello?" She said slightly breathless.

"Hi, this is a call from Florida's voting registrations you are a-" Courtney hung up the phone in annoyance.

She turned around to see Duncan nowhere to be found. She walked throughout the house till she found him sitting in the living room on the couch by the fireplace watching home alone 2. Courtney smiled and rolled her eyes and sat next to him watching the movie.

Both of them had the same thing on their minds. Each other's lips
