Tikal Makes Cookies for Knuckles
A beautiful day illuminated Angel Island, clear skies roaming from above with the sun's shining rays brightening the land below. A calm and nice wind blew through the many trees that stood proudly with several birds and other animals going through them and making several noises. From the chirps of birds to the growls of hidden jaguars, the lush jungle presented itself a mystery to many. Its vibrant vegetation makes it a perfect place to explore yet at the same time be considered dangerous for anyone to roam around in without caution.
Luckily for some that do live on the island they are a good distance away from this jungle which not only surrounds them but provides protection from any foreign intruders. Not only that but one of these inhabitants protects the floating atoll along with the source that makes the island float thousands of feet in the air:
The Master Emerald. Its unlimited power oversees the seven Chaos Emeralds that serve under its tremendous energy and if any of them fall into the wrong hands, it could lead to things like world domination or conquering the universe.
The Master and Chaos Emeralds luckily were on the island safe and sound resting on the altar that exists away from the forest within a large clearing. The altar itself was of ancient times with its structure displaying aging brick and green moss that grew on its surface over time. The glow of the emeralds can be seen from atop and displayed in its full glory upon walking the many steps that lead up to it. In order to ensure that the emeralds are protected from any threat, a guardian must be present to oversee them.
Unfortunately he wasn't present at the top of the altar, but that didn't mean that they were left all alone. A while back an event occurred which brought back someone who knew the first guardian. Although they no longer were with the former, they did their best to support the current guardian and eventually they bonded to more than just friends. Not only that but they shared the same aspect of keeping the emeralds safe, another reason which had them reciprocate their feelings to each other.
SWISH!
The sounds of rushing water can be heard below the altar, a small stream going through the grassland on the side of it. Clear blue liquid ran down the stream with a gentle flow and small groups of fish swimming within. The surface reflected the sun's rays, the clear water being shown more prominent in which for how translucent it was meant that the liquid itself was drinkable.
That was the purpose of it, for the guardian himself made it a while back to reduce the distance needed to get water from afar. It was also made for his mate so she didn't have to travel far and back as well since they both lived near the altar.
The guardian himself wasn't present around the area, but his mate was in which a bucket was poured into the stream to collect water.
Orange-furred hands held the handle and the edge of the bucket as ocean-colored eyes watched the small fish swim about, a cheerful smile on her face. She wasn't alone as well, another bucket being dipped inside which was held by pink-furred hands.
"Knuckles was right, this was definitely a great idea! Now you two can get water without having to go that far to the Mystic Ruins Garden for it." the voice of Amy Rose said to the other, raising the bucket and setting it aside as her green eyes turned to face the other. "I wouldn't have guessed that Knuckles would go this far just so you don't get lost or hurt in the forest hehe."
A small blush appeared on the other's face, smiling shyly as well. "Yes, my Knuckie does really care for me and I'm really happy to be with him. I don't mind going further to get water though as I do enjoy nature and the animals are really nice. Knuckie can be silly but that's what I love about him." the voice of Tikal replied to Amy.
"Awww that's so cute! I wish Sonic was more like that, hmph!" the pink hedgehog pouted crossing her arms. "Even if we are officially together he still tries to run away when I get near him for even a simple hello. In the end though he does that to tease me but still, I can't be that clingy."
Tikal giggled. "Well Cream did tell me how back then you would chase Sonic everywhere and that he panics about it. I think because of all that he still has that tendency to run from you which is unfortunate."
Amy sighed in defeat. "I guess you're right Tikal. I did chase that boy for many years and I'm glad we're together, though hopefully he can grow out of that phase like I did. I mean I don't chase him as much as before since I respect his freedom, but he does have to know that I love him."
"It is quite alright Amy, he loves you no matter what. At the end of the day our special ones are different from each other but very unique: Sonic's quest for more adventures and such while my Knuckie has his goal of ensuring peace to the land and fulfilling his duty. We'll still love them for who they are and them to us as well for who we are." Tikal explained. Amy slowly grinned at her.
"You are truly a blessing to be brought back and making one of our best friends very happy. Ever since that he's been more cheerful and everything." the rose-colored girl said. Tikal blushed more at this and looked down nervously.
"W-Well h-he's been alone for his whole life. Just knowing that breaks my heart and I'm glad I can lift the burden from him and make him happy… my guardian…" slowly a lovestruck face began to appear on the orange echidna, causing Amy to laugh lightly. "I see you do the same. When I think about Sonic when I'm alone I do that face hehe."
Tikal broke out of her daze and waved her hands. "O-Oh I apologize! I didn't mean to…" she whispered the last part hiding her face in her quills.
Amy waved it off with a smile. "That's alright, this is girl talk in the end. I mean the boys aren't around since they're off doing Chaos know what out there in the forest."
"Knuckie said that he needed Sonic's help in setting some traps in the forest. I normally don't like that he does that since the traps would hurt the animals or anyone that go through it but he said that they won't cause any harm. He told me they're simple cages and such." Tikal explained.
"Ah that makes sense. I thought they'd be fighting again like last time." Amy noticed Tikal's sad expression and quickly thought. "But don't worry they learnt their lesson when we scolded them a bit. Sonic did tell me he had to help Knuckles with something so I guess he forgot to tell me the actual reason behind it."
Tikal smiled once again. "That is correct, and also thank you very much for assisting me in getting the water!" she replied.
"It's no problem Tikal, anything for a friend." Amy then looked at her pink watch for the time. "Now that I see it I believe it's time for lunch!"
"That sounds wonderful Amy. What would you like?" Tikal responded.
"Oh no you don't have to do it all by yourself! I'll help in this as well!" Amy said happily.
"Well okay Amy. Though we do have to also make something for Knuckie and Sonic. They might be very hungry when they come back." Tikal informed.
"Yeah and knowing Sonic he'd be wanting chili dogs by now, bleugh. I don't even know why he loves those things." the pink hedgehog said annoyed.
"Chili… dogs?"
"Oh don't worry it's something that Sonic likes very much. I'm aware you don't have… those ingredients here but I know he likes fruits and vegetables that you normally make for Knuckles right?" Amy questioned.
Tikal smiled. "Why yes I do. Knuckie always loves when I do make dishes for him and I'm sure Sonic would love it just as well."
"Then it's settled!" Amy then had another idea, noted by the widening grin which scared Tikal a bit.
"U-Um, Amy, are you oka-?" the orange echidna was cut off.
"WE SHOULD MAKE COOKIES!"
…
"Coo…kies…?"
Amy raised an eyebrow at Tikal but then mentally facepalmed. "Oh that's right I forgot you came from a long time ago."
Tikal was still confused. Even more so when Amy suddenly grabbed her hand and pulled her up which shocked her.
"A-Amy w-what a-are you-?!"
"C'mon Tikal! We're gonna bake some cookies and not only that, you'll have something else that'll definitely make Knuckles love you even more!" she replied happily.
'And I know it'll have Sonic love me even more as well heehee!'
In Knuckles' and Tikal's home…
"Alright we have everything we need to make them. And oh my goodness Tikal you look so cute in that!" Amy squealed. The two were in the kitchen with the ingredients they need to make the dessert, and the pink hedgehog was gushing over the things that Tikal had on.
Amy herself had a red apron over with pink hearts on the front tied in a nice red bow on her back. She had a red handkerchief tied over her head in place of her headband as well.
Tikal was dressed the same except a different color: a white apron with flowers on them and a frilled pattern on the edges with a white handkerchief tied above her head as well with her jeweled headpiece removed. The orange echidna looked at herself and smiled shyly. "This does indeed look cute Amy."
"Has Knuckles seen you in this?" the rose-colored girl asked.
"No, I just make the dishes in my regular clothing. I mean… they're the only ones I use anyway." Tikal muttered.
Amy was a bit surprised but smiled nonetheless. "Well today will be the first day he'll see you in it! Just think of it Tikal, Knuckles normally isn't into cute things but you're the exception. He would lose his mind seeing you like this and I'm sure he'll really LOVE it!"
"Well… if that is the case then I will." the echidna princess answered blushing.
"Great! Now let's get started!" Amy then opened a cookbook she had on the side and stopped at one of the pages. "Since you've never done this before, we can start off easy with some simple chocolate chip cookies."
Tikal looked at the cookbook in awe. "So will Knuckie really like this 'choco-chip cookie'?"
"Chocolate chip hehe, and yes he'll like it. My Sonic loves it when he eats the ones I make, especially when he wags his tail. A happy hedgehog a happy life I would say." Amy said.
"Well alright Amy I'll try my best! Let's make these 'choco-chip cookies'!" Tikal cheered raising a closed hand. Amy giggled at this shaking her head. "Close enough."
The pink hedgehog then looked back at the cookbook. "First off we pour a cup of flour into the glass bowl. Just follow how I do it Tikal." Amy grabbed a bag of flour they had on the countertop in front of them and poured it into a measuring cup. Filling it up to the brim she then got a knife and leveled it to the top, after that finally pouring it into the glass bowl. "Just like that, now you try."
The echidna princess gulped and looked at her own small bag of flour and setup. They were making cookies separately so Tikal can have some practice since she's never done anything like this before. In her time she NEVER did anything like this anyway, lacking the necessary things to even make sweets and only relying on fruits to compensate.
With a shaky hand Tikal grabbed the bag and opened it, eyeing the white powder inside and slowly pouring the flour into the cup. She did it steadily as she is still new to it, the pouring taking quite a bit of time; Amy's eye twitched at this but she remained patient. A few seconds in the flour almost filled to the brim, Tikal smiling bigger as it reached the top.
And then she cutely sneezed.
POOF!
Tikal yelped as the flour dispersed into the air and covering her face with it, her peach-colored fur and tan muzzle botched with the white powdery substance. She coughed a few times and sneezed once more, her blue eyes opening in confusion then into sadness after.
"Oh no… I-I…" the echidna princess was ready to burst into tears but Amy waved her hands in panic. "It's okay it's okay! The first time isn't always perfect so no worries! Let's get your face cleaned up and we can keep going."
Amy grabbed a nearby towel and wiped the flour off Tikal's face, the latter sniffing. "O-Okay, if you s-say so."
"It's fine, I mean I had a feeling that something like that would happen so relax. I'll make sure your cookies are the best thing you ever made for Knuckles!" the rose-colored girl cheered. Tikal smiled at this and wiped her tears. "Thanks Amy."
"Don't mention it, now just pour the flour into the bowl." Amy instructed. Tikal nodded and poured her flour into it, not forgetting to level it before doing that.
"Next we add a few tablespoons of sugar." Amy said adding the sugar into her bowl. "And then we add a nice size of butter. However since we didn't let it out of the fridge for two hours, do you mind heating it up in the microwave for me Tikal?"
The peach-colored girl raised an eyebrow. "Okay but why?"
"It isn't soft enough to add into the bowl and it'll be hard to mix it with the other ingredients if we don't soften it. Just put it in the microwave and make sure to heat it for seven seconds, okay?" Amy explained.
Tikal silently nodded and grabbed the butter on the countertop. She eyed the yellow rectangular bar curiously then walked over to the microwave.
Now Tikal herself has little to no knowledge on how to use a microwave let alone a toaster. Due to how incredibly primitive her time was and how she made dishes by hand, she never did use much of the appliances they had in the kitchen. Knuckles didn't use any of them either, the sole exception being the fridge since he and Tikal were aware that it helps keep their produce fresh for longer. They can just take it out, prep it and then eat it afterwards so they never bothered with any of the other electrical machines.
This would be a small step for Tikal, but a giant leap into the twenty-first century for the echidna princess.
Tikal eyed the microwave for a few seconds then opened the door to it and placed the butter inside. Upon closing it she stared at the number pad for a bit. Luckily she knew how to read them and since Amy told her for seven seconds she went on and pressed the number seven on it, instantly seeing the inside brighten up and the butter spinning on the glass top. Tikal looked at it pleased, smiling as she nodded triumphantly.
The orange echidna may know what the number seven is, but she didn't know the whole truth behind it.
Amy was currently getting the next set of ingredients together as she took hold of some eggs and vanilla in her hands. "Alright these will be next once the butter is done." she said to herself and turning towards Tikal. "Is the butter ready ye-."
She eyed the timer.
It displayed something… different.
Green eyes widened in panic with red boots hitting the laminated floor rapidly.
Tikal gasped as Amy rushed to it and popped open the microwave quickly. The pink hedgehog hurriedly pulled out the butter that was on a white dish.
It was mostly melted down to which it was more liquid than solid.
"Tikal I said seven seconds!" Amy shouted, the high pitch of her voice frightening Tikal. "I-I-I d-did…"
The rose-colored girl looked at the timer. "I see that you made the microwave turn on, but instead of seven seconds you had it for seven minutes!"
Sniff.
Amy's eyes widened yet again, turning to see Tikal ready to break down with hands covering her face. She thought quickly and ran to her with arms wrapping around in a hug. "Oh Tikal I'm really sorry! It's okay it's okay I didn't mean… shush now it's okay." Amy reassured patting her back. Tikal trembled in her grasp but luckily calmed down after a bit, her sniffing ceasing to which the pink hedgehog slowly let go of her and eyed the orange echidna. Slightly puffy blue eyes watched back in sadness which made Amy feel guilt.
"It's alright, I shouldn't have yelled like that. I said I'll help you make cookies and so far I'm not helping you the way I'm supposed to. I'm so sorry for that, please forgive me?" Amy said pleadingly. Tikal sniffed once again and nodded with a smile. "Y-Yes Amy, I forgive you."
"Alright, and even then we can still use the butter so it's okay. It'll be even easier now that it's really softened up hehe." Amy stated. Tikal laughed softly as well with the two splitting the butter and putting their own half into their own bowl.
"Now we just add some eggs and vanilla and after that we add-."
"W-We're adding e-eggs?" Tikal said with some fear shown on her. "B-But the new y-younglings…"
'FUCK! She really does care for the animals!' Amy thought as well, just as she was about to crack the egg. 'I also just realized that Knuckles told me she's a complete vegan too!'
Tikal continued to look at the eggs in great concern. Back then the male echidnas hunted down animals for their meat and would enjoy the feasts that comes after several big catches. The echidna princess was never a part of those gatherings, her love for animals that great that she refused to eat anything that had flesh and bone. She even refused to eat fish when the tribe would go by the lake to catch them. Eggs are also included, Tikal knowing that once they are ready do hatchlings come out of them. Her grandmother raised her not just to be a pacifist, but also raised her in eating the right way through fruits, vegetables and anything natural and edible that came from the earth. She believed that all living creatures should not consume one another for nourishment, so when Knuckles was told of this from her he immediately dropped meat from his diet and ate plant-based stuff only. For protein he relied on grains and nuts such as almonds and wheat to which he used his digging to find them and return with very plentiful amounts that left Tikal in shock and joy at the same time.
All in all, the echidna princess was very against eating anything coming from an animal, even if they haven't been born yet such as an egg.
Luckily Amy had another idea as she grabbed another ingredient next to the eggs that were in a clear container. "Okay so instead of eggs we're going to use applesauce. They'll hold the cookies together and not only that they'll add the extra taste of apple to them!" she said cheerfully.
Tikal sighed in relief and smiled. "That's wonderful Amy." she said, completely forgetting why they were even using eggs in the first place.
'And just like that she's back to normal. I don't know how you can deal with her Knuckles but at least she's happy hehe.' Amy thought. Kind of ironic when a certain blue hedgehog sometimes would have the same issues and thoughts on the pink hedgehog as well, but she didn't pay too much mind to it.
"Now we add the applesauce with the vanilla like so." Amy added the extra ingredients into the bowl with Tikal copying her and adding her own into her own bowl. "And finally we add the best part of the whole thing: the chocolate chips!" she said raising a small bag filled with the brown candy.
"So how do they taste?" Tikal questioned. Amy opened up the bag and grabbed one to give to Tikal, the latter looking at it in confusion yet took it. "Try it out and you'll see why Knuckles will like it."
The peach-colored girl raised it to her mouth and slowly chewed on it. Her eyes widened instantly as she clasped her cheeks in happiness with a squeal, swallowing it afterwards. "Oh my goodness this tastes so amazing! I did not know that this 'chocochip' would be this delicious!"
"Told ya hehe, this is the bread and butter to the overall cookie and it'll knock anyone's socks off! Sonic and Knuckles will be very, very happy when they get to try them and especially when it came from us!" Amy explained.
"Yes! I will be VERY pleased to see my Knuckie eat my cookies! I wish to keep him happy forever and ever, the same way he does with me." Tikal blushed looking down with loving eyes. Amy smiled and blushed as well, imagining Sonic with that trademark grin on his face. "Yeah, I think about it the same way with Sonic. Now let's quickly hurry before they get back as well."
The two added the chocolate chips into their bowls as well and from there they started to mix it with separate mixers. Tikal's bowl shook a bit since she pressed high on the mixer to which some cookie dough splattered on the two, Amy laughing it off and calming her that it's okay as they made a great amount of dough that any bits thrown out will be fine.
From there they rolled the dough into balls within their hands and set them on two baking trays, one for each. Tikal was better in rolling the dough due to having a bit of skill in clay molding she did back in her time and rolling it into balls wasn't difficult for her. The orange echidna finished before the pink hedgehog and the latter was impressed, patting her shoulder as Tikal smiled happily.
They added the baking trays into the oven and set it at the temperature needed to which they waited. Tikal crouched next to the oven as she stared in awe at the cookie dough beginning to flatten, Amy giggling behind her. 'She's just like a little kid hehe. It's understandable that she comes from 3,000 years ago but I'm glad she's living a nice life so far, and one way better than the one she talked to me about. Knuckles… keep her safe and happy, and for the love of Chaos you better not break her heart or so help me I'll-.'
"Amy, when will the cookies be done?" Tikal asked with her head turned towards the pink hedgehog. She had a curious look on her face and just on how innocent the echidna princess' expression was it melted Amy inside, yet she kept her composure. "They'll be done in a few more minutes. While we wait let's actually clean up so when the boys get back there won't be too much of a mess hehe."
"Alright Amy, I'll be glad to assist." Tikal got up and helped Amy clean up. It didn't take long until they heard a ding come from the oven.
A few minutes later…
The front door opened and a familiar blue hedgehog and red echidna stepped inside. Dirt and scratches covered their bodies with one of them smirking and the other having a scowl on his face as he eyed the Blue Blur.
"I can't believe you set off the trap like that you idiot. Be glad I can't pummel you into the ground with them around." the deep voice of Knuckles sounded off towards Sonic who gazed back cockily.
"Don't think I don't feel the same way Knucklehead. You let that tiger escape while you have your foot caught in that rope." he replied.
"You scared it off moron! We were silently hiding in the bush no problem but you had to move a bit and snap a twig! The tiger ran off and as we chased it you left the rope right next to our feet!" Knuckles barked. "It doesn't take a genius to know whose fault it was!"
"Oh you wanna start huh?!" Sonic's eyes widened however, narrowing his eyes angrily while raising a finger next to his mouth. "Be quiet echidna. We didn't see them outside so there's a chance they'll be in here!" he whispered angrily.
Knuckles clenched his teeth in irritation then grunted. "Shut it hedgehog. Don't tell me what to do but I agree with you, I didn't see them outside either."
"Alright, now let's just wash up and get something to eat because I'm really starving." Sonic said.
"Good idea." Knuckles' nose suddenly twitched, picking up a sweet scent in the air as his violet eyes widened a bit. "Hey, do you smell that?"
Sonic raised an eyebrow until his own nose twitched, suddenly sniffing the air and noticing it as well. "Yeah and it smells great! I wonder what that is?" he questioned.
"I see you two came back and just in-WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU TWO?!" a high-pitched voice shouted. Sonic and Knuckles stiffened, slowly turning to see the incredibly angry look coming from Amy Rose whose murderous looking green eyes were aimed directly at them. "Did you two fight each other again?!"
"What no Ames! We were setting up traps and testing them, apparently some going off at the wrong time and we got hurt!" Sonic explained. The vicious glare coming from her didn't let up as the Blue Blur started to sweat. "I'm being honest here! Knuckles help me out!"
"It's true Amy, we didn't fight each other or otherwise you'd see severe bruising on him. All we have are scratches and that's just because we dug some under the ground and had some run-ins with animals trying to attack us." Knuckles added in.
Amy rolled her eyes yet sighed in relief. "I swear you two doing things like that will give me and Tikal a heart attack."
"Don't worry Ames, I promised I wouldn't lie to you anymore and I've been keeping that promise." Sonic then noticed the sweet scent again, following his nose which pointed to Amy. Not only that but he saw that she was covered in bits of dough and batter with the apron and handkerchief on her as well. "Woah you look great today! Did you make something while we were gone?"
Amy smiled with a giggle, her hands behind her back. "Why yes Sonic I did. I wasn't the only one though as Tikal also made something."
"What'd she make?" Knuckles said with interest.
"You'll see right about-."
"U-Um… h-hello." Tikal peaked her head from behind Amy and noticed the two. Her ocean-colored orbs widened at seeing Knuckles in his current state.
"K-Knuckie are you okay?!" the echidna princess rushed to the emerald guardian and examined him, her hands taking one of his in her own. "D-Don't tell me y-you and Sonic-."
"No it's not that Tikie I promise!" Knuckles panicked. "We were just having some bad luck with the traps and we're fine. It's okay… I'm not feeling any pain, we just need to wash up and that's it." he finished with a gentle smile. Tikal looked up at him in worry yet believed him as she nodded. "O-Okay Knuckie, but after this I'll treat your wounds." the orange echidna said noticing some patches of cuts on his arms.
"That's fine with me." Knuckles replied. His voice immediately caught in his throat however upon seeing her better, his urge to comfort her now complete. She was wearing a cute white apron with flowers on it along with a white handkerchief tied onto her head. It has some dough on parts of it with a white bow tied behind her.
'W-What t-the… why haven't I seen this?! Can Tikie really be any cuter than this?! GAAH!' his mind was overloading, violet eyes watching blue ones who returned the stare.
'Amy was right. HE REALLY LIKES IT!' she cheered inside her head, her tail wagging slowly behind her as the echidnas gazed at each other. Sonic and Amy grinned at this, looking at each other afterwards. "So what you two make?" the Blue Blur asked.
"Oh you know just one of your favorites: chocolate chip cookies!" the pink hedgehog said. Sonic smiled widely at this. "Awesome! Just in time because me and Knuckles sure are hungry!"
"Hehe well come on you two, we made enough for all of us." Amy said as she and Sonic walked towards the kitchen. Knuckles and Tikal realized then and shook their heads, looking at each other with a blush on their face.
"So u-um… you made cookies as well?" Knuckles questioned.
"Y-Yes. It was my very first time… I hope you'll be pleased my love." Tikal muttered the last part.
"Anything you make I'll love it no matter what, and I won't ever lie to you on that." the emerald guardian replied smiling. The echidna princess returned the gesture as the two walked into the kitchen as well.
"SURPRISE!" Amy announced as the four walked towards the kitchen table. Sonic and Knuckles were amazed and drooled slightly at the sight:
Two large plates of chocolate chip cookies were presented which stacked up to at least a foot in height, their golden-brown surface mixed with the brown candy glowing nicely with the ambient light. A small stream of light smoke rose from both plates, meaning that they were freshly made and luckily a bit of wind made it go towards the male hedgehog and echidna to which their noses picked up the scent and caused their mouths to water more. On top of each plate rested a small bow that matched their lover's fur color: one had a pink bow while the other had an orange one. To finish it off there was another yet smaller plate in front of each of the larger ones with a single cookie, except it was different from all the others.
That cookie was shaped like a heart and had writing on it with white frosting: One had 'Sonic + Amy' and the other had 'Knuckles + Tikal', both written in cursive.
"D-Do you like it?" Tikal stuttered to Knuckles.
Amy was slightly worried. "Y-You okay Sonic?"
Sonic and Knuckles remained silent, their faces casting a shadow over their eyes which weren't visible. Both of them suddenly walked towards the table in a strange walking formation as if they were in the military, doing it in sync as well. Upon approaching they raised their hands towards their plate and grabbed a cookie, Sonic grabbing one with the pink bow and Knuckles grabbing one with the orange bow. At the same time they raised it to their mouths and took a bite, chewing on it.
Amy and Tikal looked at each other worriedly. Usually their boyfriends would be weird when they do guy stuff but this is something they haven't seen before. Since when did they practice something like that?
GULP!
The two girls looked back at the boys, seeing that they finished their cookie. They stood there for several seconds.
"A-Are you two okay? Were they n-not good?"
"K-Knuckie, p-please say something…"
WHOOSH!
Amy's eyes widened upon feeling Sonic's lips meeting her. All thought process left her brain and immediately she clutched onto her blue hero, hands going through his quills and not minding that they were covered in dirt. She was covered in cookie dough anyway.
Tikal squealed feeling Knuckles pick her up and kissing her. The same way occurred as the echidna princess cupped his face in her hands, bringing him further in. Her mind was going a million miles an hour, her emerald guardian the sole focus of her thoughts as her lips danced with his in a passionate exchange.
Eventually the two couples separated as the boys grinned widely.
"Ames you've done it again! Those cookies are incredible!" Sonic said happily, picking Amy up as he twirled her in the air. The pink hedgehog giggled as she smiled widely in return. "Anything for my blue hedgie~."
"D-Did you really make these?" Knuckles asked Tikal as he continued to hold her. The echidna princess blushed and poked her index fingers together looking down. "Y-Yes, it was my first time. Amy did help me though." she replied softly. Knuckles slowly grinned and kissed her again, the latter squealing again and returning it with great delight. Separating once again he touched his nose to hers. "They taste fantastic. Just like grapes."
Amy and Sonic walked closer to the table while Knuckles set Tikal down as the two followed suit. The blue hedgehog and red echidna grabbed another cookie and ate them, green and violet eyes lighting up.
"THEY ARE AMAZING!" the two happily shouted. Amy and Tikal laughed grabbing one as well.
"Well knowing you two and your appetites we figured something more filling would suffice. I mean fruits and vegetables is all that Knuckles and Tikal have so a bit of change is sometimes needed." Amy said.
"I do agree Amy." Tikal ate her cookie, closing her eyes in joy. "These are definitely excellent! Now that I know how to make them we'll have some treats in our home. Thank you so much as well!"
"Ah don't mention it Tikal. I mean look at them." Amy shook her head watching Sonic and Knuckles devour their plates with tails wagging. "They're both incredibly active and they come home with a huge appetite. Least you now know something to keep Knuckles' stomach in check."
Tikal giggled. "Yes Amy. My Knuckie looks very happy right now which also makes me very happy."
Within seconds the cookies on the large plates were gone, Sonic and Knuckles sighing as their bellies were filled with the dessert. Amy and Tikal smiled feeling the sense of accomplishment.
However the two girls noticed that they didn't eat the heart shaped cookies yet.
"Aren't you gonna eat the last one Sonic?" Amy asked.
"Is there something wrong my love? Does the last cookie not satisfy you?" Tikal asked as well.
Sonic and Knuckles turned to look at each other, a grin slowly etching onto their faces as their eyes shifted towards the girls. Both pink hedgehog and orange echidna gulped, seeing their hungry looks.
"Oh, we're gonna eat them alright but first…," said Sonic.
"We need to wash up. And it looks like you two need to as well." Knuckles finished.
Amy yelped feeling Sonic carry her as the blue hedgehog bolted outside. "W-Wait w-where are we going?!"
"We're going to wash up in the river. Not only that, but we'll be doing it the way we're supposed to in nature~." Sonic said seductively. Amy turned bright red upon immediately feeling his hand grasp at her apron, undoing the bow. "Right now I'm gazing at something that still makes me hungry. Get ready~." the Blue Blur added. Amy was full on steaming at this point.
Tikal squeaked as Knuckles carried her into the shower. "K-Knuckie?!"
"It's okay my princess, we're gonna take a shower. You can treat my wounds while we bathe, while I treat you to something even better as a thank you for the cookies~." Knuckles said ending it with an alluring grin. The echidna princess' tail wagged as her tan muzzle was tomato red, feeling his strong hand pull away at the apron.
At the end did the two boys eat the heart-shaped cookies, sharing it with their lovers. The girls meanwhile felt the passion their boyfriends gave them as thanks for the dessert, having lovestruck faces the whole time.
One thing's for sure: Tikal made cookies for Knuckles, he loved them intensely, and it'll be a common thing around their home aside from their healthy diet.
Cookies sure are delicious.
