The Next Morning

It was the morning of the board meeting, Ike had been up the entire night and up until the next morning trying to get Y/N to answer his calls without any success at all.

Isaac was deep in thought, when there was a knock at the door. "Hey, Dad. You ready to go?" Stevie greets entering the apartment.

"Yeah, I am" Isaac replies, "did you instruct the bellhop to move my bags to the family suit?"

"It's scheduled to be done while we're in the meeting" Stevie nods in response, "housekeeping will be done with unpacking them by the time we're finished."

"Good." Isaac grabs his jacket, "let's get going then."

Stevie and Isaac were deep in discussion when they entered the boardroom. Isaac then notices a woman wearing a long black dress-coat standing at the table with her back to them.

Taking a better look at her, Isaac then realizes it was Y/N when he saw her hair colour. It can't be her. Can it? What is she doing here? This meeting was for management only.

"Oh, great. She's already here" Stevie remarks upon seeing her. "Dad, you remember Y/N, right?"

Y/N then turns around to face us. "Yeah, I do" Isaac responds in confusion, "what is she doing here?"

"Well...Dad, I'd like to introduce you to our finance manager, Ms Y/N Engelbrecht" Stevie proudly introduces her to his father.

"I thought you said the person's name was Y/N/N" Isaac looks at Stevie in complete confusion.

"Y/N/N is my nickname. Everyone calls by it instead of my real name, that or either, Ms. E" you polity respond to his remark. "It's a pleasure to meet you Mr Evans" you nod at Isaac in acknowledgement, "if you gentlemen will excuse me...I have to finish arranging these folders before the meeting starts."

Isaac was standing off in a corner, chatting with Stevie but his focus was mainly concentrated on Y/N as she sorted out her work. Not once did Y/N look up from what she was doing, she refused to so much as even make eye contact with him.

When Stevie then excuses himself from the room, Isaac takes a step towards Y/N then but is stopped in his tracks when the rest of meeting's attendees enter into the room.

You were deep in concentration as you delivered the progress of your department in front of the members of the board, your attention going everywhere, except straight in front of you in your refusal to make any form of eye contact with Isaac.

Feeling as if you were about to burst at the seams with the need for this meeting to end so that you could be gone from the room and the man seated in front of you. You did your utmost best to pretend that he wasn't there, yet you were still on edge as you could feel him silently watching you through the entire meeting.

Once the meeting had come to an end, you were busy packing up when you then sensed someone had walked up to you. Thinking it to be Isaac, you calmly brace yourself for a confrontation, only to find that it was David Russo, Isaac's business partner and one of the board members.

"Ms Rogue?" David curiously stares at you, "It's you, isn't it?"

"Yes, Mr Russo, it's me..." you politely smile at him in answer.

"I knew it was you!" David flush you a smile of excitement, "please...call me, David though"

David slowly scans you up and down, "so, you're the head of finance, as well as the headliner for the club."

"You have Stevie to thank for that, yeah..." you chuckle politely at him.

"Well, he sure made a brilliant decision in doing so. Finding a talented and beautiful lady as yourself is a rare thing." David remarks with a silly grin on his face. "Excuse me for asking, but are you perhaps busy this evening?"

"No... tonight is my evening off" you respond a bit confused at his question.

"Great!" David beams at you in excitement, "would you do me the honour of joining me for dinner then?"

Suddenly there's a sound of glass shattering and you hear Stevie loudly gasp, "Dad, your hand!"

Looking towards the commotion, you then notice Isaac's bloody hand. He had somehow broken the glass he had been holding in his hand.

When your eyes moved upward to his eyes, all you saw was pure rage in them. Oh, so now he wants to be the one to be angry. You silently think to yourself in irritation at his behaviour.

Turning your attention back toward David, you smile at him, "Yes, David... I would love to join you for dinner tonight."

Ike silently stands with a bloodied hand, staring daggers at both David and Y/N. I can't believe she's going a date with him!

"Dad, you need to go to the hotel doctor and have your hand looked at..." Stevie then snaps him out of his dark thoughts.

"Huh?" Isaac looks at Stevie as if coming out of a daze, then down to his hand. "Yeah... you're right. I'll see you later..." he remarks, stomping his way out the room.

Once Isaac had gotten his injury bandaged up, he then decides to head to Y/N's office to confront her about what happened in the boardroom.

"Come on in Stevie!" you call out at the knock on your office door.

"Hey Boss-man. What can I do for you?" you smilingly remark when the door swings open but your face immediately changes when you realize who it really was.

"Oh. It's you" you flatly state.

Confused at Y/N's reaction, Isaac asks, "why did you assume I was Stevie?"

"Stevie is the only person my assistant allows through to my office without calling it in first" you reply in a stoic manner. "Figures she would think that privilege applies to you as well" you roll your eyes.

"So, you're going on a date with David tonight" Isaac remarks in irritation.

"Yeah. And turns out, you're my boss" you remark back in response.

Letting out a tense breath, Isaac takes a seat. "Look, Y/N... I really wanted to tell you the truth but, I had to do what was best for the business first."

"Oh" you tilt your head, raising your brow in a challenging manner. "So, lying about your identity and sleeping with your employee is what's best for business?"

"No! That wasn't part of the plan... what happened between use wasn't part of it..." Isaac tries to reason with you. "When I saw you for the first time on that dance floor... there was something about you that just instantly drew me to you. And it definitely wasn't planned."

"It doesn't matter what you did or didn't plan!" you hiss at him in response. "You lied about who you were and to top it off, you're married!"

"No! You've got it all wrong" Isaac tries to get her listen to him but Y/N cuts him off.

"Look, Isaac... Ike, Mr Evans or whatever the hell you go by. I don't really care what you have to say anymore" you tell him.

Just as Isaac was about to say something, Y/N's phone then rings and she dismisses him by taking the call.

Once she was done with the call, Y/N then turns her attention back to him. "If you'll excuse me Mr Evans, but I have a meeting with Teddy about to happen now. I think it's best if you just left."

Getting up from his seat and staring at Y/N in an intimidating manner, "we're not done with this discussion yet..." Isaac remarks, taking his leave of your office then.
