Danger Everywhere
By SparklyTree3876

Rating: PG-13

Genre: Adventure/Romance

Pairings: Jake/Neytiri and Norm/Trudy

Summary: Hi, readers. I would like to present an Avatar/Jurassic Park crossover. It is AU set during the movie and shows Selfridge preparing to carry out a backup plan to unleash dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals on the Na'vi after the battle for Pandora turns in their favor. It takes inspiration from Jonas Grant's 'Apex Predator' and YahBoyParagon's 'Lizards of a New World.' Both crossovers have been left unfinished. It is not known if they will ever be completed, but you should check them out. They are great. Tsu'tey, Trudy, and Grace will be alive in this fic. This crossover starts near the end of the battle and goes from there. It contains pieces of a deleted scene from the movie with my own dialogue added in. There will be a few more scenes as well. I hope you enjoy this crossover. Constructive criticism is welcome.

Chapter 1: A Backup Plan

The midmorning sun beamed its rays on Hell's Gate in late August. Eight tetrapteron flew overhead. Their wings flapped in almost perfect unison. They emitted a serious of squawks and chirps. They headed upward in which they disappeared beyond the horizon. Their squawks and chirps faded into nothing as three more took flight from the top of a tree in front of the back fence. They squawked to themselves.

Three hours had passed since Quaritch and a squadron of Samsons, Scorpions, and his Dragon Assault Ship headed out to confront Jake and his Na'vi army at the Tree of Souls. Marines got reports from him that they had managed to take out most of their enemies with the remnants retreating. Victory seemed imminent until the marines got reports the wildlife were attacking in huge swarms and decimating their forces.

Selfridge paced back and forth in the control room as eight marines yelled over each other while they were gathered around the hologram. He managed to catch 'Viperwolves are attacking the ground forces' and 'Banshees are landing on the gunships and causing them to spin out of control.' His heart was racing so fast that it seemed it would leap out of his chest any second. He squeezed in between two marines.

"Banshees are bringing down gunships," a young marine yelled frantically as he curled his hand into a fist.

"Viperwolves are pursuing and tearing marines apart on the ground," a second young marine added.

"Forces are beginning to retreat," a middle-aged marine added.

"Damn it! I can't believe this is happening!" Selfridge yelled angrily and sighed heavily. "What in the hell is going on out there?"

"We have no idea what is causing this sudden onslaught, sir," a second middle-aged marine admitted. "We should prepare to defend the facility."

Selfridge walked away and went into his office. He approached his desk and grabbed the back of his neck with both hands. He could not believe this was happening. He thought victory was imminent due to humanity's superior firepower. What he never expected was the wildlife to strike back in full force. He had no idea what caused this. He snapped out of his thoughts when he heard a clearing throat. He turned around to face Ronnie.

"Are you okay, sir?" Ronnie asked in concern.

"I am a bit stressed, Ronnie," Selfridge admitted, his body shaking quite a bit. He curled his hand into a tight fist. "I can't believe this is happening! We should have those savages by the balls!"

"I know. It is crazy," Ronnie responded with a fast nod. "Who would've thought the wildlife would attack?"

"Some intelligent species will attack others out of revenge or a grudge," Selfridge commented. "A perfect example would be the elephant. Elephants have actually chased down poachers and killed them to avenge their slaughtered heard members."

Ronnie blew hard. "That is true."

"Let's not forget a mother protecting her young is the most dangerous creature ever," Selfridge suggested.

"Yes, sir," Ronnie agreed. "Earth animal mothers protected their young fiercely for millennia. Pandoran animal mothers are no exception."

Selfridge snorted and bit his lip. "The Pandoran animal mothers are even more dangerous due to their armor and size."

Selfridge turned around to face his desk once more. He ran his fingers through his hair three times. He placed his hands on his sides before looking up at the ceiling. Ronnie came to his side, his eyebrows raising a little bit.

"There is always a Plan B, sir," Ronnie pointed out matter-of-factly.

"That is right," Selfridge said with a chuckle and snap of his fingers. "We've got one." He went behind his desk and opened the top drawer to pull out a folder. "It involves the most fearsome creatures Earth has ever seen."

"The dinosaur," Ronnie said, coming to his boss's side as he opened the folder and laid it on the desk.

"Yes," Selfridge answered while nodding slowly. He tapped his finger on a Tyrannosaurus standing erect on the first page. "When Hell's Gate was being built, another facility was under development one hundred miles south of this area's border. The RDA wanted to clone and breed dinosaurs on Earth, but there was no untouched wilderness. They decided to bring it here."

"It is going to be hard to control such dangerous creatures," Ronnie said seriously. "Remember the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World incidents. Many people got killed. The operators thought they had the animals under control, but they were proven wrong."

"That is not going to be a problem," Selfridge said eagerly. "Clarence Madison designed a special collar that will keep them under our control. Dinosaurs are not the only animals he and his team have cloned. They've cloned other prehistoric animals."

"Like what?" Ronnie asked.

"Pteranodon," Selfridge answered, turning to the second page showing a Pteranodon perched on a tree branch. "They have Dimetrodon too. I feel fortunate to have kept in contact with the facility for all these years."

Selfridge glanced at the third page containing a Dimetrodon with its mouth wide open. He chuckled to himself while rubbing his chin. Ronnie adjusted his glasses before running his tongue all over the inside of his mouth.

"I remember my father telling me the story about Owen Grady training raptors to follow commands. It was an interesting story," Ronnie said warmly.

"My father told me that story too. Dinosaurs coexisted alongside humans for a while after they were rescued from the eruption of Mt. Sibo and were released on the mainland. Then they went extinct again after humanity became desperate for natural resources," Selfridge added. "Before you say anything about the neurotoxin in the arrows affecting the critters, Clarence has taken care of that. He has designed them to tolerate large amounts of it. He has made their bones thicker and stronger. This makes them very resistant to serious injury."

"The company was smart to move this operation here. Nobody knows about it with the exception of several people," Ronnie said, smiling.

"The natives do not even know what a dinosaur is. I forbade Grace from telling them about it. Quaritch said he believed he hit her when he shot at her and the other escapees. She is probably dead by now," Selfridge commented.

"It is quite possible," Ronnie admitted. "Anyway, we should prepare to carry out our plan."

"That is exactly what I am going to do," Selfridge responded in much eagerness. "Come on."

Selfridge and Ronnie headed out of the office. They went toward the back of the control room as the marines continued getting reports from the battlefield.
