Kenny's First Case
Foreword
"Let's just get this straight—it started with murder." In the spring of 831, Kenny Ackerman had spent the last 2 years serving as Uri's watchdog. In a show of really bad judgement, someone killed a nobleman's son and now Kenny needs to find the culprit. To do so he will need the help of a certain sullen brat he'd sworn to leave be, but oh well, shit just can't be helped.
This story does not contain any spoilers past season 3 of the anime or chapter 69 of the manga. Slight deviations from canon (and 'No Regets') will be made.
Rated M for violence and themes/tone. No explicit sexual content.
Levi is nine years old during the events of this story. I know his age has never been set in stone by the creator, Hajime Isayama, but judging by what has been implied this is a little younger than Levi ought to be. There's no better reason for this change than my wanting to explore themes of childhood bonding and power dynamics between Levi and Kenny.
