Well, this is my own dare. The one who I made it with said that it was good (Tung) and henceforth I will publish it 'till it's not anymore.
As you have probably seen in the summary, it is an SI story. If not, it's an SI story. In DxD, with all that's connected with it.
So comment to it, cause it's going to be interesting to write.
There is something to say about sleeping at night during a cold night without covers.
Which is, it sucks.
At least, for me it sucks, and I will, without fail, feel it the day after.
It's also quite annoying waking up and having to start the day while being cold from the sleep.
Think about It: you already have to wake up early for work/school/whatever, which isn't exactly what you would call a happy moment, but then you also wake up shivering from the night before.
Then, after this explanation, it's quite understandable that I was quite happy at being warm.
And, even better, there was a source of warmth against my back, which came from some kind of… blanket which felt much like skin.
Too much like skin.
Far, far too much, and from which snoring could be heard.
I am now very muchawake, and also very much in pain when I fell from the not bunk bed, and I am in very much not my room, beside what is very much not my desk.
"Dio C*n!"
Not my desk which my elbow impacted to, against that funny nerve that hurt like a bitch when hit.
And then a sudden headache came up, which made me roll around on not my floor of not my room.
"AH!"
And a feminine shout came from not my bed, and a-what the hell?!
"Why are you here?! Who are you, God be damn-AH!"
And another headache hit me, stronger than the one before, and a mirror shout came from the redhead in the bed, who grabbed her own forehead and started rolling in not my bedsheets.
And shouted, whatever kind of control gone in front of the single equalizer. Pain.
"Stop saying His name! You are a devil, I am a devil, it hurts us!"
"What the dick are you talking about!? Are you high?! How the fuck did a druggie get inside here?!"
"I am not a druggie!" The young woman shouted back, and then two lithe, black, bat like wings spouted out from the naked back: "See, wings! Real wings! Devil! You have them too!"
I simply blinked, while feeling a strange sensation where the shoulder blades are.
"Uuuuuh…"
The simply is there for a reason, if it wasn't understood.
"Ah!" The young woman bumped her fist on her open hand: "You aren't used to those, right. Passed years since I reincarnated a person, and you are the first who wasn't aware of the supernatural."
"Uuuh…" I tilted my head, while getting up.
"Just…try to…flex that sensation? I think?" The young woman was trying to explain to me in her underwear only while hitting me with things that couldn't be possible, while being in her underwear only, in a room not mine, while she was in her underwear only.
"Why are you here, almost nude?" I wanted some sense of normalcy in the conversation, so that my brain could reboot with a normal statement.
Semi-normal. Understandably normal.
"Oh. You were pierced with a light spear, and after reincarnating you I needed as much skin to skin contact as possible so to pass as much energy as possible to remove any residue. This is also why you are just in boxers, by the way."
What?
"Sigh. I will prepare breakfast, do you want anything?" the words were spoken by me, but in my mind there was only What.
"Oh, nothing, thank you! But could I use the bathroom? I left some clothes near there, along with my change. After you have done your breakfast we will go to my club, where the others are, ok?" She tried to sound gentle, but I wasn't thinking anything other than What.
And so, after nodding once again and leaving at her own means in the small not my bathroom, I took out a moka from… somewhere…
"How the fuck did I know where you were…"
Pulsing from my forehead, fill the base, add the filter, add the powder, close, put on stove.
Opening dresser, most clothes too elegant, put most comfortable, phone on the desk,
Take phone, Samsung, password Liberanos.
"This… This isn't my password though…"
Read messages. Lots of contacts, names I don't remember. Messages sent by…me? are long, too long to be normal.
Prepare coffee cup
"What the…"
Go under mother contact. Read messages. Photos of oriental structures, Japanese. Kanji and hiragana and katakana I can understand.
Never studied Japanese.
Moka boiling, fill cup, turn off stove.
"Where."
Compliments for getting scholarship for university in Japan, in Kuoh.
Kuoh didn't ring a bell, but I knew that I wasn't in Milan anymore.
And devils? What?
"Hey, could you please pass my bag? It's beside the bed!"
Take up bag, heavier than it looked. Normal bag? Smooth at contact, well built.
Open sliding door, not my bathroom, and woman who was sleeping smiles. Gratitude?
"Thank you, I am sorry for taking up so much time, but I will be ready in the next ten minutes."
Too much time? Look phone. Passed fifteen minutes, time passed.
You need to calm down, Ema.
Inhale. Exhale.
"Don't worry, I don't think that I have anything to do that doesn't involve answers."
Too blunt, but it is better than dancing around.
Also, the headache pounding my head had calmed down enough to be able to pierce together a complete thought process without it being ununderstendable.
"Oh. Yeah, yesterday wasn't exactly normal for you, kinda normal." Was she… bashful?
She was a demon, right?
So, either she was trying to act more down to earth to connect with me, or…
Calm down.
"My name is Rias Gremory, and I know that yours is Samuele Benedetti, right?"
…
Yeah, that wasn't my name, but for some reason, it also was.
I…
"Yeah, I would ask how you knew about that, but it would be the last of what I would like to know."
Her eyes did shift around, but then she smiled immediately:
"Well, it is strange to have a student from Italy coming in Japan, is it not?"
The headache started to pound again, which made me sip my own coffee to try somehow to hide it.
"So. Where do we have to go?"
I was taking up my own coat when the young woman came out of the bathroom, with…what could be reasonably called an unreasonable school uniform.
Instead I had what would be considered elegant, as a jacket to put above my blouse, but that wasn't mine.
"To Kuoh Academy, my club to be exact."
The name wasn't new to me.
But I couldn't exactly connect it to anything.
"Alright, let's go then. The faster we get the background, the faster we can move forward, no?"
I needed answers, right now.
So I wore a medical mask that was in a drawer, and-
"Why are you using a mask?" asked the young woman, looking at me like I was an idiot.
"We are in Japan," I explained, stranged by the fact that she was asking that question: "if I reckon they should have stringent laws about COVID restriction, right? So we kind of need the masks."
She blinked, tilted her head, muttered something along the lines of "maybe he was hurt more than I thought", then she replied:
"Covid what? What are you talking about?"
…
I looked at the date on the phone, and my hand around the phone tightened.
April 2021.
Like it was the day before when I went to sleep in my own bed.
"Nothing." I had to try to find out more about where I was, right now. But first, mythical creatures.
So, the mask comes off, even if it had become ingrained to wear it whenever I had to go out.
A far too flimsy key to open the door in front of me, passing beside a washing machine that didn't look anything like the one in my own-
'Stop thinking about it. Before, mythology is real, then the differences, remember.'
Then I was invested by a lot of sounds. Small cars around, along with bikes' bells sounding at every corner.
The runes around were something almost completely alien to me, but at the same time I could understand them:
Takashi's electronics; Tanegashima's bakery; Kuoh's western library.
My breath quickened for a second, until I was able to control myself again and go towards the location of the academy, followed by the young woman who was looking up and around.
"Oi, did you do the homework from Teacher Homaeda?"
"What, we had homework!? Please let me copy from you!"
"No way! You will just do the same I do without changing it!"
Two children went past us, talking in what I could understand was Japanese.
Rubbing my temples, we continued until we reached a crossing, at which I automatically turned my head right before the left.
The clean sidewalk was wide enough to comfortably stay side by side, which made me quite aware of the strangeness of where I was.
This seemed like a big city, that I seemed to have been in, and from what my parents, or sounded like my parents, wrote about, it was known.
But then why didn't I ever hear about it?
Then an enormous building, taller than main building of my university, stood in front of me; its faces were in bricks, while tall windows stood between the columns; two other buildings stood beside it, just as massive.
Kuoh Academy.
The name came to my mind immediately, and alongside it the translation of the golden writing in front of the tall walls dividing the buildings from the street.
Several students went inside, but my companion, for the first time since going out of that apartment, talked:
"I will accompany you to my club building, our professors gave use slips for today, so that you could encounter the others, and I could give you a more exhaustive explanation."
The young woman beside me had almost completely changed from the panicked and embarrassed one that was… in the bed.
She now had her back straight, her smile was small, and her steps secure.
There were some comments, and I saw the young woman beside me scrunch her smile a bit, but I didn't pay attention, due to the confusion I was feeling since that morning.
We quickly walked beside the lavish building, and went to its back, through a small forest, until we reached what I could call an old school.
Smallish in size, with a broken clock on top, and several plants on its faces, the white paint was still bright enough, with not a lot of visible crack on them, while its windows were big, something unusual for me.
The young woman beside me opened the door and led me in, and inside it felt like entering to my grandmother house: the wallpaper had intricate drawings, while the furniture was of an almost black, shiny wood.
Also, for some reason, there was a something that peeked out behind a white, almost transparent curtain that made me turn towards the young woman, who was… lighting on some candles despite it being perfectly lighted inside:
"Why is there a shower behind that curtain?"
Of all the things in my mind, that was something that came up like a sore thumb.
The woman blinked once, then twice, then she said like it was the most normal thing in the world:
"Well, after six hours of school and then sometime three of studying, before going for contracts I like to shower, instead of doing it after."
Whatever-the-fuck were the contracts, it wasn't that my question, and I made sure to show it:
"Why is it there, and not behind a normal door?"
The young woman tilted her head, like I was the weirdo for pointing out the completely irrational designs of her own schoolclub.
Hell, weren't we in Japan? How the hell could it be permitted?!
Instead, the young woman in front of me, with that head tilted, answered like I was the moron:
"Why is it strange? It's quite normal, and there isn't anything to be shy about."
…This doesn't help, lady.
Maybe my lack of answer, or maybe it was my eyebrow rising more, maybe it was some kind of "devil" thingy, but then an "ah!" came out of her mouth, her head moved up, and her fist came on her palm;
Then a voice from behind made me jolt, and turn towards a long haired young woman who walked inside the club, followed by two other students:
"Yes, club-president, didn't you just say that Mister Benedetti had just turned? It took little Kiba a good six months to get used to your quirks, you know? And he still can't get used to your own… interesting tastes in literature. Oh my, we have a guest!"
Rias Gremory
Damn you Akeno!
Stop smiling! Stop laughing, stop talking, stop breathing!
Aaaaaah!
Allright, calm down Rias, one-two-three, smile and calm!
"Good morning to you as well, Himejima fuku-buchou. Are Kiba and Koneko with you?"
Come on Rias! Back straight, chest out, hand under chin, smile calmly!
"Yes, buchou, we are here." Came the polite voice of my Knight, while the cutest devil in the whole underworld simply went for her part of the sofa, took a sweet from the ones I prepared for her on the table, and started munching without any care.
Come on, Koneko! You can at least be more open, right? Right?
"Hello there, you must be our new peerage member. I'm Kiba Yuuto, Knight of Rias Gremory, it's a pleasure to encounter you." And Kiba comes to the assist, thank you!
I didn't pump my arm when Samuele turned his back towards me and, after a bit of hesitation, clasped Kiba's hand.
I didn't pump it again when the deep voice of my new, and forever only, pawn spoke up, bowing slightly:
"I am Em…Samuele Benedetti, it's a pleasure to meet you as well."
Akeno, stop laughing behind Kiba.
"Ara-ara, aren't you the courteous one? I am Akeno Himejima, the Queen of this peerage, Benedetti-senpai. Or maybe I should call you kouhai?"
Akeno smiled beatifically while saying this, but I could see her gaze behind her closed eyes, and it was all but innocent.
Samuele though simply answered, his tone still courteous:
"I would say that you are the senior one, after all my own expertise is really not in this kind of situation." Turning towards me he said, serious: "I take these are the other devils, right?"
Well... he is taking this remarkably well.
Like, he is unfazed. Completely unfazed.
Let's go on, then! Maybe it won't be harder, and I am ready!
"Yes, they are. Akeno, as she said, is my Queen, Kiba is my Knight, while I am the King of the peerage."
See Akeno? I am able to explain to an uninitiated what we are!
"And what about the nin-young girl on the couch? Why is she here?"
Ah.
"Koneko Toujou. Rook."
Come on Rias, you can do it.
The university student hummed at that, then he took a sit himself and rubbed his naked chin, in a way my dad did while she was thinking.
He probably had reached an illumination, because he stopped and, after an explosive exhale, said:
"I cannot understand what you all are talking about."
I tilted my head, while Akeno tittered on the background:
"I understand your names enough, but I dunno what "rook" or "knight" or "queen" mean, or what is a "peerage". I am just extremely confused by this situation, and I really need to understand what's happening."
Ah, yeah. True.
"Well" I started, my back as straight as possible while my smile was on easygoing: "I think you know, from your interests, who Adam and Eve were and how they were casted from Eden. But I don't think you know who the snake was."
"Lucifer?" came the calm voice, his hand rubbing his chin, while his eyes were focused on…the corner of the table?
But the answer was right, incredibly enough.
"How did you know? It's not that known in the human sphere, if I remember correctly."
"Milton's Paradise Lost. Lucifer after his rebellion was cast down to Hell, and as a revenge he corrupted the ones the Tyrant had asked for them to serve."
Tyrant? Maybe he is talking about Him, but it was true.
"That was the start of the war between the Devils and the Angels, yes. The angels of the first rebellion became the ancestors of the 72 pillars. Of which I am part of."
His eyes focused on me again, his mellow voice being followed:
"'And Gremory comes as a woman riding a camel of the rank of a Duke.' That's all I remember from the little I read about the seventy two keys of Solomon."
Hnnn. I know about that book. Damn you ancestor, couldn't you be less of a pervert?
At least he doesn't seem to remember all the description.
I clapped my hands, making sure to not make him think too much about that ancestor of mine, and continued:
"So, do you know what Fallen Angels are? If not I can always explain it!"
Come on, let me explain it! I prepared it!
"I think… they were banished because they gifted humanity with knowledge they shouldn't be aware of?"
Yes! I can explain it!
"The Fallen Angels rebellion came much later than our own, and they are the less populous faction. They are under the guide, since the first Fell, of the Governor General Azazel, and differ from the normal angels with their wings, black."
Come on Rias, the candles are making you epic! Continue!
"Since the first humans civilizations rose, the three heavenly factions were fighting the Great War. For millennia, until, after the last great battle where the last Satans, Lucifer, Beelzebub, Leviathan and Asmodeus, died, alongside many Seraphims, Cadres and pillars. Right now we are in a lull of the War."
Well, it was more due to the two big-ass dragons, but it's better to not overload him with that.
I don't think that his sacred gear could be, in any way, connected to a dragon.
"It was…" he was staring at nothing while speaking, focused on a memory: "There was a fallen angel, or someone that from your description sounded like one… I don't remember well."
He sounded so confused by that. Not surprising, but still pitying to see and shaming for me.
"Her fake name was Amano Yuuma. She was posing as a waitress in a bar you usually went for breakfast, probably to spy you. Then, after asking you out on a date, she killed you in the nearer park. I arrived too late to save you, but I was able to revive you by using all my pawn pieces after you asked it."
Really Rias? You know that it wasn't exactly like that, don't you?
"Why did you revive me, then?"
"hmm?"
His black eyes were boring into me, while his mouth was set in an emotionless line, while repeating his question:
"If you had a limited number of pieces, what made me so special that you would use them on me?"
My heart become a pit for a moment, and so I had to bullshit, or at least felt like so.
"You made a wish, yesterday." My mouth felt like it was filled with sand: "You wanted to live, and you had one of our pamphlets." I was failing to keep up with his stare: "And so, due to both your potential Sacred Gear and my own duty as the protector of this city, I resurrected you." And then I bit the inside of my cheek.
After I ran out of air, some endless moments passed.
He continued to stare at me, but… not at me?
He then exhaled from the nose, and then bowed his head low:
"Thank you for saving my life. Now, you were talking about quaquaraqua?"
Ok, he doesn't hate me!
"Sorry, could you repeat?"
Thanks… the Satans, the Satans!
Even if he was a practicing Catholic, He isn't someone who would be happy right now.
"What is a "sacred gear"? Because you have said it was one of the reasons for which you… saved me."
Oh. Oh!
Yeah, I wanted to know it too.
"Well. During the Great war, several beings came out to make mayhem, and usually it was the Angels that took care of them. Some of the oldest Devils alive have made the hypothesis that the Gears were created to avoid any, shall we say…return from those beings."
"That's…rational, yeah. But then why should I have one of those beings?" He started scratching slowly his chi, while staring at a corner of the table.
"Well." I started biting the inside of my cheek: "We, the Devils, think that it was to make them usable by the Church and its Exorcists." Here he rose a brow, but he seemed to understand that it would have been to long of an explanation so he let me continue without a sound: "And maybe it was to protect humanity from the supernatural. But we don't really know. We are still enemies, even if the lull has been centuries long."
"And you think I have one of those in me? How are you so sure?" his eyes never left that corner, while his voice was calm, not like his whole life had completely changed in a day.
"You smell of Dragon and Ash." Came the even less emotional voice of the cutest Rook ever existing, which made me quirk an eyebrow.
It's not unheard off to change the elemental disposition, but flipping it completely?
Yeah, his death did do something.
"Dragons are only present in Sacred Gears, no other place." I continued, now paying close eye to the young man in front of me: "No other way an human could have that kind of feeling, not an unknown one at least."
"But." He opposed my exclamation, then thought about it and continued: "If it's a "weapon" to protect humanity, how can it be used?"
Strange, in his situation I would have liked to know more.
"Usually Sacred Gears first activation is triggered by strong emotions, above all if it's something with a rather proud entity, which a Dragon is, unluckily for us." Kiba chimed in, his smile as pleasant as always.
"I don't think I am able to feel a whole lot right now, to be serious with you." Samuele breathed out, while his shoulder slumped slightly.
"Can we try this tomorrow? And continue the talk? If you have a book for me to read over today so I at least will be able to ask pondered question instead of walking blind?"
"Oh. Sure!" I replied immediately, and took a book from my library.
It seems that he was feeling something, after all!
He bowed his head slightly after receiving the admittedly small book, and then with a sigh he got up.
"I will go back to…my apartment, to read this. When will I be able to encounter you all again?" he asked, his eyes tired looking while he firmly kept his stare on me, his face set into a flat frown.
"Well." Akeno was the one to answer, a finger on her cheek: "Tomorrow in the afternoon, I don't think Kaichou-san would like for us to skip another lesson hour. So would 3 p.m. be good for you?"
"Allright, tomorrow at fifteen. Have a good day all of you." His soft voice came out, then he silently got out of the building.
After I was sure he was no longer around, I crumpled on my arms and thanked the Satans for not having the tall man that I had let down tear me a new one.
"Well, it went well." Kiba, I know that you like to not be hard on me, but really, it's not necessary.
"Ara-Ara, he was far less lively than I expected. I had wanted to be her teacher, instead I find myself in a conundrum" Akeno, not the time.
"Feel different." Yeah, I know Koneko.
But it was my fault for arriving late, wasn't it? And so, I would have to take care of him.
So I had sworn, and I will keep my promise to someone I failed.
"Koneko, can I ask you a favour?" I turned to my Rook, making sure to show how serious I was.
Samuele
"I am a slave, uh?"
As I suspected, and didn't want to ask, these "peerages" were slavery hidden in a deal for your soul.
I couldn't possess anything, I couldn't do any kind of contract, and I couldn't ascend the hierarchy of their society without the assent of my master.
And if I dared to fight against them, there was a written rule to hunt these "stray devils" to Earth's end.
Putting down the book, I used my fingers to fix my glasses, only for them to go into my eyes.
"Wait, how am I able to see this well then?"
I started laughing at this.
"eheh, I can see."
It started slow.
"eheheheheheheh."
The laugh came through, louder and louder.
"EheheheEhehehEh."
I was starting to cry, while my back hit the bench.
"EheHeheEheeHeh!"
My sides were hurting so much, while my thought were just on how much INSANE this all was!
"EEEHeeehehehehEHHEeheh!"
I am a slave! I am in another world! I took over a body! I don't need glasses!
It's a tragicomedy!
My lungs were hurting, my tears were continuing to come through while my nose was running, and the multicolored sky was mocking me!
Wait. Multicolored?
"While it's good to take one's death with levity, I also think that it's a bit too much to do so in front of one's own executioner, devil."
The man was as tall as me, an hard face, was in a grey trench coat and a fedora, and had a pair of black, bird-like wings sprouting from his back.
There was also a spear in his hand that radiated a pale blue light, lazily pointed down.
My laughter forgotten, and my mind becoming clearer, I slowly got up with the book in my right hand.
"Well, don't you have anything to say to your executioner, Devil?"
I, without wanting to, rose a brow, even if my heart was beating strongly in my chest, and said:
"Well, could you please explain what I am accused for? I never stood trial, after all, and I would like to make an appeal."
A ghost of a smile came about, while I was glancing around to find a way to fight him.
Spear, probably very much deadly for me, need to find a way to put him in a worse situation.
"Oh? Raynare never pointed out that you were a jokester during your date. She said you were quite courteous, in fact, so much that you let her kill you with a smile on your face."
"I will not move, if it was God's will to die by one of his angels, even if she fell from grace, then I will take it."
Charging him while he is armed is laughable, and the same would be trying to run away while he can fly.
I smiled placidly, a brow risen, while my left leg was trembling slightly:
"It was a first date, after all. Bit of anxiety. Now I know she isn't quite trusty, so I can be more of myself."
The spear is long, maybe the trees? Yeah, best chances. If I die, better trying to take him down than with a spear in my back.
The man laughed for a moment, and I was preparing to bolt, then he chortled out in between:
"That she is, but she was adamant about your preparedness to die for a God that will never care. Now I find you like this, quite the change. Why?"
"Faith isn't something to be based on, to be explained, it just is, Yuuma-san. Why should dying scare me, if I have faith?"
Now that I have a chosen field, I need to reach it, but how? Running? No, will throw the spear at me before it. Need to distract him.
I started walking to the left, slow while keeping the eye contact, and still smiling I answered, my mouth dry:
"I am simply not that man anymore, mister fallen. Also, could my soon to be executioner give me a name?"
The man smile a bit more truthfully, and bowing slightly said:
"I am Dohnaseek of the Grigori, fallen for the sin of Lust, and I will be the last being you will see."
The book. Throw the book at him and run for the trees, and annihilate.
My heart was going strong, while my smile became a tad less jovial, when I shouted:
"You already know my name, so I can just say catch!"
I threw the book at him, and at the same time I started running into the small spot of trees.
While the fallen shouted profanities when the hard book hit him, I was already in, in far less time than expected.
But I didn't have time to think about satisfaction, while a fire was going strong in me.
After what I could describe as minutes, but were but a few moments, I turned with a tree against my left foot, prepared to dodge.
I heard the shout coming from in front of me, so I immediately dodged to the right, just before I yelped due to a winged man, and much more importantly, his spear hitting the tree I was just before.
"Coward! Did becoming a devil make you such!?"
That infuriated me, while we started circling each other between the trees, my feet kept into guard as my eyes on the ground.
I was a slave, yes.
"Look at you, fallen." I drawled, mocking, while preparing to dodge into the now known ground: "From a guardian to a murderer. But maybe it was why you fell, wasn't it?"
With a cry, he charged again, wildly, and I dodged again using another tree as a spring, making him hit painfully the bark.
I was a body snatcher, yes.
"Bloodlust, wasn't it? You started hunting the innocent, mayhaps? Women, old men, children?"
At the last one he cried again, his control forgotten, while the fire inside me became stronger against this criminal.
"Shut up! You know nothing!"
He was a rabid dog, who needed to be put down for good. And I wouldn't let him remain here to hunt the innocent and the sinless.
I was in an unknown country, in an unknown world, yes.
"I know enough!" I shouted strongly, feeling the sound reverberate in my throat, and he charged again.
I couldn't dodge, but I won't surrender.
I will not bow down to anyone!
And I will administer justice against everyone who incur in my Wrath.
[Burn him down, and show me that you are worthy of my power]
[Boost!]
I felt clearer than ever, I could see where he would go.
But I couldn't dodge, I knew that.
But so couldn't he.
I just had to move myself enough so that the spear would scratch my left side, using a root to move forward, towards the fallen himself.
So, while the spear traced a line on my side, my left, armoured in a red gauntlet, fist would hit him in the center of his chest.
I felt a strong pain from my thumb, but I also felt a resounding crack from where I punched, and he fell down on his back.
I am slave
[Boost!]
My vision was cleared, while my heart was burning in a way that I felt was good, and the that fire wanted for me to started punching the downed man.
And so I did.
I am thief.
[Boost!]
I didn't care if my left hand had something wrong.
I am alien.
[Boost!]
I didn't care if I heard a voice from somewhere, or if now I had a red gauntlet protecting my left arm.
I am no-one.
[Boost!]
I just wanted for this fucker to die for trying to kill me, and then find whoever-
"P-please…s-stop."
My risen left first stopped when I heard those words, and I truly looked down to what I was doing.
The man in front of me had lost several of his teeth, was bleeding from his right eye, and had trouble bleeding, and had a broken nose, and had a pleading, suffering look that I had caused.
I leapt from him, and then looked down at my hands, both wet, both red, both unknown but familiar.
[Reset!]
"What am I doing…" I crumpled down, in front of the man that I was killing, and I couldn't take my eyes off from him.
I looked down at my hands again, numb, and I repeated: "What have I done…?"
"Congratulation on your awakening of your Sacred Gear, Samuele."
I turned my head slowly towards the source of that voice, and it was the read-head woman, who didn't care I had almost killed a man, or that I had almost died again, but that I had become more in her eyes.
She was smiling for some reason I couldn't understand, and then she rose one of her hands, I cannot remember which.
Then, with a red light and the smell of sulfur, the man screamed for but a moment, then he was gone.
"I am sorry for arriving late, I will not let anyone touch you again."
I shivered for a moment, uncontrollably, but couldn't say anything more, not even when a red circle came to life under my body.
I just wanted this all to end.
