The grind took me some time but let's be honest. It's entirely worth it. As a ghost, my lifespan is basically unlimited so time is not much of a concern. The only thing that matters is that I have to become stronger.

At first, I was afraid because this world was scary and full of beings who wants to eat me for breakfast. But now that doesn't matter. I can get into a dungeon and don't walk out of it until I become overpowered. What's the difference if It will take me a year, ten or a million? Cannon is still so much into the future that I don't even know what to do to not die of boredom before it.

Right now I'm killing the tenth zombie which will complete the quest.

[You deal 16 dmg]

[You deal 16 dmg]

[Magic Arrow levelled up to lv.7]

[Mana Manipulation (Novice) levelled up to lv.10]

[You levelled up]

[Quest Completed]

Enter the dungeon and fight some monsters for the first time.

Objective: Enter [Zombie] dungeon and kill 10 zombies. (Completed)

Reward: 100 coins and 5 levels.

New skills obtained.

[Magic barrier (Novice)] lv.1/100

Creates a transparent barrier around the user that absorbs both magical and physical damage. Barrier strength: 10% max HP. Cost: 30 MP/minute.

So now I finally have some defensive spell. Very useful, can potentially save my ass one day. It only blocks 10% of my max HP, but it will most likely increase when it levels up enough times.

[You can now evolve]

Evolve? What do you mean?

With quest reward host achieved level 10. It's the first milestone that allows users to evolve their race increasing their stats.

Oh alright. How do I do it?

[Evolve?]

[Y/N]

Well. Yes.

Then I felt as if ants were crawling under my non-existing skin. It's very uncomfortable, but not something that would make me lose consciousness out of pain or something.

After a few minutes, it stopped and I noticed some changes in my body. To be precise I grew taller and look around 14 years old. The funniest part is that I can tell that I'm starting to look like I did in my past life.

[Congratulations. Host evolved into Lesser Spirit granting user +2 to all stats.]

Show me my status.

Name: ?

Stat Points: 45

I'm getting better. So my int determines my MP, my END HP. What about the other stats?

STRENGTH is self-explanatory. ENDURANCE is your defence and HP, DEXTERITY is how fast you can move and allows you to do more nimble movements. INTELLIGENCE is all about MP and MP REGEN while WISDOM increases spell damage. There are some spells that require high INT and WIS to even learn them. Lastly LUCK gives higher chances for critical attacks.

I see. Let's distribute those 45 points then. I put 3 into all stats beside INT, END and WIS to make them 10. Then I add 8 points into END to make it 15. It's always better to have more HP, I might be a mage but I don't wish to die if some enemy gets too close to me. Lastly, I distribute the remaining points evenly between my INT and WIS.

And now my stats look like that.

System. What are coins for?

Finally! I was waiting until you ask. Coins are used to buy items and many other things in the system shop.

With that, I opened up a shop menu and started looking through things which I can buy.

Which were fucking none. Everything was greyed out which means that I did not have enough coins to buy them. For real even a fucking candy costs more than I have.

I was fighting zombies for a few hours. Risking my life while I didn't get any loot and all the money I gained is not enough to buy candy.

I feel cheated. I know that I shouldn't be but still.

Stop crying and let's go back to work.

Nah, not now. Let's go back for now and see how those guys in the village are doing.

I use [ID DESTROY] and look as a whole dungeon is being turned into dust as if the great grape himself snapped his fingers.

In a few seconds I appeared in the same village I was in before entering the dungeon.

Then walking on the streets started to plan for my future. I need someone powerful to name me, preferably maybe even soul king. Meanwhile level up in a dungeon, maybe kill some hollows here and there who knows.

Will I stop noble clans from sealing soul king? Hell no! That guy is too strong and unpredictable to be left unchecked. I would rather think of a way to stop Yhwah than leaving such danger lurking nearby.

Since I am level 10 which is a recommended upper limit of a zombie dungeon I probably should go to another one but it's not unlocked yet.

To unlock the next dungeon you have to kill a boss in the current one. Boss will appear when you will kill every monster inside the dungeon.

We will do it later. Let's have a break for now.

Then I felt shivers as if some predator was looking at me. Consider it bullshit ability, but when you fight enemies in a dungeon that might be hiding in the corner waiting for an opportunity you tend to gain such weird abilities like a sixth sense or something like that. Of course, this never was actually useful yet because zombies are way too dumb to try something like that but I am sure that this will become crucial in the future.

After a few seconds, the feeling dissipated and I got a quest that explained what the hell just happened.
