"Undead"

At the current time, Yu could be seen narrowing his eyes up towards what looked to be a television screen that was attached to the wall of the building he was in. His attire had changed to that of a button-up white shirt, long sleek black pants, and a pair of black leather shoes. The reason for his change of attire was simple, his new job.

It had been around four hours or so since he sealed the Lizard Undead, and in that time frame he had already accomplished quite a few other things. Most importantly, he had managed to score himself a new job at a local cafe in the city, which also acted as the owner's house where the living area was up on the second floor.

He was very lucky that the owner of this cafe allowed him to try working here despite not having something like a resume, and considering his age, he was very damn lucky. The owner said that he'd determine whether or not he could continue working depending on how well he does during the hours for today.

If he did, he not only would have gotten himself a job, but a place to stay as well since the owner was nice enough to offer him a place to stay considering the fact that Yu had absolutely no other place to go. He could try and book a hotel room, but those could be expensive, not to mention his young age.

Anyway, what Yu was looking at right now was a news report about the recent events, and pretty much everyone else in the cafe was also watching out of curiosity. When Yu saw the news and the censored images that were shown, he unconsciously clenched his fists knowing that he could have prevented many of those if he hadn't hesitated.

'Damnit, I was such a coward…'

'Don't be so hard on yourself.' Adam spoke up. 'Your fear and hesitation was nothing abnormal. You were forced into this situation without even being given a choice, and you know that you can't save everyone, you are only one person.'

'I guess…'

"Yu, the next order is ready!"

"Coming!" Snapping out of his thoughts, Yu quickly went to the counter area where the owner had just finished brewing up a few cups of coffee before placing them onto a tray that Yu quickly yet steadily picked up. "Table thirteen, got it."

The owner looked to be a relatively old man who was probably in his mid-fifties or perhaps early sixties. He wore a form of attire very similar to the one Yu was wearing now, along with having short black hair that was white on the back and sides, with the black hair at the top being combed to the right.

"Nice work so far, you've done very well. I'm impressed." The owner smiled as Yu walked back over after having handed the cups of coffee to the designated individuals. "Not only are you a quick learner, but you also seem to possess incredible stamina. You don't look tired at all."

Yu merely smiled. "It's nothing much."

The truth was that Yu found it very difficult to actually feel tired anymore, it seemed like becoming an Undead actually vastly improved his ability to keep working without exhausting himself. He did feel slightly winded after non-stop working, not to mention the fight, but it didn't really affect him too much in the long run.

Now that he thought about it though, perhaps the reason why was because Undead were immortal, which was very much plausible. The other being that it's pretty much necessary considering they'd be fighting twenty-four-seven, it was in their nature to fight each other after all, that's why they were created.

It was now the next day as Yu quickly got back to work, and he had just finished for the day and had decided to go out to explore the city a bit more. Since he was going to be calling this city his new home for who knows how long from now, he might as well get used to it and try to familiarize himself with it the best he can.

"Not again…" Yu frowned when he saw a number of kids as well as adults, whom he could only guess were their parents, running away from what looked to be a nearby park of sorts. Seeing this, he quickly went into a sprint and began running in the direction they came from. 'I'm not getting visions though… whatever, I need to check it out!'

Once he found himself running on a path that led deeper into the park, along with their being no one in sight, he summoned forth the Chalice Rouzer before taking out a card from the holder and scanning it through the buckle in a swift motion.

"Henshin!"

[CHANGE]

His body was enveloped by that same black static energy as Chalice's armour quickly materialized around him, Yu didn't stop running during the transformation though as his speed gained a sudden large boost upon having transformed. Due to this, he was quickly approaching what sounded like numerous crashes.

However, once Yu arrived and saw what was causing all of the commotion, he could only blink in complete confusion at what he was seeing. Unlike the Undead that he was expecting to see, he was greeted by what looked to be a massive monster, if you could even call it that, that was composed of three trash cans that made up its body.

'Are those… fins?' Yu thought with confusion upon seeing the yellow fins that seemed to sprout from either side of the monster's head. Shaking his head, Yu looked around at the rest of the area to see what else there was. 'Those girls seemed to be fighting it… and is that a mermaid?'

True to those words, he saw two females, one with long blonde hair tied into a ponytail and another with thick purple hair tied into twin-tails. Both females seemed to be wearing rather interesting clothing, which he honestly found hard to describe in mere words.

Aside from that though, in the nearby man-made pond or fountain area, there seemed to be a pink-haired mermaid watching as all the chaos ensued. He wasn't entirely sure what to think of it, and the humanoid blue crab that was off to the side didn't help in that either.

"What the hell is this…?"

'I'm… not sure.'

Even Adam was at a loss for words.

"Yarane-da!" The monster seemed to scream, for whatever the reason, as literal tin cans seemed to fire out from its mouth and arms towards the two females. It was an… interesting sight to say the least. Literal tin cans were being fired like rockets towards the girls.

"Coral!" The blonde out of the two seemed to shout in concern as the barrage of cans were heading straight towards her. Since the girl in question had her back turned, it didn't seem like she was going to be able to react in time to the attack. "Watch out!"

"Not on my watch!"

Both girls seemed to blink when an unfamiliar voice entered their ears, though they widened their eyes when a figure suddenly dropped down between the cans and where Coral was standing. They both widened their eyes, along with the crab, as the figure began cutting down all the cans with incredible speed.

Chalice used his weapon to quickly slice apart any of the cans that flew towards them, and each time that he did, the can that was sliced would give off a small explosion of smoke. It didn't take long before Chalice finished cutting every single one that was flying towards them.

"I-It's you…!" The girl known as Coral seemed to exclaim as Chalice raised an eyebrow under his helmet in confusion, he didn't recall ever seeing this girl before. He definitely would have remembered meeting someone with hair as thick as that, especially if they wore that flashy attire she had on.

The mermaid in the water also watched on with surprise. "Wh-Who's that?!"

"Wh-Who are you?!" The blue crab shouted in disbelief. "You're no Precure!"

"Precure?" Yu repeated in confusion before shrugging it off. Perhaps this guy was referring to the two girls behind him, but that didn't matter right now, the monster in front of him needed to be dealt with first. "This is a strange monster, and a big guy no less…"

"W-Watch out!"

Chalice narrowed his eyes when the monster suddenly lunged at him, throwing down its right trash-can of an arm towards him. Chalice then crossed both arms in front of him to block, and when the fist made contact, they were all surprised to see that Chalice managed to stop the attack in its tracks.

'That's some decent power.' Chalice mused inside his mind as he felt the force behind the punch push him back a bit, but it wasn't anything he couldn't handle. With a small cry, Chalice threw both his arms outwards, sending the monster flying and crashing onto its back. "Hyaa~!"

"Alright, that was amazing!" The blonde girl grinned as both her and Coral stood beside Chalice, who merely glanced at them with a curious look behind his helmet. The blonde then looked towards Coral. "Coral, finish it!"

"Right!" With a strong nod, Coral took out what looked to be a strange pink stick or something, it honestly looked like one of those magical girl toys that you'd find in the girl's section of the toy store. Chalice blinked when she blew into the top of the strange device. "Heart Rouge Rod!"

Chalice then watched in confusion as Coral blew into existence what looked to be a purple bow of sorts with a neon purple heart at the center of it, which landed on the ground in front of her. Coral then proceeded to sit down on the heart as it stretched out in an array of multi-coloured hearts.

"Pretty Cure Fluffy Coral Diffusion!" Coral then fired out towards the monster numerous pink hearts that completely encased it before exploding in a cloud of sparkles. In said cloud, Chalice could see a line of normal trash cans suddenly appear before flying off somewhere in the park. "Victory!"

'What… did I just witness?!'

'I cannot give an answer to that, I'm rather perplexed as well…'

"Alright, now I'm one step closer to queendom!" Chalice heard the mermaid that was off to the side suddenly mutter to herself in a rather hushed shout, her words greatly confused him though. The mermaid then looked over towards him. "Wait, who are you?!"

Just as Chalice had started to walk away, the mermaid had called out to him, causing him to momentarily stop and look back over his shoulder. He then saw the two girls also coming over towards him, although he was confused to see that they no longer looked like what they did a few seconds ago.

"Thanks for all the he-!"

"It's you, from the other day!" The purple-haired girl that was standing beside the now orange-haired female suddenly shouted as she took a step towards Chalice, who merely turned his body slightly to look back at them properly. "You were the one that saved me from that monster!"

'The other day…?' Chalice blinked under his mask as he took in the girl's features. Both females were now wearing turquoise school uniforms, with one having orange hair and the other purple. He looked at the girl that just spoke to him for a second before widening his eyes in realization. "You're… You're the girl that was almost-."

"Yes… that's me!" The girl in question seemed to nod her head, although Chalice did notice the quick flash of fear that appeared on her face when she seemed to recall the memory. He couldn't blame her, experiencing a near-death experience was not something one can get over easily.

"You know him, Sango?" The orange-haired girl asked curiously as Sango nodded in response. "I see, then it's nice to meet you! I'm Manatsu Natsuumi!"

"S-Sango Suzumura, a pleasure to meet you." The purple head also made sure to introduce herself after hearing Manatsu doing so. "Pl-Please tell us your name!"

"Oh, and this is Laura!" Manatsu then held up what looked to be a strange phone-like device up to him, Chalice blinking when he saw the pink-haired mermaid suddenly inside of said device. She was giving him a suspicious and curious look from inside.

"...Kamen Rider Chalice, just call me Chalice."

"Kamen… Rider?"

"Chalice?"

Both Manatsu and Sango seemed confused upon hearing his response, they both seemed to give each other confused looks before looking back to see that Chalice had put away his weapon and was now just looking at them with his arms crossed over his chest.

"Chalice…" Sango seemed to mutter the name under her breath before shaking her head. "I-I wanted to thank you for saving me, if it weren't for you-!"

"Don't worry about it." Chalice merely waved it off. "At least you're safe, that's what cou-... g-gahh~!"

"Chalice?!"

Both Manatsu and Sango shouted in concern when Chalice suddenly began gripping his helmet in pain as he stumbled back and forth. As both females were going to approach and try to help him, Chalice suddenly lunged and took them both to the ground as quickly as possible.

Before either of them could ask anything, the force of something running past them suddenly caused a gust of powerful wind to stir as both girls had to close their eyes due to it. When it calmed down, Chalice got off of them and glared towards the source of the issue.

"Wh-What's that?!" Manatsu cried out in both fear and surprise. "Is it a Yaraneeda?"

Laura also looked confused from within the device. "No, it's not…"

"It-It's just like…!" Sango seemed to feel a sense of dread wash over her as the monster made itself known. While the monster in front of them was far different compared to the one she saw yesterday, it gave her that same feeling of death and despair. "N-Not again!"

'Category 4 of Clubs, the Rhinoceros…'

True to those words, the beast in front of them was none other than the Rhinoceros Undead. It had a large muscular body covered in both naturally tough dark-green hide along with various darker shaded plates on multiple parts of its body, on top of having silver armour pieces in various locations as well.

Of course, true to its name, it had a large horn on its head that was both quite large as well as incredibly sharp from the looks of it. The monster stomped and began walking towards them, each step shook the ground and caused cracks in the pavement each time it stepped.

"You all get out of here, I'll deal with this!" Chalice exclaimed as he summoned forth his Chalice Arrow, getting ready upon seeing the Rhinoceros grunting and panting heavily at him. The fact that it was scraping its feat against the ground, its next move was obvious. "Get going!"

While he certainly would love help against the Undeads, he didn't want to involve these two, mainly because they had no idea what was truly happening and how bad the Undead could really be. Plus, this was his job, and his job alone.

"W-We can't leave you to do this alone!"

"Sango's right, we can fight too!" Manatsu agreed with her friend wholeheartedly as she seemed to prepare herself to do whatever it was she was going to do. She was stopped though as the Rhinoceros Undead gave a roar before charging at them. "G-Get out of the way!"

All of them barely managed to dodge out of the way as the Rhinoceros full-charged at them with incredible speed, they could just feel the amount of wind that picked up each time it ran past them. It was so powerful that the wind streams seemed to almost even knock them off their feet.

Chalice gritted his teeth as the Rhinoceros Undead smashed into a tree, completely shattering the base of the tree, along with completely uprooting the left-over stump as the rest of the rest soon crashed onto the ground with a loud thud. The Rhinoceros may only be a Category 4, but its tackles are a force to be reckoned with.

"It's coming again!" Sango quickly shouted as both her and Manatsu jumped out of the way. "Chalice?!"

[CHOP]

Chalice quickly inserted a card into his buckle as his hand was covered in a powerful energy, he then sent a vertical chop down when the Rhinoceros got close. To his horror, the attack did barely anything as Chalice soon found the Rhinoceros's shoulder carrying him across the entire park and into a nearby wall.

"Chalice!"

Both girl's shouted his name in concern, widening their eyes when they saw Chalice embedded into the now cracked wall. They saw that the Rhinoceros was going in for another charge, though they were relieved when Chalice managed to pry himself out of the wall just in time to avoid it.

"Sango, let's transform!

"Okay!"

As Chalice forced himself to stand back up, he looked over to see both Manatsu and Sango seemingly preparing to do something with the strange toy-like objects that were in their hands. He didn't watch for long though as he quickly had to roll to the side to avoid another charge.

{Precure Transformation Sequence}

Pretty Cure Tropical Change!

Let's makeup! Bling!

Cheeks! Eyes! Lips! Hair! Dress!

Both girls soon changed once again as they soon took on the forms that Chalice had first seen them in when he arrived. Both of them gave off bright glows during their transformations, having finished off said transformations with each of them doing a unique pose.

"Joyful everlasting summer, Cure Summer!"

"Glittering jewels, Cure Coral!"

Chalice managed to withstand another charge as he was sent skidding back across the ground, barely managing to stay on his feet as both his arms felt like they were going numb. The Rhinoceros was absolutely relentless in its attacks, and it didn't look like that was going to change anytime soon.

"Get Chalice, Coral!" Summer quickly jumped up and sent a downward kick towards the rushing Rhinoceros Undead, Coral nodded before rushing towards Chalice and picking him up before carrying him a few meters away. "Th-This guy's tough…!"

Summer gritted her teeth when the kick didn't seem to have much effect on the Rhinoceros, the Undead's charge continued and stopped only when it collided with another had long since jumped off the charging Undead and landed beside both Chalice and Coral.

"Chalice, are you okay?" Coral asked in major concern upon seeing the rider coughing violently. "You should rest!"

"I'm fine…" Chalice stumbled back to his feet, Coral helping him a bit as he did. He was still feeling the pain from when the Rhinoceros charged him into that wall, it felt as if someone took a sledgehammer and swung at his neck. You can only imagine the pain he felt. "He's not going to stop anytime soon on his own, we'll have to make him stop…"

"How do we do that?" Summer asked with nervous doubt. "None of our attacks seem to do anything!"

"It's charge obviously relies heavily on the use of its legs, as long as we can somehow prevent it from using them, then we'll be fine for the most part." What Yu said was very much true, the Rhinoceros's main attack was simply charging, take that away, and it's just a mass of muscle. "I have an idea, but I'll need you both to try and distract it."

"We can do that! Let's go, Coral!"

Receiving a nod in response, both Summer and Coral quickly approached the Rhinoceros, although kept their distance for safety reasons. Chalice frowned a bit as he saw them, he didn't want to involve them, but he might have no choice for right now.

He was still very weak, he hadn't been given nearly enough time to get used to fighting overall, and with the lack of Rouse Cards under his possession, he was in serious need of some assistance. Perhaps after collecting a few more cards, he wouldn't need to involve these girls any more than they already have.

"Over here!" Summer shouted as the Rhinoceros gave a roar before stomping and charging towards her, to which she quickly jumped up to avoid being hit. "Phew… that was close. It's coming towards you now, Coral!"

"O-Okay!" Coral quickly held her fingers up in front of her, both fingers crossed over one another as a large red and purple cross of energy suddenly formed in front of her. When the Rhinoceros collided with it, the barrier struggled before cracks started to form on it. "I-I can't hold on for much longer…!"

"I'm coming!" Summer jumped up before delivering a kick down towards the back of the Rhinoceros Undead, which once again had a minor effect on the monster. If anything, the Undead became angrier than it already was. "Chalice, are you ready yet?!"

"Yes, keep it there!" Chalice quickly rushed up to the side where the Rhinoceros was exposed, Chalice then quickly took out one of his Rouse Cards. He glanced at it for a second before swiping it across the buckle that he had just attached to the Chalice Arrow. 'I hope this works…'

[SLASH]

Fortunately, powerful static energy enveloped the Chalice Arrow as Chalice rushed forwards before dropping into a slide. As he slid past the Rhinoceros's legs, he slashed using the Chalice Arrow as both green blood and sparks flew off from the Undead as it roared in pain before stumbling and falling over.

Chalice honestly wasn't sure if that was going to work, it was more of a gamble than anything. Not only wasn't he sure that the attack would be able to break through that thick hide, but he was also unsure if the card would even work. In the series, from what he recalled, only Blade was shown and known to have any effect using the Slash Lizard card.

"Time to finish this!" Chalice smoothly got back to his feet by breaking his slide before taking out two more cards as he ran towards the Undead that was now struggling to get back up. He then swiped the two cards into the Chalice Arrow. "Get back, both of you!"

While confused, both Summer and Coral nodded and jumped away.

[TORNADO]

[CHOP]

[SPINNING WAVE]

"Hyaaah~!"

Chalice gave a power cry as his body was surrounded by a powerful miniature tornado as he ran, he then positioned his hand ready for a powerful chop. Once he reached the Rhinoceros, he bent his knees before delivering an upwards horizontal chop to the Undead's jaw.

They all watched as the powerful attack sent the Undead up before being caught in the powerful tornado that surrounded Chalice, its powerful winds acting like blades as sparks continued to fly off the Rhinoceros before the Undead was sent crashing down onto the pavement violently.

"How is it still moving?!" Summer shouted in disbelief as both Precure stood next to Chalice. True to her words, the Rhinoceros was struggling on the ground in a small pool of its blood as the buckle on its waist snapped open. Both Summer and Coral flinched at the sight, obviously not used to seeing blood. "Eh? Why do you have that card?"

"To seal it." Chalice answered simply before tossing the card forwards, which soon landed on the Rhinoceros before sucking it in the same way that the Lizard had been. When the card flew back to Chalice, he caught it easily and looked at it. 'Alright, Category 4 of Clubs. Rush Rhinoceros, sealed.'

'Nice job, Yu! Those other two were quite impressive as well.'

"Speaking of which… thanks for the help, it's much appreciated. See you some other time."

"W-Wait, I want to ask you some questions!" Summer shouted as Chalice ignored her before quickly running. Seeing this, Summer and Coral tried to chase and reach after him, but failed to grab on when he used the newly acquired card he had just obtained.

[RUSH]

With newfound speed, Chalice was surrounded by a powerful energy as he quickly ran and jumped up one of the buildings. Both Summer and Coral could only watch as he jumped from one building to the other before disappearing out of sight.

"Aww… and he's gone." Summer frowned heavily as she slumped her shoulders, unconsciously switching back to her normal civilian form as Coral did the same. Manatsu then looked towards Sango who was still looking at where Chalice had run off to. "You met him before, right? Any idea what that was?"

Sango shook her head at this. "Unfortunately, no. He did save me from a monster like that yesterday though."

"He's quite suspicious if you ask me, and he's certainly no Pretty Cure." Laura spoke up from the strange device as both Manatsu and Sango looked at her, they saw her crossing her arms within the small screen. "And what's with that creepy monster, it was way more powerful compared to the Yaraneeda!"

As the Precure group were discussing the events that had just transpired, Chalice quickly jumped his way to a building rooftop a good few blocks away from the park. Once he was satisfied with the distance he had gone, he stopped on one of the roofs before taking out a card and swiping it.

[SPIRIT]

With that, the Chalice armour that he wore shattered away as Yu stumbled before dropping to the ground and looking up towards the sky. He rubbed his neck as he could still feel the phantom pains from that attack he received.

'Brilliant work, Yu. Despite your fears, you've performed incredibly the past two days.'

"I guess, though I only managed to seal that Rhinoceros Undead with the help of those two girls. Whether or not I could have done so without them is still up for debate." Yu sighed as he watched the clouds go by. "I hope they don't encounter Undead again like that, for their sake…"

'Perhaps you should ally with them? They proved themselves to be quite reliable.'

"I won't deny that." Yu responded as he closed his eyes. Those two girls did manage to hold themselves well during the ordeal, and he praised them highly for that. "However, I don't want to involve any outsiders of this Battle Royale. It's a war, a bloody one at that."

'I see… just give it some thought.'

Yu didn't respond and simply laid there with his eyes closed.
