Malachi's POV
All I had communicated to the horse was panic, despite my attempts to sound calm. In a final effort to see if gently petting the horse would calm it, I accidentally pulled her mane. The horse reared up, and I was thrown off. At that moment, we had been atop a bridge, and below were sharp rocks. If I didn't act now, my death would be quick. Yet, I didn't lack messily on the rocks.
Someone had caught me in their arms, lithe yet strong arms. "It really wouldn't kill you to listen to me. Yet you remain so troublesome, little one. You do know that's why I tease you." I instantly recognized the voice of Mitsuhide. Blinking once, then twice, the reality of the situation hit me. After my rough fall, I hadn't had a very gentle landing into Mitsuhide's arms.
I quickly became aware of the sharp pain erupting from my chest, and the warm liquid staining the inside of my kimono and skin. I pushed myself out of Mitsuhide's arms before he could notice, trying to assess the situation myself. But it was clear by his expression he had seen.
Glancing down at myself, I saw dark violet slowly creating a stain. Panic flashed in my eyes as I looked at Mitsuhide, "Malachi-" He began, but I didn't give him time to speak before I ran away back towards the castle.
I reached my room and quickly ran inside, roughly closing the door behind me. Wasting no time, I undid my kimono to look at just how bad it was. Looking down at my scar littered chest, I saw that one of the newer ones had been the cause of the blood. The scar tissue had torn slightly from all the intense movement I'd been doing, and dark violet blood was slowly oozing out.
A sigh left my lips as I gently placed my hand over the open wound, focusing all my energy there. A gentle glow emitted from my hand as the scar tissue slowly knit back together. After ensuring that the wound was closed again, I changed out of my blood-stained kimono. Then.. The realization hit me.
Mitsuhide had seen it. He had seen the blood stain my kimono. And he probably knows damn well that humans don't bleed in dark violet. So, essentially, I'm screwed. I can stay silent all I want about this but.. How long till he figures out what I am? How long till he tells Nobunaga what he saw?
How long until things go to hell?
