Scourge has a run in with someone from his past in his final moments. Both parties thinking they'd never see each other again make the most of their few moments they have left to share with one another.

Everything hurt.

To think some meager forest cat would be the death of him.

He had killed him, he was sure of it! Scourge thought to himself.

But as blood poured from his wounds he knew what he was "sure" of and what was reality were two completely different things.

The battle had long since concluded. Blood clan as well as their leader had been defeated and the moon hung high in the sky over the battlefield as Scourge hobbled through the carnage barely able to maintain consciousness as his heart pumped slowly, doing its task with uncertainty. There wasn't another living feline around, the clearing where the fighting had taken place was a variable ghost land as all sides went to their respective territories to lick their wounds.

Scourge himself had no idea where he was headed, his legs seemingly having a mind of their own as they took him through the woods. If he passed another cat on his way he certainly didn't notice and the lack of any attack on the bloodclan leader must've meant they didn't either or just simply didn't care.

"Heh" Scourge chuckled at the thought.

Didn't care. To think there'd ever be a time where his mere presence wouldn't command the respect or fear of those around him. It reminded him of when he was a kit.

When he was a kit.

Those times felt so distant. A few more moons and Scourge bet he would've questioned if they had even happened.

*thud*

Scourge hit the ground as he tripped over something. The impact sent a small surge of pain through his worn out body, pulling a soft groan from the feline.

Looking back he saw he had tripped over a small metal object, it looked like a bell but with how rusted over it was he couldn't really tell only small sparkles of untarnished metal showing through the layers of oxidation. Picking himself back up, stumbling once or twice in the process, Scourge got back on his feet and gave the object a light swat.

*ring*

It was faint but he could definitely hear it, a soft ring. He was surpsrised despite the wear from being out in the elements for who knows how long it still worked, a bell tried and true.

He didn't know why, but that fact put a small smile on the black feline's face as he began wandering aimlessly again.

Where was he even going? He asked himself. Was the forest floor not a good enough place to die? Apparently not as his legs kept moving, placing one paw in front of the other he carried on.

He passed a small stream, a creek really, crossing it Scourge let out a sigh as the cool water eased some of the pain of his wounds. The water briefly turned awash of red from his blood before he exited. A small swarm of fireflies buzzing in the air. Watching them buzz and flicker so vibrantly.

"They probably have more time left than I do" Scourge whispered to himself.

The fact bore little weight on his mind.

Pulling his attention away from the insects Scourge took in his surroundings. A near unending row of wooden fences with towering dwellings behind them, some with lights on others quiet and still like the night.

"T-twoleg dens?"
