PART II

Returning Memories and the Secret of the Grimoires

The Demon Prince continued speaking to Kagura after he recovered from his initial shock of learning that Kagura could read and understand Latin. "Let's recover your memory of the spell book first. The information that could unlock that memory is near the middle of this book."

Kagura nodded. Returning to the book in her hand, Kagura flipped to the middle of the book and went still. There, she saw pictures of three Ancient Tomes. Underneath each tome was the Latin name for each. Kagura looked at the names and read them out loud, "Grimorium Infernum, Grimorium Caelum, Grimorium Elementum; The Grimoire of Hell, The Grimoire of Heaven, and The Elemental Grimoire." As Kagura read the last name and the information about it, she almost dropped the book. This Grimoire had been lost for centuries and she was the one who found it. The memory of that spell book returned, but this time, all her memories about it came back to her.

She was in the old and dusty Library looking for books to read before she came upon a book on Holy Magic. She pulled out the book then sat in one of the purple chairs before she started to read. The information she read was about the different types of Holy Magic and how it could be used to cast offensive spells by working in tandem with Elemental Magic. As she read further into the book, she also learned about Purification Magic. After reading about each Type of Magic mentioned in the book, she decided to learn spells from each, including Light and Purification Magic as well as Elemental Magic to help better protect herself and the people she cares about. Looking through the book, she came across strong offensive spells of Light Magic and strong spells used in Purification Magic. She decided to learn specific spells from each Type. After learning the spells , she returned the book to the shelves. She then started looking for spell books on Elemental Magic and came across a mysterious spell book. Reaching toward the book, she took it out. Looking at the strange, brown, leather bound book rimmed with silver and gold, she saw a Seal. The Seal was silver with a strange design on it. As she touched the Seal, the book opened. Suddenly, an infinite amount of Ancient magical knowledge swirled in her mind including spells lost for centuries. Spells she could hardly begin to comprehend. As all the knowledge and power from the book filled her, the book closed itself with the Seal back in place before disappearing from her hands.

Closing the book, Kagura looked at everyone before her and said, "I finally remember all of that memory. The spell book I found in the Library was the Grimorium Elementum, The Elemental Grimoire, which according to your book is the spell book that had been lost for centuries. The power I gained was from the books on magic I read in the Library. I also gained powers from the Lost Grimoire after I released the Seal. As the book opened, an infinite number of Ancient magical knowledge and lost spells filled my mind. However, I still do not know why the Lost Grimoire chose me as its wielder."

There was absolute silence as Kagura revealed her lost memory. An expression of disbelief crossed everyone's faces when they heard about the Lost Grimoire and how she had released the Seal. A few minutes later, the Demon Prince broke the silence and said quietly, "How is that possible? That Grimoire had been lost for centuries. Solomon and my people have searched for it for centuries but we never found any trace of it. Now it is back. It showed itself to you and you released the Seal. However, that Seal cannot be released by anyone except the original owner and Solomon. Solomon could release it because he was the one who sealed the Grimoire in the first place. The Seal is known as the Seal of Solomon."

Kagura stared at the Demon Prince in shock before saying, "I know about the Seal of Solomon. I read about it before when I was living in the human world. The Seal's design is of a Hexagram. Another name for it is the Star of David."

Solomon, recovering from his own shock at Kagura's revelation said, "Yes, the Seal on the Grimoire is mine. Before the original creator died, I sealed the Tome because of the danger the Ancient Spells could pose for the Human Realm. However, after the original owner died, the Tome disappeared and was never found. That Tome, The Grimoire of Hell, and The Grimoire of Heaven are the three Ancient Tomes that provides balance to all Three Realms: Human, Celestial, and Demon. However, after The Elemental Grimoire disappeared after The Great War, the Three Realms became unstable leading to unparalleled Destruction. The initiator of the Destruction was the Evil Entity we fought during that War."

Kagura was stunned when she heard Solomon's story. Seconds later, another memory surfaced. She was in a bedroom that looked to be hers. On the bedroom dresser, the Grimoire that disappeared from the Library reappeared. As she grabbed it from the dresser to muffle its glow, she saw a vision of an Ancient Battle involving Humans, Angels, and Demons. They were fighting a Dark Mass of Evil creating unparalleled Destruction

"Solomon, The Great War you mentioned, did it involve Humans, Angels, and Demons fighting a Dark Mass of Evil?"

Solomon and the others stared at Kagura. "You figured it out?" This question came from Satan.

"I didn't have to figure it out. Another memory surfaced when Solomon mentioned the War. I think I was in what looked like my bedroom when I saw The Elemental Grimoire reappear on top of the bedroom dresser. When I grabbed it to stop it from glowing, a vision came to me. I saw an Ancient Battle involving Humans, Angels, and Demons. They were fighting a Dark Mass of Evil. During the Battle, there was unparalleled Destruction."

Solomon looked at Kagura and said quietly, "The Great War was that Ancient Battle in your vision. All Three Realms were involved in it and they were fighting an Evil Entity. In demon terms, they called that Evil Entity, the Ancient Evil."

Kagura stared at Solomon in disbelief and said, "You have gotta be kidding me. Something like that doesn't happen in reality. I can accept the existence of demons and angels. I can even accept that I used to go to school with them and had learned magic, but this is something I cannot accept. An Ancient Evil that wants to destroy the world, a Battle to save the world. That only happens in fiction, in RPGs, and in MMORPGs."

Levi interrupted with a look of excitement and hope. "You know what these games are so does that mean you also like playing them?"

Kagura looked at the blue-haired demon then said curiously, "This is the second time you mentioned games. The first time was when we were still in the human world. Who are you and what is up with you and games? Why are you asking me whether I like playing games?"

Levi looked at Kagura and said, "My name is Leviathan. I'm the third eldest of all my brothers. I represent Envy. To answer your other questions, I love games, anything anime, and anything manga. In human terms, I'm an otaku. The reason I'm asking whether or not you like playing games is because when you still had your memories, you and I would often play games together. We also shared a common interest in anime and manga."

Kagura looked at the demon Leviathan. So he is the representation of another of the Seven Deadly Sins, Envy, while Satan represents Wrath. If that's the case, then the other brothers represents Pride, Greed, Lust, Gluttony, and Sloth. She'll figure out which demon brother represents which later. Returning from her thoughts, Kagura said, "Really? Hmm…maybe there might be something to trigger that memory. I'll think about it. I can't promise you anything but I'll give it a try when we get a chance to talk. For now, let's focus on the current problem."

Leviathan nodded. Hope returning to him, I'm glad she said that. She is indeed my one true friend.

Looking at Solomon again, she said, "As I was saying, what you told me is hard to believe. Is there any evidence that this Ancient Battle ever existed? I may have seen a vision of it but that was only a vision. Without proof, one cannot say the Battle truly existed. My parents are practical people. They believe only in what they see. I am also like that. I need evidence that proves the Battle truly existed."

Solomon looked at Kagura and said, "Very well. I'll show you the evidence. The records of that Battle is in the Devildom Archives."

Turning to Lord Diavolo, "Lord Diavolo, is it okay to give Kagura access to the Archives? You are the only person who can give access."

Lord Diavolo nodded and said, "If Kagura needs the evidence then I will give her access. She also needs to know about the Battle because she came in contact with The Elemental Grimoire."

Lord Diavolo made a gesture with his hand and a skull-shaped key appeared in mid-air. Taking the key from mid-air, he gave it to Solomon.

"This key will unlock the chain around the door to the Archives but that is only the first obstacle. The second obstacle is the creature that guards the Archives. The Archives is only used by demons so the creature will not attack. However, humans have never set foot inside the Archives before. I'm sure your powers can get you and Kagura past the creature. Make sure you protect her and yourself well. The Sorcerers Guild will have my head if anything happens to you. The Brothers will skin me alive if anything happens to Kagura." As Lord Diavolo said that, he glanced at the Brothers and winced. All of them were giving him looks that would kill.

Turning to Kagura, Lord Diavolo said, "Solomon will take you to the Devildom Archives. I need to talk with the Brothers and the Angels so we cannot accompany you. He will protect you in our stead. The other reason I'm allowing you access is because you came in contact with the missing Grimoire. You need to know everything about that Grimoire and about the Battle."

Kagura nodded and said, "Thank you, sir."

Lord Diavolo returned the nod and said, "My name is Diavolo. You can call me that, and good luck," before turning to the Brothers and the Angels, "Let's talk in the Conference Hall. We have much to discuss."

Diavolo left with the Brothers and the Angels leaving Kagura with Solomon.

"Shall we get going?" Solomon asked.

Kagura nodded. Together, they made their way to the Devildom Archives.
