PART III

The Devildom Archives, Secrets Revealed

"So where are the Devildom Archives?" Kagura asked.

"The Archives is in RAD's Library. It's located in the basement level. From Lord Diavolo's Castle, it's a twenty minute walk." Solomon replied.

Kagura nodded and in companionable silence, they walked to RAD and arrived at the Library which was a separate building on campus. As they entered the Library, Solomon took Kagura to the basement level. As she entered the basement, she felt very uneasy. It was dimly lit and damp with spider webs in every nook and cranny. Dust also covered the whole area. A few minutes later, both came upon a set of double doors chained with a skull-shaped lock. Above the double doors hung a black and gold plaque that read "Devildom Archives: Restricted Access". Taking out the key, Solomon unchained the skull-shaped lock and they walked in. As they entered, a long hallway appeared before them. The walls were made of rough stone bricks and dim torches lined the area just below the ceiling.

As Kagura and Solomon walked down the dimly lit hallway, they came upon another set of double doors. Next to the double doors was a stone statue of a Chimera. Both did not know that the stone Chimera was the creature that guards the Archives. As Solomon reached over and touched the chimera-shaped doorknobs, a strange growling suddenly appeared next to them. Solomon grabbed Kagura and immediately rolled away from the creature as it attacked, avoiding a deadly blow from the Chimera's claws.

After they rolled a safe distance, Solomon offered a hand to help Kagura up and she took it. "Thanks for saving me back there." As Kagura took Solomon's hand, a sudden flash of memory suddenly came to her. Closing her eyes, the memory came. She was in a beautifully decorated dance hall. Dancing with her was a man encased in shadow. She felt Old and Ancient Magic radiating from him as they danced. After the dance, the man took her hand and kissed it. As he kissed her hand, magic swirled around it and she felt a strange power flow into her. When he removed his hands from hers, a six-pointed star with a circle surrounding it appeared on the back of her hand. The Seal of Solomon…With a gasp, Kagura's eyes flew open as she stared at Solomon.

Solomon saw the expression on her face and went still, not daring to believe. Dear God, did she finally remember him? Solomon dearly hoped so. He and Kagura had shared a close bond before she lost her memories. When he first met her, he didn't think she would survive her time in the Devildom because she lacked magical abilities to protect herself. This resulted in him having a bad opinion of her. However, as they spent more time together, his opinions of her slowly changed and he eventually fell for her. He had never revealed his feelings to her because he had felt that there was no chance for him, so he made the decision to love and protect her from a distance. It was enough to just be beside her.

"Kagura," he said, hope in his voice, "have you finally remembered me?"

"Yes, I remembered. You are Solomon the Sorcerer, the one who unlocked my hidden magical abilities during a dance party. I don't remember the rest of that memory, but I did remember that you were the one who had put a magical Seal on my hand, the Seal of Solomon. Your magical Seal was the Seal that unlocked my powers. That memory also showed me the connection I have with you. It also showed me that we once shared a close bond. I'm sorry for not remembering you sooner."

After saying that, Kagura reached over and hugged Solomon surprising him. He recovered quickly and hugged Kagura back, feeling her warmth as he held her in his arms. They stood like that for a while before Solomon regretfully pulled Kagura away.

"As much as I love to continue with this, we still have to get past the Chimera to access the Archives."

Kagura nodded, "I know, but how are we going to get past it? Do you have a plan?"

"Yes, I do. Chimeras do not see well in the dark but their hearing is exceptional. In order to get past it, I need to put it to sleep, but that is not easy to do because Chimeras can counter sleep spells. They have counter spells to counter any magical attacks. The only way for the sleep spell to succeed is to bind the Chimera in a creature binding circle without it noticing."

Kagura listened to Solomon's plan before a suspicion soon took hold of her. "Just a minute Solomon, you aren't planning to fight that thing on your own are you? That's too dangerous. Let me help."

"No, Kagura. It's too dangerous for you. I am trained to handle such things. In addition, I promised Lord Diavolo to keep you safe and I intend to do just that. I want you to stay here. It's safe here. If anything happened to you I don't know what I'll do. So please, Kagura. Stay here for my sake."

Kagura looked at Solomon's expression and stilled. She couldn't believe it, Solomon loved her too? Now what was she going to do? Her heart belonged to Satan, but she also cared deeply for Solomon. If anything happened to Solomon, she would be very sad. The only thing she could do was pray for his safety.

"Very well, but please stay safe." Kagura said. Then she kissed Solomon. Solomon's eyes widened in shock as Kagura kissed him. Pushing his shock away, he pulled Kagura into his arms and kissed her back. Now it was Kagura's turn to be shocked, but she didn't pull away. When the kiss ended, Solomon said softly, "I promise to stay safe Kagura and will return for you after I take care of the Chimera."

Kagura nodded and watched as Solomon activated an invisible Shield to hide his presence then made his way back to the Chimera.

After Solomon left, a single thought ran through Kagura's mind, please stay safe Solomon and return to me soon.
