Bloodied, bruised, with cuts all over his body and tattered clothes, Young Link would limp away from a battle that took all the effort within him to triumph over. The child that obtained great power to battle and defeated the likes of Majora's Mask sealed the fate of Hyrule for the greater good. But Young Link, knowing the sacrifices he had to make to achieve his victory, was never willing to celebrate his victory.

The Hero of Time would see a campfire that blazes in the forest as he limps to it and sits on one of the logs to relax his exhausted body. With blood running down from his wounds and clothes, Young Link would utter a quiet moan of pain as he saw the amount of blood he was losing. While the cuts on his whole body weren't too deep, the blood he lost was still fatal.

Young Link would have a photo of him and Zelda before his battle with Majora's Mask.

Don't turn away... I prayed you heard the words I've spoken...

Dare to believe... Oh, for one last time...

Young Link's vacant emotions couldn't allow him to feel the sorrow most people would feel in his time of peril, and he felt that being a Hero was the only thing Life had in store. He survived many battles, and despite winning, the odds were always against him. Maybe if he was older and had wielded the Master Sword, the battles he won wouldn't have the battles that ended on a violent note.

Then I'll let the darkness cover me... Deny... Everything...

Slowly... Walk away... To breathe again... On my own!

Young Link would put the photo away and get up from the campfire. He continues limping away from the forest as he is determined to stay alive, even when Death himself tries taking his soul after being in too many battles. Even though the child doesn't wield the Triforce of Courage, Young Link doesn't need its abilities to make himself strong-willed. Even if he had that piece of the Triforce, his battles wouldn't have changed.

Carry me away... I need your strength to get me through this...

Dare to believe... Oh, for one last time...

On a grassy field not too far from the Hyrule Castle, Young Link would continue limping to find a nearby village where he could heal up. The blood loss he was feeling worsened as he tried his hardest to resist the effects of Death closing in on him. His arms and legs shook from being weakened, and his heart was pounding out of his chest; Young Link cannot describe the shock the child was feeling. But deep down, he knew it must be the shock of what all his enemies had felt during their deaths.

Then, suddenly, he felt his entire body finally give out as he collapsed to his knees. He catches himself with his arms as he coughed up blood from internal bleeding.

Then I'll let the darkness cover me... Deny... Everything...

Slowly... Walk away... To breathe again... On my own!

However, Young Link, knowing he came so far from being an ordinary Hylian Child raised as a Kokiri, was not letting himself die out. He chanted to himself that he would not die and live through the madness his journey had wrought upon him. Young Link slowly got to his feet, making his body keep up with his mind. As he gets up, he has flashbacks of his times with his Kokiri friends and the Great Deku Tree, and Young Link feels as if a fire burned within his eyes as he rises from the dirt.

On my own! (4x)

Young Link would then feel his head look up in the night sky, with stars peacefully shining as his eyes stare blankly at the sky before him. The Hero of Time would lower his head and let himself sleep for a moment. Frantic footsteps were heard from a distance and stopped right before him. Although unwilling to open his eyes, he opened them, and they widened at the sight of some familiar faces in front of him.

Zelda and Impa would stand in horror at seeing him mortally wounded. Zelda's eyes were as wide as saucers, and she had her mouth covered, while Impa's expression showed shock at the Hero of Time, but she was trying to stay calm despite the gruesome situation. Young Link would grab his Gilded Sword and try to take his fighting stance weakly at Impa.

Dare to believe... Oh, for one last time...

"Link... It's okay. I'm not going to harm you..." Impa spoke to the injured child calmly.

Then I'll let the darkness cover me... Deny... Everything...

Impa would gently clasp her hands on both sides of the blade, helping Young Link see her intention of helping him. Impa took away Young Link's Gilded Sword while Zelda hugged the Hero of Time gently. Young Link hugged Zelda back with what little strength he had left. Zelda would then use her magic to put Young Link to sleep so he wouldn't have to feel any more pain from his injuries. Young Link sighed in relief as he felt his body and consciousness slip away while holding Zelda.

Slowly... Walk away... To breathe again... On my own!

Young Link wakes up to find himself cleanly bandaged and feels no more pain from his injuries. He became soothed by the slumber that Zelda sent him in. With morning sunlight shining in the hospital room window, Young Link sees Zelda and Impa walk into the hospital room with relief in their eyes as they walk over to him. Impa would take charge of guarding Young Link and Zelda by standing in front of the hospital bed.

"It's going to be okay, Link... You know that, right?" Zelda spoke to him with a soothing tone and a comforting smile.

On my own!

Young Link smiled for the first time after a horde of battles and a long, brutal journey. He chuckled softly as he took Zelda's hand.

"I know I'll be okay, Zelda..." Young Link replied, having spoken for the first time in his life.

For the first time in centuries, a Hero of Hyrule has survived their journey...
