Way down at Acme Labs, two lab mice named Pinky and the Brain were planning their next hair-brained scheme to, you guessed it, take over the world. It's something that Brain's been pining over for years, and he was not going to stop until he fully succeeded, despite his friend's skepticism and objections about it.

"Okay, Pinky, tonight may finally be our chance to achieve world domination!" Brain said excitedly, rubbing his hands together.

"Right on, Brain! Zort!" Pinky said in usual cheeriness.

Brain opened up a blueprint that outlined their next invention.

"If we use this device, it might be effective to our advantage. We'll be world pioneers in no time."

"That's great, Brain." Pinky said.

"We might as well get started on designing it now." Brain said.

"Wait, Brain, before we do, I need to say something to you." Pinky said.

"What is it, Pinky?" Brain asked, curious.

"I just want you to know how much I appreciate having you as a friend. I mean, yeah, you can be grouchy more often than not, and you repeatedly hit me over the head whenever I mess up, but I don't mind it because, in my humble opinion, it's what makes you you!" Pinky said, very sincerely.

Brain blinked. He was quite touched by Pinky's statement, and a little shocked at the same time because he was usually never this mushy before.

"Why, thank you, Pinky. What you just said means a lot to me." Brain responded.

"You're welcome, Brain. Poit!" Pinky said.

"And while we're at it, I appreciate having you as a friend, too. You're always there for me, even when I mess up the most simplest of tasks like trying to take over the world." Brain said, giving a slight chuckle.

"Aw, thanks, Brain!" Pinky said, touched.

"You are most certainly welcome. Now, can we continue with what we were doing?" Brain asked.

"Of course." Pinky said.

"Excellent, Pinky. Now, here's what we're going to be doing." Brain said.

Pinky humbly listened to his friend explain the plan to take over the world. All the while, he admired him for all of his hard work he put out over the years.

A/N: I was inspired by Mr. Yaksman's story, Realizations, to write this one-shot. Enjoy!
