I don't own Doctor Who.
Walk in the Dust of Boredom.
Donna Noble might have told the Doctor she planned on travelling the world, seeing its sights and wonders, but she found it virtually impossible. After her sham of a wedding (Donna remembered Lance with angry sorrow now, but now she had gotten mainly over his betrayal when he revealed he had been working with the Spider queen; she'd forgotten the creatures' actual name), Donna had been full of ambitions for travelling to get away from Britain.
She had been on holiday before, so why couldn't she travel?
But then she had realised it was as much of a sham. She would merely be hiding her grief of Lance's betrayal and her inability to fulfil one of her greatest dreams; Donna loved her mother, she did, she just wished Sylvia would stop criticising her and give her a break, maybe even encourage her instead of pushing her down each time she tried to do something well; when she had been a kid, Donna had done her best to win her approval, but her mother refused each time.
It made her hopes that one day she would have kids and a husband of her own almost impossible, because Donna had walls and wanted to prove her mother wrong about her, and she had always wanted to have kids to love and care for. She tried to play with them as babies, hug them to her chest, she tried to play games with them, watch them perform for their schools, and be there for good.
So in the end she just forgot her wedding plans and went along with her normal life. She was left walking in the dust of boredom.
