CHAPTER ONE

The Bald Guy From The Sky

It was another beautiful day in Musutafu, Japan, as a cool breeze swept over the many skyscrapers in the city. Usually, there was the occasional robbery or heist, but today was surprisingly quiet. The U.A. Class 1-A heroes Deku and Uravity were scouting out the city for trouble as part of a school assignment, but had yet to find anything. They were currently sitting atop one of the tallest skyscrapers snacking on some bento boxes they had packed ahead of time.

"Slow day today, huh," said Deku.

"Yeah," replied Uravity, "I'm honestly kinda surprised. Such a big city, and no crime. But the weather is so nice today. Maybe all the criminals are enjoying a day off?"

"Heh, I wish. At least we have a chance to eat though. I was starting to feel a little peckish."

"Same."

The two classmates silently sat as they ate their own food, both of them mildly blushing at how close they sat next to each other, but not wanting to move, fearing that it'd be seen as a rude gesture.

"Um... Uraraka?"

"Yes?"

"We're friends, right?"

"Of course, Deku!"

"And... friends can tell each other everything, right?"

"Yeah, I don't see why not. Is there something you wanted to tell me?" Uravity couldn't help but blush, hoping that this conversation was going where she thought it was going.

Deku blushed in return, having trouble with saying what he wanted to say next.

He had harbored feelings for her for a while now, but he had only taken notice more recently to how he truly felt about her. For one, he admired the way she went headfirst into danger to save others, as a true hero would. Working alongside her, he had come to realize not only did he want to learn from her, but he also wanted to be by her side more. He just didn't know if she felt the same way he felt about her, which was a major roadblock in wanting to ask her out. That and how inexperienced he was with girls.

"Well... ok... um... Uraraka..."

"Yes, Deku?"

Her cute inquisitiveness made him blush even harder, his face now a beet red.

"Well... We've been spending a lot of time together... and... um... you're such an incredible friend... I was... um..."

He was sweating profusely at this point, but Uravity leaned in with anticipation, holding on to his every word.

"I was wondering... if... um... maybe after class... Uraraka?... Would you like to?..."

Uravity awaited for the end of his question, but noticed how his attention was diverted past her now, his eyes wide with shock.

"What the?..."

Uravity whipped around and saw a huge plume of smoke forming near the business district. In the sky above the disaster area was a strange multicolored portal. The duo's hero instincts kicked in, as Uravity put on her visor and Deku slid on his Air Force Gloves and packed away their bento boxes quickly.

"Let's go," said Deku.

"Right!" replied Uravity.

Uravity quickly hopped on Deku's back and held tight as Deku used 20% of One For All to leap across the city rooftops. Within a matter of moments, the had reached the area that the smoke was rising up from. Deku landed on the ground, and Uravity slid off of him with ease.

"Uravity. See if there are any injured or trapped civilians. I'm going to use Air Force to clear out the smoke. I've already sent an alert out to all nearby heroes, so they should be here any moment."

"Got it!"

Uravity ran in to the rubble and ruins of a section of a skyscraper, using her quirk, Zero G, to lift up the ruins and see if there were any civilians in danger. Deku started to leap from side to side against buildings, using a downgraded form of Air Force to clear the smoke and minor flames. In a matter of moments, the smoke was fully cleared and the flames had dispersed, revealing the inside of the skyscraper torn open, as if something has fallen against it.

He landed and Uravity ran up to him. She said, "Luckily, it doesn't look like anyone was nearby when the blast occurred. What happened here?"

"I don't know, but the police should be here soon to investigate the issue. I'm more concerned about what that is." Deku pointed up towards the ominous portal that hovered overhead. Already, a news helicopter was filming the disaster site and the portal up above.

Suddenly, the sound of rubble moving nearby drove the hero's into their fighting stances. From beneath a pile of rubble and stone emerged a strangely dressed bald man. He wore what looked like a simple super suit. His suit was a vibrant yellow, and he wore with it a white cape and red gloves and boots. On the front of his suit was emblazoned a large zipper.

The light reflected boldly off of his bald, pale head, and his face cared a blank expression. The two heroes stared at him with confusion. He didn't look like a villain, and he certainly didn't look like a hero either. If anything, he looked like a poorly dressed cosplayer.

The bald man finally gazed at them, his face still held that blank stare. "That's the last time I try Mexican food," he said.
