Hey everyone! I am back to posting my old work...I have been intending to post a compilation for Lukanette June 2021 for ages. Because for Lukanette June 2021 a lot of my fanfics for that month involved an on-going theme of Marinette and Luka in their early twenties living in a cute Paris apartment.
And this first chapter entitled "Dawn" is literally the fanfic that started it all for me.
I mean back in 2020 was my original trilogy of "Beautiful Melody and Romantic Harmony" "A Hero for a Hero" and "Pink and Punk" this was back when Miraculous was on hiatus and I wanted more Lukanette.
But Lukanette June 2021 was when I really started to write Lukanette fanfiction regularly and it certainly changed my life..
But I will talk more about this in the next author's note so, enjoy!
Disclaimer: Miraculous Ladybug belongs to Thomas Astruc and ZAGToon. This is just a fanfic written by a fan.
Summer was coming in a matter of days, and the weather was already getting warmer. Luka and Marinette shield their apartment bedroom with dark curtains and felt peace as they slept beside each other as they slightly dreaded another summer in France.
Luka was the first to wake as he smiled down on Marinette, who slept with a cute smile on her face. The bedroom was peaceful as usual. There was familiar clutter with Marinette's art pieces. Paints, handmade jewelry, and adorable knitted items. Luka's guitars sat safely in the room along with his albums and vinyl. There were also a few band posters that Marinette and Luka adored, along with a cute calendar that Marinette made herself.
Everything felt like home, but Luka couldn't help but notice the ray of golden sunlight that peaked through the curtain.
Marinette mumbled awake as she opened her eyes slowly. Luka smiled and took her hand for a moment.
"Good morning, my love," Luka said.
Then he turned to the curtain. "Wait a moment," he said as he got off the bed.
Marinette giggled as she sat up on the bed and smiled at her boyfriend as he opened the curtain and got a glimpse at the sky through the window. The yellow light of dawn was beautiful to look at and gave Marinette some much-needed morning energy.
Luka opened the door to the balcony and caught his breath as the yellow sunlight rose to fade away the sapphire blue dusk.
Marinette followed behind him and was in awe of the dawn that shined while Paris still slept. She took a moment to hold Luka's arm and rest her head against him. Luka looked down at his girlfriend and smiled as his beautiful muse glowed in the morning rays as well. And Marinette couldn't help but feel captivated by her handsome boyfriend glowing with the sun rays behind him.
Without a word, they kissed, taking a moment to take in each other's morning breath and morning scent before turning back to the dawn.
But the dawn would not last forever, and Marinette had an idea on the spur of the moment.
Marinette released her boyfriend's arm and ran back inside. "I need my paint material!"
Luka smiled and walked in with her as she retrieved her paint material and easel.
"I'll make breakfast," Luka said.
Marinette stopped in the middle of her gathering, feeling guilty. Her boyfriend was a giver, but Marinette thought she shouldn't take too much.
"Wait, I should help you too," Marinette said.
Luka placed his hand under his girlfriend's chin and lifted her face to him, smiling at her. "It's ok. You are in the zone right now."
He kissed her on the cheek and headed out the door.
"I'll make it up to you," Marinette said.
Luka turned and leaned by the doorway giving her one last loving smile before heading to the kitchen.
Marinette automatically felt obligated to wash the dishes, but Luka always washed dishes with her. She thought a bit more and thought she could make Luka a nice dinner in the evening with the dark chocolate lava cakes he loved so much.
She headed back to the balcony with her plan in action and her easel and paints to capture the beautiful morning lights she saw with Luka on paper.
Summer may be a drag at times, but there were also moments like these where Luka and Marinette woke up together and enjoyed these sights side by side.
It was the start of a beautiful day.
Ohhh goosebumps!
Anyway, now that you're here I got another announcement to make...It's a good announcement!
So when I came back to the Lukanette fandom I certainly felt stronger...
Like someone else traumatized me and I overcame that trauma, I am not sure how or why but I certainly came back with a vengeance, and writing Lukanette became my passion again.
And honestly, the person who traumatized me should be most afraid of the person who comes back stronger after being knocked down.
But I told my friends that I honestly wanted to outdue them, to be a better writer than they ever were.
I was joking at first but I was talking to a career counselor and they suggested I may have a future in a career in writing and I should take a creative writing class.
Basically, if everything goes well I hope to go back to school in the fall...This means fanfiction writing may or may not be on the back burner. I mean I hope to get a job at the college to make things less stressful but I am not sure if I am hired yet.
Honestly, though I was sort of joking when I said I wanted to outdue the person who traumatized me...I have a blue flame burning inside me...A flame of determination...A flame of...I dare you to hurt me again.
But also...Being in a fandom can be incredibly isolating and I have felt insecure a lot...If going back to college to get writing classes is in my future then I can raise the bar a little higher and make much better Lukanette fanfiction for my readers...And actually feel like I am good enough to be here.
And maybe outdoing the person who traumatized me could happen. Well ok, my roommate said my first priority should be love, not vengeance.
Well ok, I will probably get a career in journalism and be just like Lois Lane (Hell yeah!), I will write more Lukanette fanfiction for my friends and readers to adore...
...And then the Universe will decide who comes on top in the end.
One thing for certain is I am back for a reason and I am determined to get better.
Anyway, thank you for reading and stay tuned for more!
