Kamen Rider Celestial: Incoming Transmission

"Space…A vacuum empty of air yet full of possibilities…" a young man said as he looked through his telescope's eyepiece into the night sky before pulling away. "Ooo, that's good! Where'd I put that notebook? I should write that down!"

He began to rummage through his navy backpack, trying to find the notebook. However, he has eventually pulled out everything in his bag and only found some books about space and some pocky cookie sticks. He opened the box before stuffing one of the chocolate-dipped sticks in his mouth. His brown eyes lit up as he chewed.

"Man, for 2-week-old pocky, this is still pretty good!" he said. He then frowned. "But still no notebook. Maybe Kumiko has one."

"Hinata!" a female voice shouted as a young woman ran up the grassy hill towards the young man. While the two had similar Asian features, the young woman had long brown hair compared to the young man's short black hair.

"Kumiko!" Hinata said as he walked up to meet the young woman. "Glad you're here. Do you have a notebook I could borrow? I just had a great start to an article I was thinking of writing for the astronomy magazine."

Kumiko's light blue blouse ruffled a bit as she pulled her black backpack off her back and plopped it on the ground. She stuck a hand inside and pulled out a notebook and pen right away.

"Here you go!" Kumiko said as she offered the notebook and writing utensil out to Hinata with a smile on her face.

"Arigatou (Thank you)," Hinata said as he took the notebook and sat down on the ground. "Now if I could just remember what it was…" He sat there for a minute before a look of defeat crossed his face. "Dangit, I can't remember!"

"I'm sure it'll come to you again," Kumiko said as she sat down next to Hinata. "Hey, is that the telescope…"

"...I bought at Saku's shop the day THAT happened?" Hinata said. "Yup. The one and the same."

He stood up again, the notebook falling off his tan shorts, before walking over to the telescope. He patted the device like it was an old friend.

"It may not be as fancy as one of the ones your dad has in his lab but it serves me well," Hinata said before looking into the eyepiece again. He moved the body of the telescope a bit to the right before pulling back and looking over at Kumiko. "You want to see something cool?"

"You bet!" Kumiko said as she sprung up and walked over to Hinata and the telescope. She leaned down to look through the eyepiece to see…

"It's a dying star," Hinata said as he pointed up at the night sky. "Millions of miles away, a big ball of gas is collapsing until it becomes a supernova."

"I know," Kumiko said as she pulled back from the eyepiece. "Otou-san (Dad) taught me all of that by the time I was nine-years-old."

"Yeah, I knew that," Hinata said as he rubbed the back of his head. "I just get really excited, you know? Something that amazing is happening so far away and we get to witness it."

"It is pretty amazing," Kumiko said with a laugh. "But I wanted to thank you for inviting me. I know we see each other all the time while you do your…THING, but it's still nice to hang out outside of that. Especially with what's going on with Otou-san (Dad) right now."

"Yeah…" Hinata said. "I just wish I could do more. That's why I'm hoping we can do something about it tomorrow. Akio didn't say anything about it? He is with the government after all."

"Nothing," Kumiko said with a sigh. "But I know he would say something if he knew what was going on."

"I'm sure he would," Hinata said as he turned around, hiding the doubtful look in his eye from Kumiko. He then started towards his telescope. "But that's enough about them. The point of us hanging out tonight is to get our minds off your dad's situation. Let's see what else I can…ah!" He let out a shout as an orange energy ball flew into the telescope, causing it to shatter and pieces to fly everywhere. Both he and Kumiko put up their arms to protect their heads as the shards flew past. Hinata lowered his arms and turned his head to see gray humanoid creatures with orange energy flowing through cracks in their bodies. They also had small holes on their heads where their eyes would be, full of the orange energy

"Man, you guys don't even give me one night off?" Hinata asked as he threw up his arms in exasperation.

"Nope!" a hissing voice said as the gray and orange humanoids stepped aside to let a blue snake-like creature walk between them. While he had arms and legs, he also had his torso extending forward and curving up and then down to allow his body to look more snake-like. He had a large open mouth with two large fangs each on the top and the bottom of said mouth.

"And what are you? Serpens Conskullation?" Hinata asked.

"Do not mistake me for another," the snake-like creature hissed. "I am Hydrus Conskullation, your future destroyer!"

"Ah, the male water snake," Hinata said. "Should have guessed from the blue-coloring there was something more to you. You know, I could have guessed the Hydra Conskullation, which would be the female version and-"

"Quit prattling!" Hydrus Conskullation shouted. "Give me the Driver or have it ripped from your lifeless body!"

"I'll go with option 3," Hinata replied as he pulled a large metallic device from behind his back. "Destroy you and your Meteorite goons."

"That's strong talk coming from a pathetic human," Hydrus Conskullation said. "Have any final words before I destroy you?"

"Yeah, you won't be destroying me…" Hinata said as he placed the device against his abdomen, causing a belt to appear and wrap around his waist.

"Celestial Driver!" the device announced as the belt connected all the way around. Two clips appeared on the belt, one on each side. Inside each clip were four little areas vaguely sphere-like. On the left clip was a pink sphere in the first slot and a red sphere in the second slot and on the right was a green sphere in the first slot. As for the Driver itself, it had a large glass-like case in the center with a handle on each side of the case. On the inside of the case was a yellow circle and silver arm connected to some kind of circular track around the yellow circle. Each of the handles had a red trigger on it near where the hands should go.

"...Because I've made my choice and I choose to fight!" Hinata shouted as he pressed the triggers and pulled the handles outwards.

"Ready to Launch!" the Driver announced as the glass case opened. It appeared that pulling the handles had somehow opened the case.

Hinata pulled the green sphere from the right clip and put it onto the end of the silver arm before closing the case.

"Ignition!" the Driver said, making the sound of a rocket launching before it began to chant: "Now Entering Orbit! Now Entering Orbit!"

Hinata struck a pose before he placed both hands on the handles and pulled the triggers.

"Henshin!" he shouted as he pushed the handles towards each other, the triggers still held under his fingers.

The silver arm began to rotate, causing the green sphere to circle around the yellow circle. As it began to glow, a green sphere appeared and began to orbit Hinata himself. A navy under suit with a silver mouthpiece appeared on his body as the large green sphere reached Hinata's front. It then shattered before the shards formed into armor pieces that attached to the under suit. These armor pieces included wrist and ankle bands, knee pads, a chest plate with shoulder pads and a crest shaped like a "U" separating two eyepieces shaped like continents.

"Orbit Shift!" the Driver announced as the pieces attached to Hinata's body. "Absolutely Terra-fying for Evil! Kamen Rider Celestial, Now Orbiting Earth!"

Lastly, silver stripes appeared on Hinata's sides and traveled from the wristbands to the kneepads, traveling through the chest plate as well. A silver cross inside a circle, the astrological symbol for Earth, appeared in the center of the chest plate.

"Still think you're going to destroy me?" Kamen Rider Celestial taunted as he took a fighting stance.

"I do!" Hydrus Conskullation shouted as he pointed a finger forward. "Get him, Meteorites!"

The gray and orange minions charged forward as Celestial ran to meet them. As a Meteorite threw a punch, Celestial blocked it with his palm before slamming his own fist into the Meteorite's chest. As the Meteorite stumbled backwards, Celestial pressed the attack, landing a roundhouse kick in the stomach on another one before hammer fisting a third in the head. For a few minutes, he kept knocking the goons down with different karate moves. However, no matter how much he hit them, they just continued to swarm him.

"Ugh! Just go down already!" Hinata complained as he looked around at the Meteorites. "Guess I'll have to force you to stay down!"

He grabbed the left handle on his Driver and pulled the trigger as he pushed the handle, which had pushed itself out during the transformation, into the main body before pulling it out again. The symbol on his chest glowed as a medium-sized cylinder flew out of the center of the symbol and into his outstretched hand.

"Telescope Caliber!" the Driver announced.

"You're in trouble now!" Celestial shouted as he flicked his wrist, causing the cylinder to extend forward in slightly shrinking sections. As each of the three new sections slid forward, they locked into place with a click. The blade was about 2 feet long, making it somewhere between a short sword and a longsword.

If the Meteorites were impressed, they didn't show it. Instead, they surrounded him in a double enclosed circle, trying to overwhelm the Kamen Rider with their sheer numbers. That soon proved to be their mistake.

Celestial let out a new battle cry as he slashed with the Telescope Caliber in a wide circle. The blade sliced cleanly through the first line of Meteorites. As the other line of Meteorites tried to back up, Celestial leapt at one side of them while bringing his sword down in a two-handed slash, causing a shock wave to be released. That entire half of Meteorites crumbled in on themselves as Celestial lowered his blade.

"Who's next?" he asked as he whirled around to look at the other half of the Meteorites. As he was about to charge, they raised their palms as one and launched orange energy blasts at him. He dove out of the way of the attack before hearing a scream.

"Kumiko!" Celestial shouted as he looked over at where Kumiko had been. The young woman was now crawling backwards away from Hydrus Conskullation. "There's no way I'm getting there in time! So there's only one thing to do…"

The Telescope Calibur disappeared as he grabbed the handles on his Driver and pulled the trigger before pulling them outwards.

"Ready to Launch!" the Driver announced.

"Let's switch things up!" Celestial shouted as he pulled the pink sphere from his left holder and placed it on the silver arm inside the Driver before closing the glass case.

"Ignition!" the Driver said, making the sound of a rocket launching before it began to chant: "Now Entering Orbit! Now Entering Orbit!"

Without another word, he pulled the triggers on the handles and pushed them inwards, causing the arm to spin once more and the sphere to glow. A new pink sphere orbited him a few times before stopping in front of him and shattering. The shards formed into wrist and ankle bands, heart shaped knee pads, a chest plate with fire-like shoulder pads and a flame-like crest separating two small "jets" of fire that served as the eyepieces The green armor on Celestial flew off as the pink armor pieces attached.

"Orbit Shift! With Burning Flames Comes Burning Passion! Kamen Rider Celestial, Now Orbiting Venus!" the Driver announced as the pieces attached and silver stripes appeared in the same place as the green form had had. However, instead of a cross inside of a circle on the chestplate, the astrological symbol for Venus appeared, more commonly known as the female symbol.

Celestial pulled the left trigger before pushing in and pulling out the left handle again.

"Venus Shot!" the Driver announced as a silver blaster with pink-flame highlights appeared out of the symbol on Celestial's chestplate before falling into his awaiting hand.

All this had occurred in about 30 seconds and luckily Kumiko had been crawling away fast enough that Hydrus Conskullation hadn't caught her yet.

"Stay away from her!" Celestial shouted as he pulled the trigger a few times, causing blasts of pink flame to fire out of the barrel. The blasts struck Hydrus Conskullation in the back, causing him to stumble forward a bit and almost fall on Kumiko. However, the Conskullation righted himself at the last minute before whirling around.

"Leave her alone," Celestial said as he leveled the blaster at Hydrus Conskullation. "You want me? Come and get me."

"This'll be fun," Hydrus Conskullation said as he charged towards Celestial.

"If you meant for me, you'd be right," Celestial said as he put a hand down onto the right handle of his Driver. He pulled the trigger before pushing the handle into the Driver and pulling it out again.

"Venus! Extinction Event!" the Driver announced as the sphere on the metal arm began to glow. The glow flowed through the glass casing of the Driver and began to gather around the end of the blaster's barrel.

"Time to knock you into orbit!" Celestial shouted as he pulled the trigger. A huge stream of flames launched out of the blaster and expanded as it traveled, forming a cone shape. The stream flew into Hydrus Conskullation, bombarding him with flames. He buffeted from the attack before exploding with a scream. Celestial swung the blaster around as it continued to spray flame, striking the remaining Meteorites and destroying them. Celestial released the trigger before the Venus Shot disappeared in a flash of silver.

There was a flash of light as Hinata detransformed before running over to Kumiko and offering her a hand.

"Thanks for the save," Kumiko said as she allowed Hinata to pull her up.

"Of course," Hinata said. "I'll always be there to help, whether it's monsters or other things."

"Though you might have gone a little overboard…" Kumiko said as she gestured to the smoldering flames scattered around the blackened grass.

"Oops…" Hinata said as he looked around at the damaged grass.

"I thought I told you before that you weren't being conscious of collateral damage when using Venus Orbit," Kumiko said. "Weren't you paying attention then?"

"I sincerely doubt grass of all things is 'collateral damage'," Hinata countered.

"Fine," Kumiko said with a sigh. "Just…be more careful, alright? Not just for everyone else's sake, but also your own. You already know the government isn't exactly too happy with your superheroing."

"With everything going on with the Professor right now? Trust me, I know," Hinata said as he walked over to the damaged telescope. "Man, I just got this!"

"We're already heading to Saku's shop tomorrow anyway," Kumiko said. "You can just pick up a new one then."

"Yeah…" Hinata said before sighing. "I guess we're done stargazing for tonight, then."

"I guess so," Kumiko said as she picked up her backpack. "I'm going to head home."

"Need me to walk you there?" Hinata asked. "Tokyo isn't exactly the safest place at night."

"I may not be able to fight off a Conskullation like you can, but a human is a different story," Kumiko said. "I'll be fine. See you tomorrow."

"See you," Hinata said as he waved to his best friend's retreating form. He looked down at the blackened ground for a minute before his eyes went huge. "That idea! It's back!"

He began to look around on the ground for the notebook Kumiko had given him. He finally found it right next to the telescope and was about to reach down and grab it when it burst into flames.

"Hot hot hot!" Hinata shouted as he recoiled. He watched as the notebook slowly succumbed to the flames. He let out a sigh as the flames slowly died down.

"Guess that idea's just never going to hit paper," he said. "Oh well…"

He looked up to the stars again, lost in thought…

Hinata Hoshino is an amateur astronomer who was one day bonded with the Celestial Driver. Their goal? To kill Hinata, take the Celestial Driver and conquer the planet! Thus begins the story of a young man "chosen" to save the world!

Kamen Rider Celestial Episode 1: Who Am I? I'm an Astronomer AND a Kamen Rider! Coming early September 2022

Hey guys! Unfortunately, Legendary Knights will be on the back burner for a little while as I focus on this series. I've been more interested in Kamen Rider than Power Rangers/Super Sentai lately and I want to put that interest into a new story. Legendary Knights is NOT canceled. I'm just not sure when I'll get to it. I'll give more information as soon as I've decided what I'm doing. I hope you enjoy THIS story in the meantime.

You know what? I was going to save this for the end of the first chapter, but I feel like sharing it. The casting. I stopped using the character creator I had originally been using on the PR Fanon Wiki (and would have used for the KR Fan Fiction one) for a few reasons and started looking into fan-casting. As such, I feel a need to reveal who I have "cast" as Hinata and Kumiko so people can better enjoy this story, so here it is:

Hinata Hoshino (Kamen Rider Celestial) is played by Okada Kenshi

Kumiko Mochizuki is played by Fumi Nikaido

I will be revealing most of, if not the rest of, the other castings after the characters appear in episode 1. Look forward to that! If you don't know who those actors are (and I wouldn't expect you to, as they haven't appeared in Rider before!) Google Images is a magical place.

Anyway, that's enough out of me. Time to get back to planning and writing! I look forward to any and all reviews, favorites or follows that come my way. I always appreciate it!
