It was another lovely day for Marinette and her boyfriend, Luka. They sat on a bench, and Luka played his guitar while Marinette sat beside him, enjoying his gentle tunes.

They dated for over three years now, and it was the best years of Marinette's life. Luka fit her better than anyone, and her boyfriend always made her feel worthy even if she stumbled a lot.

But sometimes, Marinette remembered embarrassing moments on her not-so-good days.

"Luka," Marinette said. She almost regretted saying his name because she didn't want to interrupt his guitar playing. But Luka played his guitar softer so she could speak.

"Yes, Marinette," he said, giving her his loving smile as usual.

Marinette swallowed and thought about what she was going to say for a moment.

"Remember when I liked Adrien and insisted you were just a friend in front of him?" A blush of embarrassment formed on Marinette's face.

Luka continued playing his music calmly, hoping to calm her down as well. His smile didn't waver, showing he took no offense on that day. "I remember," he said.

She knew it was water under the bridge by now since she and Adrien did not work out and her relationship with Luka is still going strong, but she still felt guilty. Marinette knew that carelessness could push people away.

After that day, Marinette did realize that Luka was a good friend, and she didn't want to lose him after dating Adrien. So she made Luka a friendship bracelet of cerulean and sapphire beads.

A bracelet Luka still wore on his wrist to this day, he smiled at it fondly.

"I'm sorry! I never should've said that! I was obviously wrong!" Marinette said.

Luka smiled at her and played a sweet tune.

Marinette managed to smile at how charming and loyal he was.

"I am surprised you still loved me after that," Marinette said.

"Hmm, well, you can't get rid of me that easily," Luka said, holding up his bracelet. "I am connected to you."

Marinette blushed. She hoped that was true. Because regardless of how much her past self messed up, she couldn't bear losing Luka.

"And I loved you so much that I was willing to accept that you only saw me as a friend," Luka said.

Luka put down his guitar and moved to Marinette's side to place his arm around her.

Luka's words and loving touch made her realize that he loved her enough to let her go, as that old tried and true saying went. Luka's love was so selfless in a world of people who were so desperate for romance that they become selfish.

"I guess it all worked out," Marinette admitted with a smile.

Luka nodded and softly pressed his forehead against her causing her to giggle. Then he took her hand and placed her other hand over the friendship bracelet he held dear.

"I don't take offense to what you said, especially now," Luka said.

"Especially since you are more than just my beautiful melody…."

"Hm?" Marinette said.

Luka smiled at her. His ocean blue eyes gleamed.

"You're not just my lover, my melody, and my muse…."

Marinette was still lost as he took her hand and kissed it.

"You're my best friend too."

Marinette was stunned for a moment, but then she became touched when she came to realize Luka's message. Marinette's heart skipped a beat.

"Oh…" Marinette said. "... I'm honored."

Marinette then regretted saying it like that. She was hoping he didn't come off as offended. But Luka saw the neon pink blush on her face.

Marinette was too flustered to say it at the time, but she felt the same way.

It felt amazing to have someone to love who was also your best friend.
