Okay so I decided to write this because I was bored and I have nothing better to do. Yeh, not a great writer but I do hope everyone enjoys :). This is also my first serious attempt at writing with an OC.

I also do not own Yugioh nor do I own any of the characters or anything, just my story and a couple OCs lol.

Also rated M just in case of any mature things that will/may pop up such as violence, graphic details, strong language, etc.

And I am unfortunately an awful writer that takes forever to update... well, we'll see how far I get with this one :D

Whoever thought the world was peaceful was wrong. Whoever thought my hands were clean were wrong. So what if my story begins with tragedy? I am perfectly aware of all that I am capable of doing.

Except I'm not.

Right, because it also ends in a tragedy. I held my hands close to my heart while I began to reminisce.

"Get up, get ready," he spoke, tired of my routine. I could only let out a breath before I stood up. I held my hand over the ground as a staff appeared, covered in roots and winded branches. I spoke of a spell before the ground erupted with the dead. I took a step forward as the corpses looked up at their new ruler. I only stared, tired of the smell of blood, tired of pointless time, tired of my burdens and this curse.

I am tired of this godforsaken war.

I smiled at a memory, only for a frown to follow.

"Seki, I give up," I muttered. "I'll give in, so please let him go." A hand wrapped around my throat before tugging and pulling me towards the owner.

"Tell me your curse and I'll do what you ask." I simply looked up to stare at his bright golden eyes.

"You already know yours, why can't you be happy with that?" I exhaled my response, feeling weak and exhausted. He didn't seem to like my answer.

"How unfortunate for you to bind yourself with that pathetic spirit." Despite the harsh intentions, he spoke so elegantly.

"He was once human, he was a king, he was a ruler," he rolled his eyes as if he didn't care so I tried again. "He was once human, just like the both of us." He threw me to the ground. Oh he definitely didn't like that.

"Don't compare me to a thing like that," he growled, I assume to intimidate me, and walked away. I simply stared at the bodies behind me before I smiled. I had someone, or rather something, to talk to now that he was gone. I leaned down and held out my hand to address them.

"Well then, would you like to hear a story?"

It was a busy Monday morning for the students at Domino High. It had been an eventful month for Yugi and the gang, since there was the incident with Otogi and his father that ultimately resulted in a fire. Yugi was hospitalized for a short period of time before he was discharged and allowed back onto the school campus with little to no injuries. School so far, was the same. Anzu and the others greeted Yugi before they hurried to their classes.

"Good morning teacher!" He spoke so cheerfully as he took a seat. Honda was freaking out about the homework and Jounouchi was no where to be found. Anzu smiled at the act, thinking about how oddly bright Yugi was compared to the spirit of the puzzle.

"Good morning Yugi. Now," the teacher turned to his students. "I assume you all had no problems with these trig functions? Or were there any questions?"

Right, math class first thing in the morning was such a genius idea, the bell didn't even ring yet.

"Uh, number eight?" A student called out and everyone looked at the problem. "How?" One word was spoken, yet it was enough.

"Right, so you know how tangent squared theta plus one is cosecant squared theta, and that cotangent is one divided by tangent," the bell rang and the teacher continued explaining, writing down what he was saying. "From there you want to..." the teacher rambled on but Yugi's mind simply wandered.

He thought about the spirit in the puzzle. Bakura had said that he was pharaoh, a king, but it only complicated things more. He had memories of course and he was once human. All it did however, was make things real. The spirit would leave eventually, something Yugi hoped would never come true.

"Now," the teacher started again, catching Yugi's attention. "I assume you all had no problems with these trig functions? Or were there any questions?" The boy's eyebrows furrowed, visibly confused.

Did he just... repeat himself? "Uh, number eight?" The same student in the same tone.

Is this a joke?

"How?" Everyone looked down at the problem except Yugi.

I'm not imagining this right? This just happened?

'No, you're not imagining things aibou,' Yami, assured the boy. 'It's like we went back in time.'

Yeah. But I don't think the others noticed. He thought as he inspected the room.

"... squared theta, and that tangent, oh! You made it!" Everyone's attention went to the door where a new student stood. Yugi felt lost and confused. What just happened? Moments later, the bell rang. The new student simply smiled, her hair long and black as she wore the school uniform. The teacher gave her a piece of chalk. "Would you like to introduce yourself?" She looked down as if to inspect it, and then grabbed it.

"Sure," her smile practically gleamed. She wrote her name. "Shinji Shio," she wrote on the board. "That is my name. Quite odd but I hope that doesn't affect anything! Please take care of me." She bowed down and took her seat.

It was an odd name, it just made everyone wonder what her parents were thinking.

"Okay. Where were we? Oh yes, so," the teacher continued with the explanation and all Yugi could do was stare at the new student. She looked prim and proper, but the thing was, she didn't appear the first time. She only appeared on the second, changing the scenario. She glanced over in his direction and he quickly looked at the board, focusing on the lesson.

If he had continued staring, he would've noticed the mischievous grin on her face.

After what seemed like forever, class finally ended, but it also meant they needed to move to another class. Yugi had an art class, a class he didn't necessarily love, but it was also a class he didn't mind. It didn't require much brain power, but it did require some skill.

He went to grab his materials before he noticed the new student in front of him.

"Oh uh, hi," she quietly spoke. "I'm new here and I was wondering if you would be my partner? I already asked the teacher about the assignment." She showed her hands which held the necessary materials needed. Yugi, feeling it would be rude to reject her request, smiled before grabbing his own set of materials. They moved to their designated spots before continuing with their assignment.

"So," Yugi broke the ice. "Where did you transfer from?" She didn't break eye contact with her canvas as she traced a faint line.

"I was born here in Japan, but I grew up in America," she dipped her paint brush into the water before switching the color to an opaque blue. "I transferred here because," she paused, "well, because I wanted to see something for myself." Yugi looked up at her.

"And your parents didn't mind?" She went silent for a moment.

"No." A simple response packed with so little emotion, so Yugi decided not to pry.

"Okay, and I'm done!" She flipped her canvas to show it to her partner. "It's you! But with," she glanced at her canvas, "a ribbon," she spoke questioningly. "Hehe, I'm not very good so I decided to cover my mistakes with this ribbon thing." Yugi responded with a laugh before showing his own work.

"Oh I feel rather embarrassed. Your art is a lot brighter than mines." It was her, or at least it was supposed to show her, however much of her features were covered with splotches of blue and black crows. "I guess we both managed to cover things up with something else," he chuckled hesitantly.

"Huh, who knew you saw me with such cold colors." Yugi shrugged.

Well, I have no idea why these colors were chosen. I never really enjoyed this pallet of colors.

"Well, it seems to suit you?" He then thought about it before realizing how rude it may have been. "Ah! But I don't think of you as a cruel person! You seem rather," he paused to think of a word that suited her.

Lost, confused, saddened by something, but it's not like I can say that now can we?

"Kind," he spoke, still lost in thought. She just smiled as she looked down as her canvas, a look of confusion, or maybe it was pity, clear on her face. Before he could ask her anything, she got up to speak with the teacher.

Meet me in classroom xx when school ends.

Yugi saw his history teacher referring to the textbook in his history class, the final period of the day. His eyebrows furrowed as he didn't remember anything after art class. What was even more odd was how he regained consciousness. He didn't open his eyes since his eyes were already open, rather it was as if something had allowed him to see and comprehend. The teacher closed the textbook and ended the class. Yugi only stared at his desk, his hands, his textbook, to the left of him, and to the right of him. What happened?

'Who do suppose left us that message? I'm sure you're as confused as I am,' his partner spoke, confirming Yugi's suspicions. True, it did seem out of the ordinary, but perhaps it was just his brain wanting to forget? But if it were just his head, then why was the spirit also affected? He had no answer, so instead he just decided to wait until school ended. Hopefully the classroom had some answers, Yugi thought.

Yugi had mentioned the note with the gang and of course, some of them, Jounouchi and Honda, were quite riled up and ready to fight if called for. Others thought it was some sort of trap, something that seemed quite common for the gang. The boy shrugged and stated that if something did go wrong, at least they had each other and that nothing that went their way would be impossible to handle.

The spirit that resided in the puzzle simply stayed silent, something Yugi didn't expect, and kind of worried him. But regardless, they attended the classroom.

It was an empty classroom, that was the first thing they all noticed and expected, since it was a classroom that was being prepped for storage use (for reasons the students could not wrap their heads around). It was empty, but a student simply sat on a desk, waiting for them to enter. She smiled ever so innocently.

"Uh, Shinji-san?" Yugi was the first to speak.

"Please," she put a hand to her chest, referring to herself. "Call me Shio."

"Alright Shio, ya sent that message?" Now it was Jounouchi's turn to speak. Him and Honda, albeit confused, were ready to defend the little gang. Who knew what kind of person she was? Who knew what awful powers she possessed?

She held out her hand and the boy just stared. Feeling compelled to walk towards her, Yugi walked. First one step, then another, and another until he reached her hand. Now the boy's friends were clearly against this notion, but did nothing to stop him. After all, they had faith in the boy, full faith that he wouldn't make any wrong choices. Plus, he was only a few feet away from him, what could go wrong?

Yugi held out his hand to meet hers. The moment their fingers touched a bright light shone and blinded everyone in the room.

Once it died down, everyone opened their eyes.

"Ugh, what was that?" Honda groaned, rubbing his eyes to soothe them.

"I don't even- woah," Jounouchi stared at the now, two high schoolers who held the same spiky tri colored hair. There was a moment of silence before Anzu spoke up.

"Uh, Yugi?" She held her breath, wondering if what just happened was what she and everyone thought. They both turned around.

It was.

"Holy mother of- there're two Yug's!"

"Uh," Yugi stared at the other as if looking into a mirror. The pharaoh blinked as he had no idea how to respond. Yugi laughed nervously. "I believe this is our first time meeting?" Yami acknowledged the boy and smiled.

"I guess so." He then turned towards the girl.

"What did you do Shio?" She clicked her tongue.

"Do you know my name?" She made eye contact with him. When the room fell silent, she took a step closer to him and smiled. "Would you like to see her? She's been dying to see you." Yami immediately hesitated. Who was "she"?

"Yes," he spoke almost instinctively. Now everyone was on their toes, unsure of who or what this "she" was.

She took a step back before hunching over and hanging her arms. Suddenly wings abruptly appeared from her back, beautiful bright white wings before it changed colors. It changed into a deep black, as dark as night. Once her wings changed colors, they retracted before she stood normally and opened her eyes. They changed into a forest green.

"Well then pharaoh," she spoke, her composure now completely different. "A high school is the last place I expected to see you." Everything was different about her. Now Shio was fairly confident, but this one, this one was more than just confident... She felt like the embodiment of pride. She walked close to him again, a hand to her chest as she referred to herself. "Now then, do you remember my name?"

Yami felt confused by these questions. Did he?

"No." She dropped her head slightly, presumably to give him a threatening glare.

"I am quite disappointed in you pharaoh. After all you of all people should know never to lie." Her hand reached out and wrapped around his throat. "Especially to me." Yami stood his ground, but he had to be honest, he was terrified. "Tell me my name."

"Furane Suzuka," he croaked. How did he know this? Why? He didn't know. Though he noticed how the corners of her lips shifted downward as if to frown, her poker face remained. "At least," he started again. "Is the name you told me to give you if you ever asked. Your true name is never to be discussed." She face quickly changed into a smile, letting him go as she retreated back.

"To think you'd remember that but not your own life. How peculiar." She sat down on the desk that was moved up front. "Now," she crossed her legs as she stared down at everyone in the room. "Any questions?"

A/n yay! First chapter!! Next chapter has a lot of dialogue (something I'm not fantastic at...) but I still hope you all enjoy!!!
