The Gypsy Caravan Part 1

One bright summer day in early July, 13-year-old Jane Turnkey was assisting 15-year-old Drake Gardner with tending to his garden.

"These vegetables will make a wonderful stew for the royal family's supper tonight, Rake." Jane observed.

"I'll take these big baskets to Pepper then." Rake said.

Rake lifted the heavy baskets to take them to the kitchen.

At that moment, 9-year-old Prince Cuthbert and 7-year-old Princess Lavinia entered the garden.

"Jane! Jane!" Cuthbert exclaimed.

"The gypsies are coming! The gypsie are coming! Can we go and see their carnival?" Lavinia asked Jane.

Jane gave the idea some thought before she answered.

"That sounds like fun." Jane answered the prince and princess.

"Yes!" Cuthbert exclaimed.

"We're going to the carnival!" Lavinia agreed, she too was excited to see the people in bright colorful clothing.

Cuthbert and Lavinia raced off to tell their parents that Jane would be taking them into town to see the gypsies.

Dragon landed by Jane's side.

"Are you ready for patrol, Jane?" Dragon asked.

"Yes." Jane answered.

While they were out on their patrol, Jane and Dragon heard something from below them.

"Stop! Thief!" a person called out.

"We had better land!" Dragon called to Jane.

Dragon landed in the village square near the spot where the scream had come from.

Jane raced over to the person who screamed.

"What seems to be the problem here?" Jane asked the woman.
