The Gypsy Caravan Part 2
"That gypsy stole my purse!" the woman exclaimed.
Jane raced off in the direction the woman pointed in.
Jane found the boy but he had absolutely nothing in his hands.
"Okay, You, hand it over!" Jane ordered.
"Hand what over," the boy asked Jane. "I haven't taken a thing!"
Jane looked at the boy's hands, "A woman claims you had stolen her purse, where is it?" she asked the boy.
"I don't know," the boy said to Jane. "but I do know that I don't have it!"
"What's your name? And, how old are you?" Jane asked.
"My name is Conan," Conan answered. "and I am 13-years-old."
"I'm Jane Turnkey, I'm a knight-in-training in King Caradoc's guard," Jane said to Conan, bowing. "and I too am 13-years-old."
Conan sighed, "I guess you're going to turn me over to the king?" he asked Jane.
"Hardly! One of my best friends comes from carnival folk," Jane laughed. "however, I will speak with King Caradoc on your behalf."
"Thank you, Jane." Conan said.
That evening at Kippernia castle, Jane saw King Caradoc signinging some very important documents sitting on his throne.
Jane stepped forward, "Your majesty?" she asked.
The king looked up at his only female squire.
"Yes, Jane?" Caradoc asked.
"A roma boy was accused of stealing from one of the villagers today while Dragon and I were on patrol this afternoon." Jane told the king seriously.
