Wukong snuck out of his room and through his own home. Trying to be as discreet as possible. The golden furred monkey demon didn't transform to make himself smaller or anything, as he passed the sleeping forms of Tang, Mei, and MK, in his little living room, because he thought he was doing a good enough job to not need to.

Wukong crept onto his kitchen. Pausing for only a second, straining his ears for any unusual sounds. Once he felt safe, he went to his cupboards and blindly reached into the dark space. As he felt around, he couldn't find what he was looking for in the hidden compartments and he breathed out a curse.

"Looking for these?"

The kitchen lights suddenly turning on and the monkey demon was blinded by the lights, but he quickly adjusted to see Pigsy and Sandy sitting at the kitchen table together. The pig demon looked disappointed while the river demon looked neutral but concerned. In Pigsy's grip, he was holding up a bag of sour, peach flavored marshmallows. He shook the contents of the bag for emphases.

"What! Pfff. What? Nooooo," Wukong said, as he subtly tried to walk closer towards them, "How can I be looking for marshmallows when you guys took all of my supply."

"Monkey King, you have a problem," Sandy said, "We know you're immortal, and eating nothing but marshmallows won't kill you, but it's still unhealthy."

"We're having this intervention for a reason," Pigsy said, "Now. We're not going to ask again. Is this all of them? Or are we going to have to start flipping floorboards to make sure you don't have anymore?"

Wukong laughed at that as he made his way closer, "What? No. I'm not going to put perfectly good food in my—"

He lunged for Pigsy as he tried to grab the bag of marshmallows.

Pigsy dived away from him, and Sandy managed to catch the demon monkey in mid-air. Wukong wiggled and squirmed in Sandy's strong grip. The demon monkey was perfectly capable of completely breaking free from Sandy and taking that bag of marshmallows from Pigsy, but he also wasn't willing to full on obliterate them both just to get his favorite treat.

Pigsy stood up and dusted himself off as he angrily looked at Wukong.

"This is obviously more than just you wanting to have a sweet treat and being too lazy to make yourself anything else. Sandy's here for when you're grown up enough to actually talk about it."

Pigsy huffed at the struggling golden monkey, then stomped out of the kitchen to dispose of the marshmallow bag. On his way out, he passed a blurry eyed MK who was woken up by the strangled monkey noises Wukong was making as he wiggled in Sandy's grip.

Wukong stilled at the sight of his protégé. His previous shamelessness for what he wants quieting into a sheepishness.

MK stared at Wukong, then he turned to Sandy and said, "Found more, huh…"

"Yep. I'm pretty sure we've found them all, but I bet he has more hidden around that he's forgotten about."

MK yawned as he walked up to them, then holding his arms out he said, "I'll take him now."

"Kid, please," Wukong weakly protested.

Sandy handed the demon monkey over to MK and the young man hefted him over his shoulder. Wukong allowed this, but not without whining.

"Nope. We're sleeping. If you want a midnight snack," MK started to say as he walked over to the counter by the fire stove. The counter had a bowl full of fresh fruit they brought over with them, "you can have a banana."

"Bananas aren't even a natural part of a monkey's diet," Wukong complained.

"Neither are marshmallows," MK said, grabbing a banana.

Sandy waved goodbye to them as MK walked out of the kitchen with the Monkey King in tow.

Sandy turned off the kitchen lights as he made his way to bed. The small house was now illuminated by moonlight. Once in the small living room, MK tapped Wukong's tail with the banana, and the monkey demon grabbed it with his tail. Then the young man placed Wukong on the floor with Mei and Tang, on top of all the piles of pillows and blankets they made for their bed.

Mei yawned sleepily as Tang shifted over to give them room.

"Looks like someone's in trouble," Mei teased, her eyes still closed as she reached out and patted the Monkey King's head.

MK grabbed a blanket and laid his head on his mentor's chest and wrapped his arms around his midsection. Wukong frowned heavily at this, the demon just wanted some marshmallows. Is that too much to ask?

Somewhere out of the dark, Mo the cat, came trotting over and curled up next to the demon monkey's head.

Mei moved in and was spooning MK while resting her head in the crook of Wukong's armpit.

On his other side Tang scooted closer, pressing his back flush against him, while he spooned a pillow.

Wukong was trapped under a mountain of his loved ones. Which isn't as bad as having an actual mountain on top of him, but the idea of the execution is still the same. And even worst they're all human, so he can't even be a little rough like he was with Sandy and Pigsy.

So, the demon monkey laid on the floor as he listened to the humans around him slowly fall back to sleep. Eventually, he did eat that banana that he was holding on to, but instead of peeling it and eating the soft center only, he ate the entire thing like a weird pickle.

When the soft light of dawn started to creep into his home, Wukong finally submitted to sleep.

When Wukong opened his eyes, he found MK and Mei laying on either side of him and giggling quietly at something that they had shared on their phones. In the kitchen he could hear Tang, Sandy, and Pigsy talking with each other as the smell of rice noodles and cooked vegetables tickled his nose.

Wukong closed his eyes, pretending to be asleep, just to see how long it'd take for one or both kids to walk off to eat so he could sneak away and find some marshmallows, when his stomach gave him away.

He kept his eyes closed as he felt Mei look up at him.

"Morning, Mr. King."

Wukong kept still, staying relaxed and breathing evenly, hoping to cast doubt about his consciousness. Then his stomach growled again.

Mei and MK didn't say anything, but he felt them shift around, like they were silently speaking with each other. Then he felt fingers dig into the soft squishy part under his ribs and he wasn't expecting that.

"Dear Heavenly Buddha!" Wukong screeched as the two young adults laughed at his flailing.

The two of them continued to tickle the Monkey King until he was undoubtedly and unequivocally wide awake.

Gasping for breath, Wukong said, "Okay! Okay! Okay!"

They stopped, but their giggling didn't. As he was catching his breath, he watched MK and Mei lean against each other as laughter wracked their bodies.

He scooted out from underneath them so he could sit up. He crossed his arms over his chest and tried to look disgruntled, but their laughter was infectious, and he couldn't help the smile that was tugging at the corner of his lips.

"If you three are done, brunch is ready," Tang said from the entrance of the kitchen.

Their giggling quieting down, Mei and MK stood up and they each grabbed one of Wukong's hands and helped him to his feet.

They left him alone in the little living room, expecting him to follow them into the kitchen.

The monkey demon stood for a second. He could run out now and get more marshmallows. They wouldn't be able to stop him from flying off. Wukong took a step towards the entrance to his house. Then he was stopped by the uproarious laughter that started to echo from his kitchen.

He looked towards the kitchen, looked back at his front door, then looked back at the kitchen again. Wukong slumped forward as he sighed, then he walked over to the kitchen.

As he entered the kitchen he asked, "Okay, what's the joke? What's so funny?"
