Okay this came out of the blue from a conversation I was having from a commenter. Set during Tigerclaw, Whitestorm and Spottedleaf days as apprentices!

Tigerpaw's nose crinkled as he held in a sneeze, his pale amber eyes were watering, making his vision blurry as he tried to make his massive paws step lightly through the tall pollen covered grass. A fuzzy outline of Whitepaw's pure, snowy-white thick-furred pelt was just barely seen from the corner of his vision.

If Tigerpaw knew anything about his denmate, Tigerpaw knew that the white apprentice was having just as much of a hard time as Tigerpaw was having.

"Concentrate!" Thistleclaw's demanding yowl nearly shattered Tigerpaw's sensitive hearing. Whitepaw visibly flinched and Tigerpaw just barely managed to repress his own. "Are you training to be mice or warriors?"

Tigerpaw desperately wanted to prove he was no mice to his mentor. The last thing he wanted to be seen as was a failure. Already many of his Clanmates whispered about him behind his back, the jeers and disapproving gazes that fell upon him with every move that he made, his father's legacy hanging over his head like a black cloud. The only ones he felt that he could truly rely on was his mother, Whitepaw and his mentor. Everyone else wasn't as important.

However the sounds of Whitepaw retching filled his ears alongside the sour scent of regurgitated fresh-kill. Tigerpaw couldn't hold it in any longer and began coughing up the squirrel he had just this morning.

Both their mentors looked on in disgusted disbelief.

"If I wasn't so sick, I'd flay you're pelt like a robin." Tigerpaw groaned in agony as he rolled around one of the nests that were stationed outside the medicine cat's den, being checked over by a suspiciously satisfied Spottedpaw.

"I'd help you, Tigerpaw." Whitepaw groaned from another nest, his head buried underneath the moss and bracken, his tufted ears could hardly be seen sticking out and twitching.

Spottedpaw snorted in amusement, not seeming fazed in the least, acting as though Tigerpaw and Whitepaw would never act on their threat's. Tigerpaw would make sure to show her a thing or two when he gets better.

Tigerpaw was brought out of his inner brooding when Featherwhisker appeared with a bundle of herbs clamped between his jaws. The medicine cat gave both toms a disapproving look as he set them down.

"I know both of you are in pain. But don't take your bellyaching out on my apprentice."

"She's the one who caused us to be this way." Whitepaw practically wailed from underneath the moss, his voice muffled.

Featherwhisker scoffed, but the subtle twitch of his whiskers seemed a bit too suspicious for Tigerpaw's liking. "Nonsense. Two apprentices getting into things they shouldn't is what this is." The pale silver-gray medicine cat then turned back to the herbs he had brought out, there were two of them and they were bound in little parcels, he sat one down in front of Tigerpaw and the other in front of Whitepaw. "You need to eat these, the taste might not be all that pleasant, but it will help you feel better."

Mumbling a few curse words under his breath, Tigerpaw quickly ate up the herbs, the taste was much more foul than Featherwhisker had led them to believe, the giant pawed tabby apprentice wanted to gag but forced everything down.

"You two should have been more careful." Spottedpaw piped up, her amber eyes shining as the small, dark tortoiseshell-and-white medicine cat's apprentice stood over Tigerpaw's curled up form. "It was very mouse-brained of you both to go around eating flowers."

Tigerpaw felt scandalized and slightly embarrassed at the blatant mockery dripping from every word that came out of the medicine cat's apprentice's mouth. Spottedpaw was openly teasing them but denying any involvement, even when using their own words against them when they were the ones to make the statement about 'mouse-brained of you to go around eating flowers' it was insulting as much as Tigerpaw could see the irony.

Tigerpaw's head fell to his paws as he let out a huff of irritation. "Shouldn't medicine cats be more warm-hearted towards the sick? If you are just going to poke fun at us then you can go away."

Spottedpaw's black-tipped, gold-and-brown-striped tabby tail flicked behind her, the she-cat apprentice looked as though she was going to make a retort but, thankfully, she was interrupted by Featherwhisker.

"We seem to be low on marigold, Spottedpaw," the older medicine cat meows, "it seems we need to go and collect some more."

"But won't Tigerpaw and Whitepaw need someone to look after them?" Spottedpaw asked innocently, and Tigerpaw prayed to StarClan that Featherwhisker doesn't leave them alone with her.

StarClan seemed to be merciful as Featherwhisker gave a dismissive shrug. "They aren't going anywhere and will be fine on their own for a short time."

Tigerpaw felt relief as disappointment flashed across Spottedpaw's dark rimmed amber eyes, but that quickly gave way to excitement at the chance to get out of camp. Tigerpaw would give anything to get out of camp right now and back to training.

"Have fun collecting flowers." Tigerpaw said just for spite.

Spottedpaw didn't appear to be fazed by the gab, instead, an almost sadistic glint filled those misleading warm amber eyes, it almost terrified Tigerpaw.

"I'll be sure to bring you both back some." Spottedpaw said with a tilt to her head. Whitepaw seemed to grumble something but it was too quiet for Tigerpaw to make out.

"And don't worry, you should feel better by tomorrow!" Spottedpaw practically purred over her shoulder as she scampered after her mentor, the miserable groans from both of the sick apprentices sounding sweet to her ears as she disappeared through the fern tunnel.

This was very fun to write, I'll be honest!

Fun Facts:

This goes along with the argument the three were having back in Chapter 5!

Spottedleaf was much more sadistic back in her apprentice days but thankfully mellowed out to the nice and gentle she-cat we know today!

I do like Thistleclaw in Bluestar's Prophecy because of his relationship with Snowfur. If she had lived he would have been a better cat.

Poor Tigerpaw and Whitepaw…they deserved it though!!!
