Chapter One - Summoning

Sunlight peered into a room through the curtains, slowly moving across the floor, until it reached a bed. A muffled groan was heard as the occupant of the bed turned, pulling the covers over her head in a desperate attempt to escape the obnoxious intruder.

Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be as a voice echoed from outside the room, one that was a constant almost every single morning, "Kiyoko it's time to get up, or you will be late for school!"

"Urhhh…" The bundle under the sheets groaned in despair. The girl severely wished she could just stay in bed for the rest of the day, content in ignoring the outside world, but she had these annoying things called responsibilities to uphold.

Releasing another groan, the sheets were sent flying as she raised herself to a half-seated position. Rubbing her eyes, she yawned loudly, as black hair cascaded down her back and over her eyes. Glancing at the clock beside her bed, her eyes widen.

"Crap! Ringo is going to be here in fifteen minutes." The girl cursed lightly, as she jumped from bed, making a beeline for the bathroom.

After taking a shower in what might have been a record time if her current situation wasn't a common occurrence, she put on her school uniform, trying desperately to tame her hair at the same time before giving up on the impossible task.

Crossing into the living room, she came to a stop taking note of the very pointed raised eyebrow her father was sending her way.

"Late again, Kiyoko?" The man asked in slight amusement.

"A little." Kiyoko murmured eying the breakfast laid before her, before glancing at the clock on the wall.

"You're not going to skip breakfast again, are you?" Her mother inquired almost disapprovingly from her place near the kotatsu.

"I'll grab something on the way. Ringo is waiting for me." She shrugged apologetically.

Setting her bowl aside, the woman was quick to respond, "Every day is the same thing, Kiyoko!"

"Sorry!" she exclaimed, clapping her hands in front of herself before turning. "Now I really have to go. Bye!"

Releasing a huff, her mother shook her head, "Honestly, that girl."

"You can't blame her. She takes after you, after all, dear." The man commented offhandedly as his eyes surveyed the newspaper in his grasp. "I still remember how you were when we first started dating."

"That was so long ago… " the woman murmured, her eyes glazing slightly for a moment as her mind revisited memories from another time, before she shook them away, "... sometimes I wish she didn't resemble me so much…"

"It's not that bad." The man said as he lowered the newspaper, his eyes shining almost mischievously, "I find it endearing actually, it's part of the reason I fell in love with you."

"Shoosh you!" The woman chastised lightly, as some color went to her face, getting a small chuckle out of the man.

"Kiyoko! You're late!" A brown-haired girl exclaimed as she saw her friend exiting the house.

"I'm not that late, Ringo!" Kiyoko shot back as she closed the gate from her home.

Coming to a stop near the smaller girl, Ringo's lips turn upwards into a grin. "So late night again?"

Yes… "Not really," Kiyoko answered in a murmur that only served to make the other girl's grin widen.

"So you say, but your hair tells me a different story." Ringo laughed as she grasped a stray strand of black hair in her hand.

Grasping the strand and pulling it back, Kiyoko pouted, "You know I can't be bothered to fix it every mourning."

"If that's the case, then why don't you just cut it?" She asked as she fell in step with her friend, "You can't be bothered to do that either, right?"

Kiyoko just shrugged but didn't deny it.

With another laugh, Ringo shook her head in amusement."So what was it this time?"

"I stayed up late because we were doing a raid. I'm only missing that piece to complete my set." She explained. It hadn't been her fault that the cursed pants just refused to drop even when she had repeated the same raid twice, almost back to back the previous night.

"Really? I would have sworn you didn't go to sleep because you were watching that anime you have been talking about for ages."

"It's on my watch list, but only after I complete my set." Kiyoko declared as she pumped her fist. The last part of the seven-part set would unlock the completion bonuses, bonuses so strong that would immediately allow her to go for higher-level raids and dungeons.

Tonight! Tonight I will definitely get it!

"You are such an otaku Kiyoko…" Her friend sighed, but there was amusement in her voice.

"… and proud of it!"

Ringo released another laugh as she shook her head, her ponytail dancing like an autumn leaf in the wind with the motion, "Careful, or you will turn into a neet!"

If only… I could spend the entire day either playing games or watching anime, that would be a dream come true. Still, she sent her friend a small glare as she huffed to the side, " You say that but last time I check my grades were still above yours, so if one of us is at risk of turning into a neet is you, Ringo!"

"Ahaaa…" Ringo cued, as she patted her friend in the head, "… did I push a button I shouldn't have? Is little Kiyoko angry?"

"You…" Kiyoko growled as she lashed with her school bag. However, the taller girl dodged with a wide margin, laughing before dashing away. Soon she was hot on her friend's heels with a glare in her eyes, but even then there was a small almost invisible smile on her lips.

"Safe!" Kiyoko breathed as she touched the door of her classroom.

"Huff… Huff… Not safe!" Ringo growled between pants coming up from behind her, "It's always the same thing every single morning!"

"Can't be helped. I need food." Kiyoko shot back almost casually as she crossed the boundary.

"Yeah right! How hard is it to get up five minutes earlier and actually have breakfast at home like a normal person?!" her friend questioned from behind her.

"You ask too big of a sacrifi…" Her words were cut short as her gaze met a pair of green eyes that seemed to be burning a hole through her head.

Nanami… Kiyoko growled in her head as she matched glares with the blond girl on the other side of the room. Almost immediately, two other girls joined on either side, also glaring at her, but took a step back as a hand fell on her shoulder.

"You know that even if you try, you can't set her on fire with your eyes…" Ringo commented in a joking manner, but even then she felt her friend tighten her grip on her shoulder.

"If only god was so merciful…" Kiyoko whispered harshly, as she continued to lock eyes with her nemesis.

Hitomi Nanami, the self-proclaimed queen of her class, and the bane of Kiyoko's existence.

With a huff, she turned around, her blond, almost golden hair swaying with her, as she returned to whatever conversation she was having with her friends.

"Come on, let's get to our seats," Ringo advised, as she pushed her lightly on the shoulder.

With one final glance toward the girl, Kiyoko went to her seat, but her thoughts still remained on Nanami.

How I hate that witch! She growled once more to herself. Her animosity wasn't without reason, however, since there was another title that she could add to Nanami.

Bully. That was what the blond girl and her click were in a nutshell. The kind of group that preyed on the weak to make themselves feel better about their insecurities. During their first year, she had tried to bully her in their very first week, however that had lasted less than five minutes, the total amount of time required for Ringo to lose her patience and slam her fist in the blond girl's face without ceremony, something that immediately escalated to a full out brawl when both Nanami's click and Kiyoko joined the fray.

Her being an otaku and rather shy, someone that avoided most social interactions and preferred to be left to her own devices, had probably seemed like the perfect target to the blond bully. However, she also knew how to defend herself. Being the only girl in the family with five male cousins tended to get someone used to the usual scuffles.

Since then, the Blond girl had decided to try to make their lives as nightmarish as possible, through different tactics, such as spreading rumors about her and Ringo, the worst one, and the one that had set her off having been one alluding to a far intimate relationship with her friend. That had been at the end of their previous year, and usually, she had been content with ignoring said rumors, but there was something she valued above all, and that was her friendship with her best friend.

She clearly remembered when the rumors began to spread across the entire school, and as people looked at them snickering and whispering. She remembered that Ringo just smiled and tried to dismiss them, but she could see in her eyes how hurt she was, especially since unlike Kiyoko, Ringo actually liked to socialize. Everything had reached a boiling point when on an afternoon she found Ringo crying in a corner of their school. The rest had been a blur as she had marched into her class, but the image of her hand gripping the blond girl's hair as she smashed her face against the table until she broke her nose was still engraved in her mind. Of course, unlike their other fights, that one had become the talk of the school and both parties had been punished.

The event had also marked the end of the open hostilities between the two groups, but the feeling of resentment still lingered in both parties. It had also been the birth of her new nickname.

Samara.

Both were due to her long black hair and her seemingly vengeful temper. There was, however, a positive to her new title, such as everyone stopped spreading rumors about her and refused to come near her in fear of inciting her wrath.

All five feet of it… She thought with an equal measure of annoyance and amusement as she reached her seat. Opening her school bag, she began her morning ritual of laying everything on her desk.

"Kiyoko, did you study for the test?" Ringo asked from behind her in a whisper.

Laying one of her notebooks on the desk, she turned back to her friend. Apprehension filled Ringo's face, and she found herself releasing a sigh as she understood her friend's plight. "Yes, somewhat…" she murmured before racking through her bag, pulling another notebook, "… here."

"You're a lifesaver!" Ringo cheered in a not-so-subtle whisper, as she took the notebook and began to skim through it, "… like always, your notes are always organized and to the point!"

School notes and game notes are the two only things that I can organize in my life… She admitted to herself before something under her desk caught her attention. Her eyebrows furrowed as she pulled an envelope from under her table. Turning it around, her eyebrows rose an inch.

… To Nozomi Kiyoko, from a faithful admirer…

A love letter?! She considered in slight shock before dismissing the notion almost entirely. With her current reputation, the chances of it being true were slim to none. However, another suspicion crossed her mind, her gaze sharpening into a glare as she looked at her nemesis. The said girl seemed to not even be paying attention though, busy talking about mundane things with her friends.

Even then, the thought had taken root in her mind. It wouldn't be that outlandish to think that Nanami had been the culprit trying to mess with her once more.

God knows it wouldn't be the first time… She concluded and with a snort she put the envelope in her schoolbag's back pocket, as the teacher came into class. She wanted to see what Nanami had come up with this time before disposing of it.

If nothing else, I will get a laugh out of it.

As the day progressed she keep her eyes on Nanami, her gazes meeting a couple of times and those always turned into a stare-down death match, but Kiyoko had to give credit to the other girl, however begrudgingly it was. She had given nothing away.

Finishing packing her things in her backpack, she turned back, "Ready to go home?"

Her best friend blinked a couple of times before releasing a sigh.

"Kiyoko… Today is Wednesday…" she replied almost tiredly.

Kiyoko, for her part, tilted her head sideways, "So?"

With another sigh, her friend shook her head, " I have to go to the Kendo club, and you should too, since last I checked you were still a member."

She winced, trying to look apologetic, "Sorry, I forgot…"

"Honestly…" Ringo said exasperated, rising from her seat,"… If you lost interest then you should quit."

Releasing another wince, she lowered her head slightly. It hadn't been that she disliked Kendo, even if she sucked at it, but she couldn't also say that the reason she hadn't gone had been because the practice was eating away at her game time.

"At least try to be there Friday. I'm having a match and would appreciate the support." Ringo requested.

"I will be, promise!" Kiyoko assured her voice, raising a few degrees.

"I'll be waiting!" With a smile and a wave, her friend disappeared into the hallway.

Her gaze rested on the doorway, before her eyes moved to the window as the sun peered through.

Well, guess that's my cue to leave too. She decided before rising from the desk and making her way out the door.

Little did she know, that would be one of many promises that she wouldn't be able to keep…

Walking through the hallways of the school with a steady step Kiyoko did feel a small touch of guilt for not attending the club, but on the other hand she really wanted to get her final piece of equipment, so her character could finally break into the endgame. That thought filled her with excitement, as she exited the gates, leaving the building behind.

"Oh crap, that's right!" She exclaimed to herself. Lost in daydreaming, she had completely forgotten about the gift that Nanami had most likely left under her desk.

Reaching for her back pocket, she took out the envelope, noticing that there was something solid inside it.

"Just what the heck did that crazy bimbo hid in here?" She asked herself as she opened the letter, before peering inside. Turning it upside down, she shook it a little, as a small black and rectangular object dropped into her hand.

"A USB stick?" She concluded, turning it in her hand. Taking another look at the envelope, she realized there was nothing else inside.

Kiyoko wondered what the stick contained for a few moments. There was a small sense of curiosity, but she decided against it, so putting the USB stick back into the envelope, she hurried to the nearest garbage bin and threw it inside.

Don't know what was in there but it's probably something to mess with me, and I'm not giving her the satisfaction, curiosity be damned. She reasoned before going on her way.

A few moments later, a pale blue light glowed from the garbage bin for a brief moment before vanishing, something that caught the attention of two other students.

"Did you see that?" One of them asked.

With wide eyes, the other nodded, before approaching the garbage bin and peering inside.

"There's nothing inside…" He noted with a frown.

Taking a look too, the other shrugged, "Weird…"

"I'm home!" Kiyoko announced as she opened the door.

"Kiyoko, can you be a dear and pick up the mail before you hole yourself in your room?" A voice echoed from further down the hall.

"Sure mom." She replied, moving back out to their mailbox.

Shuffling with her keys with a tint of impatience, she picked the right one, before opening the box taking the letters inside, and began to sort through them, as she made her way inside.

Bills, bills, ramen coupons, more bills, and… She came to a complete stop as her eyes found a very familiar slightly crumbled envelope before she turned it for confirmation.

… To Nozomi Kiyoko, from a faithful admirer…

… P.S. - Please don't throw it in the garbage again, it was very rude…

Dread filled her being as she started looking around the street frantically. This can't be Nanami, she decided. The girl could be downright vicious when she wanted, but actually going to her house was outright crazy.

That means…

oh, my lord! I have a stalker! She realized fearfully, as her hands shook. In mere moments she had already crossed the boundary to her house, shutting the door behind her.

"Kiyoko, don't slam the door like that!" Her mother chimed, as she came into view, cleaning her hands on her apron.

Taking a deep breath, she had to ask, "Mom, did you see anyone weird in front of our house?"

Her mother gave her a confused look, before shaking her head, "No, I was in the kitchen the entire time and besides a couple of cars, our street has been strangely quiet. Why?"

The letter had been the same as she had thrown out, she was sure of it. So the only conclusion she could reach was that someone had been watching her as she threw the letter out, and the moment her back had been turned, they had retrieved it, then they added a post scrip tum message to it, and somehow got to her house before she did.

She had actually hurried home so they couldn't have been apart for more than a couple of minutes.

So chances are that they were still around, watching! She realized, as her eyes widened.

"Kiyoko, what's wrong?" Her mother asked worriedly.

Shaking her head, she moved past her mother and up the stairs, "Nothing…".

Her mother just watched her go with a worried frown on her lips.

Closing the door to her room, she took a deep breath resting against it. Try as she might, she couldn't understand why someone had an interest in her, of all people, and to go to such lengths to grab her attention.

I have to call Ringo! She decided before grasping her phone and tapping on it. A soft curse escaped her lips as she looked at the time, realizing that it would be at least one hour and a half before her best friend was finished with Kendo practice.

Bracing against the door, she looked down at her hand, realizing the letter was still in her grasp. Slowly, almost mechanically, she reached inside and surely an identical USB stick lay in her hand.

Eying it for a moment, her vacant gaze went to her computer. Every inch of common sense was telling her not to, but a small part- a small morbid part of her was curious about what was in it.

She couldn't help but shudder as she thought about the content. Maybe it was filled with pictures of her, or maybe, like some stories she had read, it would be filled with mutilated bodies. Kiyoko even considered it being full of spy-wares or something among those lines.

This is a really stupid idea… She concluded, yet her feet seemed to have a will of their own as she approached her pc. Biting her lip, she came to her decision and reached behind it, pulling off the Internet cable.

"At least like this, it should be a little safer… I hope." She murmured to herself, as she booted the computer and connected the USB stick.

If there is anything weird in here, I have to tell mom about it. I should probably tell her anyway either way… She thought to herself, as she watch the anti-virus run its course. Telling her parents would probably end up with her liberties becoming very limited, but if there was some crazy guy after her, she had to protect herself.

After all, Lord knows what he wants with me. She eyed the USB stick icon for a few moments, taking a few breaths before clicking on it.

"Huh?" she exclaimed as she looked at the contents, which were composed of a single file, "The Records of the Four Holy Weapons? The heck is this?"

Opening the file, text filled her screen as she began to skim through it. Soon enough her shoulders began to shake, and an ugly snort came out of her mouth. The girl knew she shouldn't be laughing at such a situation but couldn't help it. Someone had stalked her to give her a USB stick containing a fantasy Isekai type of light novel of all things.

"Hahaha what the hell is up with this?" She laughed, shaking her head before continuing to read through it, as once more curiosity got the better of her. The story, she couldn't help but notice, seemed to portray four heroes as they tried to stop some kind of extinction-level event called the waves. Each wielding some kind of legendary weapon.

"Though can you even call a shield a weapon..?" she wondered out loud with a smile, before shaking her head, "… and what's up with these heroes? You can't get any more cliché than this. The Spear Hero who is super loyal to his friends? That's a staple for the main character if I ever saw one, and the Bow Hero who values justice above all else? That sounds like superhero material, for sure."

She continued to read through even as her eyelids fell strangely heavy, but even then she released another laugh as she read the next paragraph, "… is determined to carry forwards even as he is spitting blood?" She pondered in disbelief, shaking her head trying to get rid of her sudden bout of sleepiness. "The Shield Hero sounds hardcore! Though by this description, I wouldn't want to be in his shoes."

Continuing scrolling down, she came to the part that interested her the most, "Found it! The Sword Hero! Nothing screams main character as much as a Hero with a holy sword! No, let's see here… Huh?" she exclaimed, realizing that the following pages were blank with no text. Annoyed, she continued to scroll down until a wave of dizziness hit her, the screen swimming in her vision and before she realized what was happening, everything turned dark as consciousness faded.

Above Kiyoko's sleeping body, a round shining ball of pale blue light appeared, and even though it had no eyes or face, it was surely observing the unconscious girl.

Can't believe that I had to follow that stupid spirit method to get her to read that… And she even missed it the first ten times. How can a human be this air-headed?! The ball complained to no one, as a golden glyph appeared above the sleeping girl, and light enveloped her body, growing in intensity every second. A moment later, there was a bright flash as the strange symbol hovering in the air broke apart, revealing nothing but an empty chair.

… Well she is a little different from usual, and has a few flaws, but at least she does have a lot of Heroic potential. Let's just hope she actually lasts long enough to grow into it. Maybe the fact that she is the first girl I ever summoned will bring us good fortune and I will be able to brag for once. World knows they always seemed to die a few weeks after being summoned! The orb complained once more before vanishing from reality.

An instant later, a woman opened the door with a frown on her face as she took in her surroundings, confusion taking over, "Did we always have a room like this..?" She questioned as she looked around, then her hand flew to her chest, grasping at it.

"What is this feeling..?" the woman asked herself, as tears began falling from her face, and even though she didn't know the reason, she felt like she had just lost something irreplaceable.

As conscience began to return, she opened her eyes trying to take in her surroundings, but almost immediately pain flared from her nose.

"Ouch!" She winced as she gripped the offending part before blinking as she took note of the stone floor under her. Raising her eyes, they immediately widened as they took the glowing glyph shining on the ground in front of her.

"What's all of this?" A voice that most certainly wasn't hers came from her side, and she turned her head to see a tall, and Blond young man observing his surroundings with what looked like a spear in his grip.

How the hell didn't I see him?! She wondered, as she slowly raised herself from the ground, yet at that moment, as one of her hands went to the ground to support her, she realized she had something in her grasp.

A sword? The weapon in her grip seemed something straight out of an anime. The handle was pure white with a golden metallic outline. A blue gem served as the boundary between the handle and the dark, glossy blade with a silvery almost white edge, hugging it.

The first thing that went through her mind was that it was a toy replica with how light it was, however, the sharpness apparent on the edge seemed to say otherwise. Raising herself off the ground, she gripped the weapon tightly as it offered some measure of reassurance, and she needed every bit of it taking into consideration the unknown situation she found herself.

"Ohhh, great heroes!" a figure exclaimed loudly, his voice rebounding off the walls of the chamber. "Please save our world!"

"What?" Her voice had been dwarfed by another closer to her, and she turned to look sideways at another couple of people. They both seemed younger than the other, or perhaps that was due to his height.

That's twice?! Her situational awareness hadn't always been the best, but the blond young man was standing just a couple of feet from her, and she had completely missed him, not even counting on the other black-haired young man next to him.

"Please hear our plight, heroes! Our situation is complicated, but we just conducted a very ancient ritual to summon you." The man in the front, the one that had spoken before, explained.

"Summoned? As in Isekai?!" she almost cried out, before her hand flew to her mouth. However, the damage had been done as all present turned towards her.

"I-se-kai..?" The robed man, that almost seemed like a priest from an occult cult, repeated slowly with a confused look on his face, his pronunciation atrocious.

"Indeed, that does seem to be the case." The blond teen next to her answered, offering her a nod.

That's nuts! There was no way such a thing could actually be true. After all, it sounded like the starting plot of a crappy Isekai adventure. The ones where the main character learned everything in record time and quickly became the most overpowered being in the world.

With bonus points if he gets a harem… She almost laughed out loud, but immediately she felt like slapping herself.

What the hell am I thinking in this situation?!

"Our world lies on the brink of destruction! Please, noble heroes, lend us your strength!" The man pleaded as he bowed at the waist.

"Well, it wouldn't hurt to hear you…" The young black-haired man wielding a shield began, but was quickly cut off by the other two.

"I don't think so." The smallest blond interjected with a small, almost secretive smile on his face.

"We can go back to our world, right? We can talk about your problems after that." The tallest one added with a grin as he rested his spear against his shoulder.

His words brought something to the forefront of Kiyoko's mind. She didn't know the specifics, but she didn't care either way.

"They're right! I don't care what kind of situation you have on your hands. I have a family that I want to get back to!" Kiyoko said as she gripped her weapon tightly.

Yet again she found herself being the center of attention as everyone turned to look at her with different emotions in their expressions, ranging from understanding, mostly from the ones around her minus for the black-haired young man who only seemed confused, to hesitation and apprehension from the robbed figures.

"The little lady is right!" The one with the spear continued, sending her a wide smile. "You guys are just trying to set the pace without considering our opinion. We need reassurance, or we might just end up turning into your enemies."

"Indeed! Besides, after everything is done, you will just send us back! That just sounds like we might have other options." The one with the bow added with a small glare, and yet the small tug of his lips was still present.

It took her a moment to understand what the others were trying to do. They were the ones that were trying to set the stage for negotiations to happen. That was why there seemed some kind of silent agreement between them, and that had been why they had smiled at her. She had played along without realizing.

Doesn't matter! As long as I can get back home. With a frown on her face, she gave a step forward, so she was lining up with the others who seemed to be in a similar situation as her. Seconds in silence passed as the atmosphere grew tenser and the air colder.

The people around the speaker looked at each other nervously, as if unsure of how to proceed.

The robed man at the front coughed lightly in his fist, and even in the dim light, sweat could be seen running down his face. "Please heroes, at the very least come met with our king. He will be able to explain everything." The man said as he waved his hand behind him. A few of the other robed figures hurried towards a heavy-looking wooden door, the only one in the chamber, and pushed against it. Slowly, it opened with a heavy whine.

"Fine." The young smallest blond allowed with a huff.

"Talking with the king won't change our stance, but fine." The taller one responded, but moved towards the door.

Kiyoko's eyes went to the side as the bow-wielding teen went to follow, leaving only her and the other black-haired teen, who met her gaze for a moment before he too moved to follow.

"Wait for me," she exclaimed, as she hurried after them, not wanting to be left alone in the dark room, especially not with a bunch of sketchy old men.

Her voice echoed just enough for one of her companions to turn to her, his eyes widening a fraction, "Oh sorry!" He said, slowing down just enough for her to catch up, as he rubbed the back of his head with a small embarrassed smile. "I'm Iwatani Naofumi." He introduced himself.

Peering at him under her bangs, she offered a small nod, "Nozomi Kiyoko.".

"A pleasure Kiyoko." He replied as he matched pace with her, "You guys seem like you have it all figured out huh…"

She blinked at the statement, wondering if it really seemed that way, before offering a shrug. "Not really. I just want to get back to my family."

"Ahhh… You do seem pretty young…" He stated as he observed her figure.

She almost released a sigh, having a pretty good idea of what he was thinking. Unfortunately, she had lost count of how many people mistook her for a middle schooler, with her small stature and almost non-existent figure.

"I'm seventeen." She offered as her eyes moved to take in the dimmed lighted hallway, though she could feel a small breeze coming through.

"Seriously?" He asked in surprise, though his head moved to the side when she threw him an annoying side glance.

"Yeah, though I get that a lot…" she added in a murmur.

As they walked, light began to fill the hallway, as the scent of fresh air filled the passageway. Soon a window came into view, and both hurried their pace to get a glimpse of what lay outside.

"Wow…" The Shield Hero breathed out as he took in the scenery.

His smaller partner hardly heard him, however, as her eyes widened, mouth dropping open as her brain stopped working for a moment.

No way…

Sunbathed her face as she took in the picture before her. Clouds stretched along the skies as far as the eye could see, some almost touching the mountains in the distance. Below her, a town spread out from the building they were in, the architecture resembling some pictures she had seen of some old European villages. There was, however distinct lack of electric poles, and even in the oldest and most remote of villages there should have been a couple of cars, but here there was no such thing that she could see.

"It really is another world." Her companion marveled as he leaned on the window by her side.

Some part of her refused to believe it. However, she had no answer that would explain her current situation any better. The otaku in her, however, rose to the surface for a moment, and she found herself smiling as a fresh breeze caressed her face, all worries seemingly vanishing for the moment.
