Long ago, in a time long forgotten, there existed three figures, now considered important in legend: the Goddess of Light, the King of Darkness, and the Goddess' Chosen Hero. The Goddess of Light was a benevolent force, serving as the protector of humanity on the Three Golden Goddesses' behalf, while the King of Darkness was violent and destructive, outright cynical towards the world. The King of the Dark was jealous of the Golden Goddesses clear favoritism of the Goddess of Light, and thus, attempted to use their own creation, The Triforce, against them. After reforming himself as a god and creating several monsters to serve as his followers, he revolted.
When the Triforce had Split, a young man, a warrior and devout follower of the Goddess, had been gifted with the Triforce of Courage, and alongside several other warriors, sought to fight against the former king and now God of the Darkness. Once blessed with the Holy Sword of the Goddess of Light, rather specifically named the "Goddess Sword," he attempted to face off with the God of the Darkness. While he was victorious, and the Goddess of Light having sealed the Evil God away, the Brave Warrior wielding the Triforce of Courage had fallen. With the battle finally at its end, the Goddess had lifted her followers into the sky and blessed the Warrior's soul to be reincarnated and pleaded to the Golden Goddesses to be reborn in a mortal body so that she could use one piece of the Triforce should anyone choose to use it for evil intent. And with that, started the cycle of the Warrior, the Princess, and the Demon King.
*CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!*
The Master Sword and the Trident of Demise had clashed with each other continuously, as the Blood Red Sky, now under the control of Ganon, had struck lightning at the warrior clad in green, Link.
"Don't think that your dirty magic tricks will knock me down, Ganon!" Link had shouted at the Demon King, who had been laughing at the warrior.
"Foolish Boy! You think that you won't succumb to the might of the Triforce of Power?!" Ganon had asked, rather overconfident, "Unfortunately, you're wrong. Through the might of Din, I will strike you down where you sta-AUGHHHH!" Ganon was interrupted in his monologue, being hit by a glowing arrow sent from the Princess herself.
"You talk too much," Zelda, now in her (unhooded) Sheikah garb, had told the Demon King as she held the Bow of Light, aiming it at Ganon. She continued to fire the Light Arrows as Link had cheered for her.
"Alright, Zelda!" The Hero had jumped up and down, waving his arms, and getting distracted, leaving him open to an attack from Ganon. As the Pig-Man had spun his trident in front of his body, blocking the Light Arrows, he switched to one arm and used his free hand to shoot a fireball at Link.
"Uh oh!" The Hero had pulled out his Hylian Shield and knocked away the Fireball, and rushed towards the Demon King, the glowing Master Sword in hand. "TAKE THIS!" He slashed at the side of Ganon, and just as the King of Evil was about to knock him away, a well-timed shot in the Demon King's head had knocked him down.
Ganon had screamed in pain, as his head faced the sky. Strangely, in contrast to the Red Sky, a bright light had been seen above. It had gotten closer and closer.
"Now, Link!"
"Right!"
The two friends had leapt towards Ganon, as the light had been directly above the three wielders of the Triforce.
"Heh. Fools!" Ganon had said as the three were struck with the light, and then vanished.
"HYAAAAaaaah … Huh?" Link had looked around, finding himself in a small room between Zelda, now in her more casual clothes, and Ganon, much rather Ganondorf as he was known in his Gerudo Form.
"What just happened?" Zelda had asked.
"Where in Din's name are we?!" Ganondorf had followed.
"It worked! The summoning was a success!" A man dressed in a robe had exclaimed. "Brave Heroes of Legend! Won't you please help save our world?!"
"WHAT?!" Four voices, rather than the expected three, had shouted in shock. The three Hylian Residents stared at the weapons in their hands, expecting the weapons that they had wielded before. But were met with something different.
"What the hell is this thing?!" Ganon had shouted.
Triforce Heroes Chapter 1
A Warrior, Princess, and Demon King
"The hell did you do to my damn trident, you pieces of Cucco Feces!" Ganondorf had shouted at the men in the robes, eyes red with rage. "I ought to kill you where you stand for interrupting my battle, you-!"
"Ganon! Calm yourself!" Zelda had told the Gerudo King, who turned around as he snarled.
"Don't command me like I'm your dog, Zelda! I want to know why these fools stole us away from our battlefield!"
"I do too, Ganon, but there is no need to act so hostile towards these strange men," Zelda had told the Demon King.
"Yeah, chill out, Ganon," Link had said, standing beside Zelda, "Besides, I'm kinda interested in this whole 'Brave Heroes' thing."
"Yeah, me too." The three Triforce wielders perked up, hearing the fourth voice. It had come from a young man with black hair and dark green eyes, around the same height as Zelda and Link.
" … Who the hell are you?" Ganondorf had asked, not noticing the Shield on his left arm.
"Umm, Brave Heroes? Would you please listen here?" the robed man had asked as the Four "Heroes" began to face him. "We would like for you to meet our King. Hopefully he can offer up an explanation as to why you were summoned to our kingdom."
"So, this is a Kingdom?" Ganondorf had asked, "Well, he'd better have a damn good explanation before I blast his Din Forsaken Ass into next week."
"Ganon …" Zelda had glanced at the Demon KIng.
"Tch. Fine. I'll 'calm down.' But he'd best beware the wrath of the Triforce of Power," the Demon King had walked through the doorway behind the men in the robes.
"Guess there's no reasoning with him," Link had said to the princess.
"Mm …" was Zelda's only response as the two Hylians had followed behind the Demon King.
"These guys … are really weird," were the black haired young man's only words as he went along with his fellow heroes.
Finally reaching the throne room, Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, and the unnamed young man had come face to face with the King of Melromarc, who sat on his throne, secretly ecstatic at seeing the newly-summoned heroes.
"Ah, so these are the four Cardinal Heroes? Welcome to you all," the King had greeted the four. "My name is -"
"Save your breath. I don't care for your name. I only want for your intent to be known," Ganondorf had said, being met with faces of shock from the surrounded nobles.
Oh great, both Link and Zelda had mentally facepalmed.
"How dare you speak like that towards the gracious King Aultcray Melromarc?!" the advisor standing next to the King's throne had said, being offended on the king's behalf.
"Oh, really? Well, if you didn't know, you're speaking to another king. The Gerudo Demon King in fact. So how about you shut your short ass up and let the higher-ups talk."
"Ganon!" Zelda had shouted at the Demon King, her tone telling the Demon King to shut up.
"FINE!" Ganondorf had responded to the Hylian Princess.
"Apologies, Your Highness," Zelda had told Aultcray, "My 'friend' is a very … arrogant man."
"It is fine, Lady Bow Hero. I suppose it must've been rather sudden for you to be summoned here," Aultcray had sympathized with their situation. "In fact, I'd like to hear of your names, so that our kingdom can give you all a proper title."
"Well then, I suppose I'll go first," Zelda had started, "Princess Zelda of the Kingdom of Hyrule. 17 years old."
"I'm next! I'm Link, the Warrior Who Wields the Blade of Evil's Bane. 17 years as well."
"I'll go now. Ganondorf Dragmire and you should already know my title. 39 years old."
"Well, I'm last. The name's -" the unnamed young man was interrupted by the King, who remarked at the first three heroes' names.
"So, Zelda, Link, and Ganondorf, eh?" Aultcray had repeated their names, completely ignoring the last hero.
"Um, King Aultcray? I think you're forgetting someone," the princess had told the king as she referred to the young man.
"Ah, yes. Your name, Shield Hero?"
"Naofumi Iwatani. I'm a College Student. 20 years old."
The king had quickly acknowledged the young man's name, if you could even say that he did, and began to speak.
"Well then, now that introductions are out of the way, I suppose that it's time that I told you all our reasons for summoning you."
Aultcray then went on to explain the kingdom's current situation. Apparently, Melromarc was under the threat of the event known as the Waves of Calamity, where monsters appeared through portals in the sky. The first one had devastated their Knight Forces, and they could only imagine what the second one would do. Thankfully, there was such a thing as the Dragon Hourglass, which could foretell when the Waves would arrive. And until that time came, the heroes of Bow, Sword, Spear, and Shield would have to train themselves and their weapons to fight against the waves.
"Did you get all that? It would be a pain to have to repeat it," Aultcray had asked the four Heroes.
"We understood clearly, 'Your Highness,'" Ganon had said to the King.
"Well then, I'll let my High Priest take it from here," the King had said before snapping his fingers, signaling the High Priest to come and help the heroes.
"As the King told you all, you have to strengthen your Legendary Weapons by the time that the Waves arrive, which means that you must learn about Status Magic," The High Priest had told the Four Heroes.
"What's that?" Both Link and Naofumi had asked.
"You seriously haven't noticed yet, Hero?" Ganon had asked, referring to Link. "While the King was giving his hour-long explanation, I had already opened mine."
"You should find it in the bottom-right hand corner, you two," Zelda had told the confused heroes.
With help from the princess the two were able to open their status menu, and they were able to see their Level, Equipment, Class, and Element Affinities. When they found out that they were able to change their weapons, they quickly switched to their signature ones. Zelda the Bow of Light, Link the Master Sword, and Ganon the Trident of Demise.
"Well it seems that you three seem to have your Status Magic under control," Aultcray said to the Triforce Wielders, completely ignoring Naofumi, "Given how late it is, I shall prepare rooms as well as food for you all. Go and rest, for tomorrow is when your journeys will start.
After being led into a room by one of the King's maids, stomachs full of food, the Heroes took their seats at a table, with the exception of Ganon.
"Sooooo … Who are you guys … Really?" Naofumi had asked the three Hylian Heroes. "All I know is that guy's angry," He pointed at Ganon, "You're the only reasonable one," he pointed at Zelda, "And him … I don't know much about him," he pointed at Link.
"Oh, us?" Link had asked the Shield Hero, "We're reincarnations of ancient figures of history. I'm the Spirit of the Hero, Zelda's got the blood of Goddess Hylia, and Ganon is the spawn of the hatred of Demise."
"Wow. How about you go ahead and tell him all of our origins," Ganon had said sarcastically.
"What Ganon is trying to say is that some questions are better left unanswered, Sir Naofumi," Zelda had said much kinder than the Demon King, "Perhaps we shall provide more answers in due time."
"Oh, so reincarnation is a thing. That's cool … I guess," Naofumi had said, confused by what Link had told him. "Y'know I'm gonna go get some rest. Can't wait to get out on the field tomorrow."
"Ditto! It's gonna be fun out there, just like when I was a kid. Fighting monsters and stuff!" Link had said in a childlike manner.
"We'll still have to be cautious, Link. After all, we're still only Level One," Zelda had advised the Spirit of the Hero.
"Tch. Anything to get away from you fools," Ganon had told his three fellow heroes. "I'm heading to sleep."
"Guess we should hit the deck as well, eh, Zelda?" Link had asked the princess.
"Indeed, Link," Zelda had responded.
With that, the Four Heroes headed to their own separate rooms so they could head to sleep, awaiting the next day to come.
A/N: "Yay! Another TLoZ x RotSH Story written by yours truly! Hopefully this can't go wrong!" The author said sarcastically. Anyways I want to get some things off my chest. I wasn't exactly fond of the last two X-Over stories that I wrote, so here's this one. Hopefully this one doesn't go badly. Also, just to get it out of the way, the main elemental affinities for the Hyrule Warriors are listed below.
Link: Wind, Lightning
Zelda: Water, Ice
Ganon: Fire, Earth
Also also, I'll be referring to Ganondorf in both forms as Ganon in this story, so I'll try to offer some distinction between his Gerudo and Beast forms if possible. With that, I'll see you guys next chapter!
