AN: This is a reboot of a prior fanfic I attempted to write and unfortunately had to discontinue due to flaming. Part 1# will cover Sesshomaru & Rin in Season 2 of the Inuyasha Anime Series. Part 2# will cover Sesshomaru & Rin in Season 3 and so on and so forth. Obviously, we won't be covering Season 1 as Rin isn't present in that Season. I'm also going to link some art that inspired me and the songs that I was listening to when writing each part. Why? Because in the early 2000s when fanfiction writing was popular online, that was something we did. Anyways without further delay, please enjoy, subscribe/follow and comment/review, it really keeps me going.
Disclaimer: If you do not like the prospect of a fanfiction writer creating a plot or story that does not agree with you or deviates from the source material please do not read it. This is supposed to be a fun and creative community. I can't imagine leaving derogatory reviews on someone else's work, what is wrong with people?!

Sesshomaru had been mortally wounded. His brother had nearly cut him down completely and by the power of Tenseiga alone he was saved. Sesshomaru's loyal weapon had allowed him to focus his energy enough to teleport to safety. Unfortunately, the Tenseiga did not afford him much help navigation wise, so he had collapsed, half dead in a distant forest, far from his loyal vassal, Jaken and his Two Headed Dragon Companion.
He was in and out of consciousness for several days, semi-lucid, with each noise he heard he would lunge forward prepared to fight, like an animal. His dazed state hindered his superior senses as nearly each noise he would have sworn he heard proved to be nothing more than a loud cricket, or a passing bird. At one point, he was able to finally drift off into sleep, when another noise awoke him. This time though, he did better for himself and did not lunge forward immediately, instead he allowed himself to come fully lucid, even if it was fleeting to analyze his surroundings.
A small girl, no more than 6 or 7 peered through the nearby tall grass at him. Instinctively he hissed and snarled at her, his inner demon glaring through, his eyes glazed red. She took a step back startled, but scanning him she saw the extent of his injuries and made a small nod in acknowledgement. She stepped through the gross, closer to him than before.
Sesshomaru, still lucid, realized a small filthy girl child was of no threat to him even in this state he relaxed against the tree, and his inner demon receded.
"Go Away" he uttered, staring off now. She made a few steps around the small clearing he lay in of shorter, flatter grass and back into the tall grass of the forest out of sight but not smell for Lord Sesshomaru.
A few hours later she returned, with a bamboo canteen of water, she very quickly left it within arms reach of him and scampered away. He lay against the tree confused.
About an hour after that she returned once again with a small portion of food.
"Mind your own business girl, your generosity is wasted, I don't eat human food" he snapped.
A sigh and a look of defeat washed over the girl's face. But she persisted.
Returning hours later in the early hours of the morning, she carried with her an even smaller portion of food. But this time she was covered in bruises.
Before she could even serve him his food, he began;
"No Thanks"
She fell to her knees after a few steps closer, closer than ever before.
"I told you I don't need anything from you".
She was defeated once more.
"Where did you get those bruises?"
She suddenly perked up, not having anyone care to ask her something like that in so long took her off guard.
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to," he continued.
But it was too late, her smile shined through her beaten face.
"What are you smiling about!?" Sesshomaru was taken back "I simply asked a question, I don't care I'm just curious"
But there was no backtracking for her, she was elated. The mute girl did leave him to rest, but this time she left with a skip in her step and lingered closer to his resting site. She picked flowers and hummed songs before making her way back to her hut.
When Sesshomaru gathered his strength shortly after his last meeting with the mute and apparently "deaf" girl, he made his way to his servant Jaken waiting for him in the clearing of the meadow outside the forest. Frankly, he didn't care how Jaken tracked him, all he knew was that Jaken and his Dragon companion had arrived, he could smell them both from where he'd been lying the past few days.
"Oh My Lord! You've Returned, I was so worried about you!" Jaken exclaimed, leading their Dragon Demon by the reins to him.
"Jaken-"Sesshomaru started walking towards the two, when he was abruptly taken off guard by the scent of blood, "-Blood…"
"...What?" Jaken inquired, very confused. He had finally located his Master after days of tracking him and just as soon as he was finally about to rejoin him, a look of deep contemplation washed over his face and he turned back into the forest.
Jaken followed after him quickly, just as he caught up to him, he was taken over by the smell of wolves and mortal blood. Lying on the ground in front of both Sesshomaru & Jaken was the frail girl that had come to Lord Sesshomaru's aide.
"What is that? Oh… She's a goner…Must have been attacked by wolves. She's been bitten to death. Lord Sesshomaru, do you know this human?" Jaken rambled on.
Sesshomaru couldn't help but feel a tinge of sadness for her, she seemed dim but kind. It was then as he looked down on her, paying his respects in a sense, that the throbbing of Tenseiga took him over. He drew his weapon and above the horizon of his sword he saw the demons of the netherworld come to collect the child's soul.
"Perhaps Another Test…" Sesshomaru muttered aloud and with that he struck down the netherworld demons with a mighty swipe of his weapon. He kneeled down to the child's body, and raised her head to inspect her for signs of life.
"She's come back to life! Lord Sesshomaru…did you save that girl with the Tenseiga?!" Jaken exclaimed.
The two looked on at each other, her into his eyes, Sesshomaru into hers. She sat up straight and he stood and began to walk off. She then rose to her own feet.
Jaken stood beside the girl, in shock over what had just occurred.
"L-Lord… Sesshomaru… Lord Sesshomaru saved a human… I'm almost in shock… But didn't he just say that he was testing it? T-then… Did you really test that sword on me?! …Lord Sesshomaru! I am so sad! I am so sad! So sad is Jaken! Lord Sesshomaru! You are so cruel! ….Huh? …Lord Sesshomaru, please wait!" Jaken rambled on as he realized his Lordship was now far ahead of him with the mortal child in tow.
Sesshomaru marched on, he knew the child was following after him, that didn't bother him nearly as much as his vassal's whining did.
When he had held her lifeless form in his arms at the clearing of the forest path he could feel her heart begin to pump warm blood back through her veins. As her eyes blinked open he gasped. Gasping not because he was startled by her revival. Her revival was ensured by the power of his sword. No, it was that at that moment time stood still. Her huge eyes stared into his and for the first time in his life he'd felt something he'd never felt before. It was the first time in his life that he'd even noticed his own heart beating in his own chest. He was trapped in her gaze. This small, dirty child had somehow captured his heart in him reviving her.
Sesshomaru paused in the forest clearing, he could feel her, feeling him. He became hyper-aware of her ability to sense the nature of his thoughts. Before she telepathically interrupted him, he had been submerged in the thoughts of Tenseiga's power over him, his Fathers sword had compelled him to save a human. A cruel trick his late Father was playing on him, no doubt. Binding him to a Mortal Girl Child. Though all these thoughts were heavy in his head, he could not ignore the sensation of an uninvited voyeur in his mind. There were no words to converse back and forth, no voice, almost…just like.. The vibrations after words are spoken…and the comprehension that comes with it. He turned to look down at her, without words:
"What is your name, girl?" he inquired
"My Name is Rin" the voiceless voyeur responded "How are we doing this?"
Sesshomaru did not respond, not wordlessly and not with words.
"You must refrain from getting in the way" he stated aloud, "You must care for your own needs if you are to join me, do you understand?"
"Yes, M'Lord" Rin spoke words for the first time, her reborn voice rang in Sesshomaru's ears, no matter what happens from here on out, this voice will be forever stained in him.
She knew she was safe and would always be with Lord Sesshomaru. Her very young soul and mortal mind were not yet privy to or capable of understanding exactly how this was. The concept of hearts and souls being tied together, the power she now had over one of the strongest beings to walk the earth, or her newfound telepathic connection with him were all unknowns to her at this time. All that mattered was what they shared in their hearts now.
Several days went by, with no issue. Lord Sesshomaru and Jaken traveled long hours during the day. For a flight capable being, her Lord certainly did love to walk. She never could quite understand why between his powers and A-Un's wings, the name she gave the two headed dragon demon, they rarely flew. But what did she know? She was just happy to not be lonely anymore.
Sesshomaru stopped, A-Un halted behind him.
"Why have we stopped, My Lord?" Jaken inquired.
Sesshomaru did not respond, he didn't even turn to the Kappa Demon. The thing was that after so many years of traveling together, the two had developed a strong bond. Not in the way, Sesshomaru and Rin had after just a few weeks. In a different, more brotherly way, but still not in the way Jaken would have most likely have preferred. And certainly not in the way that Sesshomaru desired at all. Yet, Jaken understood Lord Sesshomaru better than most. Better than anyone, until recently. Words and Gestures were not needed for Jaken to understand momentarily what was occurring.
Rin dismounted the two headed dragon and ran off into the tall grass. She had to relieve herself.
Jaken couldn't quite place his finger yet on how Lord Sesshomaru knew that Rin had to be excused. Was he psychic? Was his sense of smell that powerful?
"All done!" Rin yipped, climbing back onto A-Un, the name she had given the two headed dragon demon.
"You reek, Child!" Jaken yelled at her.
Rin was not used to bathing or washing regularly. She had no understanding of cleanliness or hygiene.
"There is a spring ahead, you may bathe there Rin" Sesshomaru stated. He felt before in her mind an increasing in urgency, from that sensation alone he couldn't tell it was her explicit need to relieve herself, but after the fact he was pretty sure he had picked up on her anxiety to ask to stop and run off. Just as well, after Jakens comments he could feel a tinge of humiliation and pain from her.
"A Hot Spring?" Rin asked with a smile. He nodded and faced the direction of it, it was truly fragrant the steam of the waters just beyond the many trees. Rin jumped down from A-Un and ran off toward the waters.
Lord Sesshomaru struck Jaken fiercely for the pain she felt over his comment that in-turn he had to endure. The insolence.
"My Lord, What was that for?!" he cried.
"Take A-Un and find her clean clothing" his Lord commanded in a soft monotone.
After that strike, Jaken would not question him further, he mounted A-Un and flew off.
Sesshomaru walked toward the waters where Rin had gone. He was able to hear Rin enter the water, and knew he could approach the waters without infringing on the young girl's modesty. The water and steam covered her well enough. Typically Sesshomaru would rely on his supreme sense of smell to watch over Rin but the steam had washed away the slightly repugnant scent of the child he had become used to. He was interested to see what her true scent was when properly bathed. It was in truth not the worst scent Sesshomaru had ever encountered, not by a long shot. The odor which seemed to be sourced primarily to her tattered dress and sticky hair reeked of dirt, decaying plants, dust and cleaned fish. Rin slept on a dirt floor amongst the low growing plants and insects before joining them, she caught and cleaned her own meals. A hint of respect for her perseverance trickled up from Sesshomaru's heart into a slight smile as he thought of her.
"Come Along Rin, we must be going" he ordered her out of the water.
"Coming!" she cheered, just as she swam to the edge to grab her old clothes to put on, Jaken touched down with A-Un. A small orange and yellow checkered dress in tow.
"Rin! Don't you dare put that thing back on!" Jaken barked, rushing up to where the ground and waters met to kick her clothing back into the water. He slammed her new kimono down onto a small rock and marched off to meet Lord Sesshomaru.
She stepped out of the water, and dried her hair the best she could with her hands and strength. Her mother once used a comb to put her hair back after bathing, now all she had was a small swatch of fabric not even big enough to tie her hair back completely. She adorned herself in her new kimono and grabbed just enough hair that it was out of her eyes and ran towards Sesshomaru and Jaken on the other side of the trees with a huge toothy smile.
"I love it, Thank you Master Jaken!" she twirled.
"Let's go!" Jaken hissed and they were off.
The weeks flew by, Lord Sesshomaru patrolled the Western Lands quite dutifully and for a short period of time had seemed more content than Jaken had observed in a long time. Any time they approached a hot spring or one of the nicer bodies of water in the Western Lands, Sesshomaru would make sure to allow Rin time to bathe, usually resulting in them making camp that same evening, which allowed Sesshomaru to bathe as well. When the sense of urgency came over him, he knew Rin most likely needed to relieve herself, something Demon kind didn't usually require, and would utilize this time to scan the area, and allow A-Un to graze. Food & Water wise, Rin was very self sufficient, she carried the same bamboo canteen she tried to nurse Sesshomaru back to health with previously, with her at all times and would get water any time she could which was usually at least once a day, every other at most. When she was not riding A-Un she would look around the path the party was walking on for all sorts of food, berries, mushrooms, other vegetation. The nights they made camp by the lakes and ponds that had fish she would catch herself, and usually Jaken dinner. This time was peaceful by all accounts.
The party of three were walking on one the paths in the western lands when Rin rushed up behind Jaken, passing him quickly. For a 9 year old she was quite fast.
"I beat you Master Jaken!" She cheered.
"We weren't in a race," Jaken groaned.
She pointed out the decapitated head of a lesser demon laying before them. When Sesshomaru came up to where they'd stopped. He could smell his brother and the scent of Naraku on the remains. Rin was petrified of the demon head and let a shrill cry. Followed by more shrill screams.
"Rin! Enough of that! Silence" Sesshomaru commanded aloud to her.
"Yes my Lord!" She retorted.
She felt her Lord's heavy thoughts, but could not make sense of them.
Setting up camp a few miles from where the head of the lesser demon was found.
"Rin, you will stay here and wait for my return, where we are going is too dangerous and you will only get in the way, do you understand?" Sesshomaru told Rin.
"Yes, M'Lord!" She chimed with a smile.
"Thats right, you will only get in the way!" Jake snarled with his nose up in the air, following closely behind Lord Sesshomaru.
"Master Jaken, where are you both going?" She asked.
"KaiJinbo…" Sesshomaru muttered, kicking the kappa demon for the tone he took with Rin. She was after all a child, with human feelings, a human child with feelings that could be hurt easily, just with a certain tone of voice. As a Great Demon, Sesshomaru had no desire to feel the emotional out lash a young mortal child would internalize and he wasn't going to deal with Jaken indirectly putting him through that. The two departed.
She laid down in the grass, the fire flickering, and relaxed. She was at last no longer lonely. She took this alone time to relieve herself, bathe, and catch some fish. She even dried and cured some of the fish she caught and mushrooms she foraged for later travels. "Sesshomaru will be pleased when we don't need to make any extra stops on my accord, '' she thought aloud, proud of her preparedness. Alas, this time to herself felt different than when she had alone time before Sesshomaru, Jaken and A-Un came into her life. Part of that was the fact that she didn't feel truly alone even when they were off on strictly adult male demon business but the other part of her felt strangely tethered in some way to her Lord specifically. He never really clarified what this sort of bond was they both were aware of between them. Rin didn't mind.
Sesshomaru was older than her, he looked younger than her father did when he was alive, but definitely older than her brothers, at least what she could remember of them all. She pondered his age because if she was being honest she had started to develop a little crush on him. She couldn't remember all the details of how it worked but she knew that young girls often married older men in her village, but how much of an age gap she couldn't be sure of? Little did she know that Sesshomaru was several hundred years old. With those thoughts, Rin drifted off to sleep, comforted by the faith that her Lord was just a whistle away should danger find her.
Morning came and the hum of the earth alerted her to the approaching of A-Un, Master Jaken and her Lord.
She jumped and cheered with joy and lept towards them.
"RIN, STOP, DO NOT MOVE!" Sesshomaru commanded. She froze.
With his talons Lord Sesshomaru lunged up and forward, cutting down several trees in the process. A woman somersaulted forward.
Rin had never seen her Lord interact with a woman before and was interested immediately but did not want to disobey his orders. She remained frozen outside of their peripheral vision listening intently to their conversation.
"You must be Inuyasha's older brother, Sesshomaru, you're very clever" the woman spoke, "My name is Kagura, the wind sorceress, an incarnation of Naraku"
It was about then that Rins thought train derailed, she was no longer listening to their correspondence.
Her Lord was much more than clever...he was kind, compassionate, dashing, brave, handsome, she could go on. But above all he was warm...maybe not in a way other's could perceive but in a way only she understood. In the evenings, Sesshomaru didn't sleep, a full demon such as him really didn't sleep in the way a human like her did. He more or less entered into a meditative state that allowed him to rest. In that time, which wasn't even every night but every few days, she would wander from the nearest tree she was using to sleep, or A-Uns warmth, whichever was more convenient that evening, to Mokomoko. She held Sesshomaru's lower half and laid on the earth beside him, Mokomoko wrapped around her. It was serene.
"Rin, you're free to move now" her Lord commanded, waking her from her daydreams.
She felt him smile. He would never say it but his childish charms did bring him a sense of joy he had not felt since he was a child, maybe ever. But their reunion was short-lived.
"Rin, you must wait here a while longer…" her Lord stated plainly.
"I understand, My Lord," she nodded smiling, but with a tinge of mellon collie.
"Let's go Jaken, we have a sword to find" he sighed, and mounted A-Un, departing from Rin again.
"Well at least they came back to check on me!" she exclaimed to herself in reassurement. Rin had already completed what some might call her "chores" yesterday, how is she supposed to spend today? She had an idea! In the not too far distance, away from her campsite were flower fields. Tons and tons of wildflowers as far as she could see. It was then that she decided she would fashion her beloved Lord a Crown of Flowers. Rin began to skip toward the flowers. Beyond the Wildflowers were Rice Paddies, unattended for some reason, while making herself, Jaken and her beloved Lord a Crown of flowers, she couldn't help but notice her own reflection.
"I've changed quite a bit" she spoke aloud, patting down her warped ponytail. The woman that approached Lord Sesshomaru, Kagura, was beautiful, and appeared to be closer in age to him than she was. Rin had to stop herself, she could feel a pang of jealousy form in her heart. She was nothing but an underfed and malnourished orphan mortal, her divine Lord would never see her as anything more than a loyal vassal. She had to accept in that moment that what she was feeling was nothing more than young, unrequited love for a Lord that saved her life. To truly love someone was to want what is best for them and what was obviously best for her Lord was to marry someone beautiful, of his own kind and station. Rin would do anything to ensure this for her beloved Sesshomaru.
Rin finished tying her crowns, and grabbed some rice from the paddies, and made her way back to camp. The fire warmed her flesh and the aura from the heat pulled her to sleep.
Morning came and went and the sunshine of the afternoon was upon Rin and the valley of her campsite. Her heart skipped a beat as just over the horizon she spotted her Lord.
"Come Rin, we are to be off!" her Lord had returned. Rin jumped up with joy. In her hands she had fistfuls of wildflowers and she ran barefoot toward A-Un, Master Jaken, and her Lord with a huge smile stretched across her face and a giggle in her heart.
"Where are we off to?" she asked.
"To visit one of our Lord's Fathers Old Friends" Jaken responded "...Though it really is none of your business, or your place to ask Rin" he added.
A-Un roared loudly as Jaken walked beside them, startling him and knocking him to the ground face first.
"Jaken, enough of your nonsense and don't fall behind" Sesshomaru shot back at him as he laid in the dirt path.
"C'mon Master Jaken" Rin pulled back A-Un's reins just enough to halt the creature from leaving the kappa behind, she reached down for him.
Jaken declined her hand and climbed beside her on A-Un's back "Thank you, Rin" he mumbled as they continued on.
They journeyed for just a few days when they found themselves in the forest that Sesshomaru's Father's Friend abided in.
"Your Late Fathers Friend Certainly Lives Deep in the Forest…" Jaken stated aloud.
"Welcome, I have awaited your arrival!" a deep and commanding voice echoed around them.
"A voice from the sky!" Rin exclaimed in wonder.
"I have been expecting you, Sesshomaru" the disembodied voice continued, sounding nearer and nearer as they followed behind their Lord.
"So you say that you knew I was coming, did you?...Old Bokusenou" Sesshomaru replied.
"You come to speak with me about the swords I presume" Bokuseno, the Tree Demon inhabiting a 2000 year old magnolia explained.
Sesshomaru and the Tree Demon conversed further as Rin sat on A-Un watching the scene play out before her.
Rin could not entirely make out their conversation, so she decided she would badger Master Jaken some more.
"Master Jaken, how long have you traveled with Lord Sesshomaru?" She inquired.
"Several hundred years I presume," Jaken responded proudly.
"Did Lord Sesshomaru also save you, like he did me?"
"Yes, but I was not such a nuisance that I required our Lord to dispatch the minions of the netherworld back to hell, Rin" he jabbed, reluctant to learn his lesson.
Fortunately for Jaken this time, Lord Sesshomaru was much too busy discussing the nature of the swords his father bequeathed him and his wretched half demon brother Inuyasha to bother with his nonsense. Not that Rin cared either.
"Is Lord Sesshomaru married?" She asks Jaken, while playing with her hair.
"What?!" Jaken was taken aback by the nature of her question.
"Does Lord Sesshomaru have a wife, I mean"
"No, My Lord has never had any desire to settle down that he's ever expressed, and you would do well not to ask such childish questions, you are lucky Lord Sesshomaru let's you travel with us, for what reason I have no idea, but I doubt that he would take too kindly to being interrogated about his personal life by the likes of you" Jaken rambled, he had grown fond of Rin in some ways but was reluctant to show her consistent kindness, in a way he felt threatened by her, and the high-esteem she seemed to have with their Lord.
Rin was still playing with her hair and didn't really continue paying attention to Jaken after he said No, so she wasn't affected greatly by his rude and harsh remarks. Unfortunately for Jaken though, Sesshomaru had finished his discussion with Bokosuneo just as he began his tirade against Rin. Sesshomaru was becoming increasingly annoyed by Jakens lack of manners.
"We're Leaving Rin, let's go" Sesshomaru commanded, A-Un turning heel quickly, Jaken began to follow them, when Sesshomaru kicked him, perhaps harder than he'd ever kicked him before.
They eventually made their way to the valley that Rin had made camp at previously when both Sesshomaru and Jaken had gone to address their dealings with Kaijinbo.
"Rin, I will ask you again to wait for my return, I should not be long, I am going to deal with Inuyasha" Sesshomaru nodded and began to depart, Jaken was quick to follow.
"You will stay behind with Rin, Jaken" Sesshomaru ordered with a sneer, knowing Jake was too dense to take a hint.
"WHAT?!...You want me to babysit My Lord?" Jaken shouted. Sesshomaru did not dignify him with an answer and continued on his way.
The little demon took a seat beside A-Un, contemplating the exchange that had just occurred.
"Master Jaken! Do you want to play a game with me?" Rin excitedly inquired.
"No!" he snapped quite sure of himself.
"Oh..Ohk" Rin sighed, defeated.
Jaken began to mumble demonic swears to himself. How could Lord Sesshomaru abandon him with this child? But mid contemplation, his heart dropped to the pit of his stomach, when he felt a cold tremble creep down his spine.
"If Lord Sesshomaru was really connected to Rin, then could he feel her sadness right now?" he thought quietly and aloud. "Rin! Wait! I'll play your game with you!" Jaken cried and shouted after her.
"Really, Master Jaken!? You will!" Rin jumped with joy.
"Yes! What did you have in mind?" he gasped for air after jumping in unison with her.
"Um…." Rin didn't believe she would actually get this far with Jaken "20 Questions!" she announced.
"Alright, shoot!" Jaken sighed.
"How old are you, Master Jaken?"
"I'm 825 years old"
"Wow! That's ancient! Ok, now your turn!"
"Were taking turns? I thought I was only going to have to answer questions….uhh…why are you following Lord Sesshomaru everywhere?"
"You are so funny Master Jaken! It's because there's a string tying us together"
"Wha-what?!" Jaken was very startled by this revelation.
"Can't you see it?"
"No! What are you talking about Rin?"
"I couldn't see it at first either, and I didn't know why I followed for sure, but one night I woke up in the middle of sleeping, I saw Lord Sesshomaru slouched up against a tree, just as I sat up, he looked towards me…I thought I was dreaming, but I saw it cross through the fire we built, it couldn't be burned, as I walked up to Lord Sesshomaru, the string shortened and moved away from the hearth, I fell asleep on Mokomoko and didn't think much of it at the time, but the next morning I saw it again! I've continued to see it almost every night before I fall asleep and almost every morning when I wake up"
Jaken stared at Rin, he wasn't sure how to respond. He had heard of the red string of fate many times before in his long life. All souls mortal, animal and demon had them, some were tied to others, others were tied to places pertaining to their destinies, but he had never personally seen one with his own eyes. The only time he could think of hearing anyone talk about seeing the red string was if they had been cursed, was Lord Sesshomaru cursed to be with Rin?
"I see….next question" he responded with a curious tone.
"How old is Lord Sesshomaru?"
"Um…I think he is about 500 years, give or take, I never asked"
Rin laughed, Jaken's mannerisms always managed to amuse her in the most unintentional ways.
"Where are your parents?"
"They were killed by bandits when I was little, my brothers too…um…Do you have a wife, Master Jaken?" Rin, still smiling, responded, but looked downward to try and prevent Jaken from seeing the sadness in her eyes.
"I have never felt the need to marry, before I was Lord Sesshomaru's loyal vassal I oversaw my own tribe of fellow kappa demons, I have always been called to leadership roles you see…Why have you been so curious about our ages and if me and Lord Sesshomaru have wives?"
"Because I told you how old I was a long time ago and I have no idea how old either of you are! In the village where I was born there was almost no one who wasn't married, and the people who weren't married were very old or young like me…why do you always carry around that staff with you?"
"It was a gift for Lord Sesshomaru…why did you name A-Un?"
"That was nice! I think everyone deserves to be called by their name and Lord Sesshomaru said that A-Un didn't have one, so I gave him one!...What kind of Demon is Lord Sesshomaru? Is he a hanyou?"
"That is two questions rin! Lord Sesshomaru is a purebred daiyoukai, and I can assure you if he ever heard you thought he was even a little bit human he would dispatch you quicker than he did the netherworld demons when he resurrected you… Can you communicate with Lord Sesshomaru without talking?"
"I don't know about that Master Jaken" Rin laughed "Sort of..It's not so much talking, and I think he can more or less feel what I am feeling, I don't really understand it…you can ask another question since I took your turn"
"I'm growing tired of this game Rin" Jaken sighed as Rin walked around A-Un and him.
"Who is this Inuyasha Master Jaken?!" the young girl inquired as they awaited their Lord in
The Green Kappa Demon chirped up with joy almost instantly, excited to share his beloved Lord's Saga with someone.
"Well, Rin it's a long and arduous story…Hold On Where are you Going!?" Jaken's wave of excitement had dissipated and was replaced with a wall of disappointment.
"Well, I don't really like long stories" Rin smiled back at Jaken as she led A-Un further into the forest to graze.
The Dragon Demon grazed for several hours while Rin sanged to herself and dreamed of her Lord. Unlike Jaken she knew very well where he had gone. And that was to visit this Inuyasha fellow. While she really didn't know much about him other than that he was her beloved's brother, the emotional distraught that flooded her body when he thought of him, was enough to tell her everything she really needed to know right now. When A-Un finished feeding and Rin realizing that Master Jaken would be seeking them out soon, they began their way back from whence they came. They stepped over bushes and hedges to see Jaken in a depressed state. Just as she began to approach the kappa, she looked up to see Lord Sesshomaru coming toward her.
"Rin, I hope you have fared well" his voice bellowed down to her.
"Oh Yes My Lord! A-Un fed on some tasty grass…but Master Jaken has become most melancholy" she sighed while pointing toward him.
"My Lord!" he shot out from his cries and ran toward his party "What gives my lord…why did you go alone after Inuyasha?" he demanded.
But Sesshomaru was in another realm of thought at this point and did not respond. While Jaken hung onto the anticipation that clung in the air for his Lord's next words, his dear Rin only looked at him in awe.
