Chapter 2

Back in the hotel the three demons discussed the events that just played out and Angel Dust was very excited after this spectacle played out.

"Man, did you see that? That guy just straight up wiped the floor with those fuckers! Exterminators? More like Exterminate-my-ass-tors!" The spider-like demon then bursted out in laughter. Vaggie simply rolled her eyes at this lame joke and instead focused her attention on Charlie, who was just standing there and was staring at the TV screen as the news rolled up

"Charlie? Charlie, are you okay," Vaggie's words managed to take Charlie out of her trance-like state. Charlie shook her head and looked at her seemingly worried girlfriend, "Oh, yeah, I am. Sorry, I was just trying to process what I just saw. It is not everyday you see an Exorcist getting killed, you know,"she let out a nervous chuckle and sighed.

Suddenly her phone rang and the young princess of hell took it out of her pocket. Her eyes widened as she saw it was from her mom. Charlie then excused herself and ran upstairs, so she could talk undisturbed. With a shivering hand, Charlie answered the call and said with uncertainty, "Um, hello?"

"Hello Charlotte. I hope you are not injured or hurt in any sort of way."

A bright smile blossomed on Charlie's face and she answered immediately with excitement and joy,"Yes, I'm okay! Thank you for calling, mo-"

"Your father has something to say to you."

The smile disappeared from her face as the telephone was passed and soon Charlie heard her dad's energetic and cunning voice, "Charlie, my sweet daughter! You probably saw the news so I will keep this short. How about you go and invite this mighty fella to come for dinner. You know, in order for us to show him some appreciation and let him know that we would really want him to stay."

This wasn't good. Charlie felt how her stomach tightens and her legs quivered. The way her father was speaking caused her head to fill with all sort of troublesome thoughts But even if she didn't want to bring this newcomer to her father, she knew very well that sooner or later somebody else with even more twisted desires would instead use this power for his or her advantage and that was the only reason Charlie forced herself to say with a trembling voice, "O-Okay, dad. I will see what I can do."

"That's my girl! Anyways, I hope you are doing fine and I wish you luck with your little diplomatic mission," Lucifer closed the call. He then looked back at his wife, who was giving him a very concerned look.

"You don't have to worry too much about her. She is a big girl now! Besides, she is not a weakling, she can defend herself very well and this will be a good experience for her that will prepare her for her future role as a monarch."

"I guess, but isn't that a little bit too much?" Lilith said as she inhaled from the cigarette she was holding.

Lucifer simply shrugged his shoulders and replied, "I can send some guards to protect her if that's your biggest concern. Of course, you can always go down there and hold her by the hand and walk her around like she is some sort of child. Besides, if she has the time to help sinners "rehabilitate" then she can certainly deal with this simple task."

Lilith frowned at him, but said nothing and just blew out the smoke from her mouth and nostrils. Lucifer turned around and said with a smug look on his face, "Now, if that's cleared, how about we get back to our business?"

After the talk was over, Charlie went downstairs and slided her phone back into her pocket as she walked inside the lobby. Vaggie turned her face towards her and asked, "So, how did it go?

Charlie sighed and said, "Well, it wasn't great, but at least this time mom called me and asked me if I am doing well. I said Yes -," Charlie awkwardly rubbed her shoulder "-, Aaand dad asked me if I could go and convince this new demon to come for dinner," she mumbled out quietly the last words.

"Wait, what! He asked you to do this?!" Vaggie's hair straightened up and her pupil shrinked. "Charlie, you saw what that guy did with the Exorcists. He is a monster! Who knows what he will do to you!"

Angel, who up until this moment was lying quietly on the couch, suddenly raised up his head and teasingly claimed, "Pfft, you judge him too harsh. The guy is totally fine. Besides, I think he is kinda hot. I mean, did you see those bulging muscles?"

Vaggie simply rolled her eyes and let out a small groan before continuing, "Still I think you shouldn't do that."

"I guess But I mean, I think that's at least some way to show this demon that we are thankful for what he did. And besides-" Charlie's words were suddenly interrupted by the bell ring from the front door. She looked at Vaggie before heading to open to whoever was there.

"It's not like dad wants me to go out immediately," she finished her sentence with a smile which disappeared shortly after she opened the door. Four tall and bulky demons, all dressed in black uniform and wearing sunglasses walked inside.

"Princess Charlotte, we have explicit orders from your father to protect you during your diplomatic mission," the demons bowed down afterwards. Charlie slowly turned around and shrugged her shoulders with a nervous chuckle. Vaggie crossed her arms and shook her head.

"And how exactly are we supposed to find this… Demon?"

"Like super easy"

Charlie and Vaggie turned their looks towards Angel. The male stripper slowly stood up, holding his newly bought mobile phone and tossed it at Vaggie with a smug grin on his face. Vaggie grabbed it and scrolled down to read the post about "the big dude in green" who was currently residing at some low quality hotel called "The Crying Hole". The post seemed legit, especially since it was the owner of the hotel who bragged about his client.

Vaggie sighed out loud before she tossed the phone back at Angel and looked at Charlie. "So, are you sure you want to go out and find this monster?"

Charlie thought about it for a few seconds as she turned her gaze towards the guards for a quick second before she spoke again, "Well, we don't exactly have a choice. We either bring him to my dad or we have to suffer the consequences if somebody else finds him."

"I suppose so." As Vaggie said this, Angel Dust jumped out of his seat and stretched his body. "So, are we going or what?"

Vaggie and Charlie shared a silent look before Charlie exclaimed, "Okay, guys. Let's go."

The Marauder looked around the small and poorly decorated room. Due to the poor lighting, his glowing eyes illuminated the place, giving it a dark orange shading which mixed with the pre-existing purple colored light that was coming from the lamp. Another slight creek came from the bed as the weak wooden frame and legs tried to support the Marauder's weight.

A vocal groan of boredom escaped his throat and the demon warrior looked down at his hands. He clenched his fists and loosened them soon after just for the feeling of action. There was a reason why he always looked out for a fight and was trying to remain as active as possible. Everytime he stood still, a benumbing feeling spreaded through his body, reminding him he was just a walking corpse. A fact he didn't want to remember.

"How exactly did I let that maggot convince me to stay in this hole?" He asked himself in order to distract his mind from the thoughts that bothered him. "But I suppose this is acceptable for a starter. Better than roaming the streets like a hungry dog."

His monologue was suddenly interrupted by a gentle knocking that came outside the door. The Marauder tilted his head, trying to decide if he should prepare to defend himself. He waited for a few seconds to see if these strangers would do anything else l, but nothing outside of a few more knockings happened.

Slowly, he approached the door, holding his trustworthy shotgun and opened the door. He didn't know what to expect, yet once he saw who was in front of the door, the Marauder was definitely surprised.

A young looking girl, supposedly some sort of demon, was standing there. She was dressed in an all-red clothing which was in a contrast with her brightly white skin and long blonde hair. Behind her there were six other creatures, four tall and muscular, one grey skinned, who had long and white hair and another one that was tall yet skinny and seemed to be covered in white fur.

As the Marauder inspected each and every one, his eyes shifted towards the girl in red. "What do you want?"

His deep and snarling voice caused Charlie to flinch a little bit, but she kept her cool and simply said with a smile, "Greetings, um, good sir. My name is Charlotte Magne Morningstar, daughter of Lucifer and Lilith Morningstar, rulers of the Pride Ring. Since your latest actions impressed-," Charlie tried choosing which word to use. "-the king, he sent me to invite you for a welcoming banquet."

After she stopped talking, Charlie let out a huge sigh of relief and felt a bit dizzy. The Marauder shortly after asked," And who are they? "He pointed his shotgun towards the others. The bodyguards and Vaggie each reached for their weapons after this gesture, but Charlie reassured them before she answered, "Those are my friends. That's my girlfriend Vaggie, -" she pointed towards the grey skinned girl, "-that's Angel Dust and the four demons behind me are my personal guards-"

"What am I supposed to do at this banquet?"

Charlie was caught off guard by how sudden this question was, but answered shortly after, "Well... It's like a party, there is food and in this case, we will congratulate you for your actions against-

"I know what a banquet is. I asked, ``What am I supposed to do at it?``

"Hey, cabron!" Vaggie snapped at him, but Charlie was quick to calm her girlfriend down, "No, no, Vaggie, everything's fine. Really." She then turned towards the Marauder and answered his question once more, "Well, I suppose you won't do anything. Maybe you could give a speech or something, I don't know. So, what would you say? You coming?"

The Marauder's eyes shifted just so slightly aside as the demon brute considered the offer. After one very silent minute, he came to the conclusion that he wouldn't lose anything if he accepted the invitation. Maybe his wish could finally come true.

"Yees-," he muttered behind his mask before he responded out loudly, "- Yes, I accept your invitation. But let me tell you something, little one - Don't try to hide anything from me or you might end up as the creatures I slew earlier," his eyes glimpsed for a moment.

Those words unnerved Charlie a little bit, but she stood her ground and answered calmly, "I can assure that there will be no such things. I give you my word. Now, would you like to come with us to somewhere nicer and -," Charlie stopped and sniffed the air before making a grimace of disgust, "-less smelly."

The Marauder nodded and he followed these strangers, as they headed outside.
