Disclaimer: I don't own Crash Bandicoot.

"And so once again, the world is safe." A warm smile was on Aku Aku's wooden face as he gazed down at the two bandicoots he was following. "Thanks to you, my children."

"Oh, it was nothing," Coco said humbly.

Crash said abseloutly nothing. He was not one to brag and boast whenever he succeeded to save the world. He was, after all, a marsupial of few words.

The bandicoots were making their way together through the jungle of N. Sanity Island. Their guardian witch doctor's mask kept close behind them as he floated through the air. The three of them were on their way home, having just prevented Doctor Neo Cortex and Uka Uka from conquering the world again. After defeating the mad scientist and Aku Aku's evil twin for the umpteenth time, they were looking forward to taking it easy now.

At last, the bandicoots' house came into view. Its white walls and red roof stood out against the brown and green of the jungle's trees.

"It is so good to be home," Aku Aku commented softly.

"Sure is," Coco agreed as they approached the front door. "I can't wait to get back onto my computer to start downloading some-"

Coco's words were cut off as Crash opened the door. A sudden silence swept over the marsupials and the mask - as they gaped with shock into their home.

The interior of the bandicoot house had been absolutely trashed. Their possessions were strewn everywhere in messy heaps and damaged conditions. Pictures which usually sat on the mantle above the fireplace were laying face down on the floor in broken frames. The curtains which were supposed to be hanging over the windows had been pulled down and ripped to shreds. The plants which stood in their pots had been knocked over while the logs that were often piled by the fire were in a complete jumble.

"My goodness!" Aku Aku cried, his reaction to the scene before him being more than a little understated.

"What's happened to our house?!" Coco's reaction was far more expected as she raced into her house, taking in the damage and mess it was filled with. "Who could have done this?"

Crash didn't say a word - yet his silence spoke volumes on how he felt. His eyes were wide with horror upon finding his jet board knocked from the wall where it usually hung. It was laying on the floor, it's yellow and red paintwork horribly scratched up.

How dismayed Crash was to find his transportation he used to cross deep rivers of the jungle had taken such terrible damage - but that was nothing compared to how he felt to discover whoever had done so also had the nerve to take a bite out of one of his Wumpa Fruits.

Coco picked up her laptop from where she had found it on the floor, checked to make sure it was alright before turning with bemusement towards Aku Aku. "Who do you think is behind this?"

The Witch Doctor's mask frowned. "This has to be the work of Uka Uka and Doctor Cortex. They must want revenge on us for foiling their evil plans again. Come, my children. We must make haste at once. If our enemies have done this to our home, then it is clearly not safe for us to be here. We must evacuate at once-"

"Just a minute!" Coco held up a hand to silence Aku Aku. "I know exactly who the pair of culprits behind this are! They is not Cortex and Uka Uka! I can show you precisely who did this to our home!"

Coco headed off into the kitchen, leaving Crash and Aku Aku alone in the untidy main room. The two glanced at one another. They had no idea how Coco had figured out who was behind this trashing of their home, let alone how she could reveal the fugitives right there and then.

"Come on! Out you come, you two little troublemakers!"

Coco reemerged from the kitchen - bringing a gasp out of Aku Aku while Crash blinked with astonishment. The younger bandicoot was clutching two figures, one under each of her arms. Her older brother and her guardian mask knew at once they had to be the ones responsible for the wrecking of their house.

"Polar!" Aku Aku cried. "Pura!"

"Of course! We should've known right from the start! This is what happens when we leave these two little rascals alone in our house while we go off to save the world!"

Coco set the two animals she was carrying down onto the floor before her. She gazed in disbelief down at the little white polar bear and the small tiger. Who would have thought that the trashing of the bandicoots' house was done by none other than these adorable little cubs whom she and Crash had adopted as their pets.

With a sigh, Coco placed her hands on her hips and shook her head. "You two are so lucky to be cute. I can do a lot of things, but getting mad at you two is not one of them."

"Ruff!" Polar barked, panting as he he were an adorable little puppy.

"Mew!" Pura meowed and licked his paw like a cute small kitten.

Coco shook her head again before turning to Crash and Aku Aku. Now that they had found out who the culprits were, they could safely stay in their house - and get to work on putting it back to normal.

"Well," she said, "this place isn't gonna clean itself."

"I'm afraid I would not be much help," Aku Aku confessed. "Having no hands will make tidying up impossible for me."

"That's okay! Crash and I will do it! Come on, big brother! Get out the broom as well as the dust pan and brush! Once you've swept everything up, you can fix our pictures' frames to hang them back up. Then you can put the pile of logs-Crash?!"

Coco abruptly stopped giving her older sibling orders upon seeing what he was doing. Her face was filled with shock upon again as she gaped towards her big brother.

Crash was laying comfortably on the messy floor. His eyes were shut tight while loud snores were escaping him. After saving the world from Cortex once again, not even coming home to finding his house in ruins was going to stop the bandicoot from taking a much-wanted nap.

Realising she was not going to get any help in cleaning up the terrible mess and putting the house back to normal from her overly-lax big brother, all Coco could do was let off a loud frustrated groan.

"Oh, Crash!"

The end.
