I found myself wondering if it would have ever made a difference at what point Merlin revealed his magic to Arthur? So I decided to write a fic exploring that concept. I initially used the second to last episode and the very first one. I just wrote the reveal scenes. It was fun, so I decided to keep going. I don't know how many episodes I will end up doing.

AU of 5.3. What if Arthur wasn't the only one to meet his ancestors? '"Merlin?" "Yes, Arthur?" "Why is my father currently having a stare off with a very dead Dragonlord?"

Arthur Pendragon has been studying history for almost 400 years. He's memorized all the lessons and all the books. Apparently his cheeky student Merlin Emrys disagrees. He can't possibly know more than Arthur, right?

Merlin is simply of the opinion that Arthur has awful timing, and needs to work on how he says things when his servant is exhausted beyond words. "What... do you... mean?" Merlin asks slowly, carefully, still half sure that he is hearing things, but half going along with Arthur's words anyway just in case he isn't.

Modern day!Au Merthur Arthur works at a music store and Merlin has just moved they meet when Merlin is lost and Arthur offers to lead the way not knowing of this stranger's secret. Love begins to grow but doesn't it turn too hard to hide who you really are from the people you most love? Merlin is going to learn that the hard way. It won't have smut unless someone offers to write it
