After a night of heavy drinking, I wake up and find myself in the Mass Effect universe. Will I be able to fix everything I hated from the games? [SI / Self Insert]

This is a somewhat faithful rendition of the Mass Effect story. This story includes an original and powerful character, Adam. This is a double POV between Adam and Shepard. Combat is described in detail. I make changes to fix retcons and inconsistencies. Any that I make is a mistake. If Adam ever speaks in the first person singular, it is a mistake.

Garrus never wanted this to happen. He never asked for this kind of chance. Maybe somewhere in his darkest thoughts, but never for real. Especially during this kind of mission. This was the cost for letting himself indulge in his feelings. They were nothing but trouble. (Slight AU where FemShep asks Garrus who she should save. But she isn't the only one emotionally compromised.)

Shepard is bleeding out and dying on the citadel before he can activate the Crucible. After losing contact the Normandy crew know the stakes and there is only so much time before the end. Post ME3 universe, Synthesis ending, which was weird and full of holes, but interesting. I found myself wondering what would happen next in that world, and realizing that, well, it could be just about anything. Femshep/Liara and lots of others we love. Sometimes, Canon Schmanon. Godhood themes - no offense intended to anyone. Serious angst, but one should never give up ALL hope.
