Brittany hadn't seen Santana and Kenai for at least a month since the day of the incident in the diner. For the first time, the normally cheery woman was at a complete loss about what to do and she couldn't help but feel a sense of despair about possibly never seeing her potential… something again.
The image of Santana's face contorted with pain and anger from that day constantly replayed in her mind…and the kiss…oh that kiss. It was so intense. Brittany had felt this spark between them that she couldn't deny and she couldn't stop thinking about the feeling of Santana's full lips, insistent against hers as the woman trembled against her. She had kissed so many people but had never come close to feeling like that with anyone before. Santana had held her like she never wanted to let her go and Brittany loved seeing the woman who was normally so controlled around her unleash that wild, fiery side.
Brittany had never done well at high school. In fact she had failed almost every class, surprising everyone, even herself, when she actually graduated. Even though she knew she was just a simple girl with not much to offer someone who was intelligent, rich and successful like Santana, Brittany felt in her heart that she could have made the reserved woman so happy if she would have given her the chance.
She knew she hadn't just made up the connection she felt between the three of them in her head and as much as she told herself it was best to let it go now, she couldn't help but miss their banter.
To her credit, Tina hadn't even said "I told you so" like she expected her to but merely gave Brittany the most sympathetic glances whenever she caught her perky blonde friend being uncharacteristically quiet, which somehow felt even worse.
Brittany was walking back towards the kitchen after setting a table on one of the lonelier days in the diner, not expecting anything other than the usual small stream of customers who usually came by on their less busy days, when something small and solid collided with her leg at full speed. "Mommy!"
She fleetingly wondered whose child was lost in their diner.
That little voice sounded awfully familiar…
Brittany looked down in confusion, gasping at the sight of rich brown curls, pouty lips and beautiful, slanted, dark eyes that were almost black in colour staring up at her. The small toddler, who was wearing overalls, just clung to her leg, refusing to let go and Brittany couldn't move so she giggled and lifted him into her arms, bouncing him on her hip.
He wasn't too heavy. In fact, he was tiny for his age while Brittany was strong from all of her dancing and cheerleading training over the years. It was impossible to resist Kenai's cuteness as he instantly cuddled into her. She still couldn't figure out why he constantly called her "Mommy" but for some reason felt a sense of warmth and happiness whenever he called her that.
"Hi, Kitten!" Brittany kissed his chubby, tan-coloured cheek, brushing back strands of his dark hair as the little boy gazed at her innocently with adoration, dimples deepening on both cheeks. "I'm so happy to see my little kitten but what are you doing here all alone, Handsome?"
Rachel and Tina both stared at them in shock, quickly figuring out what was happening and mouthing "What are you doing?" to Brittany from behind the counter as she walked around with the toddler who was clinging to her like a koala bear with his legs wrapped around her waist.
Brittany didn't mind at all. Secretly, she really wanted to stay with Kenai all day if she could but she wondered what she would do when the time came to take care of other customers or what would happen if her boss saw. Luckily the diner wasn't very crowded and she was able to hold him comfortingly for a few moments as he babbled to her.
She had really missed the presence of the tiny boy but felt heartbroken at how much he reminded her of a certain other person.
"I missed you!" Kenai squealed, looking up at her so sadly with pleading eyes as if asking where she had been and why she hadn't come to visit him. "Want to stay with Mommy!"
"I missed you too but where's your Mami, Sweetie?" Brittany asked again gently, stroking his hair. She couldn't get over how much the lovely child resembled his mother, aside from his slightly lighter brown hair and fairer, more golden skin tone, which were the only real differences. He even had Santana's adorable tiny ears and small chin.
Before she could say more, a certain frazzled looking, dark-haired woman burst into the diner and practically ran up towards them in a panic. Of course, it was Grumpy Cat. The blonde could tell from Santana's expression how terrified she was about not knowing where her son was.
"Kenai? Where did you… there you are - " Santana froze in her steps once she realized Brittany was standing there watching her. She frowned in confusion, silent as a series of emotions quickly passed over her face, ranging from fleeting relief to shock, guilt and then sadness. It was evident that Santana clearly hadn't been expecting to see the blonde ever again after their last meeting.
"I was so worried. He let go of my hand and ran off… I guess he went to a familiar place. Thank you for watching him," She mumbled awkwardly in a small voice, not meeting Brittany's gaze. "C'mon, Buddy, let's go."
Kenai made an irritated noise like a cat, screwing up his little face when his mother attempted to take him back from Brittany. He only snuggled closer to the waitress, defiantly wrapping his little arms around her neck and refusing to let her go, which made Brittany laugh. Santana sighed in frustration, putting her hands on her hips. "C'mon little guy, you can't cling to her all day. It wouldn't be fair to her."
"No!" Kenai cried, glaring at his mother. "Wants to stay here!"
"It's really okay, Santana," Brittany responded, smiling encouragingly and amused by the situation, in spite of how overwhelming it felt to finally see Santana again in person. The woman looked gorgeous in the black leather jacket she was wearing over a vintage t-shirt featuring some classic rock band with tight jeans that showed off her legs to complete the look. "I don't mind holding him for a little while longer."
Kenai sure was a smart little kid… it was almost like he knew exactly what he was doing trapping Santana and Brittany in the same location so that the dark-haired woman didn't have any choice but to stay there and talk to the blonde. Brittany had every reason to be furious with Santana after what had happened between them last time but she couldn't be.
Instead, all she felt was pity when she thought about how fearful and repressed the woman was. Now she was standing in front of her awkwardly like a lost puppy as if she didn't know how to interact with the waitress anymore.
"I missed my little buddy. I'm so glad he came back to see me." Brittany shrugged, focusing her attention on Kenai even though there were so many things she wanted to say to Santana.
"Brittany…" Santana started to say quietly then seemed to struggle with her words.
The blonde raised an eyebrow, tilting her head in amusement when Santana continued to stand there, fumbling with her hands awkwardly for a long time as she avoided Brittany's searching eyes. It was strangely endearing seeing Santana back to her usual self. Usually Brittany would help her out but this time she waited patiently to hear what Santana had to say.
"Brittany… I'm so sorry for how I reacted last time," The dark-haired woman looked up at her finally, guilt written all over her face as she bit her lip and looked like she wanted to cry. She took a deep breath, trying to explain herself. "I was angry at a lot of things that day but most of all, at myself, and you didn't deserve that."
"I understand," Brittany replied with a soft smile, shrugging. She knew it must have taken a lot out of the proud, irritable woman for her to apologize to her. "To be honest, I wasn't completely surprised and it kind of sucked when it happened but I think I forgive you. I think I forgave you right away."
Santana's shoulders relaxed and she looked relieved but stared at Brittany incredulously, shaking her head in disbelief, and blinking as she took in the blonde's words. "You mean… you don't hate me?"
Brittany shook her head, rolling her eyes playfully. "Is that why you didn't come back here for so long?"
"No! Of course not!" Santana hastened to reply, heat rising to her cheeks and a comical expression on her face. The blonde couldn't help but giggle. This response was so typical of Santana. Kenai joined in, laughing squeakily along with Brittany. He was eager to copy everything Brittany did especially if it meant teasing his Mami although she was sure he had no idea what the two women were talking about.
"If you want, there is a way you can make it up to me, Grumpy Cat." Brittany suggested, with a coquettish grin. She knew this was a bold move but it was now or never.
Santana narrowed her eyes for a moment, frowning at the nickname but then glanced up at her sheepishly, wondering where Brittany was going with this. "H-how?" She stammered.
"Breadstix. Saturday. Pick me up at eight in that ridiculously expensive car I've seen you drive." Brittany whispered, leaning in closer and watching Santana swallow nervously, processing this request.
"As in…a date?" Santana asked, blinking as if she couldn't quite believe it and dumbfounded. "You want me to take you out on a date?"
No duh…I've only been dropping hints for the last million years…
Brittany rolled her eyes teasingly and chuckled, poking her in the chest playfully, and looking up at her through her eyelashes. How much more obvious did she have to be? "Yes, Silly. "
She pressed a quick, tiny kiss to the side of Santana's cheek, lingering just above her mouth before the woman could pull away and didn't miss the way the woman's dark eyes flickered momentarily to her own smaller, petal lips when the blonde pulled away. Santana froze in place, alarmed as she stared at the napkin Brittany had discreetly slipped towards her with her number written in bright pink, girly handwriting.
Santana huffed after a moment, her eyes still glued to Brittany's number on the paper but surprisingly didn't refuse her. She appeared as if she was lost in a trance, to Brittany's amusement. Once she regained her composure, the irritable woman's face took on its signature steely expression as she faced Brittany again with her shoulders squared and arms crossed defensively. She pressed her lips tightly together.
Her stance was probably intended to be threatening but it had the opposite effect on Brittany as she took in the sight of Santana's sharp face and chiseled jawline. For a second, Brittany felt breathless, butterflies in her stomach as she was consumed by that strong, visceral attraction she had always felt toward Santana since their first meeting several months before.
"Fine. You have a deal."
Brittany had never expected that this would be so easy.
"Is that a yes?" Brittany smirked, toying with the collar of Santana's jacket as Kenai buried his head into her neck, dozing off.
"Hmph." Santana merely grunted in response.
The tall blonde snorted in laughter, seeing Tina who was obviously listening in the whole time give her two thumbs up from behind the display counter. Her friend was standing behind Santana at an angle where the Hispanic woman couldn't see her, cheering the blonde on the entire time. Brittany winked back at Tina, grinning. Santana of course didn't notice any of this happening somehow, still apparently taken aback by Brittany's mannerisms as she always was.
In the back of her mind she feared that Santana would freak out at the last minute and let her fears rule her.
Brittany couldn't stop herself from breaking out into a huge grin from ear to ear at work days later, inwardly cheering when a demanding text from an unknown number came to her phone.
Text me your address. It's Santana Lopez.
Does this mean it's a date, Grumpy Cat? ;)
Yes.
"You obviously like Brother Bear ," Brittany chuckled. "Good taste. That's like the best movie ever created."
The two of them finally were seated face to face in Breadstix, the only semi-decent restaurant in the whole of Lima. It wasn't exactly a five star establishment but Brittany had a feeling that anywhere the two of them went together would feel special because it was always them, lost in their own little world with each other.
Santana looked gorgeous in a simple, classy black dress - exactly as the blonde had expected from her - while Brittany wore a tiny pink dress with a slit up the side, strappy stiletto heels and her long hair in tousled, soft waves to complete the look. She was trying for a look that was stunning enough to completely grab Santana's attention without looking desperate.
Judging by the way Santana's jaw practically hit the floor when she had seen Brittany come out in that dress, she would say it was a success.
Despite her previous confidence around Santana, Brittany felt nervous and jittery now that they were actually alone together on a normal date, instead of waitress and customer.
"What do you mean?" Santana tilted her head in confusion as she often did whenever Brittany said something a little random or strange, which was often the case with the quirky woman.
"You named Kenai after the main character from that movie, didn't you?"
Santana's lips parted, clearly surprised at Brittany being able to figure this detail out so easily but then shrugged, casual and dismissive. "I mean, it was okay for a kid's movie."
"Aw you totally love that movie, Ms. Big Shot Lawyer," Brittany gushed, "You don't want anyone to know you like it. It's so cute. You're cute."
"I don't and I'm not cute ." Santana pretended to ignore her quips, becoming disgruntled again and crossing her arms over her chest even though Brittany could see her visibly melt a little at the other woman's flirtatious comments.
"Yes, you totally are, even though everyone thinks you're so mean and badass. You're really cute right now."
Santana just grunted, frowning at the bubbly woman and rolling her eyes but that hint of a flush was back in her cheeks that was noticeable through her dark complexion.
Brittany smirked, knowing she had won this round. It was so easy to get Santana all riled up.
Brittany took a sip of her wine and leaned back, surveying Santana who had been staring at her in her little pink dress as if mesmerized for the last ten minutes while Brittany told her random stories about her cat's secret life as a spy. She had half-expected Santana to just be grouchy and serious the entire time but the woman was attentive and smiling along with Brittany's jokes, her face softened and not always pulled into the tense frown she usually wore around others. Brittany loved seeing the lighter, more playful side of Santana that she only ever seemed to show around her son and the blonde waitress.
Finally, after they finished their meal, she decided to address the elephant in the room - which was, unfortunately, not an actual elephant - because Santana clearly wasn't going to tread anywhere near this particular topic.
"So, about that kiss?"
At the mention of the word "kiss" Santana choked, sputtering for a long moment and looking away, beyond flustered. "I shouldn't have…it was inappropriate for me to…I'm sorry."
"Why? I'm not sorry," Brittany replied easily, meeting Santana's dark gaze head on with a slight upturn of her lips. Santana said nothing, holding back as always and she shivered visibly when Brittany slid her leg up against hers under the table. "You know, for such a confident businesswoman, you really need to take a hint when a woman is coming onto you."
Santana made a choked sound. She placed a hand on Brittany's thigh, stopping her movements but gave her this intense, warning look she had never seen from the grouchy woman before, her eyes almost black, like she either wanted to murder her or ravage her right there in the middle of Breadstix. Brittany shuddered and swallowed hard, sincerely hoping it was the latter that Santana wanted. The hand didn't move from its position. Brittany was rendered speechless by Santana being so bold for once.
"Come back to my place tonight." Santana told her quietly in a rough voice and it came out more like an order, which the dark-haired woman seemed to realize with a wince only after she had said it.
"Yes, of course, Your Majesty." Brittany teased, even though her heart was racing at the thought of what this meant.
Santana being all bossy was very sexy and Brittany had no complaints, especially when the woman slipped her arm low around Brittany's waist as they left, in a possessive hold that anyone else could see. Brittany just leaned into the embrace, loving the feeling of Santana holding her.
Of course, it was no surprise to her that Santana lived in the richest area of town. The dark-haired woman's apartment was exactly as Brittany had imagined in all of her daydreams: massive, pristine, and very upscale with mostly bold, contrasting tones of black, white, and dark wood. The spacious apartment was stunning, if somewhat cold and sterile. Everything looked extremely expensive but barely lived in. It was so neat and so sparsely furnished that it was hard to believe a child of Kenai's age, or any child at all lived there with Santana.
Brittany wasn't expecting an older looking Latina woman to suddenly appear out of nowhere holding a familiar little boy who was shrieking.
"Mami!" He jumped down from her arms and barreled towards Santana at full speed, accepting a bear hug from her as she kneeled down to his level, smiling as soon as she saw him.
"Mommy! It's you!" Kenai then immediately shouted and pointed at Brittany, his eyes lighting up as he gasped, clearly confused at the sight of the bubbly blonde waitress in his home standing beside Santana instead of at the diner where he always saw her. Brittany practically melted at the sight of his adorable, black and orange footie pajamas with little tigers on them and tiger stripes on the sleeves. "You're here!"
"Hey you!" Brittany grinned, making silly faces at the boy and blowing him a kiss.
"Mommy?" The middle aged woman echoed, her eyes lit up with confusion and surprise at Kenai's reaction to the blonde woman. "He's calling her "Mommy" , Santana? Who is this?"
Santana froze, obviously embarrassed and cringing but cleared her throat, not bothering to explain. "I forgot to mention that Abuela is babysitting Kenai tonight. Mami, this is Brittany Pierce. Brittany, this is my mom."
"Hi, I'm Maribel." The older woman glanced at the blonde curiously, raising an eyebrow at the body language of the two women who were posed so closely together with Santana standing beside her and holding the woman's waist in such an intimate way.
Maribel was obviously trying to figure out who this woman was to her daughter, though she didn't ask any questions. Brittany just smiled politely while Santana shifted beside her awkwardly as Maribel observed them. "I see. Santana didn't mention she was having company over tonight. Mija, I'll be leaving now. I just gave him a bath but couldn't get him to bed because he was all agitated about you not being home yet. It's nice to meet you, Brittany."
"Thanks, Mami," Santana muttered, turning to the toddler now, with her hands on her hips, after she and Brittany quickly said goodbye to Santana's mother. "I hope you behaved well for Abuela. C'mon, it's way past your bedtime, Mister."
"No Mami, I don't want to!" Kenai whined loudly in protest and pouted the whole time Santana was trying to get him to settle down. He was obviously barely managing to keep his eyes open and yawning but he was all wound up especially with Brittany being there. He kept running to bring his toys to show her. He dashed around in circles like a little energizer bunny, becoming increasingly hyper. "I wants to play with her!" He shouted.
"Well you needs to go to bed, Sir." Santana sassed back at him, rolling her neck while he just glared at her as aggressively as he could, which wasn't very menacing on his adorable little chubby-cheeked face. Kenai was just as stubborn as Santana was, which made Brittany smile.
"It's okay, Kitten. We can play in the morning." Brittany reassured him gently, rubbing his back comfortingly as he yawned loudly, rubbing his eyes and swaying on his feet from exhaustion.
"He's overtired and his routine is broken," Santana explained with a sigh, massaging her temples. She scooped him into her arms smoothly, cradling him like a baby while he continued to protest loudly and kicked his feet. It was easy to tell that this was probably an everyday battle between Santana and her son that Brittany was witnessing. "Kenai, bedtime. Now. Let's not make this a fight."
"No. no, no! Don't want to!" He yelled at the top of his lungs and Santana winced, her jaw clenching as she tried to remain patient.
"How about I read him a story?" Brittany suggested, after the battle between mother and son had raged on for a few more minutes and Santana was becoming visibly more exasperated. Kenai cheered excitedly at that, no longer squirming in Santana's arms to get away from her.
Santana looked over at her in amazement as she carried Kenai to his bedroom, obviously grateful for Brittany's help. "Really? You'd do that?"
Brittany grinned at her excitedly. "Of course!"
Brittany beamed at Santana a few minutes and one fairytale later as the little guy finally closed his eyes, breathing deeply and clutching his cat plushie tightly to his chest. Brittany had finally got Kenai to calm down, listening with rapt attention as the woman told a story about the adventures of a unicorn princess and her grumpy advisor - a very fat, gray tabby cat, who was of course, called Lord Tubbington.
Santana rolled her eyes but Brittany noticed a trace of a smile on her lips as she listened to Brittany act out all of the different voices while Kenai giggled and begged her to tell him more. The Hispanic woman pulled the little boy's blanket up to his chest carefully, making sure he was tucked in. The two adults smiled at each other, relief evident on Santana's face. They were careful not to keep any noise as they slipped out of his room, leaving the toddler's nightlight on and closing his bedroom door as quietly as they could.
"Seriously, how are you such a natural with kids?" Santana smiled at her with such fondness, crinkles showing by her eyes like they did whenever she gave one of her genuine smiles that made Brittany feel like her heart could burst from happiness. "You're so much better at this than I am. He has never gone to bed so quickly without a fight."
After Kenai had been put to bed, they made their way into the living room and sat beside each other on the couch, talking quietly so that they wouldn't wake up the little boy.
Brittany shrugged, biting her lip and was unable to stop herself from smiling as Santana continued to gaze at her with that unabashedly smitten look on her face. "I don't know. You just have to listen to them and play with them. They're pretty fascinating."
"Sorry, I know this hasn't exactly been ideal first date material for you. Kenai doesn't see too many adults, aside from me and my mom, so it's a big deal for him," Santana sighed, turning to her with an apologetic expression. "I can't remember the last time I told him a proper bedtime story. I guess that's why he's so attached to you. I know I'm not the best mom. I can't give him everything he needs. He's lonely with just the two of us and my anger is so bad sometimes even though I try my best to hide it from him. Not to mention I'm working long hours most of the time. It's not fair to him."
"I understand," Brittany said gently, rubbing the dark-haired woman's shoulder gently. It meant so much to her that Santana trusted her enough to tell her these things. Brittany wasn't sure how the woman would react to her touch but Santana just leaned into her hand and didn't push her away. "You're a great mom. You try really hard and he's a lovely little boy."
Santana smiled at her gratefully but then her expression darkened and she stared off into the distance. "On that day…back when I had the fight in the diner, Smythe told me that I'm a terrible mother. Everyone in this town sees me as some complete bitch."
Brittany frowned, shaking her head. That man truly was pathetic.
"Oh Santana. It's not true. Don't believe it for a second. In any case, I don't care what anyone else says about you because I know you. You're not an evil person."
Santana smiled slightly but then turned to her with those same frightened eyes and that guarded look on her face again, sighing deeply as her face crumpled. For a moment, Brittany feared that she would clam up again and shut her out but her next words took the blonde by surprise.
"Brittany, I need to tell you something I've never told anyone. The truth about how I had Kenai… "
Brittany just stroked Santana's shoulder, nodding encouragingly as she tried to convey to the woman with her eyes that she wouldn't judge her, regardless of what she had to say next.
"Everyone thought I was the biggest slut back in high school but the truth was I hated every second of having to pretend to be the maneater. I wanted so badly to fit in and be the straight cheerleader but I just couldn't be. The truth is that I was just a dumb, insecure seventeen year old who wanted to be popular. I got blackout drunk one night and before I knew what was happening, I woke up the next day and this big, blond douchebag football captain was telling me to get the hell out. Guess I've always been into blonds, huh? It's just his plumbing that was wrong for me." Santana joked with a sad smile that didn't meet her eyes and cringed at the memory. "God, I was a mess."
"Anyway, a month or two later I found out I was pregnant and no one believed me when I said that ignoramus was the father. He told me to get rid of it right away but for some reason I decided I wanted that baby even though I never wanted kids before in my life. See, homeboy was one of those rich uppity WASPs, like the Fabrays. The fucker and his parents were so furious that I destroyed his perfect golden boy reputation."
Santana frowned, her voice trembling with emotion as she continued, the memories clearly still painful for her to re-live.
"He told everyone that I was lying about the kid, that I was just an evil bitch who wanted revenge on him for rejecting me. Guess who everyone believed instead of me?" The dark-haired woman laughed bitterly. "So I kept Kenai and I had to drop out of school in my senior year. Of course, all my cheerleader friends ditched me and my popularity was over. My mom was the only one who was there to support me."
"I'm so sorry, Santana." Brittany frowned, pursing her lips tightly together as she ran her fingers through long, straight black hair soothingly. It was horrible that Santana had been through that experience and so unfair that everyone always thought the worst of her before they got to know the real her. It must have been so difficult for Santana to have a child with almost no support at such a young age.
"The snake has never wanted anything to do with my son but that's perfectly okay because I don't want that trash anywhere near Kenai either," Santana growled, practically shaking with anger at the thought. "If he or his friends ever hurt my child, I'd kill them, I swear."
Brittany just stroked her arm consolingly, watching her sadly as she could see Santana tense up, furious at the thought of Kenai being in danger.
"When I was younger I got into so many fights all the time. After that whole mess happened with that douche spreading nasty rumours about me, I flipped out and I guess I can't control my anger anymore. I was always so angry at myself and the world for being gay...and then what happened in high school just made me even more of an outsider in this town. Now everyone hates me."
"Oh San," Brittany put her arms around her as Santana wiped away a tear that was making its way down her cheek, her voice sounding choked.
"I feel like such a terrible person," Santana admitted, trembling in her arms and burying her face against Brittany's neck as her chest shook with uneven breaths. "How could I have been that reckless and selfishly brought a child into this world?"
"Santana, I don't care what happened in your past." Santana looked up at her questioningly, searching her face for some sign that she was lying, as if in disbelief that Brittany was telling her this. "You were so young and you did the best that you could. You're a good person."
"You've been so kind to Kenai and I all along since the day you met us. I've never been able to properly thank you," Santana whispered, her voice sounding shy and small. "You were the only one who has ever shown me kindness in this town."
Brittany shrugged, blushing. "It's not really a big deal. I saw you two and right away I could tell you there was something about you that was special."
Santana's face softened completely and she just gazed at her with what could only be described as an adoring expression, as if Brittany was this angel descended from heaven to be with her. Brittany felt her own attraction towards her grow, to the point where she felt almost overwhelmed and breathless with the intensity of it.
Brittany could feel Santana's burning, coal dark eyes on her all night as they sat together on her couch watching a movie after their conversation about Santana's past - somehow with a few smiles and quips Brittany had managed to convince Santana to put on Brother Bear against the grumpy woman's better judgement. As she suspected, it was the perfect way to cheer Santana up.
Brittany kept giggling at the scowl on Santana's face and the way she'd barely manage to hide her smile whenever Brittany hummed the songs from the movie under her breath, although she was pretending to be mad. Brittany knew it was only a pretense. Everytime they moved, their hands would touch or their thighs would brush against each other, making the blonde shiver as the tension between them grew.
She knew what she wanted from the dark-eyed woman and she could sense that Santana wanted the same things but Brittany told herself she couldn't always be the one to make the first move between them.
Would Santana ever take a chance on someone like her? Maybe after they had been through, she just wasn't good enough for the elusive Santana Lopez. Or maybe despite the obvious magnetism between them, Santana just wasn't ready to be intimate with anyone again after her past experiences. Brittany sighed, getting up and walking over to reach for her coat on the rack as it was getting late.
She had all but resigned herself to the fact that Santana was just too stubborn and fearful to make a move when she felt surprisingly strong, lean arms slipping around her waist.
"Going so soon?" Santana whispered teasingly, her lips brushing against the shell of her ear, as she pulled her against her. For once it was the blonde who squirmed, feeling a rush of warmth to her cheeks as Santana flipped their positions around and caged her between her arms, pushing her slightly so that the blonde's back was pressed up to the wall.
"You look so beautiful tonight. I thought about our kiss all the time. Even though I tried so hard to forget it, to convince myself that it was a mistake - to get you out of my head. I've never wanted someone the way I want you and it's terrifying."
Brittany shivered, hearing words she had never thought she would hear from Santana. "I want you too."
God did she ever want Santana.
Their lips met in a searing kiss, Brittany tilting her head and cupping Santana's jaw as a whimper left her throat. That same spark, like a little electric shock ran through her to her fingertips and she felt breathless, her toes curling as she arched into Santana. She heard Santana moan softly and before she knew what was happening, she was leading Brittany into the master bedroom.
From then on it, everything was a blur as hands desperately pulled off clothes and trailed over skin. Brittany allowed Santana to push her back on her bed and straddle her. She had known that if this ever happened between them, it would be amazing but she hadn't expected it would feel like this.
"Did I ever tell you that you're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen?" Santana whispered, kissing her way up the line of Brittany's pale neck to her jawline. Brittany felt heat creep up over her chest and settle in her face. Santana's hands began to map out the most sensitive areas of Brittany's body like the soft, fleshiness of her inner thighs, the insides of her wrists, and the freckles on her lower stomach.
"Look who's shy now?" She teased softly with a smirk, as Brittany covered herself, feeling rather timid in the presence of Santana now that this was really happening between them. Santana was gentle and patient with her, gently kissing her neck until Brittany finally relaxed under her gaze, moving her hands to Santana's shoulders. "I want to see you..."
"Touch me." Brittany pleaded, grabbing Santana's hand and pushing it down to where she needed her the most between her thighs. The Santana that she saw in private was so tender and affectionate but there was that animalistic side to her that was so intriguing to Brittany.
"Can I?" She asked, gently parting Brittany's thighs, where the blonde knew she was dripping and beyond ready, feeling a flush work its way up her body as Santana continued to kiss and worship her inner thighs, as if savouring every inch of the milky, delicate skin. Brittany just nodded, with a sharp intake of breath as she arched her hips involuntarily.
Santana kissed her way up her abdomen and chest, finally reaching her lips, she pulled back to stare into her eyes as she slipped easily inside of Brittany all at once. Brittany gasped into her mouth, instinctively gripping Santana's bicep while grasping onto the sheets with her other hand.
Santana smiled at her gently, her dark eyes so tender and loving as she tenderly explored her, finding the spots that made Brittany arch into her and keen. When Brittany writhed against her, her movements became more insistent and forceful until they found a rhythm. Brittany was melting against her chest with a series of breathy moans. Santana smirked into her skin, biting into the area where her shoulder met her neck. "You're so soft. You feel so good."
Santana gasped, momentarily losing her concentration when Brittany slipped a hand between them, finding the apex of the Santana's thighs and delicately touching her.
"More" Brittany breathed, lifting her hips and spreading her legs wider for Santana. Santana shuddered at the display and complied as Brittany opened herself completely to her in every possible way. She wrapped her legs around Santana's waist and allowed her to fall deeper inside of her, causing them both to tremble as they were overcome by the feeling of it. Brittany's lips parted as she felt the pressure build higher inside of her and she heard Santana panting beside her ear. The sight of Santana's aroused, desperate face as she pulled back to look at Brittany and the sound of her breath hitching as she struggled to hold back her own pleasure made Brittany unravel even further.
"Tell me what you need." Santana whispered urgently, tenderly brushing strands of Brittany's hair out of her face.
"Just harder, more, deeper… " Brittany begged breathlessly, struggling to explain but Santana seemed to instinctively understood how to make her fall apart. Santana sped up her movements, putting her back into it and Brittany felt like tiny flashes of lightning were going off in front of her eyes. Santana was so deep and Brittany wished she could keep her there forever.
She clung tightly to Santana's back, her hands slipping from their place on her sweaty skin as she tipped over the edge with a cry of Santana's name. Santana groaned into her pale neck at the sight and sound of her coming. Her hips immediately jerked against Brittany's thigh and hand as she shuddered and cursed, her teeth clamping down on Brittany's shoulder.
She jerked against Brittany's hips hard and forced herself against her as she came, as if wanting to bury as much of herself into the blonde as she could.
After a moment of bliss had passed and their breathing slowed, Santana pulled out of her carefully, watching her face as if searching for any sign that she was hurting her. Brittany made a soft sound as she did so and Santana kissed her cheek apologetically. Brittany lay back and they shifted so Santana could rest her head on her shoulder, her body curled into the pale woman's side. Brittany trailed her fingertips over Santana's shoulder blade, smiling as Santana pressed a chaste kiss into her neck and everything felt perfect.
