13919. Please remember that in port towns, many people are familiar with signal flags, any "secret message" you try to hide without using some other code won't stay secret very long.
The sound of clattering magnets made Defiant look up from the bracelet she had been examining in the gift shop of Newport's new Sailing Museum. Patriot was playing with a set of fridge magnets depicting nautical signal flags along a metal wall, just as she had been for the past few…
"Trish!" The yachtgirl hissed out her sister's name in an angry whisper as she saw the magnets were spelling out rather… inappropriate… words. "There are kids here!" Defiant reached out to very quickly swap a "Sierra" magnet with a "Kilo".
"Heh, it's just a joke. How many kids do you really think know their—"
"HEY! Hey, it's her! The America's Cup lady!" Both AC-75s turned to see a dark-haired young girl pulling on her mother's hand near the cash register.
There was indeed a photograph of Trish inside of the museum's America's Cup exhibit, as well as a model of her hull. Blushing with embarrassment, Patriot bit her tongue and tried to regain her composure as Defiant took the opportunity to discretely reshuffle the magnets behind her.
"Trish." Defiant whispered again, her back to her sister as she replaced a "Foxtrot" magnet. "This is Newport."
