All Things Must Die

Weiss sat with Yang in a secluded shelter. The room wasn't a very large one. It would probably fit a dozen people at most. It was a sparce place. Just two beds and a pantry full of dried food. They were both seated on one bed, Yang on Weiss's left near the wall. They wanted to leave the other bed open for their companions. The two were sure they'd make it here. Frankly, they wouldn't allow themselves to think of any other option.

The two of them were away from the villagers of Konoha, and Weiss appreciated it. She couldn't imagine how the citizens must be feeling right now and she was so worried herself, she wouldn't be able to take all their frightened chatter… even if she couldn't understand them. Hinata and Temari were near the entrance, speaking to one another in their native tongue. Based purely on the inflection of their voices, Weiss knew their discussion was a serious one.

"Do you think he's okay?" Yang asked. Weiss turned to her and wanted to just nod and agree, but she hesitated. Naruto and Sasuke considered the Otsutsuki a serious threat and the element of surprise was not on their side this time. Would they be taken seriously now? And if so, could they win?

"I'm… sure Naruto will be fine, Yang," Weiss said. Yang snorted once and Weiss winced. She could hear the tremble in her own voice. There was no way Yang believed her. She hardly believed herself.

"I'm sorry… you must be worried too."

Weiss blushed at the implication. She could see it more in the way Yang looked at her than what she said. "Yes, well…"

"You don't have to be so cautious, Weiss. It's okay. I made you an offer, remember?" Tang replied. Weiss gave a hesitant nod in response.

"I do. It is just so… scandalous and peculiar. I cannot imagine the chewing out I would receive from my sister."

"Why does that matter?"

"I care what my sister thinks… her opinion is important to me. And besides, I'm not sure I'm the type to do this regardless. I've never fancied a woman before, Yang."

"I get that part but that's why I said you should just take it slow."

"I know… I… this is just a lot for me to think about right now, Yang. Can we discuss something else?" Weiss asked. Yang looked to the floor and sighed.

"I guess. That was—it was a good distraction."

"He's going to be alright, Yang," Weiss said, this time with more confidence.

"It's not just that. I've been doing my best to ignore it, but this is all too much! I miss my dad, Weiss. I didn't get to say goodbye. I didn't even get to see his final moments! I wouldn't even know he was dead if you hadn't told me. Ruby and uncle Qrow must be devastated. And my sister doesn't even have me to lean on at a time like this. I don't know what to do with myself."

"You'll do what you've always done. Endure. You're strong Yang. You've always been the one to keep your cool the most on our team. Even Blake, as stoic as she tends to be, has shown a crippling weakness at times. But not you, you've been arguably more level-headed than any of us. You'll get through this and when we get back to Remnant, you'll have your chance to tend to Ruby."

Yang didn't reply after that. Weiss was sure she didn't know what to say. Though she wanted to help, Weiss had never really been one for pep-talks. She wasn't sure her words had enough of an effect on her teammate to matter. She couldn't just leave Yang to wallow, however.

"Can we hug, Weiss?" Yang asked. A bit of red dusted Weiss's cheeks, but she refrained from any response that might be typical of her. She doubted Yang meant it the way she usually would if she wasn't feeling so down.

"Of course, Yang," Weiss replied, opening her arms. Yang gladly accepted the gesture and threw her own arms around her, hugging Weiss tightly. Weiss did the same. They remained that way for at least ten minutes. Weiss wasn't sure of the time, but she knew it must have been a while. Yang had fallen asleep after all. Weiss sighed but didn't bother moving. Yang was clearly comfortable and since her back was against the wall, she was rather comfy as well. With another sigh, Weiss closed her eyes only for them to snap open at the sound of the door opening.

Her head whipped around, and she breathed a sigh of immense relief at the sight of Winter and the others. She'd been worried they wouldn't make it to them.

"Weiss! Are you okay? Is miss Xiao long alright?" Winter asked. Weiss nodded but held a hand to her lips to ask for quiet.

"Yang's fine… she's just sleeping. She, well, she was not doing very well just a moment ago. I think all the stress has finally gotten to her. She's worried about Ruby and everything on Remnant and now with Naruto off fighting…" Weiss said.

"I can understand how she may have needed some support," said Winter, scrutinizing their position on the bed. Weiss didn't quite appreciate the way her sister was eyeing them, but she let it be. This wasn't the time to confront Winter about it. Honestly, she'd likely just end up having to answer questions she didn't want to answer in the first place.

"I can't replace her family, I'm afraid," said Weiss.

"We need to get back home, yes," said Winter. A silence passed between them and just when Winter was about to speak again, a swirling vortex of black and red struggled to life right before their eyes. Her hand went to the hilt of her sword and Weiss trying to get up woke Yang. Cinder's eyes blazed as Emerald brandished her guns in the same moment Hinata and Temari moved upon the portal, ready to pounce.

All their hostility would prove to be unnecessary. No threat stepped from the portal, in fact the one who came out exited as if in a daze upon wobbly legs that crumbled beneath her weight as soon as she touched upon solid ground. Had Hinata not reacted and caught her, she would have landed upon the ground face first. Behind her, the portal closed and on the bed Yang's eyes widened in shock.

"Mom…?"

A wall of sand blocked Momoshiki's next attack as Sakura tried to heal Naruto as quickly as she could. His regenerative abilities were working in tandem with her, and he'd be fine in just a few more seconds, then they could work on Sasuke together. The question was, would that be enough time? The answer was no. Momoshiki appeared above Sakura, killing into washing over her as his raised leg came scything down at her. Killer B's tentacles, tendrils of sand, and Kakashi intervened. They blocked the blow but the ground beneath them cratered regardless.

Sakura grit her teeth but pushed forward. Her heart thudded in her chest, but she smiled when Naruto's eyes shot open, and he sat up.

"Help me heal Sasuke!" Sakura ordered, Naruto didn't waste any time and the two of them got to work as Momoshiki swung an arm around, wind swirling in his palm. Smiling viciously, he was just about to let the attack fly when a lightning coated arm slammed into his neck from his right.

"Lariat!" The technique carried Momoshiki away and his jutsu impacted the ground next to Naruto and Sakura, cutting a deep trench into the dirt. Growling and unharmed, Momoshiki dug an elbow Ay's chest and took the air right out of him before spinning about and kicking him away. He was caught by Gaara and set back onto his feet, though the man was clearly hurt.

Momoshiki set his eyes upon his newest opposition. An army awaited him.

"Look at you vermin, always scurrying about and grouping together as if it means anything. What are insects to me?" Momoshiki said. Tsunade stepped forward and healed Ay, her Sozo Saisei already active. She glanced over to her student as she and Naruto healed Sasuke and guessed they'd need at least thirty seconds. She would give it to them.

"Charge!" yelled Tsunade. Momoshiki smirked as the gather shinobi dashed at him. He charged in kind. The first three shinobi to meet his wrath we incinerated in a moment just before he slid beneath a kick from Lee and absorbed two katon jutsu. Jumping out of his crouch he kicked two shinobi in the chest, caving in their ribcages before vanishing and appearing next to Gaara, hand outstretched. Gaara's sand stopped the appendage as the Mizukage spat three globes of lava at Momoshiki's back.

His free hand slid beneath his opposite arm and absorbed the jutsu only to release an explosion of fire a moment later, blasting the Mizukage away and killing more of their shinobi. A moment later, his arm tore through Gaara's sand and made a grab at air. Gaara had not been foolish enough to stay put. Clicking his tongue, Momoshiki crouched to avoid a punch from Tsunade that vibrated the air and carried brought with it a wall of wind from pure strength alone. His robes billowed from the new breeze before he lifted a foot and gut checked her, pushing his foot through her abdomen with a bloody squelch.

Only ten seconds had passed.

Smiling wider, Momoshiki made to pull his foot out, but Tsundade grabbed hold of his leg. The markings of her Sozo Saisei had spread, indicating the activation of her Byakugo. She looked up and met Momoshiki's eyes, blood trailing from her lips as she glared him down.

"Rrah!" Her arm came down upon Momoshiki like a sledgehammer, catching him in the cheek. Momoshiki flew face first into the ground as his foot dislodged itself from Tsunade's body. The ground beneath them was torn asunder, sending large chunks of earth into the air before he bounced up and into one of B's waiting tentacles where he was slammed into the ground again.

"I grow tired of these games!" yelled Momoshiki, still unharmed as he ripped the tentacles clean off B's body. He was just about to leap into the air when he found himself incased in a mostly transparent cube that began to rapidly shrink.

"Die!" Shouted Ohnoki.

"Enough!" Momoshiki said, slamming his hands together. The Jinton cube around him exploded as an icy gale spread from around his body and turned the once burning forest into a frozen tundra in seconds. Many a shinobi became nothing more than ice sculptures, flash frozen by Momoshiki's technique. Those that survived the attack struggled to move their freezing bodies as Momoshiki stalked toward Ohnoki. The old man shivered as he struggled to remain airborne, the cold seeping into his bones as he tried to keep his eyes open.

Ohnoki had been one of the closest to Momoshiki when he used the technique and though he'd survived the assault, he was not well. Human bodies were not meant to shift temperatures so quickly. Ohnoki tried to lift an arm, but before he could Momoshiki was in front of him, flicking blood from off a sword made of some sort of red energy. Ohnoki's eyes scrutinized the action, his mind working to discover who'd been cut. And that's when the pain finally set it. Ohnoki's arm was on fire.

The Tsuchikage looked down at his left arm, the appendage gone from the elbow down. He had to grit his teeth, holding in a scream as he met eyes with Momoshiki. The man looked upon him manically. Momoshiki raised the sword.

"I would even you up, but I have more pressing matters to attend to," Momoshiki grinned. He raised his sword high. Right as the weapon began to fall, he swung around to block a strike from Sasuke's katana. He'd taken too long.

Momoshiki tried to bat Sasuke aside with his blade, but the Uchiha held strong. And then he suddenly snapped his eyes shut.

"Rinpun Rasengan!" Momoshiki glanced off to his right, only to be forced to shut his eyes. Something had blinded him, but he wasn't sure what. It had been too bright fro his eyes. What Momoshiki didn't see was Naruto approaching a Rasengan infused with Chomei's scale powder in his right hand. Before Momoshiki could do anything, the technique slammed home, catching him in the cheek and sending him spinning away.

The moment Sasuke felt the resistance of Momoshiki's sword give he opened his eyes and inhaled at the same time Naruto did.

"Hosenka no jutsu!" Sasuke exhaled several fireballs that chased after Momoshiki.

"Nezumi Kedama!" Naruto fired off a single mouse shaped ball of blue fire that soon split and followed the same path as Sasuke's attack. The moment the two techniques touched the still lingering scale powder, there was an explosion that rocked the forest. The two of them glanced at one another, waiting. They knew this wasn't over.

And they were correct.

Momoshiki appeared next to Naruto, the back of his fist nearing Naruto's face only for the attack to be ducked. Naruto replied in kind, throwing out a fist that was blocked. Momoshiki smiled and the two blurred into motion once more, their fists crossing paths as they dodged and blocked each other's blows. Unfortunately, as they continued to trade strikes Naruto found himself being overwhelmed and soon took a blow to the stomach followed by a knee, then a punch to his face.

Stumbling back, Naruto felt Momoshiki grab his neck. He panicked as he felt his chakra begin to drain, only to soon be behind Momoshiki, taking a gasping breath as Sasuke took his place. Sasuke's katana already swinging, angled to dig into Momoshiki's throat. Momoshiki blocked the attack with a blade he materialized as Sasuke's eyes began to bleed and Momoshiki was engulfed by Amaterasu. The Otsutsuki was forced to drop Sasuke to absorb the technique, but that gave Naruto the time to recover.

The two of them lunged at Momoshiki at the same time and the three began a ferocious trading of blows. Momoshiki blocked a strike from Naruto only to land a palm into his gut as he parried Sasuke's sword. Naruto fought through the pain of the attack and willed a Gudodama forward. It slid out from behind his back and caught Momoshiki in the leg, causing him to stumble. Sasuke took the chance, and deflected Momoshiki's sword before raising his own and swinging it down at the Otsutsuki's head.

With gritted teeth, Momoshiki materialized a club between the katana and his head. The block knocked Sasuke off balance as Momoshiki swept both off their feet and jumped up, fire and lightning swirling in his palms. With a grunt he let the elements fly from his hands down at the two of them. Naruto and Sasuke scrambled away from the beam moments before impact and were tossed away.

Naruto manifested Kurama's tails to slow his momentum as Momoshiki flew at Sasuke. Naruto lunged after him but halted as he saw Sasuke smirk. Momoshiki tried to stop, but a look from Sasuke had him flying at the Uchiha against his will.

"Enton: Honoikazuchi." Spikes of Amaterasu leapt from around Sasuke and would have impaled had Momoshiki not absorbed the technique. Doing so, however, set him up for the vicious roundhouse kick Sasuke delivered to his neck. Momoshiki was sent to the ground, tumbling through the air end over end.

"Naruto!"

"On it!" Naruto replied, meeting Sasuke as he created a Rasenshuriken that Sasuke soon infused with his Enton release. With a burst of speed, the two of them caught up to Momoshiki and drove the technique into his back and then took it and him into the ground before they leapt away, allowing the jutsu to expand and explode. The two of them looked into the rising smoke as they took greedy breaths.

"I grow tired of you vermin… continuously standing in my way! I will make you suffer for your transgressions!" There was an explosion of lava and earth from the smoke as Momoshiki finished speaking. It rose high into the sky before it slowly rapidly changed shaped into what they could only describe as a gargantuan gorilla. "You and this world shall perish," Momoshiki seethed, standing atop his constructs head.

"How… how did she get here?" Weiss asked. Raven had been placed upon the free bed. The woman was unconscious and Hinata had determined she was dehydrated as well. She wasn't able to give Yang a timeline on when Raven would wake up though.

"Uh… my mom's semblance is called kindred link. She can make portals between herself and people she has a connection to, but I never thought it could reach across dimensions," said Yang. Qrow had told her about her mom's semblance once and when she was younger Yang had thought it was really cool. As she'd gotten older, however Yang just grew to detest the ability. In all her years, Yang couldn't remember her mother ever visiting her. Her semblance should have made it easy to do, but no. Yang never saw her. So, either Raven had no connection to her own daughter, or the woman simply chose not to check on her.

Yang wasn't sure what she considered worse.

"Well, it's clear that it can. And she risked death to try and find you. There's no telling how long she was traveling between dimensions, but any longer and she would have succumbed to the dehydration," said Hinata. Yang could hardly believe it. What was she to think of Raven now? This didn't erase years of mistreatment, but surely this at least earned her another chance.

She's the only parent I have left… Yang thought. When Raven finally woke up, she and her daughter were going to have a long overdue conversation.

Sasuke and Naruto had to strain their necks to see Momoshiki atop his golem construct. It towered over them, Momoshiki smirking down at them as he awaited their challenge. His patience, however, was short. The golem lifted its foot and then brought it down right no top of them. Sasuke and Naruto managed to dodge and regroup with their team, but the earth shook and wind knocked their weakened forces off their feet. With a look to one another, Sasuke and Naruto knew there was only one thing to do.

"Kakashi-sensei, try and get everyone out of here. And maybe see about getting a barrier up," said Naruto. Kakashi, who knew exactly where this was going simply nodded before he dashed off. Sakura, who lingered behind for just a moment longer left after saying one thing to her teammates.

"You two better be careful. Come back to me."

"Well… let's do this," said Naruto, "Kurama!" Golden chakra blazed around Naruto as it formed into the head of a fox before growing and shaping into the massive form that was Kurama. Alongside him, Sasuke's Susanoo formed as well and the two of them now stood face to face with Momoshiki. But they weren't done.

"Doing this is disgusting… but allowing him to live would be more so," said Kurama as he and Naruto held out a fist. Sasuke Susanoo reached out as if to do the same, but instead when they made contact the armor of Susanoo covered Kurama and the two shinobi of team seven found themselves standing together against Momoshiki. This was only their third time creating this fusion. They wouldn't have even thought to try it if Kurama hadn't mentioned his battle against the Shodaime when he'd been controlled by Madara.

Kurama detested the thought of being wrapped in another Susanoo, but this was too good of a technique to leave be. And now they were glad they hadn't skimped on the practice. The golem Momoshiki created was strong. They could feel it. They glanced at each other one last time, nodded, and then Kurama stepped forward. The golem replied in kind, swinging its fist forward.

Kurama pivoted, spinning around and using two of his tails to grab hold of the appendage before the other seven slammed into the golem's body and sent it stumbling back. Still mid spin, Kurama began to draw the Katana at his waist. As they came out of the turn the sword flashed forward as Sasuke willed Amaterasu to cover it.

Momoshiki's golem blocked, but only succeeded in having its arm lopped off. Momoshiki attempted to reform it, but the flames of Amaterasu prevented such. Furious, Momoshiki made a gesture with his hands and the golem opened its mouth. Naruto and Sasuke could feel the immense heat from where they were. The frozen landscape below them began to rapidly melt. It was so hot their skin would likely be bubbling if not for the protection of Kurama and the Susanoo.

"Kurama!" Naruto shouted.

"I know!" Kurama yelled back, a Bijudama forming in his mouth, only for Naruto and Sasuke to add futon and enton chakra to it respectively. A blast of flaming lava exploded from the golems mouth only for Kurama to fire off a scorching bijudama in reply. The two attacks met, but Kurama had made sure to angle the bijudama slightly below Momoshiki's technique. The two attacks flew into the air where they exploded into a humongous cloud of fire that even reached down to the earth below, obscuring the vision of Naruto, Sasuke, and Momoshiki.

The clouds above them began to darken now, lightning arcing through them from the heat. A droplet of water hit the now damp earth below before another followed shortly after. Soon it was raining heavily. Momoshiki glared at the smoke before him and had his golem charge forward. A mistake.

Kurama's katana came tearing out of the smoke, dispersing it and revealing another bijudama in Kurama's maw. Momoshiki rose an arm to block on reaction, but it was the same one that had already been sliced off. The Katana hit home at the golem's chest and tore clean through it as Kurama fired off his bijudama. It met the upper body of the golem and exploded.

Momoshiki went tumbling down to the earth, ears ringing from the sound of the blast and the force. He righted himself just as he hit the ground, leaving a deep crater where he landed. Before he could get his bearings about him, Naruto and Sasuke were already upon him. Flung his sword at Momoshiki who used an energy weapon to deflect it above him, only for Naruto to grab hold of it and slash downward.

Momoshiki blocked that as well, but Sasuke's flying kick caught him in the stomach. Coughing, Momoshiki flew back only to halt mid-flight and be pulled back toward Sasuke. A slab of earth arose between them at Momoshiki's urging and he landed upon it, feet first. Sensing danger, he pushed off the slab and just in time too. It burst apart as Naruto flew through it, Rasengan in hand.

Momoshiki rose his hand to absorb the jutsu only for Naruto to suddenly be swapped out with Sasuke. Momoshiki's eyes widened and with a lightning-fast slash, Sasuke's blade found the webbing between Momoshiki's middle and ring finger. His sword carved a bloody trail down Momoshiki's hand, tearing through his Rinnegan and ending the threat of Momoshiki's absorption for good.

"You! I'll kill You!" Momoshiki raged as he lifted his other hand and fired off blast after blast of varying elements. Sasuke cut through them one after another. Naruto darted from behind Sasuke's back, only to be caught by Momoshiki's quick aim. That Naruto burst into smoke as the ground beneath Momoshiki broke apart, revealing the real Naruto who caught the Otsutsuki with a devastating uppercut. Now in the air, Momoshiki righted himself once more and continued to gain altitude before peppering the landscape below with more elemental attacks. Tree burned, were cut down, uprooted by the crushing force of water, or flash-frozen by icy winds.

Naruto and Sasuke avoided it all by taking to the sky themselves. The wings of Susanoo and gudodama carrying them higher and higher as they approached Momoshiki. The Otsutsuki screamed in outrage as he saw them approach and chose to target Naruto first, rocketing toward him with such speed that the sound barrier broke. A conic ripple of air the only thing he left in his wake. Naruto created a clone on reflex and allowed Momoshiki to tackle it. Instead of bursting into smoke, however, Momoshiki was greeted with an explosion.

He grunted as his smoking body twirled through the air toward the ground.

"This is the end Momoshiki!" yelled Naruto as he began to fall down toward Momoshiki like a heat-seeking missile. One of his arms was covering itself with fire. The other with wind. Slowly the two elements neared his hands. As Naruto slammed his palms together, the two elements coalesced, becoming a bright orange fire that burned like the sun.

"You will not be my end vermin!" Momoshiki replied, lifting his hand once more. Thunder roared overhead; lightning crackled through the clouds ominously. And for some reason, Momoshiki felt, for the first time in his life, fear. Above both Naruto and Momoshiki, Sasuke let his electrified hand fall.

"Begone with the thunderclap." Faster than Momoshiki could follow, Sasuke's Kirin broke from the clouds and took him, burying Momoshiki into the earth below at 1/1000th of a second. Now, laying upon the charred earth, Momoshiki's equally blackened body could only stare up at a descending Naruto as the young man pulled his hands apart, revealing a kickball-sized orb that glowed like the sun.

A groan escaped Momoshiki's lips as he tried to raise his ruin absorption hand. It didn't budge. Naruto pulled his hands away from the orb before letting it get just a few feet away from him and kicking it. It accelerated toward Momoshiki as it began to grow and slowly form into the sun colored, snarling visage of a building-sized Kurama, all nine of its tails swaying in a deadly yet beautiful dance.

"Shakuton: Senko no Kyuubi!" The Shakuton incarnation of Kurama roared to the earth and impacted Momoshiki. He had no time to scream. No time to blink. His eyes evaporated out of his sockets as his throat bubbled before the water in his body followed the lead of his eyes. His skin shriveled and then Naruto's Shakuton technique faded, all that was left of the once arrogant Otsutsuki was a mummified husk.

Otsutsuki Momoshiki was no more.

That's that. Momoshiki falls. I hope you all enjoyed the fight and some of the new techniques Naruto showed here. I also hope I did Naruto and Sasuke fighting in tandem some justice here. For those wondering, I view Kurama as a powerful entity of fire and air based off what I see in the anime/manga, so I chose to have Naruto's new element be scorch release (Shakuton). I thought it would fit. The jutsu he used—and I hope I translated it properly—is Senko no Kyuubi (Flash of the Nine Tails).

As stated last chapter, FFH is nearing its end. Salem is the only "real" threat left. Well… aside from Sasuke. It's just about time for our two protagonists to finally… FINALLY! Put their battle at the forefront and "clear the air" so to speak. I'm looking forward to that after all this time. Sasuke will get to show off some of his new techniques in that bout. Look forward to it. I'd say there are only three chapters left. Maybe four. It depends. Maybe five or six if I have a bit more inspiration. Next chapter will likely be the Naruto vs Sasuke fight… maybe. Might have one thing before it, but it's definitely soon.

As stated in the above AN. I want to remind everyone (or inform those who don't read the pre chapter AN) there won't be a chapter next month due to my wedding, so I really hope this can hold you guys over until then. See you again in September.

If there are any questions you all have, feel free to leave a review. If you want some sort of more in-depth discussion, then go ahead join the discord. For anyone who wants to come through and chat when I stream that would be appreciated. We can talk about anything from anime to fanfiction, to any topic that comes to mind. Currently wondering what to stream now though. What might you all be interested in watching? Anyway, that's it. Peace out.
