Spring was, without contest, Kagome's favorite season.

She loved everything about it, from the brilliant colors that bloom upon every branch, to the sweet perfumes those blooms create. The nights are still chilly, but the sun brings warmth with it, and Kagome savors the happiness it instills within her.

The group was traveling toward Sesshomaru's home in the West – to consolidate and finalize, according to the Western Lord.

Or to cross t's and dot i's, according to Kagome.

The priestess smiled as she walked, a happy sigh falling from her lips.

A twig snapped to her right, drawing her blue gaze to settle upon the stoic profile of the daiyoukai, himself.

"Are you excited to go home?"

Her question amused him, his lips quirking upward briefly.

"I am not opposed to the interlude."

"Well I'm excited for you. And I'm excited to see it for myself. After all Rin's told me, it must be breathtaking."

"Hn. Breathtaking."

Movement in her peripheral caught her attention and she glanced at him again, seeing his eyes already upon her.

Vibrant blue sparkled with fondness, and the lord reveled in the warmth.
