A dark tale of Data's life in the Mirror Universe. Isolated beneath the ruins of Omicron Theta with his ineffectual father and innately cruel mother his is a life shaped by monotony, fear, pain and impotent rage. In the end, he sees but one way out.

Despite everything, Data is declared property and removed from the Enterprise. Years later, Picard is ordered to test run one of Maddox's prototypes, and begins to see shades of a friend long thought lost. "Measure of a Man" AU.

It is about 2385. Kyla Soren Riker is half human, half J'naii, the first of her kind ever to be born. The J'naii are an androgynous race who cast Kyla's mother out for choosing to live as a woman...and for loving Kyla's father.

In the first piece, Picard finds himself an unlikely but fierce advocate for Christmas against a Scrooge-like Ambassador; In the second, the crew begins to exhibit odd behavior...
