Very special tribute to Spike, former evil vampire. In fact, this text is a version of Roxette's song, "The Look" (1988).

(AU) After one night of debauchery, Buffy and Xander's friendship is irreversibly changed. They are both wary of exploring their unforeseen feelings for one another at the risk of ruining their friendship forever.

Time has past, Spike has connected with a detective which quits the police force and works for Angel. What challenges will cross their path? Spike/OC

While spending a day together, Satsu lets Buffy know that the number four represents death in Japan. Buffy has now had four vampires drink from her (The Master, Angelus, Dracula, and Spike), and Satsu fears that if she doesn't have one more vamp do so, Buffy will die. So Buffy is this then off on a mission to convince Angel to drink from her again, since Illyria bound his soul.

A sequel to Warming Up to New Things, please read that first. Buffy and Spike embark on their odd experiment of being less than enemies, and possibly even friends. Tired of hurting each other, tired of being hurt by others, they decide to see if a simple friendship would work out. It goes surprisingly well, leaving them to wonder just how far beyond friends they might go.
