Jack the Wolf chopped up some carrots.
He saw Quickshot get killed by a E-1000 before his eyes.
He carefully measured the flour before adding it to the water.
He realized that Boom got caught in his own explosion.
He expertly seasoned his ingredients to enhance their flavor.
He had to leave what was left of Sarah in the wreckage while Eggman's robots did their sweeps.
He closed the lid on his pressure cooker. He took a deep breath.
Jack was no longer in the war. The war was over, he reminded himself. Wolf 6 was long since done. Cyber sat in the living room of their home in the Mystic Ruins, watching one of those weird old sci-fi shows she liked. Raccoon had gone to see that one cat he liked to hang out with. Cyber was safe, Raccoon was safe, what was done is done. No use freaking out over a beef stew.
Jack took another breath. This type of anxiety always showed itself at the worst possible times. Maybe he should be like a normal person and get therapy? Eh, after all this ECS stuff was done, he'd get around to calling a shrink...Maybe...If he felt like it. He heard the phone ring in the next room over, a landline due to the spotty cell reception they got. Cyber used a small translator device to answer it. "?" She listened for a minute, then called Jack over. "Yes?" He said, picking it up. His eyes widened at the news the person at the other end gave him. "I'll be there as soon as I can. DON'T touch the site!" Jack hung up, then turned to Cyber. "I've got something I need to do alone, probably won't be back until tomorrow. You think you can handle the rest of that stew by yourself?" Cyber nodded in response. "Thanks, babe, You're the best." Jack said with a smile and a kiss on her forehead. He quickly loaded his gear onto his van and was soon off towards his destination.
Jack later arrived at Everhold Prison, geared up in his full battlesuit and accompanied by his Void Wisp. The suit had become strangely comfortable as of late, as if he was slipping on a second skin with each new use. Either he was getting used to his more action-oriented lifestyle...Or the thing was wearing out, and he'd need to get a new one soon. Whatever the case was, he was quick to greet the warden. "How long ago?"
"No more than an hour or two before we called you." The warden said, as he led Jack through the gate. "With all of the types of brutes we've held in this prison, I'll admit that we might've gotten a little lax in our surveillance of him." The warden opened the final door for Jack to get to the cell he was looking for, but he stopped when he noticed who was in front of it. "Spike?"
The purple hedgehog looked up at him. "Jack." She greeted him curtly. "What are you doing here?" Jack asked, walking up beside her. It was obvious that while he was happy to see her, even given the circumstances, she wasn't quite as happy to see him. "Same thing you're doing. I'm here to put Edge back in prison."
