Pop!-The echo of apparition resounded in the house, starling Lily from her sleep making her jump slightly, Harry was still asleep in the crib she managed to transfigure when they arrived late at night
Lily! I need help! Hurry!-Sirius called from the sitting room sounding distressed and maybe a little hysterical.
She ran to the sitting room making sure that Harry was protected in the crib. She wasn't expecting the sight before her, James was stretched half on the sofa and half on the floor with blood dripping from several lashes across the beautiful skin on his chest, his glasses were cracked, dirt and debris covering the rest of him, with trembling hands, Sirius was trying to clear the blood.
Sirius! Oh god! I have to check him! Oh Merlin, I help us! Hecate save him!- Lily said after quickly checking his vitals she started to heal him— Vulnera Sanetaur! Vulnera Sanetaur!
After what felt like hours, she sat in a chair completely exhausted, she was sure James would pull through and after giving Sirius a calming draught, it was time for some answers.
What happened Sirius? It is obvious that we were betrayed but I want to know why you took longer than we anticipated? You should have arrived hours ago!- she hadn't realised that she was yelling until she heard a small whimper coming from the crib. Taking Harry in her arms she saw his beautiful green eyes glassed with tears silently asking "what is happening?"
Lils, love, it was madness, James fought hard, everything was destroyed, but your trap was successful, that rat Pettigrew and Moldy blew up! I was searching for James in the debris when Hagrid appeared and started shouting at me about being a traitor! He came at me and I had to knock him out with an overpowered stunner and he said something about Dumbledore's orders and muggles and prophecies and that he had to find Harry…it didn't make much sense so I found James and appareated to Grimmauld Place and from there I took the portkey carrying Jamie and finally landed here—Sirius finished sobbing. Lily wrapped her arms around her love bringing both the comfort they so desperately needed.
As much as she wished for a different outcome, the truth was that Dumbledore was a manipulating old man and they could no longer trust his word, the bright side was that James, Sirius, Harry and she were not harmed and now all of them as a family, once James woke up, could plan the next step, hopefully avoiding the british wizarding world, however she knew that Dumbledore in all his supposedly wisdom would try to interfere in their lives.
