Chapter 10: Sins of Son to Father and Angel's Fall

Vecna's Hidden Lair

Within the hidden lair of Vecna, we see the main area where the test went done, which was clean and bare now. The machine was removed and placed ready for transport for the next testing stages, on a much larger scale. However, there was one massive drawback that Vecna did not foresee. The machine drained him of his power and almost nearly killed him, leaving him very weak for a good number of hours. It seems the machine needs a lot of energy from the user and drains quite a lot from the said user.

Vecna was resting and recovering his strength in order to see the final results of Kelly's mutation. The machine triggers mutation within humans, animals, and planets, having no effect on mutants whatsoever. Now the waiting game to see the results of the senator's mutation come out the black-haired mutant looks forward to the results.

Vecna soon got up from his massive bed and wore a black overcoat, having his mind made up and enough strength to travel too to see Kelly's mutation within his cell. He walked out of his room and to his suprised see Sabertooth on guard.

"Sabertooth, I'm suprise you stand guard," Vecna admitted.

"Just doing my part, runt. Of course, Mystique tried to see you but I told her off as you didn't want to be bothered by her," Sabertooth explained.

Vecna frowned at that and didn't like how at times, Mystique bothered him like it was her job. He didn't need her or any members of his father's friends. They mean nothing to him now but pieces of a chess board and help move forward. He used Erik to gain the machine and blueprints to later gain members of his Brotherhood. He would use that shapeshifter until it was over but a small part of him was hurt by that thought and he shook it. They...mean nothing to him. If they did, then they would have saved his mother all those years ago by those damn humans! But soon, within short days, humans would have the same fate as mutants.

"Good...let's go see what mutation our guest has gained. I look forward to the results," Vecna smirked as he walks to the cell blocks and the animal mutant following behind.

"I hope that shithead turns into a rat," Sabertooth smirked.

"Anything is possible but I mainly want to see if the mutation was successful. If not, then you may have your toy to tear apart," Vecna said, getting Sabertooth to chuckle darkly and got on what the leader of this New Brotherhood wanted him to do.

"Have Toad, Blob, and Pyro ready the machine for transport after Kelly's mutation is successful," Vecna ordered, getting a node from the wild mutant.

Vecna and Sabertooth soon made their way towards the cell brocks, one of them being in use and where the senator was locked up in case he tries to escape or something has gone wrong in his mutation. Better safe than sorry and that part was very accurate as the pair soon saw what kind of mutation awoken.

The pair soon saw shredder clothes all around the cell room, claw marks all over the walls like some animal trying to escape, and the rotten smell of flesh & blood in the air. The rotten person who was once human, Kelly was no longer and took a different appearance that was a surprising result of his mutation. He was now a tall and thin humanoid creature with elongated limbs. He had sharp claws on his hands and feet. His head no longer shows any normal features but small amounts of his once hair and showed more when he unfurled the flesh of his face, showing a flower to reveal 'petals' lined with many sharp teeth and a large open mouth.

The mutated Kelly soon roared at the mutants as if remembering who caused this transformation and the pain he went through.

Vecna smiled darkly and saw a good test was done, not one he planned but the machine works.

"Well unexpected results but the machine triggers mutation at a quick rate. Feed our new brother, Sabertooth. He's hungry and I need his strength to be ready for what I have in store for those X-Men," Vecna said, having a sinister thought in mind and a great way to buy more time when getting the mutant to power up the machine. He would use Kelly...no. His pet, the Demogorgon against the X-Men soon.

But first, the black-haired mutant was going to gather some humans to feed his pet.

Xavier Mansion

Back at the school, we see Charles talking with one of his old students and one of the originals.

"Ah, that's better. Much better than the ones made at back the house prison," A female voice commented, drinking another sip of her tea and letting a relaxing sigh out.

She was a beautiful woman with a dark shade of blonde hair and sky-grey color eyes. She had an Olympic athlete figure from her years of training and could make a good number of people jealous. She wore a grey bussiness suit, white undershirt, black leggings with boots, and had an angelic aura around her, which ties to something else as well.

This was Willow Worthington whose mutant powers, were clear as day as we can she has two massive white feather-like wings on her back. She was often mistaken as an Angel or the code name her older brother took which is the main reason she back to the only home she knows of.

"Thank you, professor. It's hard to get some good tea like this," Willow smiled.

"It's no trouble, Willow. I'm happy you are here but I fear it's not a social visit," Charles said, sensing his old student's troubled thoughts.

"Not quite, most of it. I needed to leave home, my father (sigh) has been pushing forward on his cure plan. Even after removing my brother's wings, he didn't get the picture and become very worst when Warren left with no warnings. I later comfort my father about what happened and how shame I was of him for doing what he did. We fought, but this time got a bit worst and I decied to disown myself, leave for good and try to find my brother. That leads me here to see if he was here but no luck," Willow explained.

This made Charles frown and felt sad for Willow & Warren deeply. Warren was a proud and one of the best students he ever had. He could remember how nervous young Willow was when her older brother brought her here to the mansion and how happy she was when learning more about her angel-like wings. Now to hear of what Warren Sr had done to Warren sickens him, mutation is not a disease or anything, it's a normal thing just like breathing. Not everything sees it that way or believes it.

"I'm sorry to hear what happened. Poor Warren. You don't know where he went?" Charles asked, being concerned for one of his oldest students.

"No, I at first thought he came here. This place was the closest thing we have to home and the true family we have," Willow replied, honestly, and was very true.

Whenever Warren or Willow have a problem at home, they come here and talk with the closest thing to a true father figure they have.

"Sadly, Warren hasn't come here, Willow. But maybe using Cerebro, I might find him. Do you mind following me to the basement?" Charles asked.

"No, I don't mind professor. And it's been a long time since I have been here. It's good to be home," Willow said with a happy smile on her face.

"You are always welcome here, Willow. This will always be your home," Charles said, happy to have one of his old students back and would do everything in his power to find his other student. And pray that Warren is not in pain.

Willow never lost her smile and almost had tears of joy in her eyes but placed her tea down and clean her eyes up. She always feels happy here and would enjoy that. She also had heard a lot of things have happened when she was gone and new members joining as well, which in fact, one has already joined about almost four months ago. She wonders about this Will person and the other two new members joining within a day or two. She would have to find out very soon.

However and before heading down the elevator to the lower levels, Charles stopped as he sensed someone calling him through the psychic link that he has in the open channel. He hummed and wonder who wanted to talk with him but felt the importance of it.

"Willow, you mind going ahead of me and powering up Cerebro? It has been a while since I use and it best to do a systems check," Charles offered.

"Oh, of course, professor," Willow said, not minding doing that, and would be good to walk around to bring up some good memories of the happiness she had here. And she was one of the few who knew about turning the Cerebro's power on.

Charles nodded his head as he watched Willow heading down in the elevator downstairs and he wheeled himself to his office to see who wanted to see him in person. He couldn't figure out who wanted to talk to him as the message was hard to make it. He could guess it is one of the telepaths or maybe Logan. He would find out soon as he opened the door of his office and saw who it was.

The professor saw Will, Emma, and Betsy waiting for him, all having a serious look on their face and attention was in the air.

"This is a suprise...what's going on?" Charles asked, seeing a good amount of questions from the three or four if you count Carnage but also understanding and concerned for him.

The trio shared a look for a second and then Will spoke, "Professor, we need to talk about something very important...and about your son. And the danger he has become."

This greatly suprised Charles to the core and shocked him that the three know about that. His eyes widened for a second but soon calm down and thought it through, knowing a few people that could have told them about his past & son.

"Erik pay a visit?" Charles guessed.

"He did. He warned me about this great coming danger and discovered from your past until he then showed it to us," Will replied.

"And that's not all. Magento also found discovered something that happened during Vecna's stay on Genosha," Emma said, bringing out a folder that had pictures within and handing them to the professor to look at.

And Charles wished didn't as his eyes became widen in the horror at seeing the crimes his own son had done.

"This is...(sigh)," Charles said, sighing deeply and shocked at the discovery of his own son doing these horrific crimes and experiments on humans. Men, women, and children won't spar of his cold nature.

"I'm sorry you had to see that, professor. Magento found that after going back to Vecna's room and lab he used on the island. Those won't easy to find but Magneto discovered them from a hidden plastic safe in walls," Will said, recalling how Magneto give them more troubling news and discovery how evil Vecna was.

"It's fine, Will. My son...I wish I could do more for him and be there for him after the loss of his mother," Charles said, seeing how the death of Yui broke their son and turn him into the monster he was becoming.

"I think you once told us something a long time ago and reminded us. We can't save everyone or those that don't want to be saved. I think this is just more than his hatred for those that killed his mother but rather much more and that hatred build up over the years," Betsy said, recalling from the memories from Erik of Charles II's start and later fall into fully becoming Vecna. Evil is not born, but rather created over the years and then unleashed itself onto the world.

"How a fool I was," Charles frowned, putting his hand on the side of his hand.

"No one blames you, professor. And we understand the reason for hiding all of it. I just don't understand why not tell anyone about it after you have been there for a good majority of us," Will said, wanting to know from the man he looked at as a father figure for answers.

Charles sensed that and understand that he smiled sadly at that. It was true, he was there for all of his students and mutants. Some were more grateful than others and a good number were pulled out of the dirt from they started at. Yeah, he should have told some of his X-Men about his past but he didn't want to trouble them about it.

"That was a mistake on my part, Will, Emma, Betsy. My foolishness not only caused what my son has become but also on not telling anyone about it," Charles admitted.

"It's fine, Charles. But I think this should come to the light soon as more secrets would only hurt than the truth itself," Emma explained, knowing firsthand what those secrets can do.

"Agree. Should I bring the others, professor?" Betsy asked.

"Not yet...but soon. I first would like to find one of our is missing, Angel," Charles said, understanding the truth must come out but would wait as he wants to find one of his students who was missing.

"Angel? You mean Warren?" Will asked as he was told about the originals by Jean and the history they had together.

"Yes. Willow has explained to me about Warren disappeared after his wings were removed and escaped the house. I'm hoping with Cerebro, I can find him," Charles replied.

"Yeah...alright, let's go find Angel. And I think we got a team already covered," Will said.

Charles nodded his head in agreement and said, "I believe you are right, Will. I would have you, Willow, and Betsy checks on his last location while Emma supports you on the X-Jet."

"Good and after that," Emma started.

"I would explain to everyone about Vecna and what danger he is now," Charles finished, knowing that Frost could be just as cold as the truth and to point at times.

Will agreed to that and was happy a bit that Charles was willing to tell everyone about Vecna & storm he would unleash very soon. First thing first, it's time to see if they can find their missing angel and bring him back home.

...

AN: I'm very happy with how this story is going and excited to keep going. Oh, and yes, Will would have a harem pairing. Forget to mention that at the start but here we are and are open to a few suggestions.
