Chapter 20: Menma's Last Stand
Battle was raging with the Aurors and the Death Eaters, as the two groups were facing each other off. The Dark Mark has been light upon the night sky, rightfully so signifying that Dumbledore has fallen and the age of darkness is rising. Snape and Malfoy were making their escape, as Bellatrix, Fenrir, and the Carrow twins wreak havoc amongst the castle. It's a good thing Naruto and his allies arrived before any more innocent lives were taken. The blond Uzumaki hacks and slash every Death Eater that was about to attack him using his gunblade. Both Itachi and Killer Bee worked side by side slicing and dicing every Death Eater who had the stupid idea of taking the two on. Some of the students who didn't have any part in this were almost attacked by the Death Eaters, when Naruto protected them using his armiger spell. "Get to safety! Go!" Naruto ordered, as they didn't have to ask twice. Naruto creates multiple shadow clones as they all turn into Kurama mode. "Alright, spread out and help anyone who isn't hostile, do you understand?" The clones nodded and went to help out in the battle, as the main Naruto tried to find Menma as he could sense the bastard here.
"Naruto!" a voice shouted, as the blond turned around to see that it was Ron and Hermione. "Hey guys, what are you doing here?! Shouldn't you be with the others?" Naruto asked. "We've been looking for Harry, but we couldn't find him. Luckily we found you, hoping you would know where he is," Hermione explained. Naruto shook his head, "Sorry guys, I just arrived to see that the Dark Mark was already lit upon the night sky. I managed to take down some of these chodes and my clones are already helping out in the battle," he explained. The two nodded, when Ron notices Naruto in Kurama mode. "So that's what you look like using the Nine Tails chakra?" Ron asked. "Yeah, during the one week training trip, I managed to master the fox's power. Heck I even managed to impress him and win over his trust," Naruto stated. "I must say, you really look good in this form. Can't wait to see what else it could do," Hermione complimented, as Naruto blushed but thanked her.
"Anyways let's go find Harry," Naruto said, as the two nodded. But before they left, Naruto stopped as he felt an ominous feeling. He hears psychotic laughter coming from someone, but where was the laughter coming from? "Naruto? Is something wrong, I hear laughter?" Hermione asked, looking worried. "Yeah mate, I'm hearing the laughter too, but where?" Ron asked. "I'm not so sure, but you two got to get out quickly, now," Naruto said, looking around. But soon the answer to his question arrived, as it was Menma and he was looking rather crazed. This time he wasn't wearing his mask, as his face was showing his true emotions. "Hello Naruto…I see you look rather different. Tell me, is it the Nine Tails power that you have acquired?" Menma asked. "Yeah…it is, I've been wanting to use this to personally kill you since I failed the last time and the other few times before," Naruto spat.
"Atta boy," Menma said, before looking behind him, seeing Hermione looking rather shocked. After all, this was her first time seeing Menma and lets just say that she was terrified given how he looks like Naruto, but more psychotic. Menma smiled creepily at her, which creeped her out just from his facial expressions. However Menma wasn't looking at her just because he was interested in the girl. No he had a plan, which was to take away the one person that gives his rival the strength to be powerful. "Tell me Naruto, how does it feel when you lose the one you think of as your entire world? Do you feel sad? Angry? Full of hate?" Menma asked. Naruto raised an eyebrow, "What the hell are you talking about?" he asked, not knowing how to respond to this question, as it doesn't apply to this situation. "You see Naruto, I want to kill you right now, but first allow me to take away the one who gives you the strength to fight," Menma stated. Naruto widens his eyes, figuring out what Menma was insinuating, as he yells at Hermione to run.
But he was too late, as Menma grabbed Naruto's girlfriend and kidnapped her. Naruto and Ron pursued Menma, as the blond was giving chase upon the rooftops. Soon Naruto sees Menma upon the edge of the highest tower, as he holds Hermione at knife point. "Just let her go, she has nothing to do with this. I'm the one you want, so kill me instead!" Naruto yelled, wanting Menma to stop before he did anything he regrets. Menma was cackling, as Hermione was demanding that he let her go. She was stalling him, so that she could grab her wand to stun her kidnapper, before Naruto could finish him off. "Very poor choice of words," Menma said, dropping Hermione to the ground as he laughed. "Noooo!" Naruto shouted, as he jumped down the roof to go catch Hermione. He managed to catch her and used an extended chakra arm to grab on to the walls, as he and Hermione landed safely. "Are you alright?" Naruto asked. Before she could respond, a paper bomb kunai was thrown to the ground. Luckily the Nine Tails chakra protected the two, as he covered Hermione from the explosion.
"I got you, now go! Get to Ron, hurry!" Naruto ordered, he saw that Ron arrived. Hermione nodded and went to Ron, as Naruto and Menma fought. "If it's a fight you want, then it's a fight you're gonna get, come at me!" Naruto taunted. The two were trading blows, as they fought on the walls and rooftops. Luckily Naruto has managed to get on a higher level more so than Menma's ever since their previous encounter at the cathedral. "I see you have become even more stronger, but is that what you really got? I expected much better," Menma retorted, blocking a punch. "You haven't seen anything yet," Naruto said, before vanishing. He appears behind Menma, as he uses an extended arm to knock him back. Menma was thrown fast to the floor, but Naruto never did stop. The blond or rather golden Uzumaki, summoned some shadow clones to gang up on Menma and began to pound Menma as the other Uzumaki tried to cut some of the clones down.
However, what Naruto was really doing was prepping for his ultimate attack. He sneaks up behind Menma and hits him with a twin tailed beast Rasengan attack. 'How?! How is he managing to get to me?! That's not possible!' Menma thought, as he was blown back to the wall. Soon Naruto comes behind him again and kicks him in the back, blowing him back, followed by Naruto kicking him up in the air with his clones adding more momentum by kicking Menma up even higher. But before Menma could even react, Naruto flashes by quickly and uses his extended arm to punch Menma to the lake. Menma drops down into the lake, as Naruto and some of his clones throw a couple of tailed beast Rasenshurikens at him, trying to add more damage. 'There, I hope that's enough to at least drown him in the lake,' Naruto thought, as he landed feet first on the water.
But to his shock and disappointment, the battle wasn't over as out of the water came a giant black hand with claws trying to grab Naruto. Naruto avoids the hand and to his shock, what he saw was unexpected as it was Kurama except something was different about him. Well for starters, his fur was black and second of all, the black Nine Tails was looking rather menacing with those eyes of his. "Do you really think that is enough to kill me?! Ha, pathetic! Lets see you face the might of the Black Nine Tails! Come Black Nine Tails, let us rip our prey to shreds!" Menma shouted with enough insanity. "With pleasure," the Black Nine Tails stated, as he charged at Naruto. "OH HELL NO! Naruto, this phoney fuck face of a clone comes out and dares to challenge us?! Come on, let's take this punk ass knock off back to where he belongs!" Kurama shouted. "I have to agree with Kurama, Take. Down. This. Bastard!" Gyuki stated. Naruto nods as he glares at Menma, "If it's a battle of beasts you want, then it's a battle of beasts you will get! Come on Kurama, let's end this prick!" Naruto shouted, going into Kurama mode as he summoned Kurama to the battlefield. The golden Kurama has an epic staredown with the Black Nine Tails, as both snarl at each other. The two giant foxes rushed at each other, as both beasts began to punch and bite at each other, while both Naruto and Menma jumped off their tailed beasts and began their battle again.
"You son of a bitch!" Kurama shouted, punching the Black Nine Tails in the face. "You stupid bastard!" the Black Nine Tails spat, biting at Kurama. The two giant foxes kept punching and swiping their tails at each other, while taunting and yelling obscenities at each other. Over with Naruto and Menma, the two were fighting to the death as they were seeing who would fall first. The blond sends a powerful kick to the head, but Menma blocks with his arm before sending a punch at Naruto who manages to avoid the punch. They kept trading and avoiding blows as neither wanted to be dead. Soon it was a battle of blades and thanks to Naruto utilizing Kurama's chakra, the gunblade became even more stronger as it looked like it was upgraded to be a little more longer and can cut through anything swiftly. Naruto managed to cut at Menma's chest making an X cut on his chest, as a clone of Naruto kicked Menma at the back of his head, while the real Naruto kicks Menma in the balls, before using his trademark taijutsu technique he dubs the Uzumaki Barrage.
"Come on Menma, I thought you're supposed to be much stronger! All I see is a punk ass bitch!" Naruto taunted. "SHUT UP!" Menma yelled violently rushing at Naruto, blindly. Naruto avoids however, as his plan was to distract Menma by insulting his ego, making him susceptible to leaving any areas of weakness. Naruto smirked and immediately punched Menma's ribs, claps his ears, knees him in the stomach, before headbutting him. Soon Naruto spun Menma around and threw him to the docks and before Menma could get up, Naruto pounced on him. The blond sent several strikes to Menma's body as he was leaving a good amount of injury to him. Naruto keeps punching Menma in the face repeatedly, bloodying his fist as he screams with every amount of strength he has.
He soon grabs Menma and drags him to water, trying to drown him. He brings him back up for a brief second before continuing to drown Menma, rinse and repeat. But Menma escapes from the drowning as he kicked away Naruto, who bounced back. Menma sprouts a blade, as he begins to swing at Naruto. The blond avoids the blade of course, but Menma lands a punch at Naruto's face. Naruto gets back up and kicks Menma in the shin, before spinning around and punching him in the ribs. Menma swung his blade at Naruto, who covered his face but the blade might have made a cut around his arms. Naruto felt the cut and punched Menma in the face, which staggered him before Menma tried to swing again. Naruto grabs Menma's left arm and breaks it by bending it the opposite way as Menma screams in pain. Later using that broken arm, he spun him around to kick him right in the face. As Naruto held Menma's broken arm, he kept beating Menma mercilessly. With every strike on Menma's face, he thinks about what led him to unleash this sort of brutality. From Menma murdering his sensei to him almost killing Hermione, Naruto kept punching with all of the rage he had held towards Menma.
Now as the two Nine Tails fought, the Black Nine Tails watched his host getting brutally beaten up by his doppelganger. Now his situation wasn't any better, as he was at the mercy of Golden Kurama who pinned the Black Nine Tails down. But before Golden Kurama could harm him any further, the black Nine Tails broke free from being pinned down and began to fire a tailed beast bomb at Naruto. "NO! NARUTO! LOOKOUT!" Golden Kurama shouted, rushing to his host quickly. But he wasn't able to reach him on time, as the Black Nine Tails tackled and pinned him down. However Naruto notices the oncoming attack, thanks to Gyuki warning him about this. Naruto takes Menma with him and managed to avoid the oncoming tailed beast bomb as he doesn't want Menma to die that easily.
Golden Kurama continued fighting the Black Nine Tails without any mercy as he used a good portion of his chakra to obliterate the Black Nine Tails using the tailed beast bomb. Soon the Black Nine Tails evaporated into nothingness, as it went back to Menma. But alas Golden Kurama also vanished, going back to Naruto. Both Naruto and Menma glared at each other, knowing full well that neither of them will back down. "Let us finish this god forsaken battle!" Naruto shouted. "Agreed. Come at me bitch!" Menma shouted. Naruto prepares the Fox-Fire Rasengan, while Menma prepared the Rasen Ring. The two rushed at each other.
"NARUTO!"
"MENMA!"
The two attacks collided and an explosion was created as everybody at the castle felt the impact. Soon it was revealed that Naruto was standing, but is almost close to collapsing, whereas Menma was on the floor lying still. Naruto stood over him, "This is the end…Menma," Naruto said, stabbing Menma in the heart using his gunblade, before he ripped the heart out and crushed it. "Hope you rot in hell…even though its too good for you, asshole," Naruto retorted, spitting on his carcass. While Naruto walked away, the Black Nine Tails was inside Menma's body as he laughed, "Finally…the time has come," he said. Before Naruto could head back to the castle, the blond felt some intense pressure and its coming from Menma's carcass. The blond turns around to see that Menma was standing back up. He was laughing as the hole where his heart was supposed to be, was stitched back up as if it was nothing. "What the fuck?! I thought killed you?!" Naruto stated.
Menma kept laughing, before he looked at Naruto creepily. Now something was off, as Menma's eyes were now red with black scleras, dark eye pigmentations appearing as his eyes bled black and his whiskers are far more feral. "I must thank you for killing Menma, my host was a bother any way," 'Menma' stated, as Naruto raised an eyebrow. "What kind of sick joke is this Menma?!" Naruto yelled. "Oh you really aren't as smart as I thought you to be. You see Naruto, I am the Black Nine Tails. I was merely sealed in my pathetic hosts body, but when you killed Menma, thats when I leaped in and took over his entire body. I feel like a new man," 'Menma' or rather the Black Nine Tails said. "Ok then, who should I call you, if you aren't Menma?" Naruto asked. "You may call me…Kurasame," Kurasame stated. "I believe our time is up Naruto. In time we will meet again, and I will finish what poor little Menma couldn't even accomplish and that is killing you, goodbye." Kurasame left, as Naruto sighed in frustration. "God. Fucking. Dammit. Well that's just fantastic, now that Menma is dead, he comes back to life and calls himself a new name. Great…" Naruto stated. "Agreed, we really gotta kill this crafty little bastard. After all there is only room for one Nine Tailed Fox," Kurama stated. "As much as I want to agree with you guys, Naruto you need to head back to the castle right now," Gyuki said. Naruto nodded and goes back up to the castle.
Note: Hey guys I decided that while Menma will be killed, the Black Nine Tails wouldn't want to die after all he is in a new world and he could do whatever he wants, so basically I came up with the idea that once Menma died, his body will be taken over by the Black Nine Tails and as such will be given a new name which is Kurasame. ANyways to answer some questions regarding the status of the Naruto world, I haven't really decided as much so we will see. The next chapter will be the final chapter of this volume before I move on to the final volume. Hope u like and review
