The first time Bakugo felt this pull towards Midoriya was when they were children when they met. Something about the young boy and his large green eyes made him want to be with him. He couldn't point out what it was, and he wasn't fully conscious of it, but he simply wanted to never leave him alone. He really liked him and always wanted to be with him for some reason.
"I want to be with Kacchan forever!". When Midoriya had said this to him, he could feel some fluttering inside him, excited to hear the young boy says he wanted to be with him forever. It was fantastic that Midoriya wanted him always and forever in his future. Their future.
"Of course, I'll stay with Izuku forever!" he had quickly responded, grabbing his hands and grinning widely. He was so excited about the future, talking about what they could be doing the two of them once they were grown up.
Then he got his quirk, and it was incredible. Everyone's eyes were on him since he had it, everyone was praising him for it, telling him how great it was. Despite all those eyes on him, for a long time, Midoriya's eyes were the most important on him, he was ready to do a lot to impress him too. As long as he could be the one he was looking at, everything would be fine.
"Kacchan will be son strong in the future!" praised Midoriya with stars in his eyes, sounding excited for him. "Do you think my quirk will make me as strong as you?".
Bakugo had look back at him. Part of him was too proud for believing he could have a quirk better than his, but there was also something that didn't want him to do so. "Of course Izuku won't be as strong as me," he had commented with a laugh, "But I am sure you will be good enough to fight by my side".
And by doing so, Bakugo could make sure he would still be safe, he would always be able to save him if he were in danger.
Yet, not too long later, they all learned that Midoriya was quirkless. Bakugo had been so confused about that, not believing his friend could be quirkless. What about their future? What about their plans? How would Midoriya take care of himself? Especially with how he wasn't ready to give up. Suddenly, Bakugo felt uneasy about the idea of the young boy following his path in the future, not wanting him in danger.
Then more negative sentiment started blooming in him.
One day thing had changed even more and he hadn't even believed his classmates when they told him, he had to run back home to his mother to ask. "Is Deku really an omega?!" he had yelling upon getting inside the house. His mother had looked confused, wondering if the young boy had told her son. Of course she knew, Inko had told her over the phone, still in tears. "Yes he is" she answered with a small smile, "And this is why you must take care of him, okay?" she asked, wanting for her friend's son to be alright too.
For some reason it had really shocked him, he would never have thought Deku would also be an omega. Something in him wanted to follow what his mother was saying and protect him, but he wouldn't admit it. Deku was really useless, yet he was still stuck on becoming a hero. He was so stuck on putting himself in danger despite being this weak. It was hard to see how he could protect him.
Yet, despite saying he wouldn't go and take care of him, he still couldn't help himself sometimes. But of course, he wasn't helping Deku. Of course not. It was just that those guys in his class were so annoying and he wanted someone to pick a fight with and Deku was a good reason to get at them. It was just a coincidence that they were leaving Deku alone afterwards.
He couldn't be doing it for him, after all, he was just annoying. Every time he was around he could swear he felt how nervous and anxious he was and it was irritating him. Even his sweet scent was annoying, of course it wasn't good, of course not... It was obviously just annoying.
Really, the more he wanted to ignore him, the more aware he was of him.
Bakugo still couldn't believe it, that idiot was still aiming for UA? Was he suicidal or something? Did he had a death wish or was he just really stupid from all the beating? Too many things were making him mad at the idea, yet the only one he was pushing far away was this slight fear he had for his safety, of course he didn't care about that.
Still, he needed to remind him he couldn't go.
"Oi, shitty nerd, what is it about going to UA? You know that a useless, quirkless omega could never get in, right?" he had growled after guiding him to an isolated side of the schoolyard.
"I can still try, I won't give up!".
This made him even angrier, what was it with the determination and motivation to go and die? Couldn't he just be a good boy and live a normal life? Was he looking up so much to All Might that it had taken away all his self-preservation?
He took a step forward, wanting to talk to him from closer, only to see him backing off, an annoying feeling of fear coming to him, making him even more irritated for some reason. He quickly went to him, grabbing his collar to make sure he wouldn't run away from him before he could make his message clear.
"You should know your place, you'd get killed in an instant," he said harshly, "just give up!".
He wanted to smile at his lack of reply, yet the look Deku had on his face was enough to make it stop, seeing very well he didn't convince him. Well, if words couldn't make him abandoned, he would beat that determination out of him, maybe it would
even grow back some sense of reason into him. Yet, doing so wasn't making feel him good at all, like most time, which was only making him madder.
He still couldn't believe Deku had actually made it into UA, but he guessed it was impossible for him to really change that. He wouldn't risk getting kick out for trying something on him.
Still, something had ticked him off when they were doing the physical test of this Aizawa-sensei. It felt like something was missing with Deku, but he couldn't point out what exactly.
It ended up being stronger than himself, he followed him back to the nurse office when he went for his broken finger, waiting that he get out. He was still trying to see what wasn't feeling right, yet he couldn't tell.
Only once the young omega got out did he emerged from his thoughts, following him just so they could be far enough from the nurse office. He then pushed him against the wall, looking him over, ignoring this stupid nickname as he was looking for something. Then he found what the problem was.
He then started to undo the tie, really he should learn to make one correctly, the other one trying to stop him. "K-Kacchan what are you doing!?".
"Shut it!" he barked back, finally managing to take off the tie, opening the top of his shirt. So this is what he noticed without knowing. How come he had managed to notice he wasn't wearing his collar?
No, no, that wasn't what he needed to focus on. "Why aren't you wearing your collar?" he asked, clearly annoyed, both from him not wearing it, but also from having noticed such a stupid thing.
"How does it have anything to do with you?! Let me go!" he heard back as the omega finally managed to slip away. This made his blood heat up. "Nothing to do with me?" he repeated, pretty annoyed at his statement.
Wait, why was he annoyed? It had nothing to do with him. Yet he couldn't help himself right now, this stupid idiot couldn't even do the bare minimum to take care of himself apparently.
Then he received that it was because he didn't want anyone knowing. What was this bullshit? His scent was so strong, how could anyone miss it? But that wasn't the problem, the problem was how many alphas were around him all the time. They were easily a dozen alpha in their class alone?! "You realised that more than half the class are alphas right!" he frowned, more annoyance and anger seeping through his voice than he would have expected, making the omega flinch by accident.
"I know! But I can manage, I don't need to be treated differently, and I can protect myself!". Even more nonsense to make him even angrier. Really, if he wanted he could probably pin him right here and there and make him his. Of course, it wasn't something he would do, nor anything he had ever thought about doing in the past, but he still could do it because he couldn't take care of himself.
Yet, again, he could see his words wouldn't change anything to his decision. He needed to let some steam out, letting small explosions resonate through the empty hallway as he turned to leave, knowing he would just be even more irritated if he stayed to argue. "Don't come crying to me if something bad happens to you".
With that, he never went to tell anyone else. It wasn't his place, would probably be bothersome and really, if it was the little safety the omega could have here to not have been found out, he would at least leave him that. The other could try and figure it out by themselves and Deku would finally realise that his plan was stupid.
Yeah, it was just to prove him wrong, he was totally not trying to help him keep it secret for his safety...
This is obviously a parallel to the first chapter, seeing more of our explosive boy point of view. I somehow ended up making it longer than Midoriya's part, but maybe it can help seeing where he's coming from so ┐( ̄∀ ̄)┌
