Jane is out in the deck getting the grill hot. Frankie brings her a beer.

"So, how are things going with Maura?"

"Really great Frankie. It's comfortable. I mean we've been friends for so long and we know so much about each other already. That helps."

"I'm happy to see you happy, Janie. You two have been looking at each other thru love goggles for years now. I'm glad you finally did something about it."

"Love goggles? Wait. What? You knew there was something there?"

"Yeah. You sat up differently when she walked in the room. You got a different look in your eyes too. It was like you were back in high school. I noticed some of the same things with Maura too, but it took me a minute to put it together."

"Frankie, I've never felt like this in my life. This is different from anyone I've ever dated. Oh, and I need to tell you, I'm not going to be able to go to the Sox game with you on Saturday night."

"Ok. I'll ask Nina if she wants to go with me."

"I need to be honest with you. I made those plans with you just in case things went sideways with Maura."

"We made those plans a while back. How could you have even known..."

"I had plans to tell her this weekend about my feelings. I wanted an out just in case things didn't go well. But since things happened the way they did and they are going in my favor, I'm going to stay home with Maura on Saturday night."

"Wow. You have it bad, don't you. You were going to go out on a limb like that?"

"Yeah. I was. It scared me to even make the plans at the spa we were going to go to. Oh, I need to cancel that too. Unless you and Nina want to do that before the game."

"I'll ask her. I'm sure she'll say yes. You know, all three of us Rizzoli kids have had a thing for your girlfriend. And, you, you won her. She's a keeper, Jane. Don't blow it."

"Oh my God, you're right. You even kissed her. And, I'm not going to blow it, thank you very much."

Jane heads inside. Everyone is there. She grabs the burgers first. Angela has made the patties and seasoned them all. Jane grabs another beer, kisses Maura.

Maura just smiles at Jane. They exchange a look and a smile. Jane heads outside to tend to the grill.

Nina sits down next to Maura, "How are the ribs doing? I know that hurts."

"It gets sore at times, but I'm okay. It's the arm that's bothering me. I'm afraid I'm going to clock Jane with it by accident. The leg makes me crazy because I can't walk."

"Yeah, I can see how that can be a pain. I see you've moved from the wheelchair to a knee scooter. That should help."

"Jane bought that for me today. I haven't tried it yet. She thought I'd be happier with more mobility."

Susie comes over and joins Maura and Nina. "Mind if I join you?"

Nina and Maura answer in unison, "Not at all".

"Susie, please tell me that Dr. Pike is not messing up my morgue."

"Well, he's doing things his way. That's for sure."

"Ugh. He is awful. I shouldn't speak that was of a fellow medical examiner, but he isn't as thorough as I am."

Nina adds, "And not as personable either."

"Thank you, Nina, and I'm not socially comfortable with most people, but he's worse than I am."

"Really? You've always been personable with me."

"Well, Jane has helped me to be more sociable and less awkward."

"Dr. Isles..."

"Susie, when we aren't around other lab personnel, it's Maura, remember?"

"Yes, sorry, Maura, you have that appointment with Dr. Kent Drake tomorrow at 10 o'clock. Do you want me to reschedule it?"

"Oh, that's right. Can I ask a huge favor?"

"Sure."

"Can you bring him here? Explain to him what the situation is and if he's not comfortable with it, let me know. Otherwise I'll see you about 10:30?"

"Sure, I can do that. You've got his files and stuff on your computer, right?"

"Yes, I'll review them. Maybe I can get Pike out of there and have Dr. Drake handle things."

Nina gets to to get the wine to refill hers and Maura's glass. "Thank you Nina. That's very kind of you."

"My pleasure, Maura. I'm going to go check on Jane and Frankie.

Nina goes out on the deck and the two siblings are "sword fighting" with a spatula and tongs. "We can't leave you two alone, can we?"

They both just look at Nina and laugh then they both just say, "What?"

She shakes her head at them and walks over to Frankie and gives him a kiss on the cheek.

"These burgers are almost done. Keep an eye on them, I'll be right back."

Jane heads inside to grab the cheese and the hot dogs. "Hey everybody...anyone not want cheese on their burger?" They all confirm in various ways that cheese is good. "Provolone, American or Both?" There are mostly 'boths'. "I'll do both. If you only want one, follow me outside." She grabs the tray of hot dogs on her way out too.

No one follows her with the cheese question she asked. She puts the cheese on the burgers and the hot dogs on the grill.

Angela comes out a few minutes later with a platter to collect the burgers. Frankie and Nina go in with Angela. A minute or two later Jane feels a tap on her shoulder. She turns around.

"Maur, your made it outside. On your own. Awesome."

"I wanted to see my girl and do this..." She leans in and kisses Jane. "I wanted my first trip on this scooter to be unforgettable. Thank you Jane."

"No, thank you. I love your lips on mine. They are so soft."

Maura blushes at the compliment. "I'm just glad that I can finally kiss you."

"Me too Maura. Me too. Now, let's get this food inside. We have a hockey game to watch."

"Yes, puck off is in 15 minutes."

"Face off, Maura, face off."

Maura smiles and shrugs and does that metal note thing she does and mouths 'face off'. She follows Jane inside. Everyone is already making their burgers and loading their plates with chips and Angela's potato salad. She sets the hot dogs down next to everything else on the counter.

She helps Maura get settled at the table and she makes her a plate. She just smiles at the woman she loves, not saying a word, while she fixes it. Maura is just looking back with the same smile. Susie and Nina notice the look between the two. They just look at each other and nod. They can tell, this really is love.
