Maura gets a text at 9:30 from Susie. Dr. Drake was early. They are on their way.

"Jane, Susie and Dr. Drake will be here no later than 10 o'clock."

"Ok, Maur. So you mind if I borrow Susie and her brain while you interview Dr. Drake?"

"Jane, if you borrow her, you automatically get her brain too."

Jane just rolls her eyes. Maura looks at her, "What?"

Jane walks away and goes to get a notebook out of Maura's office. "Hey babe, do you want to do your interview in the office or out here?"

"Out here is fine. The coffee and stuff is here. You and Susie can use the office."

Jane makes sure that Maura has her laptop and all the necessary files and folders for the interview. She hands her the new notebook she got out and some pens.

Maura looks at her with a smile. "What?", Jane asks. "You know me so well. You know I keep a notebook on everyone." Jane just smiles back.

The doorbell rings. Jane answers the door, "Good morning, Susie." She sticks her hand out to Dr. Drake, "I'm Detective Jane Rizzoli, how are you? Please, come in. Dr. Isles is right here."

"Dr. Kent Drake, nice to meet you", Maura extends her hand. "I would get up, but I assume Sr. Criminalist Chang explained my situation."

"Yes, she did. Nice to meet you Dr. Isles, I do hope you are healing well."

Jane and Susie grab a pastry and some coffee and head into Maura's office.

"Dr. Drake, please, there is coffee and pastries, please make yourself comfortable."

Dr. Drake gets some coffee and a muffin. He offers some to Maura, but she declines. He sits at the table for his interview.

"I see here that you served in Afghanistan. As well as full training in Forensics."

"Yes, ma'am, that is correct. I knew that working on those that are alive would give me a better appreciation for those that are not. With my forensics background I knew it would be essential in becoming a Medical Examiner."

"Impressive. I have watched the videos of your autopsy procedures. We have a very similar approach. I'm looking for an Assistant Medical Examiner to work under me. I'm going to be out for at least another month. I have someone in there right now working for me. I really need to move him back to his usual morgue. If I have Sr. Criminalist Chang working with you, do you think you can run the morgue while I'm gone?"

"Wow. Yes, Dr. I can. And you're available by phone if I do need anything?"

"Yes, of course. I will be out of town the next few days, but I can still be reached. Can you start tomorrow?"

"Absolutely. I'm ready to go. Thank you Dr. Isles."

During the interview Jane and Susie listened to the message that Olivia got from the inmate at Lompoc. Susie is going to see what she can pull from the tape and take it to BRIC and see if Nina can help pull anything.

"It's definitely from Hoyt. He mentioned both me and Maura. I need to get to NY and see if I can find Kat and who has her."

"If anyone can find her Jane, it's you."

"Thanks, Susie. So, what is your impression of this Dr. Drake guy?"

"He seems nice. He's Scottish. His resume is impressive. He was an Army doctor in Afghanistan. I sure hope Maura likes him. I can't take Pike anymore."

Jane's phone vibrates. "It's a text from Maura, they're done." They walk out of the office and into the kitchen area.

"Sr. Criminalist Chang, Dr. Drake is going to start tomorrow morning. I've told him that you'd assist him while I'm gone. I'm available by phone. The biggest news, effective today at 5 o'clock, Dr. Pike will be going home. He'll no longer be at BPD."

"Oh, thank you Dr. Isles. That's like a birthday present."

Maura and Jane both laugh.

"Wow, this Pike character doesn't have any fans does he?"

"Oh, Dr. Drake, you have no idea, and I am a cop and not a doctor."

"Well, Dr. Isles, I need to get back to the morgue to deal with Pike. Be safe in NY. Jane, please take care of her."

"I will Susie. We'll keep you posted. Thank you for helping with the case."

"Susie, I'll call Pike and give him the news. Expect him to pitch a fit. I'll have Frankie come down when I call him to make sure everything is okay."

Susie and Dr. Drake head back to BPD. Before Susie heads back down to the morgue she pops into the cafe, looking for Frankie.

"Maura is moving Dr. Pike out of here today. She afraid he'll be pissed and she said she was going to call you to go to the morgue to make sure he doesn't do something stupid."

Susie's phone buzzes.

"Well she called him. We better get downto the morgue. Let's go."

They head down to the morgue to find Dr. Pike overturning a tray of instruments. "Dr. Pike, you need to calm down. If you can't do that easily then I will escort you out of the building."

"I'm going. This Chief ME job should be mine..." He grumbles his way out of the morgue.

Frankie calls Maura. "He's gone." Maura answers him, "Thanks, Frankie. You are the best. Can you keep an eye on Susie the next couple of days to make sure Dr. Pike doesn't come back? I really need to send him to the outermost part of the state. I have a new Assistant ME starting tomorrow. His name is Dr. Kent Drake. Susie has met him. Can you make him feel welcome, please?"

"Sure, Maura, anything for you. You guys be careful. I'll talk to you soon."

"Jane, Frankie and Susie have things under control at the morgue. Kent starts tomorrow. Frost should be here soon. Are we ready to go?"

"Yes, ma'am. Our bags are packed. If for some reason I forgot something, it's NY, we'll pick it up. I have booked a hotel near the Precinct. If Olivia says it's not a good hotel then I'll book another one."

"Jane I'm worried about Kat."

"Me too Maur. Me too. She's a great young detective. I'd love to have her in homicide here. We owe it to her and to Olivia."

Frost arrives. He comes in asks if there is anything to eat. "Man, Frost, I've worn off on you. Always wanting food."

"Here Barry, grab a muffin or something. Enjoy it on the way to the airport."

"Thank you, Maura."

Jane gets Maura loaded into the car. Frost puts the luggage in the trunk. They head out to Logan to fly to NY.

Jane called ahead to let them know that they'd have a medically needed knee scooter that they'll need stored in the cabin of the plane.

They have to check their luggage, because of the guns, they do show their IDs and badges at baggage check then they head to the gate. They still do have to get thru security, but it's easier with the badges.

Jane texts Olivia from the gate.

About to board. See you in about an hour and a half. American Airlines.

I'm sending Carisi to pick you up. See you soon.

They get boarded. Frost takes the window, Maura in the middle and Jane on the aisle. Maura rests her head on Jane's shoulder. It's a short flight. When they land Jane has a text from Carisi.

Let me know what Baggage Claim, and I'll meet you at pick up right out front

Baggage Claim 6. See you in a bit.

Maura gets some speed on knee scooter thru the airport. Jane and Frost get their luggage. They step out of the baggage claim area and Carisi is waiting.

"Hey Detective, thank you for coming."

"Not a problem. ADA Sonny Carisi, this is Detective Barry Frost."

"Nice to meet you Detective. Good to see you Dr. Isles.

"Good to see you too, now, let's see if we can find Kat. I owe her my life."

"I know Dr. She's a good detective. She was a good add to Olivia's team. She actually replaced me."

"Carisi, I'll text Olivia and let her know we're on our way to the station."

"Thanks Detective."

"Just call me Jane, please. And Dr. Isles is Maura, and Detective Frost is either Barry or Frost. We're in this for a while and we're all family at this point."

"Ok, Jane. Got it."

Carisi has us. We're on our way.
